____________ My good monitor is in RMA right now so I dug out my old ACER X223W 1650x1050 16:10 and trying to get the drivers to install but theres only 32bit vista drivers. Is there any possable way to tweak it to install as 64bit. And I'v tryed windows update and nothing comes up. Operating System: Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 1803 / 17134.48 Monitor Acer X223W DVI-D 59/60Hz Because if I can install the drivers I can enable 75 Hz on my monitor. If I can not install them can anyone link me to a monitor overclocking guide so I can overclock to (75 Hz) because I'v seen on some websites it says 76 Hz ?? so it may be able to overclock the monitor. ____________ The Website With Drivers https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/834?b=1 ____________

I looked this up before and tried a few things listed but have no been able to get anything to work with the Ai suite installer. I can install individual things that are usually part of this like Ramcache or Ramdisk for example but otherwise I can click the installer as many times as I want in any many compatability modes or run as Admin and it just sits there....not even appearing in task manager and does nothing. Anyone else getting this issue?

Hey there, I've been trying to protect my xps 15 9550 running Windows 10 from the recent Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities using this guide from how to geek: I've ran the powershell script, but even though I installed the latest BIOS update from Dell that claims to have resolved the issue (v1.6.1) and Windows says I have installed the latest updates (btw, I have seen the thing about antivirus software screwing with the updates, I have uninstalled them and even checked that the registry key was set correctly, and it was) it still says I'm vulnerable... Do you guys know what I am/could be doing wrong? Thanks!

Hello, so I've been trying to figure out why my control panel has been crashing for the past few weeks. I've looked under every little forum post and informational article with only a few solutions that don't work for me. I can open the Control panel to apps and features, and click home, but as soon as I click another category, it freezes, crashes, and restarts windows explorer process. Now from what I've read, everyone has been saying to uninstall IDT Audio Panel, however, I don't have IDT Audio Panel. I've also tried running the following commands in Admin Command Prompt: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth sfc /verifyonly Neither of which has done any good. Thank you for your replies,

I am looking for a Windows 10 tablet that has at least 4GB of RAM and has decent camera that I can use for video of up to 1080p. Not looking for awesome video quality but would like something that I can post to the net. Any suggestions would be nice. I am on prime so the ability to buy on there would be nice. I would suggest that at minimal would have to be 8" in size and having a USB port that can be used for a flash drive while it is charging would be nice.

Hello! I have a DVD drive that I want to use with my PC with Windows 10 (with newest version installed). I have connected the DVD drive to my PC with a USB - SATA adapter (the adapter also has a plug that I have put into a wall socket so the DVD drive should get enough power). I also probably should mention that it isn't a external DVD drive, just a normal drive what you would install to your case. I don't have a drive bay in my case so I'm trying to use the DVD drive this way. I have also tested the DVD drive with a Windows 8.1 laptop and I had the same problem with that too. The drive also shows as sci (uas) in device manager, I don't think that should happen? And also, the DVD drive doesn't show up there, where all my other HDDs, etc are, when I press on "this PC" The DVD drive should work, since I haven't used it at all, and it has just been sitting in another PC case. I'm not 100% sure about the bard of the DVD drive, but I think it's Hitachi or LG. Some of my PC specs if they're needed: CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 Mobo: Aorus AX370 Gaming K7 Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum, and thank you for any help!

I have turned on controlled file access. When a program violates controlled file access, the path to the program is severely truncated in the notification. Does anyone know how to find the full pathname of the program? I looked in the event logs and could not find anything logged. I've had to disable this feature because it is so disruptive. Thanks much.

so i just finished a friends pc installing win 10 as it has less annoying popups and is actually usable when you arent activating it however its only now when i went to get drivers i noticed there are no drivers for the motherboard for windows 10, the drivers only go up to win 8 64 bit. the motherboard is an ECS H61H2-M4. Is it possible that since their basically the same except ones a little less ugly, could i use win 8 drivers?

Can anyone tell me what would happen if (for example) a motherboard dies and you replace it and reinstall windows 10 or your boot drive crashed and you reinstall win 10, will those reinstalled windows 10's see the old raid config (raid 5 with some data on it like family photos)? I have been wondering and would love to know what the answer is. Thanks.

Help! I've just built my first rig. Inside is a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. I put Windows on the EVO, and had some troubles (Only HDD seen, had to plug in SSD again.) but now I can't see the HDD at all within Windows. What should I do?

Hello, I've got a Toshiba satellite L755 that has recently stopped showing the battery level accurately. it says it is 100 percent when I click on it but always claims it is unavailable when I hover over it. the icon is thus always hollow. It is running 64 bit windows 10 installed, not upgraded. HW Monitor shows the number of Milli Watt Hours in the battery, so I know it's not the hardware. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the battery and it's driver, discharging and recharging the battery, and googling how to uninstall and reinstall the battery icon (no relevant results), but it was all fruitless. If anyone has any ideas, please speak up, thanks in advance, -CJB

