Hello! I have never posted anything unto this forum before, so please do excuse me if I marked or made a new topic incorrectly, however, I would appreciate some help. Something happened that has left me, and all of my tech friends, dumbfounded. After cleaning out my Windforce RTX2060S (this specific one for those interested: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N206SWF2-8GD-rev-10#kf ) my temps in games are generally higher. This isn't the first time I've cleaned up my pc, neither the first time I cleaned this GPU out (had it since last year November), and my temps always dropped after cleaning it out from dust. This time, though, my GPU is running hotter, and the temps are fluctuating way too much. Before the cleanup, in Overwatch with my settings my temp capped out at 50°C, now after a full cleanup it's averaging 56°C, and even peaking at 65°C momentarily. I am aware that these temps aren't high and are fine for this GPU, however I am dumbfounded as to why it's suddenly running hotter after the cleanup. The shroud and fans haven't been taken off, both of the GPU fans are working correctly, and every system fan is running at normal speeds. I tried running my GPU fans at 100% for a short while, but after setting the speed back to auto, the temps returned to the higher than usual average. The GPU has always been handled with care, nothing has been knocked off, or anything of the sort. What has changed?

I'm getting a 1060 soon, but I can't choose between the Windforce GTX 1060 or the slightly better 'gaming edition'. Regular Version Gaming Version Is the extra power worth $20 and $5 shipping?

My Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce arrived yesterday (finally) and I ran into some problems. First the specs, this is my casual gaming 1080p@60FPS secondary PC in my living room. Mainboard: Gigabyte Z97P-D3 CPU: Intel I5 4690K @ 4,8Ghz; 1,35V; (bequiet Shadow Rock 2) RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares DDR3 @1600Mhz CL10 Storage: 1TB HDD + 128 GB SSD GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce [Factory Overlocked 1582Mhz Core/1797 Boost/2000Mhz (8000Mhz GDDR5) Memory] Monitor: LG somethingsomething 1080p/60hz IPS monitor - Displayport 1.2 PSU: Seasonic X series 1050W 80+Gold (this is from my main PC only used here for testing) Windows 10 Home Nvidia drivers 372,54 Now to the problem: This is my first Gigabyte GPU so I downloaded their own OC software (XTREME GAMING ENGINE) which for some reason would not regocnize the GPU at first and when I fixed that it wouldn't get into OC mode. So I went back to Afterburner and did some mild OC +100Mhz on core and +300Mhz on memory + custom fancourse ofc. 1 hour MSI Kombustor = no problems temps 67°C max. Upped OC +200Mhz on core +500Mhz memory again 1 hour Kombustor no problems temps reaching 72°C max. I was happy with that for now and ran GTA V, about 15 minutes driving around aimlessly I got a message "nvidia driver has stopped responding and has recovered". Never mind I ran Witcher 3 about 5 minutes into the game same error message. Dialed OC to +160Mhz/+480Mhz and ran Intel Stress test 1 hour, again no problem Back to GTA V after 10-15 minutes again same error message, same with Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor or Crysis 3. Reverted back to factory clocks and the error message still persists when gaming. Now I ran Aida64 for 2 hours and no such problem. What should I do? Anybody experience anything of the sort with other GTX 10 series cards? Should I RMA the card or is this just a driver issue?

My brother has a dead Gigabyte Windforce R9 270 that he got from his friend, and I have an XFX RX 480 8GB Reference card that I traded my XFX R9 390 Dual Fan with the same person who gave him the 270. Would it be possible to put the Windforce cooler from the 270 onto the RX 480, and if so, would the backplate still be able to be used and would I need anything in addition to some thermal adhesive for the RAM chips? I've attached pictures of the R9 270 with the screw points circled in MS Paint, and a VideoCardz stock image of a reference RX 480 with the screw holes circled in Paint as well. I'm also going to be posting this question on r/AMD to see what feedback I get there as well.

Hi all! I have a Gigabyte Windforce 2x R9 380 and I was wondering if it was possible to turn off the LEDs (the ones that show the WINDFORCE logo in blue) through software. I know it is possible to remove the power connector or do something similar but I just want to be able to turn it off for when I go to bed, but leave my PC on. Any response is welcome.

Hey Guys! So right now I'm considering the gigabyte edition of 1070, but it seems like they just released the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 windforce OC, which is 50 bucks cheaper, but comes with 1 less fan and a core clock at 40 MHz slower, I just want to know if its worth the 50 bucks to get the G1 Gaming edition? or would the OC edition be more worth the money? And how much of a difference does 40 MHz do, and 1 less fan?

