update revert Windows still measing up with my wifi drivers/card
Wing_Assault posted a topic in Windows
Guys last night I updated my windows. I have a Qualcomm wifi card and its respective driver. My wifi router can support speed upto 10Mbps (1 MBps). But after update I am only getting speeds upto 400Kbps which is insane. I am only reciveing the native speed only by sitting just near therouter. I did a driver update and it no change was seen. I uninstalled and installed the wifi driver again and still showed no promise. Further I did a troubleshoot and saw some errors which was fixed automatically, still no improvement in speed. I reverted the update and the problem seemed to be solved. But after reinstalling my AMD radeon drivers it kicked back again. But this time when ever I plugged in the charger, I cant even connect to my wifi. Wifi works pretty well if I unplug the charger. Should I restore windows to its factory version? Guys please help I cant play fortnite ?- 6 replies

Hey guys. I just updated my laptop to the latest version of Windows 10 1903. I will be downloading the update while studying and install the updates at the end of the day. I will put my lap on sleep when I take some breaks. But after the latest update, after downloading the new patches, my pc will show a blue screen error at around 11:00 pm randomly. It also shows an error code Memory error. But my laptop has 16 gigs of ram and has a 1 TB mechanical hard disk. After the blue screen error, the system reboots and shows updating pc. It's soo annoying. After the update, it messed up my firefox plugins and layout. What will be the reason behind this? It happed a couple of times.

so a couple of days ago ( Sunday March 24th ) i did a windows update on my alienware laptop before this update my laptop worked perfectly fine and i had no issues then after this update, my hard drive would not stop running at 100%, and no matter what i did, i could not for the life of me not make it run 100% so then i started doing all the trouble shooting in the world, until my laptop became so corrupted that i was forced to completely wipe the hard drives ( they are in raid 0 ) and do a fresh install of windows 10 home and after a fresh install of windows 10 home, i am STILL getting the same problem and even after this, i tried all the trouble shooting techniques from stop certain services, messing around with drivers, messing around with virtual memory and for the life of me, nothing is working at all and its really starting to frustrate me because this should not be a problem at all, as i said my laptop was working perfectly fine after this, so there is no excuse for this nonsense so if there is any tech wizards out there that can spread some magic over i would greatly appreciate it my specs: 18" alienware laptop i7 4700MQ 16 GB of ram ( don't know the speed or type, but its probably dd3 ) geforce 770m graphic card x2 in SLI x2 750 GB hard drives in raid 0 windows 10 home

Hello guys. My computer updated last week the windows, and (I had a busy time) I just got to turn On today, and for my surprise, Wi-Fi disappeared, from the side menu and also at the Settings. When I try to troubleshoot, it says: Killer network adapter has a driver or a hardware issue, but I just can't find how to fix it. Can someone help, please? My computer is a proudly MSI GS40. Thanks for any answer. Edit: Just found an answer at Microsoft but I guess didn't work, there is no settings to wifi available.

