After the recent Windows 11 update, I got a BSOD and my Legion 5 15ach6h stopped posting. To troubleshoot I tried: Battery disconnect and power drain Removing SSDs Tried disconnecting the CMOS battery (Destroyed the connector. :'() Removing RAMs (One of them turned out to be faulty) I am not quite sure but I think you can replace the CMOS connector. But is the SO-DIMM slot on my laptop fixable? Here's the screenshot of my update history,

Hey everyone, For the past year at least I have been unable to download the windows security update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.395.806.0). It's starting to cause various problems on my PC because It's getting so out of date so I finally gave up and came here. (I believe It's what preventing me from turning on core isolation for example) The advice I've seen on the MS forums is to either download a newer version of .net framework or a .net framework troubleshooter, but both of these downloads get "blocked by my organization" even though I'm not part of one and no matter if I use chrome or edge. (I get this same message trying to download other things as well.) I'm really at my wits end here and any help would be appreciated (Windows 11 btw)

Just updated my Windows 10 laptop a few days ago and noticed it has started booting up to the log in screen instead of the usual welcome screen where you click or press enter before the log in screen shows. I didn't configure it to go straight to the log in screen. Did Microsoft made it official to go straight to the log in screen after booting up?

A few weeks ago I launched Witcher 3 and noticed that the game was really laggy, constant FPS drops. I restarted the game, and on the 2nd try the entire PC just went dark and rebooted... Event viewer told me the graphics card/driver crashed. Before it put me at the login screen, it shortly mentioned something about updates. So before troubleshooting the GPU I checked Windows Update and saw an update for "Steelseries - Aps". I installed it and rebooted, and then it got stuck for over an hour on "Working on updates, do not turn your PC off" with no progress bar. I got back in and checked event viewer which was just spammed with "DCOM got error "1115" attempting to start the service UsoSvc with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server" throughout the "update" and then an error about Windows Module Installer force quitting. I've tried googling this but I haven't got any luck figuring out what causes it. And after this I've been unable to install any updates other than Defender definitions... They all get stuck on downloading at 4%, next reboot they're at 0% installed, then next boot they're "installed" and this cycle repeats with every restart. And in-between every single reboot it gets stuck at the updates screen for 60-70 minutes, but shutting down works fine? I've tried: Running sfc /scannow which found corruptions at first but now nothing. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth just goes blank without a progress bar, but checking the cbs.log it seems to be running? Either way it's stuck blinking in the cmd and stops with some of these errors: Sometimes the progress gets further, but it always just stops like this. Seems to be the same when I try to download a new update. Running the WU troubleshooter, it just keeps saying there's a pending restart when there's not. And after clearing the WU download folder it just gets just stuck after telling me that now. Booted into safe mode with networking, and their DISM and the Windows Update troubleshooter finally seem to work, but I have no internet because the network card driver is disabled? I've tried running these commands from the Microsoft documentation(not the ones below that though), and it seemed to reset WU, but they still just get stuck doing nothing with further errors The only things that come to mind is to run DISM offline, but documentation for that is very scarce. And I don't know if running the Windows 11 upgrade tool will work either since WU is so broken... I'm really at a loss here. It's a completely fresh Windows 11 install that I've only used for 3 weeks and apart from the aforementioned I don't know what to do apart from re-installing completely, which I'd really like to avoid since I just finished setting everything up. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

Hi there, My PC auto applied a windows 11 update today, after which my PC performance slowed to a crawl. Task manager showed my boot SSD (Crucial P5 1tb) at a constant 100% utilization. I decided to reboot and see if this was just a glitch. Now my bios doesn't even recognize the drive in the slot on the motherboard. Tried swapping to a different SSD in the same slot, which the bios then detected. However, trying the Crucial P5 in the slot again still shows nothing. Do you think the Crucial P5 is bricked? System details: Motherboard: ASRock H510M-ITX/ac SSD: Crucial P5 1TB 3D NAND NVMe - CT1000P5SSD8

Hi y'all I know you can stop Windows Update from updating drivers through Group Policy, works best I think, but there are other ways also. But is there a way to stop Windows Update from updating the GPU drivers? So all other drivers are okay, just not and never the GPU drivers. I'm using Windows 11 Pro Thanks in advance

Hello, I have Windows 10 64-bit with current update. I have noticed that some system settings that I have modified and some changes that I have done to Windows registry return to their original state after Windows updates. It gets tedious to apply changes that have been done previously after Windows updates. Is there some kind of script that could automate or ease this task?

