Hello all. I've looking around for a new wired headset or headphones with a third-party attachable mic like the V-MODA BoomPro. The price range is up to £100. Suggestions greater than £100 can be considered, but since I am not the only one paying for it, it would be very unlikely that we would go for that headphone/headset if the price differs greatly from £100. The budget must include the price of any additional items suggested and based upon UK prices - we will be most likely be going for Amazon.co.uk so that we can try a variety of headphones/headsets and take advantage of their return policy. The main purpose of these headphones/headsets will be gaming on games where voice communication will be reasonably important (Arma 3 via TS3), but not for professional purposes like streaming/recording. Particular features of interest are: over-ear, open or closed (suggestions on both would be nice); stereo sound output (couldn't really care about surround sound, virtual or not); wired, preferably with a cable that can be detached from the headphones if I am using something like the V-MODA BoomPro; reasonably clear microphone (able to pick up a somewhat-deep soft-spoken voice) that doesn't pick up too much background noise (there is a lot of background noise); microphone must be attached to the headphones since there are not many good places to mount a boom arm or place a stand. I realise that the fourth bullet point might be a difficult task to achieve, so it is preferred to not pick up too much background noise over worrying about slight muffling. Many thanks, Melonize.

Why guys at LTT use wired mouse at least for editing and not for gaming despite highly advanced and expensive setups, as also there are high dpi wireless mice available in the market ?

I am looking for wired noise canceling headphones around 100 USD any recommendations? I was originally looking at Audio-Technica ATHm20x, but because I'm going to be traveling I thought noise canceling headphones would be better. but are the m20x's decent at cutting out some noise?

I am looking for some recommendations for wireless (or possibly wired) headphones preferably less than $200 dollars. I currently have an iPhone 7 and use wired headphones that run through a headphone jack to thunderbolt adapter. The idea with a wireless headphone purchase would be to eliminate the problem of simultaneous charging and listening. However, I am also worried that this solution is going to replace the occasional issue of needing to charge my phone while wanting to listen to something with the likely much more common issue of having headphones with no charge left. I am therefore also interested in any wired headphone recommendations. Any comments on this issue would be appreciated. I am not very picky about audio quality. The threshold at which I stop hearing the difference in quality is relatively low. Additionally, I mostly listen to podcasts and audiobooks, not music. So if there are headphones that somehow make voices clearer to understand, that would be a desired feature. Which ever solution (wired or wireless) I go with, I will be stuffing these headphones in my pockets a lot. I usually loop the headphones in a figure 8 coil before doing so, but this strategy for avoiding knots and undesirable wire stresses only works if I take them out of my pocket again after an hour or less. After that, they are knotted just as badly as a traditional circular coil. This headphone storage choice has made me a destroyer of wired headphones (I think I go through 2-3 pairs per year). All of these have been cheaper pairs since I know I tend to break them. Are there pairs that advertise anti-knotting or greater reliability / lifetime before a wire inevitably breaks?

Hey LTT Fellas, Need a suggestion in buying over the ear headphones or earbuds which can be both wired or wireless (preferable) around 15,000 INR (~220 USD). Basically I'm a bass head, and I would love some extra punch and if it comes with codecs like aptX it would be awesome. Please suggest me some headphones or earbuds. For this price range if it's with ANC, I would definitely go with it. Please post some suggestions. Ty in advance. Sites from which I would buy. Amazon India Headphone Zone Flipkart Paytm Mall Thanks and Regards, Yash

My home network is made up of a router, and four desktops connected via ehternet cables, and ocasionally, some smartphones via WiFi. Our ISP provides a guaranteed 50/20 MBits down and up, and on three out of the four desktops we achieve around 70 both up and down. My issue is, that on the fourth PC, we can only get results of around 10 MBits both down and up. So far, I've updated the BIOS, the LAN driver, reinstalled Windows, and also tried swapping cables, but my PC got the same 70/70 results, whereas my brother's PC only recieved his usual speeds of 10/10, so for me, that means that the cables are fine. My brother has recently moved out for a few months, and at the other location, he has managed to achieve the speeds provided by the ISP over there, without any issues, which lead me to think that it's not his motherboard causing the issue. I've also messed with the Duplex settings within Windows, and disabled any bandwith restrictions on both the router and in Windows, but I couldn't make any progress. Could you guys give me some feedback on what should I try next? Thank you for your replies in advance

I hate "in-ear earbuds." I don't like the the ones that latch onto the outside of your ear either. I really like the apple "earpods" ( the wired ones that come standard with a normal headphone jack ) but, this is the only apple product I purchase anymore. As I break my earbuds a lot, I am looking for a better value earbud that isn't "in-ear." I can't stand the sound isolation, or the general discomfort they come with. ( if you are replying to try to convince me to use those, don't. please. ) basically looking for earbud style headset for phone calls / decent audio for general music and podcast listening on the go. Any suggestions? my other audio gear for context: - ATH-m50x headphones for when I (sort of) care about audio quality and don't mind carrying them. - Sennheiser Game One headset that is tied to my desk for gaming.