So, for my birthday this year, my boyfriend bought me a newer gpu, the same one he runs in sli, the Gigabyte Windforce GTX 750 ti 2XOC. I am somewhat familiar with MSI Afterburner but my last card, GT730 had locked voltage so I could get very far. I've tried to do everything I can(within reason) to make my pc durable for experimental overclocking. I choose the 750 ti because it was cheap, so if something happens im out $60 than that $140-$200 if I used the 900 series, and I was able to get the best possible version of that card with the radiator, all tantulum capacitors, and big dual fans. To power this card, I went with the Thermal Take Smart 650watt Bronze since it will be most efficient at the 50% mark around were my system sits. The final factor I guess is air flow which I'm a little less prepared for, I'm still in the free stock case I built my pc in and it has two rear mounted blowing fans. So, is there anything else I'm missing in this calculation to help ensure my pc is safe while ocing? Please let me know down in the comment section, Thanks!

Hi I have a Gigabyte Windforce 3x r9 280x rev 2. I was thinking of maybe doing a custom water cooling loop. I know that non reference cards are made with a specific cooler and a different pcb layout, but I was wondering if there is any water block out there that works with it? I was looking into the EK Thermosphere, would this be a viable option, along with some heat spreaders for the vram?

Good evening, I need some help with doing some light or higher OC on my Gigabyte GTX 960 Windforce OC 4GB. What dials or sliders do I have to adjust? Even though there's a factory OC already in place, I want to bump the performance a lil bit more at least. Thanks This card: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b3422/gigabyte-gtx-960-oc-4-gb

Basically I've been on the fence about an R9 380 or a GTX 960 for ages. Both I'm looking at 4GB models. I've found an R9 380 4GB windforce 2x for £170 and a G1 Gaming 960 for the same price. Anyone know which will perform better once overclocked. Purely a gaming build with an i3-4170 and 8GB of RAM.

In summer I build my first PC( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/m7t4zy%C2'> and just started to play GTA 5. I can play this game at pretty high settings but even without any overclock applied to the CPU or the GPU it is crashing all the time after about one houre. It is driving me crazy!! I hope you have any suggestions why this is happening all the time. Thank you!!

Hello, i think i'm having some issues with my Gigabyte R9 290 3x windforce. When i play the game Rust on the lowest settings possible, with no post processing or anything on i get a maximum of 40-50 fps. Though, my friend who has a GTX 660( i think ) gets 60+ even when on medium-high graphics, from what i've read and understood on many places this is only a problem with the R9 290 and Rust( correct me if i'm wrong ). I've reinstalled drivers, checked bios, checked memory, installed game on my ssd, checked temps on cpu, mobo and ofcourse the gpu. I still can't figure out what the problem is, if it's the game that is poorly optimized for amd cards or if there's something wrong with my 290. I would appreciate any help as i get a fairly bad fps in any game i play. I bought the card for 3990 SEK which is about 646 CAD, and it should really not run all games as bad as my old HD 6870 1GB. Please help :C Here are my full specs: CPU: FX 8370E @ 4.0 ghz Stable & tested GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 Windforce 3X OC HDMI DP 2xDVI 4GB at 1040 mhz core and 1250 mhz memory. RAM: 8GB Corsair 1600mhz, long time since i bought it, but still works and shouldn't be the problem. MOBO: Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 PSU: Corsair GS600 W SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB HDD: Samsung HD103SJ 1TB( not currently used for any games, only downloads etc )

Hi guys, so i am going to purchase a 980ti within 2 weeks at most, The one i am currently interested in due to specs and noise is the waterforce by Gigabyte. I have never used an AIO before only air, i am currently using a 460v2 which i got shortly after its release, its still going strong on air and just now i am starting to hearing coil wine when i game, I am worried that if i go with the waterforce that while temps and the noise will be exactly what i want along with performance, the fear of a part failure or leak is worrisome and since i am the type of person that runs his Pc 24/7 durability matters alot, I want to jump on the W/C scene with my gpu first and later my cpu, but its this worry that gets me. ps. (I will ultimately have a skylake machine within 2 or 3 months max and will add the psu, 212, & 980ti to that new build) 1. How long are these AIO rated to last? I have stuck with air for this reason but if the change is safe and i can get say 4+ years with the card i would be happy with the AIO. 2. If i have a failure a year after use will they warranty it? (assuming no fault on my side obviously.) 3. Is this card supported by any aftermarket vendors for a custom loop? Thanks in advance for all your assistance, LTT longevity My system CPU: Intel 2500k Ram: 8gb Patriot sector 5 Mobo: Asus P8P67 Le rev 3 GPU: 460v2 Nvidia Cooler: 212 hyper evo SSD: 250gb Os loaded Samsung 850 PSU: 500w antec >>>>>>>>OTW from newegg 1000w corsair hxi HDD: 6 tb of drives

Hi there, im just asking myself it there is ANY way to light up the Windforce Logo on the 960. (like at some 970/980) My whole Setup is white with blue lighting, so it would be great if there would be a way how to get some light into that also. Thats the card:

I'm in the GPU thread. Other people have asked the same type of question I'm about to ask. Here goes nothing. I'm building a bidget PC. My dad generously offered that he'll pay for the parts, only if all of them add up to a $1000 or less. I got a liist of parts that I want for the system build, pretty decent parts actually. Compatibility checks out through all the components. Now I have around $300 to spend on a graphics card. Windforce GTX 960 vs. MSI R9 380. These are options that I have. I've made my research on the price of each GPU and it fits perfectly into the budget. But me being a mediocre computer geek, I don't know much about GPUs, even though I know plenty about other PC parts. I don't have an nvidia sheild so neither card weighs on any side at the moment. So if anyone would be kind enough to tell me with what I should go with, that'd be great. A definite answer and then a breakdown on why that particular card. Thanks.