Hello - I have been putting together my previous built parts for my mother to play VR with - they are a 4930k and an (almost new, was refurbished) RX580. We tested them last night in VR - they worked great, pretty much 120fps (at 120hz) all the time, crystal clear visuals. Today I took apart that test bench and put them into a new case with a new cooler - while setting it back up, windows forced an update. Hooray. SteamVR, in its behind the scenes performance ranking, is deciding and forcing that SteamVR should target 58% of the native res of the headset - what? It looks awful, the frames are awful, and I cant seem to fix it! This was not the case last night, and temps are still perfectly fine! The best I've gotten it to target today is like 74% resolution with some fiddling. The headset is an Quest 2, the Windows 11 build is a fresh NTLite custom build preset someone put together with some of the junk taken out (before the update I suppose, not sure how much was put back), and the Windows 11 also had the TPM-2.0 req taken out by rufus. I've tried updating drivers, I've tried SteamVR beta, and a bunch of other stuff and I'm not sure what else to do - the only other VR capable GPU i have on hand is in my rig, and I aint taking it out. I've tried the Quest 2 with AirLink and with USB - nada. We tried AirLink only last night, and it worked beautifully. I've used these parts for VR on Win 10 over a year ago, and they worked fine then too. Maybe next step is to go back to Win10? Or reset it with a new NTLite Win11 and turn off auto update? I am not sure. I cant afford to currently and mom does not want to put any more money into this computer - I wanted to get a card from amazon and see if it fixes the problem, but shes not into that. BTW the case is a Corsair 4000D Airflow, nice case, and the cooler is a black noctua U9S in case you were curious. U9S works alright, not the best for this toasty chip but temps are alright. Thanks! EDIT - yes i've tried forcing high % resolution, its still grainy and awful. Bitrate doesnt appear to be the issue, its SteamVR

I just upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 by enabling tpm 2.0 in my msi bios. system reset and installed windows 11 no issues. Then I decided to install updates...after downloading and restarting my pc it entered a seemingly endless restart loop. After about 30 mins I did a force shutdown and when I powered it back on it doesn't even show my bios. It is just a black screen. I tried force shutting down 3 times after and each time its a black screen. I've unplugged my monitor and plugged it back in and removed all my usb devices but nothing has helped. It was working just fine....what can I do? Specs: ryzen 5 5600x 240 gb ssd (windows) 1tb ssd 1tb hdd 16gb ram msi tomahawk b550 gtx 1060

Hello guys, I just got a sh PC and I wanted to reinstall windows on it. I did the setup without having internet connection and when it was done all seemed fine but 2 minutes after I connected the ethernet cable, my monitor went black displaying dp not responding. When I try to restart I can see the logo of the motherboard but after the windows logo that has that loading circle, it goes back to black. (When I got the PC it already had Windows on it and it was working fine) My system has: Asrock b450m pro4-f Ryzen 5 2600 Zotac GTX 1070 1x8gb Corsair DDR4 and 1x8gb Kingmax DDR4 500gb Kingston M.2 SSD Seasonic GM 500 +80 gold Asus VA24D monitor I have connected a hdmi cable to my TV so I can try to update the drivers but the problem is still there. If I try to use a hdmi cable with my monitor it doesn't work (I did change the settings from dp to hdmi) Besides this, I have also tried unplugging the monitor and pc and waiting some minutes before plugging them back but with no results.

I've tried a number of things: Checked if the charger is good, Tried different outlets, Held the power button for 15s (only the white LED blinks once), Held the power button, unplugged the charger, and released the button trick, Unplugging the internal battery and just attempt to turn it on using the power brick (no signs of life, no fan, nothing). The only indication I get from the laptop is the white LED blinks after holding the power button for 10s. That's it. No fans, no display, nothing. This is a Razer Blade 15 (2018) advanced (GTX 1070 model). This is the guide I followed in attempts to turn it on: Razer Blade does not have power, won't boot up or turn on. Any and all help will be appreciated a lot! I have the tools to open it up and inspect as well if I can get guidance on what and where I should look at.