I'm looking for a keyboard and a mouse to buy but I was wondering if there were ones that worked both wireless and wired. Does anybody know if this exists?

Alright guys, I've been trying to do some research, but I may be at my wits end and was hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on the subject. I'm looking for a router that is extremely reliable. I do not want momentary outage blips, for it to be able to get overloaded by my use cases, or really do anything other than provide a solid, stable connection 24/7. And just to be clear, I am very specifically talking about a router, any kind of wireless capability is inconsequential, as I have UniFi WAPs to handle all of my wireless needs. A wired router to do DHCP/NAT/Port Forwarding/Firewall and other routing functions is all I need. The issue is, almost anywhere I look, any mention of "router" brings up results for wireless routers, which are not what I need. I do not want a multipurpose machine that is alright at two different things rather than great at a single thing (Unless it truly does have a rock solid routing portion). Plus, they're always talking about the wireless capabilities, rather than the reliability of the actual router function of the hardware. I have seen a lot of talk regarding creating a pfsense router, which is not out of the question, but as I am not a business, just a home with lots of devices/file transfers/plex streaming/game servers, I don't know if there is something out there already that would do just as well. I know that all of this may seem a little overkill when discussing a router for a home network, but I've had so many network issues over the years that I'm fine going overkill if that means I have rock solid stability for as long as possible. Additionally, tech projects are a hobby of mine, so I don't mind spending some money if that's what it comes down to, as I'll have fun doing it. Last thing I should mention, my home network is currently gigabit, so old server routers that are only 100T are something I would prefer to avoid (Wouldn't that create a bottleneck?) Thank you to everyone who decides to help! Edit: Here is some basic information about what I'm dealing with, skipped my mind to provide it previously. My current router (that I will not have for much longer) is a T-Mobile branded ASUS AC1900 functioning solely as a router (as in the wireless portion is not used), which I have to periodically power cycle due to it ceasing functions until it is power cycled. As for the demands of my network, it varies, but at absolute peak times, there are 5 desktops, 3 laptops, a Plex server, 3 TVs using chromecasts/similar streaming devices, around 10 phones, a tablet or two, and two consoles.

I have a (x years old) Corsair Vengeance M95 USB wired gaming mouse and a Corsair M65 Pro USB wired gaming mouse. I've noticed there seems to be a noticeably larger amount of input lag with the M95 than the M65, And I was considering replacing the M95 for my laptop with a wireless gaming mouse. Is it possible for certain wired USB gaming mice to have MORE input lag than certain wireless gaming mice? I play FPS games typically with maxed out DPI (12,000 on my M65 Pro) and low in game sensitivity, because I prefer my micro movements to register input.. Can anyone recommend me a good high DPI, low latency wireless gaming mouse?

Hello, I have an iPhone X and the Sony MDR-XB950BT and I wanted to find out if I were to plug the headphones into my iPhone (using the included adapter) if the sound quality would be higher than that of Bluetooth. I use Spotify and the music quality is set to 'Extreme.' Let me know. Richard

Hi, I have been looking into getting a nice pair of in-ear headphones and found the Shure SE215 here. I really like them for the (supposedly) good sound quality and particularly for the option to interchange individual parts which guarantees a long life-span. However, I am now torn between paying ~120€ for the wired SE215 incl. the in-line remote (which is important to me) and ~140€ for the BT-version (which comes with the remote). I am willing to pay the extra 20€ for the flexibility, that comes with wireless headphones, however, I have always had a problem with the constant humming that I experienced with all of the BT-headphones I have tried (both cheap in-ears I owned and the Bose QE my friend owns). So, how much is audio quality affected by BT? Do I get (close to) the same quality with the wireless version + added flexibility? Or am I limiting the quality the buds could produce by having the input be wireless? Thanks a lot!

Hi community! I am gonna buy a headset and what do you think should i get? the wired but cool G633 Artemis Spectrum with RGB or wireless but plain G533? I don't find anything special from wireless headsets (can be great for a phone that has no headphone jack), but I found that mixing audio signals would be a thing for me (2 sound inputs on G633 vs 1 sound input on G533) since i found myself using PC and Phone together. my phone has headphone jack tho the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note so i guess that is something, they both sound probably the same as they uses the pro g drivers that the G933 has so it mainly comes if i will go for RGB or convenience. So what are your thoghts on these headphones? I found both for $112 (weird tho) so i am not sure which to get. Thank you!

