I want to get a new smartphone. I did a lot of research and I saw that mi note 3 was really good for the price but I am concerned by the longevity of it. Should ı be concerned. What are the rivals of this phone? And is there anything like it this phone in the price range? Is c7 pro as good as note 3?

So Im stuck between these awesome phones and I need help. I will only use my phone if I go outside our house since I use a Laptop. I like music as well.Is DAC really important since the MI A1 have one. I play games on phones too like 2fuse,piano tiles just light stuff. Also,Is USB TYPE C is important? Does that benefit the phone like daster data transfer or charging? So which one do i get?

I'm very disappointed with a couple of issues: 1 - Not so accurate white levels in screen (bluish tint) 2- No OTA yet (hoping to get fast charging and below fprint problem resolve soon with that) 3- Fprint reader sucks (takes 1-1.3 secs on avg) (not enough load...only 180 avg. apps installed) 4- laggy, stuttery, and slow performance overall (app animations are so damn laggy) 5- Camera app hangs at video rec. times 6- volume/ringer/alarm/media bar doesn't disappear after 1.5-2 secs. (takes forever or around 1 minute to self close)!! 7 - RAM usage never goes below 3.1 GiGs (Already the phone is advertised at 4gb) I'm still cautious about: 1 - I'm a fan of restoring to previous customized state so that after reformat/full wipe, i don't need to do the same hassle and start over. 2 - I wanna root my device but for only and only my favourite audio player viz. "Poweramp alpha build 704" (because of it's exquisite variety of settings and customizations ?). So I just want to ensure proactively if my device will whether return to normal state (as formerly unrooted) or not? Want a detailed and expert reply. ty in adv. ?

Hi, i was looking for air purifiers and i found my favorite one. It's Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro. But i am little bit confused with purifying performance which is 5000m3/h. If I am counting right, it's 5000000 Liters per hour, which is about 1400 Liters per second. Seems little strange to me ? What am I missing here ?

Hi LTT peeps, I've been looking around for a budget smartphone to get as a backup/toy phone to compliment my main smartphone. I've settled on getting the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, but I can't decide on which model to get. For instance, which color do you guys think looks the best? Also, is the 3GB 64GB option worth the $40 premium over the base model? And yes, I am aware that this uses a MTK chipset, but I've wanted to try using one for a while, and I am willing to trade better build quality for some performance loss, so the Redmi Note 3 is out of the running for me. My Xiaomi redmi 2 constantly is heating up within 5 seconds of inserting the battery. It gets super hot, probably to its maximum. My phone wont boot either. If I hold down the power button then the phone vibrates once like usual, but it does not boot. No display on screen, its black, not even powered on I guess. I tried another battery and it is the same issue. I put the supposed faulty battery in another phone and that phone booted, so the battery can't be the problem. To get the phone to heat up I dont even really have to press and hold down any button, it automatically starts heating up like wild when I insert the battery. This problem started after say 5-7hrs of updating the phone. There was a very small update from Xiaomi which was supposed to fix the calendar app and few other small things. Ever since that day my phone is not working. It is out of warranty, can someone help/ guide me?

Hello, I can't make up my mind between The Xiaomi Redmi 3s and the Xiaomi Mi 4C. The Mi 4C is lighter, thinner and smaller than the 3s (which matters to me) but has a smaller battery and 16GB of non-expandable storage which might not be a problem but could be one in the future. I'm not sure about the performace, that's why I can't choose between them, the 3s has a octa core at 1.4 GHz and the 4C has a Hexa core (2 fast cores at 1.8 GHz and 4 cores at 1.4 GHz) and the 4C also has a higher resolution which could potentially make the performance worse and probably drains more battery life. Also has anyone bought from Geekbuying? I saw both phones almost two times cheaper than in my country on their site.

I was looking at it on Geekbuying and asked the operator if it was the chinese version and he said yes and when I asked what was the difference this was the reply: China version: has chinese apps, do not support OTA, u get what system , it will be what system. International version: will be installed with Global MIUI 7.0 OS ROM, Google play store, Google services and multi-languages.It supports OTA update International version IS better than china version. Its system and other funcation. For china vesion, we only install internatonal rom into it, so it will have play store and some langugas.

