Budget (including currency): 2500€ - 2900€ (2720USD - 3150 USD) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Battlefield 2042, Jedi Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy and also sometimes Magix Video for Video editing. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm currently using a GTX 1080 and an i5 8600K with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Even thoug my current PC isn't running bad I am considering building a new one. (I also cannot keep any of my old components because I will sell them to a friend whose PC is even older than mine with a GTX 970) This time with money I myself worked for I want to spend more. And I know some may think it's stupid to go by optical preferences (yeah maybe it is stupid and expensive) I decided to build a mostly white PC. Because of this limitation of choice I am pretty much left with three GPUs to choose from (as far as I can see). These are the "12GB Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4070 Aero OC Aktiv PCIe 4.0 x16 (Retail)" (709€, 770USD), the "12GB Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Aero OC Aktiv PCIe 4.0 x16 (Retail)" (929€, 1010USD) and the "24GB PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX Hellhound Spectral White Aktiv PCIe 4.0 x16 (Retail)" (1069€, 1160USD). I play at WQHD and would like to have a GPU that is able to handle new games at this resolution for the next 5 years. (And I don't think I need raytracing) So the question for me is: Does the RX 7900 XTX bring enough benefits for me to justify spending more money and if not, which GPU would you recommend? PS: Yes I know the Kraken Elite may be a waste of money and I'm still considering other options including the normal Kraken. Since this is my first post, please let me know if I can improve on my posts in any way!

Hi all, I'm researching a little for a new monitor setup. I was thinking about super ultra wide and got a quite simple question to those who actually use one of them. I'm pretty sure you can run all games in super ultrawide and use the whole screen. I saw games running in 16:9 centered in the screen with black bars left and right. It should also be possible to use just one half of the Screen for a 16:9 Game and the other half for like a browser or seomething?! But is it also possible to run games centered in 16:9 (maybe borderless windowed mode) and still be able to use the screen space left an right of it while in game? I'm thinking about Game centered, Discord on the right, browser on the left. Just Tab out of the game to get to the Browser... Is this possible by default?

I'll keep an eye out for this PC build, of course the prices in the link are a bit overpriced, as are all PC parts at the moment. So with the announcement of the RTX 3080 I'll be upgrading my 980ti and with it my monitor I'm currently using a 24" Asus 1080p 144hz monitor, but I feel that with the upgrade in card, it's finally time to switch over to 2K. I'm not sure if I'm going to get the 3070 or 3080, but regardless I don't feel like 4K@144hz is there yet for most titles even with the 3080. So I'm looking for: 1440p, 144hz, Preferably IPS panel. My budget is sitting around 400€ and I'll be ordering from either Amazon.de or Amazon.fr around black friday, I can go a smidge higher if there is a good argument for it. A lot of sites are recommending the either Asus TUF monitor line or the Acer Nitro series, however I'm not always a fan of "unsponsered" sites and I'd rather trust the opinions of less biased people, are these monitors as good as they claim or are there much better alternatives? PS. HDR is a nice and all but I feel like "true HDR" is out of my price range, if it isn't though it's something I'm willing to consider Any help is welcome

Hi everybody! I've just recently treated myself to a third monitor, which I'm really enjoying. But I'm kind of OCD when it comes to the looks of my setup, and I want my wallpaper(s) to look decent. Since my setup is kind of unconventional, it's proving to be difficult to find something I like. I have three WQHD 2560 / 1440 16:9 monitors, two of which are horizontal and one (furthest to the right) is vertical. I like really minimalistic and/or abstract wallpapers, having them animated (I'm currently using wallpaper engine to achieve that) is nice as well. My desktops are very clean, I even have icons disabled and the taskbar is set to auto hide. I'm willing to get my hands dirty and make something myself, but I don't really have any idea where to start. Plus I'm definitely not artsy... Where do you guys find your wallpapers? Is there anybody out there with a setup similar to me? Something you can recommend? Or is there maybe even somebody out there who is willing and able to make me a custom wallpaper (I'd of course pay for the trouble) or who can recommend somebody who can do it for me? Thanks in advance everybody, I'm really looking forward to any help you all can give me on this.

