Hey all, so I just wanted to ask a quick question about peripheral power on startup. Usually when the Windows login page loads, my peripherals immediately power on and are ready to go. Now, it takes something like 20-30 seconds for them to power on at that point. Could this be an issue with the PSU being insufficient or aging? A BIOS setting? I recently upgraded my cpu and changed some settings, but this issue didn't start until recently and that was over a month ago. I couldn't find any other posts about something this specific, so hopefully someone has some wisdom to share here. Thank you. Specs: OS: Windows 10 Pro v.22H2 build 19045.2728 PSU: Aresgame AGV650 650W 80+ Bronze (installed Oct. 2021) CPU: i7 11700k w/ 92mm air cooler GPU: Zotac OC 3060 12gb (Afterburner & ReBAR on) Mobo: Asus Prime Z590M-PLUS bios v. 0820 x64 RAM: 8x2GB TeamGroup T-Force Dark Z 3600MHz (4000 MHz oc) One SATA ssd, two NVMe drives 6 case fans Let me know if you need more information

So after digging deep and finding one of my prehistoric Acer laptops, I ripped it apart and got the hard drive out successfully. I tried reconnecting it to my rig. With it connected, I can't boot because of a "suspected hard drive failure". With the hard drive connected it also wont let me boot from my Win11 SSD, it only wants to boot from that Windows XP hard drive. And connecting it with Win11 already loaded the system immediately does a force shutdown. What I basically have is death in an aluminium box. How the hell do I access the data that's on the WinXP HDD, without damaging my system in the process? Would disconnecting all my drives and only leaving the WinXP one work? And would they work after disconnecting the WinXP HDD?

I started voting in the Intel Rig Challenge on Twitter, and since LinusTechTips is one of the influencers chosen to be a host/judge, I hope this is the right place for this. It didn't seem very clear to me how you're supposed to find out whether you win, and I had the impression you had to be at PAX to claim your prize. So I skimmed through the rules and found out. But just in case anyone else is curious but doesn't want to look through it, here's what I found. If someone wins either an Intel Rig or an Oculus Rift, how do they find out they are a winner? You don't have to be at PAX. Keep an eye on your Twitter on the draw dates and shortly thereafter. Intel will inform you that you have won with a tweet, but you might receive that tweet from @quangoinc. I reasonably suspect they'll send out the tweet upon confirmation of the draw, but this seems to be at their discretion as it is not mentioned in the terms. After the tweet you will have two days to follow them, if you haven't already, so they can send you a direct message. Then you'll have another two days to give them your first & last names, full mailing address, eMail address, and date of birth. If you win the Grand Prize, you'll be expected to fill out a tax form for the IRS, even if you're a resident of Canada. Canadians also have to answer a "mathematical skill-testing question". Be aware that the IRS form will ask for your SSN (US) or SIN (Canada). You will also have to sign some kind of form saying you are eligible to receive the prize, and probably give them permission to announce you as a winner. You will have 7 days to complete this part of the process. The language in the terms implies this can all be done electronically. The terms point out that you are only a "potential winner" until proven eligible. A note on Taxes Clarification for the following portion would be strongly appreciated. It should be noted that if the value of your prize is being reported to the IRS for Intel's taxes it may be considered as some form of income on your annual taxes, or you may have to pay tax upon delivery, as the terms specify that "all applicable taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner". For example, if I won the Grand Prize, I might be stuck paying $619.20 for the computer and have to report $5160 as income on my annual income tax. This might push me into another tax bracket, and cause me to pay a lot more taxes for the whole year. With that in mind I really hope to win an Oculus Rift, but I might not be able to afford "winning" a PC. Dates related to the challenge Oculus Rift drawing dates take place 5 days after the entry period ends. Two winners will be selected each and two draw dates remain (4 Rifts still available to be won as of this posting). These dates are May 14th, and May 28th. Voting ends June 8th, and on June 11th Five Grand Prize Winners will be selected.

Hey all. Is it possible to upgrade the GPD Win 2 's Ram, Graphics cards, hdd etc? My old MSI GE60 2PC Apche died recently and I'd like to use the ram (16gb) and the Intel I7 processor and Nvidia 850m Graphics card in the GDP win. I know this is unlikely, but is there anyway way any of these hardware components could be used? Thanks.