Hello comrades, I moved into an apartment with my wife about 4 months ago and though our internet service is fantastic (gigabit), there are a few problems with it. Our apartment has a networking closet with ethernet connections to outlets in nearly every room, so initial setup was pretty easy. Unfortunately networking is my weakness when it comes to computers so I thought I'd reach out to the community for advice. Here's what our network looks like right now: The reason I use the AT&T modem as a switch is twofold: It has very few wireless network settings and generally is a little glitchy. It is in the study's closet, inside a wire closet. The reception to the rest of the apartment is not good. I'd like to be able for the desktops to see the printers, but they can't. I'd also like to connect an external HDD to the ASUS router or a desktop that always stays on to serve as a mini-filesharing device. I'll upgrade to a NAS later for our media. The problem I think is that I've essentially created two networks: Devices on the AT&T wired network such as the desktop cannot see things like the printer, but devices on the ASUS wireless/wired network can see the printer (it's on the same network). I need to somehow bridge these networks. I tried to open an AP from the AT&T modem just to connect to in order to print, but the desktops don't have wireless so that really doesn't help anything. The printer is wireless only and the phones can already see and print to it since they're on the same network. The AT&T router is directly connected to the ASUS router, so it should be super easy for me to do this, I just don't know enough about networking. I've attached the Visio file if that helps. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice. network diagram.vsdx

i am planning to buy a good quality headphones(most probably Bluedio UFO+), and while we know that wired audio quality vs wireless audio quality is a debatable topic but i still believe wired audio quality is superior and so i am planning to use the headphones only via their wired connection and pretend the wireless feature doesn't exist.........so i need to know if never charging the headphone's battery(not even the first charge) will have any adverse effect on the cans(battery corrosion, leaking etc...)?? Agreed it's a stupid question but i am a newb and would appreciate any help.........sorry for my bad english in advance.

My four year old logitech g430's are finally wearing out and I'm looking to upgrade to a significantly better pair of headphones around $150. I'm looking for over-ear and preferably open back and wireless, however I wouldn't mind wired or closed, I don't need noise cancellation or a microphone but I wouldn't turn it down with them. This is my first time exploring the headphone market and the amount of options there appear to be is overwhelming, however the research I have done have led me to a couple of options. Sennheiser HD 4.40s, Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7s, Sony XB650BTs (there's so many different wireless sonys around this price) and CB3 Hush (from this article.) I plan to purchase around black friday/cybermonday deals and I'm mostly looking for more researched or experienced opinions. I have a behringer UM2 audio interface for my microphone that has "Powerful Phones output with Level control" the only specs I could find in the owner's guide is a 10-30kHz frequency response and 0 dBu max output. I have no dedicated soundcard and my MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard has a Realtek ALC887 codec.

Hi I'm trying to set up a NETGEAR router as an Access Point. The master router is also NETGEAR. I'm trying to use the Access Point to connect both Wired PCs and then a Wireless connections for our Phones and Tablets. It seems whenever the access point works for wireless the Ethernet connections won't transmit data, and vise versa, if Ethernet is working, the wireless will stop working. It's almost as if the Access Point is swapping from wireless to wired transmission. Is this a common issue? I've spent years off and on again trying to figure this out, so I have some knowledge know of networking, but I'm certainly no expert so I could be missing something obvious. I'd appreciate any suggestions or help you might be able to offer. Thanks, Zac

Hey guys! (TL;DR available) I currently have an EoP set-up from my modem to a secondary router in another room about 30m away, however desipite the EoP being rated 500mbps (which is supposed to be 10MB/s correct?), I'm only getting ~4.5 MB/s. My ISP provides 100 mbps, and my wireless speeds at the modem reach ~95, however over the EoP the maximum I get is between 45 and 50 mbps. Wireless is not an option for my PC, as there are too many double-brick walls between the PC and modem. I will suggest a theoretical solution, and if anyone can tell me if it will work/have tried it before: Say I have a pair of Ethernet over power devices that are 200m apart and i will call them A and B. Say the speed A receives from the internet modem is 100Mbps, however there is a loss of 20 Mbps over the EoP connection. It I place another pair of EoPs (called C and D) between A and B*, would this reduce the amount of bandwidth loss over the network? *(where A would connect to C 100m apart, and then C connects to D directly next to C, which then links to B 100m away) TL;DR would adding a second pair of ethernet over power adapters between a current set reduce speed loss over the network?
