Building my brother a pc to play WoW on (he's been playing on a laptop from 8 years ago under 10 fps). He will be playing on a huge 4k capable TV, however with a budget around $750 I want to aim for 1440p. He will probably only play WoW or less demanding older games and no real fps target other than around 60 (WoW fps varies pretty wildly area to area) I've poked some other minds and have decided on an 8gb 580 over the 6gb 1060 because the extra vram will help the higher resolution. Wanted to hear if theres any important upgrades/downgrades I should make to get the cheapest pc to get around 60fps at 1440p in WoW, and to hear if the xfx, which i have no experience with, gpu is about as reliable as the 10 dollar more expensive msi 580 with a slightly slower out of box clock speed. So a couple months ago I created a bootable USB for windows with microsoft's lil thing that you can get from their site. Now that I want to format it it will not format. I've tried clearing the attributes in diskpart, and I've tried to delete the whole partition in disk management. pls someone help me.

Not that I am rushing out to buy a system like this but think it would be good if Linus could break his 7000k + record on vine bench

I've sanded down the panel with 1000 grit and 2000 grit sand paper, and no matter how many times of sanded and polished it down it still has tiny scratches on some parts. It's the Enthoo Pro M Phanteks acrylic side panel.

So i am going to make a online computer webshop, in the netherlands And i put alot of computer Parts together online. Idk if they all are 100 procent Good. So I have an old q6600, p35 mobo, and 6gb of ddr2 in my 2nd rig. I got a nice deal on a Crosshair V Formula and will upgrade that rig to an FX cpu and 8gb of ram. Do you guys think I can trade my old CPU + MOBO + RAM for something like a hd 7850?

Hello everybody, i have just formated my hdd and i installed a fresh copy of windows 8.1 Industry pro (uni privilege). Everything is great compared to the windows 10 i had before. But my big issue is that wow has so shitty fps its not even funny. I was able to play on the 6th preset with about 40-60 fps, expect some deeps here and there, now i barely have over 30. CPU: AMD A10-5800K @4.1Ghz RAM: 8GB DDR3 @1866MHZ GPU: MSI Radeon R7 250 2GB @1130Mhz core and 980Mhz Memory Also i had the latest drivers for the GPU when i was playing on Windows 10 WOW is on version 7.3.2.25549

Hi,I have been hearing this electric sound in my headphones (Audio-Technica ATH-M50X) for quite awhile. It has been easy to ignore until today. When i fired up WoW couple of hours ago i started hearing this loud coil whine like sound through my headphones and also from inside the computer. It got worse when i opened up some in-game menus.Also my second monitor started making these shadowy waves rotating from top to bottom.I opened up the side panel and it seems like the sound is coming from the GPU. (GTX 770) I tested it with a different GPU (GTX 1060) and it still made the sound but not as loudly.I cap my fps at 60 in WoW. I cap my fps at 144 in LoL and my computer doenst seem to make the noise almost at all. What should i do? Replace PSU or MOBO?Specs:GTX 770i7-3770k @ 3.516GB DDR3 @ 1600ASRock z77 Extreme6Seasonic 660w P-660 (XP²) modular ATX-Power Supply, 80 Plus Platinum, semi-passive Edit: I have now swapped the PSU and GPU and i'm still having the sound occur. What should i do now? Change the mobo?

Hello PC geeks! I need your guidance in helping me better my build. 1. Budget & Location Preferably under 900$ and location is Ottawa, Canada. I am willing to nudge the budget up a bit if necessary. 2. Aim I am planning to build a new PC to play medium-end games like dota2, wow and possibly playing around with Source 2. These 2 are the most demanding program that I want to run, other stuff that I want to do are programming and some minor video editing (for bug reporting). 3. Monitors I already have an ASUS 1080p monitor and planning to get another one when I have the cash. 4. Peripherals Only Windows 10. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am using an old laptop to play my games, other than this microwave I have Surface 3 which is no good either lol. Hello everybody! I'm new here, and I'm about to build a new setup for my girlfriends brother. It's for playing WoW Legion and watching movies. He is using a dual monitor setup with 1080p monitors. Normally he is playing on one screen and watching movies on the other. The budget is 4-5000 DKK (600-750 USD). CPU: Intel I3-6100 (891 DKK) GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1060 SC Gaming 3GB (1785 DKK) Motherboard: MSI H170M PRO-VDH (678 DKK) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2133 8GB (single stick) (321 DKK) Storage: OCZ Trion 150 120GB (gonna find another HDD for data storage) (353 DKK) PSU: Corsair CX430M (409 DKK) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 3 (404 DKK) The components chosen are primarily because they give us the possibility to improve in the future (replace the CPU or add more ram and stuff). Did I miss anything, or am I all wrong on the components chosen?