gtx 1660 ti Error Code 43 (pink horizontal dashes)
Ijustwantmypcfixed posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello all, I recently put together a system a few months ago I linked the specs as a photo below. The build ran fine for about a month and a half until I ran into the first occurrence of the pink dashes. It was after I updated drivers like an idiot but it went away after a reboot so it was fine. It happened again 2 weeks ago but this time much worse I got error code 43. I tried many things to fix it like: -Updating bios -DDU and reinstalling older drivers -Resetting PC -Re-sitting Video Card -Contacted Nvidia support and downloading hot fix At that point I gave up and powered down the pc for the night and unplugged the power. After I had woken up and booted up the pc everything was in perfect working order. There was no difference in performance or anything. This “fix” lasted until last night where my monitors literally flashed white blinding me and froze. I power cycled the pc and when I turned it on I was met with the pink dashes again my second monitor got no signal and I was back to error 43. My restore points that I had saved magically disappeared as-well. This time I tried a lot of other options out of desperation, -Downloading GeForce Experience, it would say no driver detected and after updating through GE it would still show that I needed to update. -Removing video card, using DDU, replacing card and updating drivers -Checking for viruses -Resetting PC again -Letting windows update drivers (which would say it encountered an error) -Stopping Windows updates I already have it set in my mind that I will buy a new card but is there someone that knows how to fix this issue while I wait? I also don’t have another pc to test the card in because I am overseas. -
Hey guys, so Im really in desperate need of help over here, getting Ryzen 3600 up and running. Quick recap, so you know where I'm at: - Started off on Wednesday with: out of the box 3000 ready B450 board (MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max) - After initial setup of windows: kept getting BSODs and had programs crashing etc. [MSI Live Update apparently did not pull the latest BIOS version. So I tried to manually update the latter, which I could only get running after complete disassembly and using the Flashback option on my board] - I get back into Windows 10, everything updated etc.: but still random BSODs, programs just shutting down, or not opening up at all. - I've used: chkdsk sfc /scannow DISM commands (the one that gets missing data from online, dont remember it right now but I can look up if necessary) sfc then said there were no issues detected anymore atfer reinstalling League of Legends, I got crashes again and sfc reported faulty data yet again - So I have turned to the hardware side of things: another one of my SSDs is now in use [The SSD has been formatted on my laptop and worked as a boot drive flawlessly before - on my older 6600k system] - I get into WIN10 install utility and proceed to select Win 10 pro. - At like 80% of the 2nd install step, i get a popup basically saying Windows couldnt be installed "Error code: 0x8007025d" - I google that, seems to be an issue with RAM. - I swap out my Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2133 Mhz, for a backup ddr4 stick I once bought on sale, thinking another machine was broken. [Ballistix sport Gaming Memory 2400 Mhz] So at this point I have: a new board new cpu backup ram in use changed the SSD All I actually migrated is the PSU and GPU (which wasnt the point of the upgrade in the first place.....) I successfully installed win 10 pro and immediately go to windows update, not installing any programs etc. so I hopefully dont get any software conflicts that bring me back to the sfc and dism debacle. Like the 2nd thing being installed (within Windows Update - some cumulative update, i think 1903) freezes at 73%. The PC doesnt really respond anymore. I was able to move the window of Windows Update around, but i couldnt minimize it, right click on homescreen or taskbar etc. So I shut the PC down, check my BIOS settings. Everything set to auto, Speeds and Voltages seem all alright. Temperatures are ok. There seems to be no wrong setting or failing hardware. (I have AHCI and CSM with legacy support enabled. Selecting UEFI wouldnt let me boot into the Win 10 setup on the USB stick in the first place) Windows boots up successfully and gets back to updating and actually finishes one update. Then it said "requires a restart". So I do that since I wanna do everything step by step and just get this damn machine up and running. Now Im stuck in a Shut down -> POST beep (I knew why to activate that -.-) -> Win attempting to repair -> Blackscreen and repeat. Im really at my limits. I never had to check my BIOS this many times, thinking I did sth wrong. I didnt even spend as much time in BIOS or Windows Setup Process overclocking, let alone initially setting up my 6600k. And back then, that was my first PC. Please tell me what to do now, since my troubleshooting just doesnt cut it apparently. Im running in circles. I thought that after a couple of months everything would be at least stable enough to get it running. Its been like 20 hrs tinkering with this machine and despite the great value Ryzen offers, Im about to ditch this whole accumulation of worries and problems and get a fkn mac mini for christs sake. I just wanted more performance for making music (SMT). I was so excited. Deciding between 3600 and 3700x took me months. But by the time I get this load of *** running, I could probably already have recorded a whole album on my laptop about how horrifying ryzen 3000 was to me - at least so far. This is the first time Im just really tilted and out of solution - attempts PC wise, so I apologize for my salty attitude here I hope you guys understand. Y'all are my last resort before i return this machine tomorrow, cuz these 300 bucks definitely didnt make me wanna throw 500 tantrums a day. Greetings, Chris!

Hey all, Built my system 1 roughly 1 year ago, Specs: ASUS Strix 370E-Gaming I7-8700K OC to 5.15Ghz 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB pro, 3600 clock XMP 2x 1TB Evo 960s in raid 0 2080Ti Windows 1909. About 6 hours ago today I was just using my PC as normal OW on one screen and a stream open on the other when my computer DSOD on an IRQL not less than or equal error. NBD I have had this happen a few times as this was common when the 2080ti first launched and it had been about 2 months since the last time it occurred. however after this most recent instance of the crash I no longer get video out of the graphics card. I go through my POST make it to the windows loading splash screen and then both my displays report "No signal detected" I have tried may things in the last 6 hours, I booted into safemode to download the latest driver from NVIDIA and installed it, weird thing was that GeForce Experience did not recognize that I had just installed the driver it presented as if it needed to install again. After trying some other things including DDU again I reinstalled windows. After I clean installed I started the updating process, and installed 1703. Windows auto installed an old nvidia driver, and BOOM I had two outputs through my GPU on my desk top. I went to continue to updated windows to 1709 and after a while got back to the sign in page with both monitors still, then, my primary display just turned grey for a while and then both monitors reported no inputs again..... I updated the graphics card driver to the latest and it was reported as installed under device manager but again GeForce Experience did not recognize it as installed.... I then continued to update windows in hopes something would write whatever has happened and got to 1909 which is current. I got to my desk top for about 10 seconds with both displays before both screens died and reported no inputs again. I am done trying for the day and will clean install windows again tomorrow as that lead to the most promise and skip 1709 withe the unified updated patch tool, to see if that solves anything. the only other thought i have would be the BIOS on the GPU got corrupted, in which, that is beyond my depth of PC knowledge. If anyone has any ideas I am more than open to hear them. thanks for your help in advance. tl:dr No display after POST from GPU, currently suspect windows 1709 as the problem. tried about everything I can think of. potential solutions becoming out of my depth.