Hey guys, I have a 3700x and a 2080(non super non ti). I'm currently using an Acer predator X34P (IPS WQHD 34" 120hz). The two problems I have are: difficult to drive modern games at 3440x1440 over 60 fps even with a 2080 (rdr2, ghost recon). And that the color accuracy is lower than more modern nano IPS models. I play mostly single player RPG games; rdr2, Witcher 3, far cry, etc. Don't do any competitive multiplayer anymore. I like high refresh (at least 100) but not for competition purposes. I'm split between going down to a 2560x1440 display and which one. WQHD is nice but I play on my 16:9 laptop and don't really feel it's a lot worse. The gain in performance would be nice, and models like the 27LG850 Have much better colors, especially DCI-P3 performance. However only the PG27UQ and it's acer cousin have real HDR1000, and that sounds appealing. Of course 4k brings back the performance penalty but I could render games at 1440 and still use the full hdr support. Right now I have a warranty on my x34p and can get $630 of in-store credit at microcenter for it. The 27GL850 Is $450 and a PG27UQ is $1200. Don't really wanna spend 1200 but I'm open to options. Also open to other models of course.

Hey all, I am in a sort of dilemma here. Currently I've got a 2k GSYNC TN 144Hz Asus monitor and I am looking to upgrade. I am pretty casual when it comes to gaming. Looking to get into an UltraWide IPS for workflow and gaming. I've looked around and found some decent deals at Best Buy. One is the Alienware AW3418DW (used) https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/alienware-aw3418dw-monitor-34-wqhd-3440x1440-ips-nvidia-g-sync-curved-screen-certified-refurbished/12471441 Other is the Asus PG348Q (new) https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/asus-asus-34-rog-swift-ultrawide-wqhd-5ms-gtg-curved-ips-led-g-sync-gaming-monitor-pg348q-pg348q/10414771 Looking for some input. If anyone has any of these monitors let me know what you think or just provided me with some feedback. I do like that the Alienware can overclock to 120Hz and the Asus only stops at 100Hz. I have played at both 100Hz and 144Hz on my current monitor to see if I can tell the difference and it's pretty difficult to tell for me, so I don't think it will make too much of a difference. My system specs: CPU: i7-9800x RAM: 32GB 3200MHz GSKILL Trident RGB GPU: RTX 2080 SUPER Thanks!

Hello good people of the internet! I'm looking for a new monitor, 27 inches, WQHD, VESA compatible and with a refresh rate as high as possible. Around 240 Hz would be awesome. I wanted to get some recommendations before I blow my savings on just any old monitor. Budget isn't really a criteria. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to buy a used 27-inch 1440p monitor for my ps4 Pro and these are the only two choices I've got so far: Monoprice 24659: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=113&cp_id=11307&cs_id=1130703&p_id=24659 Specsheet: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81oTLBoaUTL.pdf User Manual: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/C15BHH80MmS.pdf BenQ GL2706PQ: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GL2706PQ-Gaming-Monitor-response/dp/B06XDQ2RRQ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 User Manual: https://downloads.monoprice.com/files/manuals/24659_Manual_170911.pdf Both of them are 1440p 27ich monitors with monoprice being IPS and BenQ being TN. I just wanted to know that between the two of them which would be the better buy considering it's going to be exclusively used for gaming on a ps4 Pro? The monoprice monitor is going to cost me roughly $96-116 and the BenQ monitor might cost me btw $77-90. Really no point in recommending other monitors because I live in Pakistan and can't really afford box packed stuff. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Im looking for a new monitor, but cant find to find any that meet all my wanted specs. Either this ir that is totally missing :( Maybe you guys can help me out! The monitor should have 120hz min. HDR(Doesnt really matter what HDR spec.) WQHD and <=4ms reaction time. All i found was some BenQ monitor which looked really shitty. The XG32VQR from asus looks really good, in my local stores its not in stock.