Unfortunately my Windows 10 was set to do updates automatically and I came home yesterday to find that the newest update was installed on my pc. Now when I play games (any game) my computer will BSOD at a seemingly random point int time. At first it was happening every 5 minutes with the Access Violation error, but I fixed that by disabling the Game DVR thing. Now it seems to have a different error every-time it happens, but it usually says something about drivers. I tried updating and rolling the drivers to my 980Tis a few times, but that didn't work. Also MSoft decided to force me to use my email to sign into my computer now, and that's really annoying because other people use my computer sometimes and I don't want everyone knowing my email password. Should I just do a fresh install of W10? I actually bought a copy when I built my PC. -
Hello: First of all, thank you for your time and for trying to help me out. My macbook pro is a 13" (Late 2011) version. Ive had it for 5 years now. I do not use this macbook for gaming only, I do a lot of web browsing and college stuff. I know a very little about Microsoft computers but I really know nothing about Mac computers. During all this time I replaced the battery once, and replaced the original HDD for an SSD. SPECS: OS X El Capitan (Version 10.11.6) Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (2 memory slots) Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB Storage: 500GB SSD SATA (This one I bought it because the original one died) Link to full specs page: https://support.apple.com/kb/sp645?locale=en_US The game I play is World of Warcraft, and it ran perfectly all these years except now. It still runs well but when I play the laptop get very hot; it also is lags a little bit when opening and closing the game, and during loading screens. And it lags a lot when Im in crowded zones in-game. Anyways, my dilemma: Is there any way I could eliminate or reduce the heat when playing? Is there any way I could improve my gaming performance and eliminate the lag or reduce it significantly? If so, what is convenient to do? Add more RAM? I do not know if it is possible to add graphics card to a macbook pro. Should I improve this macbook? Or save and buy Windows computer or build my own system? Im open to all suggestions. BUDGET: $250-300 NOTE: I plan to play World of Warcraft for about 1-2 years more, so thats is why I do not want to spend much. Again, thank you!

hey so i just came back to WoW after 6 months due to Legion relaunch and i found that is not running well, altho i get 160fps+ on some areas most of the time is at the 25s and 40s im more than sure than my computer can run it at ultra settings with no problems at all with a OC GTX 970 (i mean the game recomended is an r7-260x), i mean its not even boosting at all and is constantly at 50% load im pretty sure it has to hit 100% on most games, and it does, just not in wow im not running anything like super sampling or a stupid AA solution, just the slider to the max

The penalties start at 24 hours of limited social interaction and double with each additional offence. There is no cap on the duration of this social time out. The system is triggered by multiple reports from multiple users and requires an actual person to review the case before any punishments are dealt out. The feature is set to roll out with the pre expansion patch 7.0. As a player that is, or at least was, heavily economy based; I would often hit trade chat with messages looking to buy materials or sell items such as pets. The spam portion has me a bit concerned for people who play similarly as there is no clear definition of spam at the moment. At least the manual review part leaves me feeling a little secure in that the system is not fully automated and likely to be abused.

So I am trying to refresh myself on lore and remember a cut scene where Lich King (Arthas) was confronted by either the Legion, Anub'arak, or scourge in general and stated he had a debt to pay... or essentially that his power went unchecked. I was thinking this was towards the end of the expansion. Any ideas? Please send me the link Lore wise it would make sense the Legion would be wanting to seek revenge since the LK was of demon creation, but also the when his power was weaken sylvannas would have wanted to kill him with the forsaken. The Anub's were his servants/necromancers so maybe they were ticked off.... I just remember that video and its bothering me.

So here's an interesting scenario. I have a CoolChip HPC (High Performance Cooler) on its way to me. This was a partnership between Coolermaster and Cool Chip to develop a kinetic air cooler. It uses no fans and instead spins the heatsink to disperse heat through the air. Some might argue it makes it an aircooler, but that like saying liquid cooling uses fans on the radiator and this instead uses a motor to turn the entire heatsink very quickly to disperse heat. I received it because a lot of computers I build are for military/ contractor applications, needing to withstand large amounts of torture testing, such as physical damage, dust, sand, extreme cold etc. Now this heatsink also has a super low profile and claims to be 2 times more efficient than the best air coolers at half the size based on its revolutionary design. That means it could be as good if not better than most liquid coolers with no risk to damage components and would be perfect for small form factor applications, maybe even better than liquid cooling for the same size. And, unlike fans, because the whole heatsink spins, it kicks of dirt and sand off of itself every time it spins. So any thoughts? Opinions? And I am sure I will post after I get some real testing done with a 4770k, 6700k and 5930k (might do a 6900k if I can get my hands on one in time).

(edited because premature posting) Hello everybody and anybody who might read this, A few days ago I've bought Overwatch for PC. On release day i was able to play no problem, but as of yesterday I found myself unable to connect to Battle.net inside the game and inside WoW (the battle.net launcher stays affected). As one naturally would, I contacted Blizzard through a ticket. As part of their normal connection diagnosis they request you show them some information, (which i will include in the attachments, but keep in mind these were made after removing tunnelbear). After which I got a return from Blizz that they suspect the background process "tbear . maintenance . exe" of being the culprit. I've installed the bear earlier this month in an attempt to get to the american netflix to no avail and so i was not using it and i've decided to just uninstall the program like they suggested. There do not seem to be any issues with either Overwatch or WoW servers, and i'm connected to their services through the battle.net launcher. Did I do anything wrong? Did there go anything wrong with removing tunnelbear? DxDiag.txt MSInfo32.nfo traceroute.txt

I am planning a $600ish build for my friend who wants to play WoW on it. I assume it will get the usual web browsing and stuff as well but I am not worried about that. Here is the link. The parts are Intel and nvidia because I like them. I do not know anything about the options on the AMD side. I read on a WoW forum that the game is CPU bound and has poor parallel processing so Intel CPU's are a better choice. I also think that a GTX 950 will be fine on the graphics side, but I have never played the game so I have no idea. I also might put in an SSD because it is probably worth the extra $40 or so for a good one. What recommendations do people have? I would like to stick with mATX if possible and there is no interest in overclocking. I'm not looking for crazy frame rates or anything, just playable on high to ultra and maybe drop it to medium for the 12 person raids.
