Sorry for the long post but I need some help please. So, currently I have 3 deco M5 pods used for mesh WIFI (link) currently running at about 350mbps. I have checked with my ISP and I can upgrade to 1.1gb WIFI for cheaper than my current plan so am planning on doing it. problem 1: I am admittedly greedy and want 2.5gbE to my pc which my motherboard does support. now, my pc is upstairs and router is downstairs aswell as the fibre cable that comes into my house. problem 2: the Deco M5 pods can only run mesh WIFI at a max of 875mbps and, as I'm upgrading to much faster WIFI, I would also like to utilise that to the best of my ability. I have thought of a couple solutions that may work but I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on if they would even work in the first place or how to improve it. (ISP provided router link) solution 1: I plug my ISP into a 2.5gbe switch. Then I run an ethernet cable through my garage and into my room for a new router such as the ASUS TUF Gaming AX3000 V2 or to connect to my pc. This is a slight problem as the ASUS TUF Gaming AX3000 V2 does not have 2.5gbe. solution 2: I plug my ISP into the switch mentioned above and then connect my Deco M5 pods to the switch aswell as another Ethernet port to my pc. this would mean that I can maybe get 2.5gbe when it becomes available from my ISP to my pc but I was wondering if it would work if I connect the pods to the switch and then the switch to my ISP router. (I attached an image because I'm awful at explaining stuff) router setup maybe?? If anyone could help me with any solutions they have, you would be a life saver and make my year if you need any more info, feel free to ask

I currently rent my modem/switch/ect. box from my cable internet service provider. With three gaming PCs in the house on wired connections and at least one tv streaming video over wifi most of the time, I'm looking to upgrade to something that I can own and will perform a LOT better that what I'm currently using. I have NO IDEA where to start. I honestly don't know the difference between a router and a modem, so product suggestions for what to get and a small explanation would be massively helpful. Thanks! Attached below is an image of the cable routers and modems listed as compatible by my ISP on their website, but I am unsure of if there are more.

What is the best wireless gaming extender? My internet keeps going in and out and annoys me. I switch from one connection to the other and both do the same. I’ve upgraded one as well. My internet provider should’ve gotten me 50mbps but they lowered it to 40mbps for some reason. I’ve heard that the Netgear Nighthawk X6S AC3000 (EX8000) was the best but I wanna know the pros and cons of this and others

I have been having this issue for a while now. I have two wifi access points just next to each other, each has different ISP. One for work(network A), one for the rest of the family to use (network B). I, for obvious reason, prefer using the network A for my devices. I still use Network B from time to time to access file from my old laptop. Network B often lost internet connection (ISP's fault) and is definitely not suitable for work use. The problem is my laptop (windows 11) keeps on jumping back to this network during work. It would not be an issue when the internet is fine, but it lost connection frustratingly often (logged the ping for a whole day, 1700ish instances of RTO, 600ish during my work hours with 12 instances of it lasted more than 3 minutes which is bad for my work). The thing is, the Connect automatically option was disabled for network B, and is turned on for Network A. I ended up "forget"-ing the network during my work hour to avoid frustration, however it's still not ideal, since I do interact with that network pretty frequently outside my work hour (streams movies from my old laptop, accessing old files, or doing the "Son, why is the internet doesn't work" stuff, etc). Does anyone ever have the same issue, or even better, have a solution for this?

CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K GPU: GA106 [GeForce RTX 3060 Lite Hash Rate] by NVIDIA Motherboard: Z690 UD DDR4 by Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Memory: 2x16GiB DIMM DDR4 Synchronous 2133 MHz CMK32GX4M2D3600C18 by Corsair WLan Stick: FRITZ!WLAN AC 860 by AVM 2 Screens 2TB HDD 5WD Blue SN570 500GB SSD (OS is installed on SSD)* OS: POP-OS 22.04 / Windows 10* 700W Power Supply* (*more about that in the text) So here is what happened. (At this point on Windows 10 with a 650W Power Supply) At first randomly my internet disconnected, sometimes the WLan Stick disconnected (the Driver showed that the Stick was not plugged in when it was) and sometimes I got "No Internet, Secured" below the name of the WLan i was connected to. Sometimes when this happened I could fix it by restarting my PC, however both the normal Shutdown and Restart had the Problem that my PC would not shut down, it would say shutting down for abnormally long (the longest I once waited was 1 Hour then I held the power button to shut it down). I know that the large amount of sometimes here are not very helpful but other times it would restart just fine so sadly I cannot be more specific. Then one day, I came home and my PC would no longer turn on. (This was about half a year ago) As I know nearly nothing about Hardware, I brought it to a Repair Shop and they said my Power Supply broke and suggested a 700W one instead. This worked and the PC turned on again, however the internet and shutdown problems persisted. I wanted to know more about the shutdown thing and saw a article where putting a key in registry gives details during the shutdown, I tried this and found out everything closes fine and only at the very end when it only says shutdown is when it gets stuck. For about a Month or so this got progressively worse. To the point where the past week I connected to the Internet opened a Website it loaded (in the Background Discord started as well) and as soon as I clicked anything my internet went out (or if I waited to long before opening my browser). I only get a few second of WLan and then nothing. If I leave the WLan stick in my PC it also starts to lag frequently. However, If I use my Ethernet cable to connect to the Router then my Internet works like normal. Except if I use my Ethernet cable to connect to a different PC that Shares WiFi then it does not work. Some thing Windows gave me to work with where, the Troubleshooter often said not a valid IP configuration and then "fixed" it (it did not help). And while I do not remember the exact error something about ip negotiation failing. Yesterday I got so fed up with this that I changed my OS to POP-OS and there I do get Internet. However sometimes there is a Pop up saying that "activation of network connection failed" (I still have Internet when that pops up) I can use the Browser and do my work for school which is good, but I would also like to play games so I decided to set up a VM first with VirtualBox but after discovering that VirtualBox only supports OpenGL 1.1 which is not enough for the games I want to play I tried setting up qemu/kvm however I could not get that to work. Also my first time booting up POP-OS the screen just stayed black after the press F12 to enter BIOS screen and once there was a prolonged shutdown (this one did shutdown on its own) with the Message "libvirt-guests.sh[15270]: Waiting for 1 guest to shut down." Annoyed at that I tried to reinstall Windows 10 to see if a clean install might fix it since POP-OS did get Internet. It did not, my second screen did not register at all and my first screen had a terrible resolution. Also no Internet. So I reinstalled POP-OS to ask for help and to be able to do school stuff while this is still an issue. There I noticed that BEFORE installing POP-OS again I had 4 Boot devices. UEFI: Intenso Basic Line 8.07 (Thats the USB with the POP-OS installer) Windows Boot Manager (WD Blue SN570 500GB) UEFI OS (WD Blue SN570 500GB) Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS (WD Blue SN570 500GB) (I tried to boot into the already existing POP-OS but only got a command line menu with BusyBox v1.30.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.30.1-7ubuntu3) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. help revealed a reboot command that I tried but did nothing.) Not sure if that's related but my currently fresh installation of POP-OS has 447.5 GB / 481.6 GB available. NOW, I can use Firefox and do work for school so there is no immediate need for action, however I would still like to sort this out. I have tried the WLan stick with other devices and it works, at all times when I don't have Internet on my PC I had Internet with my Phone (Mobile Data disabled) while in the same WiFi. Plugging the Router in and out does nothing. Since this started we changed contract and got an entirely different router and nothing changed. I have another device also with POP-OS and it never had that pop-up or issue with shutting down. No other device I ever had was stuck at Shutdown. I tried a bunch of different windows options Performance Mode, Power Saving Mode, Fast Shutdown, No Fast Shutdown. The drivers where all up to date. And since a clean install of Windows did not fix anything either. At this point I am quite confident that this might be a hardware issue. As i still know nearly nothing about Hardware, I am out of ideas and have no idea what could even cause this problem. I would greatly appreciate any help, hints at what part might be broken or what you would do in my situation. Thanks for reading. (Not sure if that matters at all but just now I had to try to install POP-OS twice because the first time it gave the error "block count 119870981 exceeds size of device (4096 blocks)", after holding the Power button and starting it again it installed normally.)

Hey guys I need help. I'm trying to help my friend install his Wifi card (TL-WN881ND) remotely and things aren't working out. His PC recognize the card and he installed the latest driver, but he still can't connect to any network. When he tries to connect to his network nothing happens. Like if it's not even trying to connect. I'm out of ideas and that's the 2nd card that does this with his PC. You'd save us a lot of trouble if some generous souls could help us fix this. Thank you very much. 322654829_5849456245143300_5927992955510008432_n.mp4

Internet connection is stuttering and often disappears for several seconds. Both with ethernet and wifi. Factory reset the router and the problem persists. ISP says everything seems fine on their end and connected my PC directly to the source instead of through the router to check. Problem persists. I don't think anything is wrong with my pc because all connected devices experience the stutters. Any ideas? Kinda giving up hope here.