144hz High-End WQHD 144hz 32" Curved Display for about $650
Allptraum1989 posted a topic in Displays
Hi, i am abound to finish my summer job i did for a new screen (i am currently stuck at 4k 60hz) and i want to get a nice big wqhd 144hz. Unfortunately, finding a good one has proven quite difficult. Things i absolutely want: -Curved, -VESA option, -2560x1440 -144hz, -some sort of sync controller (either gsync or freesync. as long as it works with my NVidia gpu) -31.5 - 32" -and as little motion blur as possible -Adjustable stand (pitch and height) Things i don't care about: -Great IO. I just want a sufficient DisplayPort or HDMI -Great viewing angles (As long as it looks fine from my position thats right infront) Things i don't want: -400nit HDR (hdaren't) My friend has just got himself an AOC Gaming CQ32G1 (https://amzn.to/32Nu4DL) for $380. It is 31.5", WQHD, 144hz curved and claims to be 1ms. When i looked at it in real life, it appeared to be a very nice, smooth display. But it had a LOT of motion blur. Even at 1ms. I would get the same one, had it not this much motion blur. Originally i wanted to get an Asus ROG Strix XG32VQ (https://amzn.to/32YoEGn) for $640, but it has 4ms wtf... Most reviews state that these 4ms bottleneck it down to about 120hz. They also point out that it has vertical lines on solid colors. Doesn't seem to quite match the premium price tag... Sadly i wasn't able to find any other screen that matches my needs. I think it should be very possible to get a nice WQHD 144hz 32" 1ms curved display for $650. Do you have any suggestions? Best regards, allpi -
Hey everybody, so, with the launch of RTX Super, I am finally upgrading to 1440p 144Hz. I am not really knowledgeable when it comes to displays, I am currently gaming on a TN Monitor and I am quite unhappy with colours, contrast etc... (AOC G2460PF) Has TN gotten better ever since 2015? I only had some cheaper IPS panels, which had major Backlight bleed, so I concerned this will happen again. With VA, I have no experience whatsoever... I have already looked at some displays, price range would be up to something like €500-550 (european pleb here). What are your opinions on the following? https://geizhals.at/msi-optix-mag271cqr-9s6-3fa75t-003-a1985890.html?hloc=at&hloc=de https://geizhals.at/dell-s2719dgf-210-aqvp-a1909292.html?hloc=at&hloc=de https://geizhals.at/gigabyte-aorus-ad27qd-a1966966.html?hloc=at&hloc=de These would be one IPS, VA and TN panel from various prices, MSI seems good for the price, DELL has great colours when it comes to reviews but it is TN, and the gigabyte is hella expensive... Thank you guys for your help!

I'm looking for a new curved monitor. They are very immersive and caught my appeal years ago so I'm finally willing to invest in one with the correct specs. I am a business professional by day and a gamer by night and would like a G-Sync monitor. I've heard adaptive sync opened doors for G-Sync Compatible but I also hear many people complaining of issues with ghosting, screen brightness and game freezes. I want to keep the monitor around 34-35" wide and have a high refresh rate to help keep me competitive while gaming. I'd also like WQHD or 4K resolution if possible. Any thoughts?

I am looking for a monitor for programming and gaming. Due to this I have some questions: 1) Which panel type would you recommend for coding and gaming? 2) Which aspect ratio? I like 16:9 and 21:9 but cant decide. 21:9 with high refresh rate, ips/va panel and wqhd is expensive. 3) If 16:9, would you recommend a bigger monitor than 27'', for example 32'' at wqhd? If yes, what about the pixel density? The monitor should have at least high refresh rate. Cant go back to 60hz! The budget does not matter. My current monitor: Asus VG248qe

I am building a pc with an rtx 2080. I don't know what monitor to get. Is something like an FHD asus monitor with 240hz refresh rate, 1 ms response time, and g-sync. Or should get something like an acer predator WQHD 144hz, 1 ms, Freesync/G-sync monitor. (Also, can't the 2080 take advantage of freesync?)

I currently have this monitor: https://www.benqdirect.com/rl2455hm-refurb.html GPU: rx 480 (model with less ram) CPU: amd fx-something I am looking for a second monitor which I would use for coding, browsing the web, etc. and maybe gaming in the future. I say gaming in the future because I currently my system can probably only run AAA games well at 1080p. I want to buy a monitor that has a higher resolution that my current one and is between 23-27 inches big. I was looking at buying this monitor: https://www.microcenter.com/product/479549/27ud58-b-27-4k-uhd-60hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-led-monitor, which is a 4k 60hz monitor. I would either use it only for non-gaming (until I have a better PC) or run it at 1080p. Now to why I am posting this here, I heard that people run into scaling issues when running a 1080p and 4k monitor side by side. Is that still an issue? (On windows 10) Is a WQHD monitor with 120 or 144hz a better option? - (keep in mind I won't be playing games in the the native resolution for a while) Anything else I should watch out for? Any monitor recommendations? Thank you for your help!

