I bought the disc version of The Witcher 3 as I currently have a pretty strict data cap (Australia problems). I'm not sure what's happening but it wants to install with GOG? I want to install it to steam, is this possible? Thanks for your response.

I was planning on getting an R9 380X but its performance, although great against the GTX 960 4GB was good, didn't live up to my expectations on how it was going to perform in Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 (which are the games I'm looking forward to play this holiday) So I'm thinking that the Best GTX 970 around is the G1 Gaming from Gigabyte just because of the thermal image I saw from a review in Guru3D. I was originally thinking about getting a Strix but it seems the highest temperature it gets 83 degrees Celsius in one area of the card, and on Gigabyte the worst was actually 65 degrees Celsius. I think the temps has an overall impact on the cards' longevity. What do you guys think? Any owners out there?

So I was flicking through Maximum PC's website and came across this article: http://www.maximumpc.com/game-performance-using-different-storage-media/#page-1 The results of the test confirmed my pre-existing belief that SSDs for gaming don't really affect frame rates but substantially help reduce time spent in load screens. What I REALLY like about this article is the methods used to get the data and the wide scope of games used to test it with. This is definitely worth a read if you're curious about what different storage options will affect your game performance.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a good $200-$250 GPU to run Witcher 3 and even possibly later on...Fallout 4. Things I need to hear - •What Card (Can be brand specific or even model specific) •FPS you'll get with that card in what settings in Witcher 3 •Experience...could be the card that you have or something. By the way, just to put it here, I missed out on a sale of a GTX 780Ti Reference Card for about $300 I really wouldn't like spending much as I'm still using a 1080p monitor. Also, I might get an upgrade a couple of weeks after Pascal launches (whenever that is) There's been several performance improvements lately, so I don't think old benchmarks around about some GPUs matter when it comes it Witcher 3. That's why I would like to hear it personally from owners. Am I wrong or missing something here? ... Also, I'll probably get this along with a full system upgrade I can't imagine how it would run on a Sandy Bridge Core i3.

I think I might know what DRM-free means, but I don't really exactly know what it means and if someone were to ask me to explain it to them I wouldn't really be able to. So what makes GOG different from Steam,Origin,Uplay,Battlenet, etc. with the whole DRM-free feature? Which limitations are removed in a so called "DRM-free platform"?

So, I've had this build for a while now. I've been noticing that when i play Battlefront,Witcher 3, and GTA V that my fps only gets a boost of 10-20fps when i turn on Crossfire. My Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pQZLzy I've noticed on the internet that people are saying that AMD Crimson is having some issues when it comes towards Crossfire on these games. Can anyone help me find a solution about a certain profile for these games or can someone pass me a link to the latest CCC drivers before they went to Crimson? It seems on my computer i don't have the installers for the older drivers and i'm having issues on the AMD website to get older drivers. I'm truly saddened that AMD would let this kind of amazing feature be stomped on over a highly praised program they made.

Basically I'm getting an average of 40 that stutters and drops to 20 fps when I should be getting constant 60. (I practically copy pasted this from a dead Tom's Hardware thread that is now dead and no help) Specs: CPU: i5 4690 GPU: 2x XFX DD R9 290X 8gb Mobo: GA Z97x-SLI Ram: 8gb G. Skill 667mhz Hard drive: 1TB WD PSU: XFX Core Edition PRO850W I know that I should be getting 60fps average. Everything is turned up, except for Nvidia Hariworks. I'm running the 15.12 drivers and my cards are set in Uber mode with a clock speed of 1375. Whenever I run Heaven benchmark I get a score of 2500-600, and get a 60fps on the Shadow of Mordor benchamark at 4K. I also set the EnableTemporalAA=false in the rendering.ini file in the Witcher 3. I get practically the same fps with crossfire disabled. There is also a lot of sudden dips in fps and stutters while playing. GPU Usage during gameplay:

Source: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-responds-witcher-3-gameworks-controversy/ (...) It’s quite unfortunate that Nvidia has taken this recent turn with GameWorks towards locking code and limiting control. A future where the competitors’ only choice is to fill the game with even more proprietary code of their own to compete is not one that gamers or developers will want or appreciate. Read more: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-responds-witcher-3-gameworks-controversy/#ixzz3aUcXvQ2v The way I see it, proprietary technology and its use in games, is taking a dangerous turn. What has been a nuisance in the past, now is becoming an actual problem. Especially that previously any "day one" performance issues could be usually fixed with an after release patch. Like when AMD featured TressFX in Tomb Raider (2013), that was patched to be handled efficiently on Nvidia cards. Now tables have turned and as CDPR representative stated in the article, in the case of Witcher 3, the usage of basically Nvidia locked features, on both AMD and Nvidia cards with similar results is not possible. A shame really, that we are forced to choose one vendor over the other in order to get "the full experience".

Been playing Witcher 3 and have spent more time playing Gwent than the actual game. Anyone else done this? What strategies do you use? Personally I bait them out of cards in first round (and play my spies) then use just enough to win second and crush them third. Preferred decks and deck building. Where to get good cards? extra...

Hello people, I was talking to a mate of mine today about our decisions in Witcher 3 so far. This got me thinking, are there are decisions you wish you had/hadn't made in the game? This was one of the first things I noticed about Witcher 3, the decisions you make really affect people and they aren't clear cut at all. I'm going to wrap this in a spoiler despite tagging this with spoilers.