Hi, My new PC failed to boot after bios update. The total use time may be less than 5 day! After installing Windows 10, I tried to update the BIOS. And then Windows failed to boot. I tried to re-install the OS but it didn't detect the drive. The drive is detected in UEFI, and also Windows 10 shows loading but then failed to boot. Here is the hardware list: Asus Z370 Prime-A M.2 Samsung 960 EVO - 1TB Intel i7-8700K G.Skill Trident RGB - 64GB (16 x 4) Nvidia Quadro P4000 OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit The BIOS update was done natively in the UEFI via internet to version 606 (latest release). After OS failed to boot, my troubleshooting was to get BIOS version 605, then tried 606 again, then original first release 408. All of these was via USB after downloading them from ASUS website. Lastly, I retried version 606 updated via internet. In all of these trials, OS (Windows 10) failed to boot. I tried to physically remove the M.2 and re-installed it again. All with no luck. I appreciate it if anyone can help me to fix this issue. I haven't got that much of things installed on it. If I couldn't solve it, I'll return it to the retailer. Thanks for your help

Yeah, complicated title... Essentially my laptop shipped with windows 8, later updated to 8.1, and then its MoBo died, and it got replaced, and the HDD got formated and the PC came back with windows 8.1. Meanwhile I upgraded it to windows 10, but it just doesn't fit my personal preferences... Is there any way I can downgrade to Windows 7 using my current activation key? pls halp

Heyo, does anyone know how to reduce the space that each system tray icon takes? It's just an aesthetics issue but it's bugging me that these small icons are taking up more space in the screen than i'd want.

Hi, So when trying to update my drivers from 368.x to 372.x, The installation appears to succeed, except for the fact that during the portion where the graphics driver is installing, the screen goes black (expected), and then re-appears, but using what appears to be the basic display adapter (low resolution, and only displays on one of my monitors). My 1060 is picked up in device manager, but when I click on it for more info, windows says that it stopped working (code 43). Help?

Ok, so as it is the 5th of August 2016 (Which is exactly a year since win 10 was launched) there was a promised Windows 10 update on PC and those that haven't upgraded yet cannot upgrade anymore or Microsoft forced them to update by some means unnecessary. Anyway, so it took me absolutely ages to boot into Win 10 this morning and sure, I went with it because there isn't much you can do with these update. So far I have already had to stop three background apps from working because I don't need them and I have noticed that NINE more Gigabyte has been eaten up by this large but fairly minimal looking updates. Sure Microsoft has changed around the security settings, made things feel nicer, look nicer and generally speed things up but to me, everything still looks like it should have been maybe two gigabytes or so, not nine. I was already running out of HDD space and now I am going to have to change my OS to a new HDD soon (possibly an SSD wink, wink, smiley face) because I only have seven gigabytes left on my primary HDD which I previously had sixteen almost seventeen. This is not a rant and by no means do I hate Microsoft for doing this, this is because they have also made my life easier in some respects for example instant access to all my programs as soon as I open my start menu, a quick way to sign your Microsoft account in and out all from the start menu, there are more settings to choose from and play around with and finally, my favourite part is how everything now looks neater. Each Icon looks smart and unique from each other and for me, I always wanted my desktop to be looking clean and neat and tidy. These are all my opinion of course but I just want to find out from others... What is your opinion on the new Win 10 Update? Quick Rant: The new update still has not fixed my issue with only being able to shut down or restart. I Physically have no button still to choose from whether to sleep, hibernate etc. My PC doesn't even sleep when I have left it for a while, it simply stays on all the time. Edit: Just figured out that you need to reset each of your programs that open with what again. I have just had to reset my music to be played with Windows Media player because I just simply hate Groove Music. I also hate the Photos app that obviously lets you open your photos, anyway, I reset that to being Photo Galery instead. There is also now a skype preview which makes having the actual for skype useless since it is now built in...

I have Win 10 Pro x64 Version 1607 (Anniversary) on my computer. I installed a MSI Gaming X GTX 1060 and the computer booted first time, all fine there. Once in windows, no new hardware detect popped up, and when I ran the driver installer from Nvidia (newest version for Win 10x 64 AU), it comes up with a "graphical hardware cannot be detected". Windows has a Basic Display Driver with 4GB of ram as the display driver, however no display driver is listed in device manager. CPU-Z shows that a GTX 1060 is installed, but no info is listed. I've ran DDU, and tired older driver versions, but the error keeps coming up Any ideas?

Hello I'm just asking if anyone of you knows a setting or piece of software that allows you to display the taskbar icons like the clock on all monitors. Since gaming makes the main monitor go fullscreen, I cant look at the clock or other taskbar icons while doing so. Thanks!

Hi, I would like to know how far I can upgrade my pc until Microsoft decline my win10 license. Since we know that product key ain't really around with win10 and its mostly done with system unique ID.. However i don't know where that ID come from.. is it embedded into the mobo? or the CPU? or is it even generated from the whole system config? (highly unlikely imo, but still possible) I'm asking that this morning because i'm planning to change CPU since i was in a hurry to get my dream build just working about a year ago when i suddenly decided to go to college while also working full time.. so i did not had the 450$ at the time for the 4770k /4790k but i got the G3258 25th anniversary pentium ( best CPU for the money imo ) it perform so nicely for 80$, since then it's been paired up with an GTX980 for gaming! it still perform well for most games but with games like arma3 and such cpu intensive titles, it literally starve the GPU.. now I'm ready to buy the big cpu but will microsoft still activate my pc after the swap? thanks guy!

I've heard windows claim that 10 is better for gaming than 7, I have trouble believing this.(Fallout 3 can't be run on 10 or 8)