Hey guys, I would like to get a new notebook with a decent display and fair specs to being able to use it for at least 2-3 years without getting frustrated. So I stumbled across the Lenovo T480s with WQHD, 16GB Ram, i7 8550u. But there is no review on that as far as I know on YouTube. All the reviews are about the Full HD version and not the WQHD version. Can anyone tell me if this is a good laptop? Maybe one of you has it? I would like to know if the screen is good or not. If anyone knows another notebook in the price range of 1.500€ please recommend it!! Thanks in advance!

I wanted to get a new 1440p 144 Hz monitor. Don't have that big of a budget though, I came across this 350 euro Va panel from samsung called: LC27JG50QQU, it's also called the CJG5 It also to happen to be curved. Does anyone know if it's any good? Or any reasons not to get it? https://www.samsung.com/nl/monitors/premium-curved-gaming-monitor-jg50/

Samsung LS34J550WQUXEN 34-Inch 3440x1440 21:9 LED Monitor £289.99 It's also a pre-order as the monitor officially releases in the UK on November 5th, so you can pre-order it now for that price and still have 2 weeks to think/change your mind. A pretty sweet deal. Under £300 for a 3440x1440 (21:9) ultrawide, even the cheap Korean monitors on eBay are more than £300. It is a basic model though, only 60Hz (apparently overclockable to 75-80Hz but not confirmed), not curved, no G-Sync or speakers, but still for that price it's hard to beat.

Hey guys, I'd like to know if a VA or IPS panel is better in a higher price range or maybe if there do not differ. I've been looking at VA monitors like the MSI Optix MAG27CQ, MSI Optix MPG27CQ and IPS monitors like ASUS PG279Q ROG. The information I have is that VA panels have a worse colour repoduction but better contrast, is that also in that price range? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new CPU, mainboard and RAM because I'd like to game with 144Hz on WQHD (1440p) and I think my current rig is not that good for it, or am I wrong? CPU i5 4670 RAM 16GB DDR3 I'll buy a GTX 1080 very soon and would like to have a better CPU for that but unfortunately I will have to change the mainboard and RAM too if I get a new CPU like Ryzen or so. A 1150 CPU wouldn't make any sense to buy nowadays or not? So if just a newer 1150 CPU would make any sense please comment on that too! My budget is around 400$ (It can be a bit higher than that because I'm buying everything in an outlet store ;-) ) Thank you in advance for your time!!

Could need a bit of help. While enjoying gaming I'm not too deep into the hardware site so please, share your opinion, if this build of mine makes sense / there's something to improve. 1. Budget & Location: Around 2500€. Location: Germany 2. Aim: Mostly Gaming. In Fact, probably 95% the time I'll game or watch Netflix. Even more likely I'll do both at once. 3. Monitors: Currently 2x1080 (One gaming, one YouTube/Netflix, whatever), going to get myself a WQHD (WQHD 3440x1440, 100-120 Hz, AW3418DW). While keeping one 1080p Display for shenanigans, I'll sell or gift one of the displays. So a max 2 displays.4. 4. Peripherals Well I have a sound-card I would like to reuse - Creative ZxR (in fact, the only part I'll reuse. Everything else close to 8 years old). 5. Why are you upgrading? Why aren't you!? No, seriously, my PC is slowly dying. 2RAM Slots of 4 are broken, GPu died 3 months back, getting BSOD cause corrupted memory / Driver issues, Hard drives sometimes do just take naps and forget everything they did a second ago,... Could go on for a while. It's time to lay my PC to rest, it did well and I want to let it go out with grace. Just going to write a few notes why I did pick up the parts. Also, please note that the GPU is a placeholder just to keep track of the overall price. Will go for a new NVIDEA GPU, or at lease wait for the new release and compare. So if they aren't a total let-down, probably go with a new 1180/2080.. Oh, and the color theme is kinda white-silver-isch.