I've tried searching for answers to the below question with no avail. 1) When will the Windows 7 Update Servers (the servers that host all the OS updates for Win7) be turned off? i.e. when you install Win7 from its SP1 disc, when will Windows Update either not work or will not be able to download any updates from the server beyond the SP1 package you installed from. 2) As the latest disc/iso version of Win7 is SP1, is there a complete or near complete update package available from somewhere? i.e. instead of having to go through all the downloading of updates and reboots, is there an additional package you can download and put on a USB key to have Win7 fully or almost fully updated without having to go through the normal update procedure.

Really starting to seem incompetent, but I just reinstalled Windows 10 on an old machine off of my nearly 4-year old installation DVD, as we don't have any USB sticks at hand(apparently), and I was just trying to update to the newest version of Windows after Lightroom told me the currently installed one was too old. Only problem now, it won't let me update, instead it tells me where is a problem with the error code 0x80240fff. Already tried running windows' own troubleshooting thingy and restarting a couple of times, but nothing's changed as of yet. Any input on the matter would be more than welcome... Thanks in advance!

Hello, yesterday my pc force updated itself while I was out walking with my dog. When I got back from the walk the pc was processing the update for about an hour, until the completing stage finally began. And the computer finally started rebooting after one hour + of waiting, here's where the problem occurred. My pc booted a lot more than it should've done, but I just ignored it and kept looking at my phone. This repeated about 20+ times before I got bothered by it and realized that something is not right. Before I knew my pc is stuck in an infinite boot loop, I let it boot a few more times while I looked at the screen, just to see if it was a part of the update sequence. It wasn't, so I powered off the pc like I've done other times when something gets stuck and it usually works, but this time it didn't, it just keeps on restarting. I've tried some widows commands without any success, for example, F8 or F10, as for the 3 boot fail method on windows, to try and get the pc to boot into safe mode/secure boot. At this point, I've tried everything to my knowledge and I can't seem to figure it out. I would appreciate a response on how to cope with this since I work from home and my work depends on my computer. I recorded the boot-up process on my phone for y'all to look at, the quick error message displayed is in Swedish. Heres the translation to English=" message one: Trying to restore the installation, message two: regretting/undoing the changes made to your computer" and then it restarts. A little side note, no clue if it's relevant or not but might be good to include, tried to go to the secure erase option on my system SSD drive in BIOS, and noticed that it is in a "Frozen Status" can this be the cause? If possible, it would be awesome to be able to fix this problem without having to do a system reset. Since I'm posting this from my work laptop, I don't have a way to do a file backup, and I have work-related files that are important. So maybe I can just reset my system drive and reinstall Windows. A quick note, I'm not that experienced when it comes to hard drives and resets, so, please I might just be speaking nonsense atm so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance Computer specs Motherboard: B150I PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA Bios Ver.2606 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU 3.50GHz GPU: Asus GTX970 4GB PCI-E TURBO Memory: 2x Corsair 8192MB 2133 MHz DDR4 Storage: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250 GB (System drive), WDC WD20EZRX-22D8PB0 2TB(HDD) Example: IMG-0569 (convert-video-online.com) (1).mp4

So I was updating my custom built pc but then the display wouldn't apprear so I waited and then closed the pc and reopened it and it worked. I tried to update again, same thing happened, I attempted the same thing and now it still won't display. The keyboard and mouse leds aren't on so it's probably a pc issue. Thanks for the help