Hello there, I hope you had/have a nice day. So I'm having quite a few issues which I belive have a connection. 1) My VPN doesnt work, with one exeption: It does on startup, but after I switch it off it doesnt anymore. Btw I tried using the browser extension for my VPN which seemes to work 2) I sometimes play around with bruteforcing where I, of course, need proxies. My bruteforce engine always tells me "Error 420 header empty" so basically, none of my proxies worked. I also tried some HQ/Private proxies which didnt work either. So the thing is, I have a time cap on wifi usage per day so I change my MAC adress about twice per day (Because of the whitelist). Does this have any effect? If that helps: Im on WIn10 64Bit and ethernet cable. Also excuse typos since I got a new keyboard and english isnt my native. Thanks, Zyl

I'm building a Windows XP gaming rig to run a few older games that don't want to run on Windows 10. I have an old HD 4350 that I keep around for diagnostic purposes and when I install it in this computer everything seems to work fine. But of course I would much rather use my old GTX 480 in this build. It displays the BIOS and the Windows load screen but as soon as windows boots I get black. This wasn't the case the first few times I booted the computer while I was diagnosing other issues. It only started after maybe the third boot. I haven't even had the chance to install the driver to see if that would fix it. I tried installing the 480 driver with the HD4350 installed but it wouldn't let me and I tried installing the 480 in a different slot but the board wants it in the top slot for solo cards before it will boot. Edit: I've also tried booting with just one RAM stick installed. No change. I see the Windows loading screen and then it goes black. Specs: CPU: Intel q6700 MoBo: XFX nForce 780i RAM: 4GB (Though it only shows 2.75GB for some reason) PSU: Antec VP550F (550 Watt)

Heyho to the Ltt community So i installed a programm that apperantly decided it wants to sit on its own drive so it somehow created a new drive https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33306907/1.png.html as seen here it shows the same usage but is actually completely empty when you go inside https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33306909/2.png.html well it was inside where the files from the programm that i had installed funnyly enough when i tried to uninstall the programm it said that the path was invalid and that it cant find the files so i had to move them over to the Games D: drive which is the actual one to be able to uninstall it. Now the iffy thing is that i cant seem to get rid of that "drive" (it is also not shown as a partition in the partition manager https://www.pic-upload.de/view-33306916/3.png.html) No the question is that how do i get rid of this drive thingy in my explorer its super annoying. Thank you very much in advance Chris

Hello everyone, I'm having an anoying problem with my laptop. It is a Packard Bell PEW96 but it doesn't matter, the problem is with the windows. It had an update yesterday and when I got home I used my PC and just left the laptop in it's case for tomorrow, because I need it for school. After I land on the Log in screen I see a blue screen with the time and the date and ect. but soon after it goes black and blue with the date and ect again and it does this again and again untill I turn off the machine. I've tried to boot up in safe mode but when I get the login screen it does nothing. Everything is black and only my cursor is visible on the screen and it shows the loading circle. An other thing I noticed is that I'm using a Steelseries mouse (Rival 100 to be clear) and it doesn't light up but the mouse is working fine. Before this when the log in screen showed up it lighted up imediatly with my custom color. I've saw posts and videos about virus attacks and it always mentioned someind of payload date, so I changed the date in the bios but it did not help. After 2 hours of google I was not able to find an answer for this problem (even here on LTT forum!) so every help is usefull! Thanks for the help, I'm working on it even if no answer comes (so I can share how to fix it or something)

So. The newest "big" update that took 3 hours for me to update has ruined my experience with games, and here's why, Games that ran semi-decently are now horse dung, Xbox 360 controller inputs feel more delayed, I'm running not the best rig in the world (GT610, i3-3420, 4gb ram), but NFS UG2 (that is a 12 y/o game) is running at 20-25 fps, when earlier it ran at a stable 60. Other games are even worse, Vanilla minecraft (yes minecraft) for my sister ran at 59 fps stable, now it goes from 20-25 to 10-15 in more intense areas. Has anyone had this problem too? Do you know a possible fix?