Hey guys, i was wondering if there's any difference in performance in these GPU's. I found these in 2 difference local shops at difference prices. 136€ Gigabyte GeForce GTX750 TI OC WINDFORCE 2GB GDDR5: > Image here < 132€Gigabyte GeForce GTX750 Ti OC Edition: > Image here < I am very confused right now. The OC edition doesn't have the windforce logo on the gpu but has one on the box. The other vice-versa. I am going to do some mild OC so which one is the best for me?

Hey everyone, this might be a silly question, but seeing as I plan on getting the GTX 980Ti from Gigabyte, and am getting the XTREME version (I love the Angel Eyes), Would there be a way to have a custom LED or Indicator on the top of the case (Such as a custom made Fan Stop Indicator, like on the card) and redirect the signal from the back of the card to the custom indicator? It seems like Fan Stop would be easier to see if it was on top of the case, not on the back. Theorize away, I'd love to see what you guys can come up with (and if it's possible I may attempt it -Basically reroute the Fan Stop Indicator from the back of the card to an indicator on top of the case chassis, any solutions/suggestions?

GTX 980Ti eXtreme from Gigabyte has two types of GPUs with very small difference in price windforce which is running with three fans waterforce which is running with a watercooler i've watched videos about the waterforce and people are saying that it's the best 980Ti when comes to performance (is it true?) also they say that it looks horribly ugly that they wouldn't even come close to it... what do you think about them, and do you think the waterforce is better than the windforce and what do you think is the top 5 980Ti graphics cards out there?

I recently purchased a GV-N980WF3OC-4GD (The 980 from Gigabyte with 3 fans) from Amazon, and within 3 days of purchasing both DVI ports stopped working. At one point the night before I heard the disconnect sound and my screen flashed and I assumed it was a driver crash for whatever reason, however it recovered. The next day when I booted up my PC I got no video output on either DVI ports, but the HDMI was working (I assume the DP were, but I don't have anything DP compatible so can't try them). I returned the card and asked for a replacement, which I got today, and the same thing has happened to this one except within about 30 minutes of me fitting it. One DVI didn't work at all, then the other flashed and changed resolution and then soon stopped altogether, then the other one worked and now neither are working. Interestingly on both occasions and empty button on the toolbar between the notifications and clock has appeared, which does nothing when you click it. I don't think it's a power issue, because although my PSU is below the minimum (according to some sites but not others) at 550W, it happened when idling on my desktop before I'd even got the chance to open anything; the card would have been at 1 or 2% utilisation and was running at 25 degrees C. I don't think it's a driver issue - I'm running the latest drivers, so other people would surely be reporting the problem everywhere. Also the DVIs do not work using the default Windows drivers (although do they even support multiple monitors). I know the cable and everything else is fine too, because I've been using my old 270x with the same setup without a problem (The 270x also supposedly has the same/slightly higher TDP as the 980). As far as I can see, the problem is most likely one of four things: 1) I've been really unlucky and got a faulty card twice in a row 2) Amazon are sneaky liars. They were out of stock when I wanted my replacement, so I had to wait. They then had 1 in stock, and are out of stock again, so I could possibly just have the same one back (seems unfortunately too plausible). 3) It's a compatibility issue with Win10 4) It's a compatibility issue with one of the things I've already ruled out and I'm wrong. Anybody got any ideas or had a similar experience? This is extremely annoying as I rely on having more than one monitor for a lot of things. Here's my system specs in case they come in handy: OS: Windows 10 Home CPU: AMD FX 8370 GPU: Gigabyte G1 980 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 PSU: Cooler Master 550 Storage: Samsung 840 Evo (128GB), Samsung 850 Evo (256GB), WD pretty standard HDD (1TB) RAM: 16GB DDR3

The time has come around build a new PC for my sister and as her processor (i7-2600 @3.4Ghz) is still quite good and the RAM (12GB) is plenty the GPU is worth an upgrade. Now the GTX550ti is getting pretty toasty and I decided to go with a GTX970! As it is supposed to be quite quiet I don't think a Blower Style Cooler would be appropiate. So with which Vendor to go? Here are the options in my country with current pricing: (Read here) (I know its german but I think you should be able to identify them!) The price shouldn't overgo the 350€ mark! Idc about the length as long as it is not more than 300mm So with which model to go? Please tell me your suggestions!