Sources: The Verge, Microsoft I'm waiting Microsoft. But to cut them some slack, it's not like they're the only ones who experiences software fiascoes because of the fact that humans are imperfect and software flaws are expected. iOS 6's amazing maps app that lead to Scott Forstall's departure from Apple Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz (especially the ones in Galaxy S3, Note 2 and S4) Android 3.0 Honeycomb and 5.0 Lollipop (I detest the Lollipop update on my LG G3) iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra Unlike Apple who has to hone specifically on Macs alone (and they have no responsibility to fix kernel panic issues in Hackintosh users), Windows 10 is installed on many types of hardware configurations so optimizing for each configuration is not easy. Apple even promised more under the hood refinements with iOS 12 and macOS Mojave. I can't speak about macOS because I don't have a Mac at the moment but I'll say that iOS 12 is probably the smoothest iOS release ever. They delivered on the promise of improved performance on older hardware. I didn't knew until now that testing of Windows 10 was once just developer testing, no wonder the October update is buggy that it randomly deletes files (Who needs a ransomware infection when you can just update Windows 10? ). I'm glad that Microsoft is finally coming to their senses and they even boasted that incidences have decreased with each update. I think Microsoft is way too generous with their own bar graph. I bet there are more Windows 10 complaints especially the Anniversary and October 2018 update. But I would say the Fall Creators Update is probably the most polished Windows 10 I've used. But of course this just speaks about better under the hood performance and not the other complaints like giving the option to defer updates for Home users just like in Windows 7 and 8.1 and turning off Telemetry for consumers and not just Enterprise users that doesn't require Registry changes. But this begs the question, what took them so long to realize that Windows 10 needs more under the hood fine tuning instead of adding more features that only a few will ever use?

So I had a windows update ready, and decided to install it. Afterwards, I log in and get greeted with a completely black screen, aside from my mouse (no response to right click). At best I can open task manager and use ctr+alt+delte, but that's about all I seem to be able to do. After booting into safe mode I can now get back into windows, but some things are still borked. For example, I can't use the search bar, or the start menu, and in the settings menu auto-crashes if I select devices or update & security, meaning that it doesn't seem likely I'll be able to roll back to the previous version. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I have automatic updates on my windows 10 pro. It has installed windows 10 1803 and I want to update it with windows 10 1809. For that, I have tried "windows update assist" and "media creation tool", USB flash drive, ISO file etc. But didn`t updated. After a soft restart at the starting "Undoing the changes"?. So I tried to delete the last update by booting into "safe mode", but I realised that after starting the safe mode the explorer.exe was crashing. I was only able to open windows settings (not control panel) by pressing "windows key + i". I also tried to run from run.exe by pressing "windows key + r" it also crashes randomly and if it works it is not opening the "control panel"? The PowerShell option is also used but not working for me. The explorer.exe working fine in normal mode. So pl guide me what should I do???

I clean installed Windows 10 (while my internet was down). When I got back online, I downloaded my Windows updates. However, this gave me red exclamation mark which went away after restarting Windows. I then went to troubleshoot Windows Update and got this error message (see image). I just ran sfc /scannow with no issues. Is this a real problem? If so, what should I do? Thanks in advance

Hi there. I'm having an issue with windows 10 (surprise surprise). My corded mouse, backup bluetooth mouse, and trackpad all won't scroll in the windows 10 settings app. It legit drove me crazy because I was trying to change a setting and the online guide was showing this button at the bottom of the page and for me it wasn't there until I used the scroll bar on the right hand side. Anyway, I've searched google quickly and found no fixes that work. I tried to change the 'scroll inactive windows' setting and this won't work either, when on or off. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks, Mr Intermediate.

I recently updated windows (normal update, nothing like going from windows 7 to 10 or anything) and something happened and the screen went black after booting up a few times, and then it booted in bios and doesn't recognize the boot drive. It didn't loose power or anything while updating. I've updated the bios, looked at all sorts of tutorials and manuals. All the settings I've tried changing don't amount to any progress. I'm hoping it's just a bios setting and nothing serious like the drive failed or the motherboard got messed up. I'll probably take it into a PC repair shop and have them run their diagnostics if I still can't get it to boot by the end of today. The notebook is an Asus UX360U

Windows prompted for an update before restarting, I approved and at about 25% pc restarted into auto repair screen Now no matter what I do it keeps booting into auto repair Startup repair fails Safe mode resets back to auto repair screen I don't have a restoration point If I click on System Image Recovery it let's me browse for an installation media there I can see that all the drive letters are different somehow Also in the command prompt it starts as X:\windows\system32> instead of C:\ X:\ is the boot drive for some reason but it's a 500MB empty partition In C:\ I have a windows.old folder which wasn't there before

So after a recent windows update my one server is once again acting funny and I neeed to fix it. I run blue iris and some boinc stuff on it, everything was working fine until the windows update and now after a few hours everything gets laggy and then either blue iris crashes or the whole pc does. When it's running normal blue iris uses like 3gb of ram, when everything gets glicy and slow it drops to a few hundred megs. Any idea whare I can start to troubleshoot it? I could reinstall but that's a pain