Hey, I've never used gog.com before for games, but my question is, If I use the free voucher code that comes with a gtx 970 to get The Witcher 3 on GoG.com, will I be able to use this game on more then one computer. Because right now I don't have access to my desktop, only to my laptop, so if I redeem it on my laptop now, then in say a month I want to play it on my desktop, would I be able to? And how? Thanks in advance! (The reason I want to redeem it now is because I don't want the voucher code to expire, I wont be playing it on my laptop)

The Witcher 3's May 19th release is only two weeks away. Today GMG cut the upcoming title's price from $59.99 to a mere $38.99. That makes the lowest price yet from a digitally authorized retailer. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt — $31.20 (list $60) Edit: use this code 20OFFE-RENADB-SJUGCV for another 20% off (YMMV) GMG typically has coupon offers, but this one is a straight up instant discount. No coupons will stack with this discount for more savings. Word from GMG is this will probably end tomorrow. Update: Found a 20% off code that works on the game somehow. YMMV on that one.

Hello, LinusTechTips Forum members! I would like to ask your opinion/advice on a build I'm looking for but not quite sure it's the best/most safe. I'm not really any professional in this field because I only lookup this stuff when upgrading my PC. Budget: ~1500 Euros max Location: Latvia (the PC part retailers buy parts somewhere from Poland's warehouses, not sure which one is the best) Aim: To be able to enjoy Witcher 3, GTA V and Batman: Arkham Night on maximum settings Reason for upgrade: I cannot enjoy a great game anymore (like GTA V - my MSI GTX 560 Ti gives only max 30.0 FPS, big aim delay) Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster TA350 22" (would like to upgrade to one 144Mhz monitor with display port) Peripherals: (not planning to upgrade; satisfied with them) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K90 Mouse: Logitech G9X Headphones: ROCCAT kave Existing build: Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z68A-D3H-B3 CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz GPU: MSI N650GTX-Ti TWIN FROZR II 2GD5 Memory: Corsair Dominator 8GB Dual Channel Soundcard: Soundblaster Recon3D (waste of money for me because I can't tell any difference from on-board sound card) SSD: Patriot Pyro 120GB and Samsung 250GB 840 EVO PSU: Chieftec 750W 14CS Case: Thermaltake VM3000 series V4 Black (not glad I bought it - no room for cable management, the mounts for HDDs/DVDs are not removable) New build: PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xkNLBm( my best try ) CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 7 ATX LGA1150 Memory: Corsair Dominator GT 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze My preferences: CPU: should be unlocked - overclock-able (high end but not the most expensive) CPU Cooler: price/performance GPU: I think the selected model is good price/performance Motherboard: good networking, isolated sound (from noises) Memory: I want to get 16GB with 4GB x 4 (2 already existing from old build) Case: with removable 2.5", 3.5" mounts to have better airflow, to be possible to add more 12mm silent fans Power Supply: to be able to overclock my CPU and Memory. Plan: Take out the 2 memory cards and 250 GB SSD from old build and put it in to the new build. The old PC probably will be given to my parents or something (will buy some reasonable 4GB memory). Best regards, jarmenz P.S. Thanks for reading and I apologize for my first post being long !

So I'm preparing to upgrade to a 980 or 980 ti for the release of Witcher 3 played on a 1440p monitor (buttery smooth frames here I come!). I have my old GTX 580 hanging around and it has served me very well these past 3 years. I don't want to just chuck the card out, could i conceivably use the 580 for a physx card with the 980/980ti without bottle necking the 980? My instinct tell me yes but i'm unsure. My PSU can handle the wattage as it is rated for 1000W (ahhhh, the SLI that never happened, damn college does that to you, but i've saved up). The 580 may be power-hungry overkill for physx but I already own the card and I kinda want to render Witcher 3 in all of its glory on the ultra settings with all the hair and environment physics turned on.

So I got a Witcher 3 product key that you will have to register at redeem.GeForce.com In order to be entered into the drawing, just post something in this thread, and I will private message you. I will choose a winner sometime around when I get my new card (I know the 300 series is due soon). You get bonus points for posting something interesting, whether it be a picture, quote, joke, or anything really. If i see you posted multiple times you will not be eligible, so if you have anything to say, say it in your first post. (Was going to have a poll but didn't click finish, so if anyone read that disregard it) Have fun!

Post will be updated when the giveaway has ended If you havent been living under a rock recently, you may know that Witcher 3 is soon to be released. I have one Witcher 3 code to give out after buying a GTX 970. I am not a fan of the Witcher series and none of my friends are into RPGs, so I decided to give it away to one of the members of the LTT forum. The giveaway will end whenever Newegg emails me the code. The exact minute they email me the code, the contest will be ended, any entries after that will not be counted (probably Tuesday 4/7/15 as email delivery tends to be next business day). If you win, I will notify you through LTT PM and send the code through your desired method of delivery (must be free of cost for me). You must respond to my PM withing 24 hours or the code will be resent to another applicant That is all. Good luck to you all, and may the luckiest one win Here is some Witcher 3 art to motivate you Looks Beautiful To choose a winner I will be choosing a random number out of the ones listed below from Random.org.