Hello. I have Windows 10 64-bit version 21H1. While processing cumulative update it requires restart. Why does it require restart while it is still busy with update? It was at 74% before showing download error. Right now I still see Windows Modules Installer Worker background process working sporadically. It was before as well when cumulative update was processing. Service Host Windows Update, MoUSO Core Worker, Runtime Broker processes also work in the background sometimes. In previous Windows editions updates used to be applied before system would require to restart computer. Why Windows 10 requires a restart while there are still updates processing?

I built a pc roughly a month ago with a 5900x and a 6600 XT (plan is to upgrade gpu shortly; I know it's unbalanced). I got everything set up nicely with no issues and it worked great until a few days later when I booted my pc to find that AMD Adrenalin wasn't working because apparently Windows had overwritten my up to date drivers with old ones that completely broke Adrenalin. I redownloaded the drivers only to have them disappear again a week later (Windows Update was "helping" me out by regularly messing up my drivers). At this point I disabled automatic driver updates (is there a better way to deal with this?). Fast forward about three weeks and I was updating iCUE to a new version. Halfway through the install, my PC completely froze up. I powercycled, and when my pc booted back up it had display drivers from mid-2021. Apparently iCUE also broke my display drivers. I redownloaded Adrenalin/my drivers from the AMD website, gnashing my teeth because it was late and I wanted to sleep, then left the pc overnight once things were settled and I'd done my restart/checked that Adrenalin was working again. The next day my drivers were inexplicably reverted again and this time I had no idea why, so I literally just went into the previous day's driver download folder and clicked the executable to have it install again. After that install things have been working fine since, but it's only been a few days and I'm just waiting to sit down at my computer some random day and have to once again reinstall Adrenalin, which is the worst part of all of this--if your drivers get rolled back, Adrenalin just nopes out and makes you go to AMD.com to get the correct drivers and reinstall the entire program. Have any other AMD users dealt with this issue? Is there a way to make AMD drivers more stable and/or allow automatic driver updates while keeping current AMD drivers from being overwritten by old ones and/or be able to actually open Adrenalin to update your drivers and/or stop having to tear your hair out over something that ought to just work properly?

windows 10 64 Microsoft store wont open/load
microsoft more like poopie posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Trying to use microsoft store and get raw image codec but when I open the microsoft store app it just does the loading circle thing forever as far as im concerned. Going on the browser microsoft store, when i click download it just redirects to the app which once again wont load. I tried all solutions listed in here to no avail https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/microsoft-store-wont-open/ac3e7d57-e5b4-49f9-8a78-f5be9621797f My windows OS Build seems to be like 0.030 ish behind my friends pc and when i go to check for updates it says one of the update services is not running properly and to troubleshoot windows updates which I did. It says no problem was detected. Tried restarting to be clear. Any insight? System specs: windows 10 64bit ryzen 5 2600x corsair rgb 16gb ram cx650m psu (corsair) lian li case (forgot the name) corsair water cooler h100x prime x370 pro mobo 6 fans running fine (2 of which on the radiator for the h100x) (and yes i know its probably overkill i just like it)- 3 replies

I have a Nitro 5, I7-11800H, it came with Win11 (21H2). Everything was working fine until 2 days ago update KB5010795 (OS Build 22000.438) Out-of-band came out, when the system was rebooting it was not as quick as before, I figure it’s an new update maybe it still being installed, when it finally opened I realized my second drive (D:) is running at 100%, when is not running at 100% it’s not there at all. Any insight on how to take care of this? I tried to restore the system but it was unsuccessful, my second drive is still not showing. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I wanted to update to Windows 11, but before ask if I have to pay attention to something (except the system receiverment)? For example, reinstall drivers or other software (like Ryzen Master, Radeon Software, etc.) or whether everything fits. Patrick