So recently I bought a 5,000 mAh XiaoMi Powerbank. I have done some research online and it has passed all authenticity tests except one. There is a XiaoMi Code on every product that can be used to be verified on their website. I entered the code and it said that it has been queried 2 times. Has anyone else had experience buying XiaoMi products and should I be worried by this? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone! I'm now seriously thinking about getting into shooting movies for YouTube (special project that includes make-up as a superhero, mask, etc.) with some crazy things and reviews of uncommon items (not technology related). As I don't want to invest a sh*tload of money into hardware for making this project I was thinking about getting an action cam, as I think it would realize my requirements perfectly (I don't need autofocus or zoom). After a bunch of online searching I've found the Xioami's action cams called "Yi". The first one (cost aroud 60-70$), can shoot in 2K at 30fps with 35Mbps with mod. It requires phone with app to change the options and to have the preview of what the camera is shooting. The new one called Yi II (or Yi 4K), can shoot 4K at 30fps with 60Mbps (it's gonna be released this or the next month, pre-order is 249$, but it will probably drop a little bit in price after the official release). It doesn't require the phone app to change the settings (but it can be done, like with the first one), and it has the touchscreen on the back to see the preview and to change the camera options. Do you think it's worth to spend some more $$$ to get the 4K version as a future-proof device? Or maybe you think as for the YouTube materials 2K is enough? Do You have any thoughts? I was really waiting for to review Redmi Note 3 since the launch event where Xiaomi created a lot of hype. And even the pricing was phenomenal but let’s check whether everything on paper is really true in real life or not. Let’s talk about the good things first. What’s good about Redmi Note 3: 1)Performance: Redmi note 3 is equipped with Snapdragon 650 chipset, which is very powerful and we didn’t experience any lag in daily tasks. Even though it surpasses Antutu benchmark scores of Snapdragon 810, it is not as fast, not that great. Still for a price of 11999, the chipset and the performance that we are getting is commendable. 2)Battery: Battery is one of the best parts about Redmi Note 3. With a huge 4000 mAh battery, we got 1.5 days of usage with average use and with minimal use, we are sure that it will definitely last 2 days. For a heavy user like me, it managed to survive a whole day. … … … … Are you still looking for pros? Sorry, all the pros end here. Unfortunately, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has more cons than pros, in almost all aspects except these two. So, Let’s figure out what it is all about. What’s bad about Redmi Note 3: 1)Display: We have seen plenty of 1080P displays with a size of 5.5 inch, like LeEco Le 1s which is awesome. But this panel in the Redmi note 3 looks dull, really dull! The contrast level is very poor and the colour accuracy and vividness are missing. The only good thing is it is sharp, but that doesn’t make it a good display. Simply put, cost cutting is very evident here. 2)Network: We tried almost 5 network carriers with different SIMs, either single or dual, but it was a challenge for us to get a solid signal. Outdoor, we managed to get signal but that too was not that solid and there were interruptions. We updated the latest OTA but even after that we were facing the same issues. We thought that we got some defective piece, so Amazon replaced it within two days in a good manner. But to our surprise, the replaced product we got was made in India and the older one was made in China (weird!). Even after all these hazards, we experienced the same issue with replaced phone also. So it is a hardware defect and it cannot be fixed by software I guess. May be the metal body is preventing signals from being received by the antenna. Beware if you are a business man or a lover who spends a lot of time talking on your phone. 3)Audio Jack: We tried to connect different sets of home theatres and multimedia speakers but all failed. It was not defective as headsets were working perfectly. Both the returned and replaced phones have the same problem. So audiophiles, be very careful before choosing this phone. 4) Camera: 16 MP rear camera is strictly average and mostly an interpolated 13 MP camera. We really suspect that as Xiaomi is not even ready to share the details about the sensor till now. Xiaomi claims it as PDAF, but in all low light situation it focuses on the object very slowly and it is hard to believe it is PDAF. Still we managed to click some good pictures outdoor in bright sunlight. But for all the hype and while considering a 16 MP unit, we are really disappointed. Very bad while considering other 13 MP camera’s that found on other Xiaomi phones. P.S. Out of the box, it is horrible but after the OTA update, it is average. 5)Build Quality: It is a metal device and it is good to hold. But we have seen many metal devices nowadays even with lesser price tag. While comparing to other metal devices (like LeEco Le 1s) this feels really average. The build quality is okay but it doesn’t give a premium look or feel. Anyone can figure it out that it is a budget handset made in metal by looking or holding. Really disappointed with the look and feel. The only good thing is that it is good to hold, I mean the shape. 6)Fingerprint: Fingerprint is good but slow. Sometimes it can’t even detect sweaty fingers and we had to swipe our fingers in cotton cloth to get the sensor recognised. Somewhat useful, but looks like just added for making something extraordinary in paper not in real life. So what’s our word on Redmi note 3? Xiaomi badly needs a win over some companies like LeEco, Lenovo in the 10-12 K price bracket. That made them create a “paper only good smartphone” without proper testing. Yes, it has powerful chipset, excellent battery but that is not enough to give a thumbs up for this device. Almost everything other than these two is bad and Xiaomi needs to concentrate on testing and quality check before releasing one product like this. I suggest you to consider this mobile only for gamers, who doesn’t even use phone to call or capture pictures. 99% of people can say no to Redmi Note 3 as it behaves like a cheap product covered in silk wool. Rating: 5/10 Verdict: Go for some other products at least till Xiaomi resolves these issues.

I'm really into smartwatches /fitness band lately, this Xiaomi Mi Band 1S looks pretty nice. The previous version had a huge success but I never had it, but this one will have a heart-rate sensor and won't cost much more that's why I'm really interested. What do you guys think about it? basically when you swipe down to get the notifications bar, you then swipe left and it pops out the quick settings, this is annoying as i keep trying to get rid of notifications by swiping left and instead it brings up the quick settings page. can i get rid of this? maybe change it to tap a button instead or just have a quick settings bar on the notifications page? i really want to get rid of the annoying swipe left to get quicksettings up feature. I want to be able to get rid of my notifications by swiping left or right... if not then no worries. its just an annoying feature.

Hey guys, I have questions about Android ROMs. Recently I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G for testing. I didn't know it was a newer version, so instead of the Snapdragon 400 I got the 410 and Instead of 2GB RAM I got the 1GB RAM version. Upon my research I found that this is a new version of the note, it comes with this name HM NOTE 1S CU, runs MIUI 7 on Android KitKat 4.4.4. Now, as this is a newer version, I seem to be having trouble finding ROMs for it. Honestly, I found NONE. Am I doing it wrong? Can any of you find one? Also, since this is on MIUI, how complicated would it be to have it run AOSP? Is there a Android Lollipop version for it? Can I use some other devices ROM that runs with a 720p display, S410 and 1GB RAM if I can't find a ROM for this device? I've read the ROM thread, it helped me a lot, but I still didn't solve anything. Thanks and cheers LTT community! Bogica