Hello, I recently got an MSI b550m pro VDH wifi motherboard and after a BIOS update, I built the tower, i went into the BIOS settings to make sure it recognized everything and it did. I then installed windows and I try to use the WiFi function on the board as I can not permanently have an ethernet cable hooked up, and no dice, no wireless networks. I have been racking my brain for a while now, here are some of the things I have tried 1. resetting network settings 2. installing new drivers directly from MSI and for the specific board 3. running the netsh reset codes Any advice is helpful, thank you very much

I got my pc built about 2 years ago. since like 6 months, it freaks out after hours of being turned on. The load could be as light as playing an mp4 and after 3-4hours it disconnects my wifi and refuses to do anything unless i force reboot it. I suspect it could be windows, as I also have issues with recieving updates. plz help i3 10th gen 10100f gt710 crucial 2900 mt value ram msi h510 motherboard -
Hi everyone, im planning to shift around the way that i currently have my smart stuff connected. I like buying new stuff but if there is a chance to do it with what i currently have on hand and can avoid E-Waste it would be great. On hand i have 2 retired isp gigabit AIO router/modems that i can repurpose as hubs/access points. Also and Asus AC2400 2 Galaxy note phones that i can repurpose as security cameras or whatever project you guys have in mind. My current problem is that the best wifi comes from the archer ax6000 and i believe its coming close to its bandwith max capacity due to the amount of smart devices always running of it, so my idea was to separate all smart stuff to the asus router and keep the AX6000 as a clean for gaming and streaming wifi source. Walls are brick or concrete, there is a lot of conduit for ethernet wich is not being taken advantage of so if you have suggestions on how should i rearrange the stuff for max compatibility it would be great. Other big issue im facing is that my Studio Gaming PC/ Plex Server has a hard time being found by the living room tv/ps5 since it goes straight to the isp modem and the rest of the stuff goes to the ax6000. I like having everything connected there for better continuity between IoT and google assistant. In case there are many grammatical errors im sorry, not my native language. Hope you guys have ideas for this, also any cool smart integrations will be appreciated.

I have a brand new build with brand new everything...I installed my Windows 10 via a USB drive. The sytem works totally fine with the exception of having 0 wifi networks and I have no idea why. There are not even any networks popping up to identify. I literally have nothing. Mobo - strix B650 e wifi Samsung 970 evo 1tb CPU - 7700x Ram - g skill flare 6000 mghz 32 gb PSU - RM850x GPU - TUF 3080ti Everything is brand new and I have no idea why the OS will simply not identify or show any wifi networks at all. Reset and restarted the router. attempted to manually enter in the router info and got Error 651....I have no idea what that means. Appreciate any and all help. Thanks Happy Holidays.

Budget (including currency): no budget but hopefully not looking over £40 Country: England Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: games Other details I’ve got all my stuff for a mid range gaming pc and remembered I forgot about Wi-Fi as from a description assumed it was built in however the board I’m getting (ASrock Z590 pro4) has an m.2 Wi-Fi slot would an Intel ax201 wireless card be sufficient to connect me to the internet (I’m sorry if it’s obvious I just want to triple check) as Ethernet is not a current option. thank you for any advice I’m just trying to make sure I don’t get the wrong thing.

Hi people, I am using a Galaxy S21 and my partner has her 11 pro Max. The issue is when connecting to our home wifi my connection speeds way outperform hers and she struggles to get decent connection. Both on 5ghz, sitting right next to each other. Is it just her phones antenna? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, currently staying at my parents place for the holidays, and my laptop has this wierd internet issue going on. The internet connects no problem, but every minute or so I stop receiving any data for 20-30 seconds. I don't lose connection to the router/modem, I just stop receiving data, attached is a screenshot of my task manager which I think shows the problem better than I can describe. I am using a 64 bit windows 10 asus laptop I have checked for drivers, tried an older driver and used the asus wifi driver repair tool (kinda suspicious this exists) The built in asus software isn't showing any issues or outdated bios It is an i5-11357G integrated iris xe graphics intel ssd 16gb RAM My parents have xfinity, no other devices are having this problem and I have never seen this at home. I have restarted the modem and laptop multiple times. I ran flush dns, and I have set my ipv4 dns to googles 8's. I have never seen something like this, nor could I find much info from googling. I am not great with network stuff, so if you need more info please let me know. Thanks for the help.

Got a question about MOCA. So I know my modem can do Moca, but what else do I need to connect my ethernet cable to coax through this device in the link below? Do I just plug the two cables into it or are splitters and such required? I'm exploring other ways to stream to my TV besides WIFI since I no longer have a cable TV box. Link: MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter

Hi Everyone, I have a few questions regarding Wifi 6 and the speeds you're supposed to get in the LAN. This has nothing to do with internet speed, but how fast stuff like file transfers etc happen inside the LAN. I did some testing on the network and it doesn't make sense that the connection is so slow when using wireless. Unless I am missing something, and that is why I am here. Setup: Asus AX56U Router (Wifi 6 enabled) (Latest Firmware) 1x PC with Intel Wifi 6 AX200 Adapter, and 1x 2.5Gb LAN Port 1x Laptop with Intel Wifi 6 AX201 Adapter. Guest Networks and QoS are turned off. All firewalls on PC and Laptop are turned off during the tests. There were only one other laptop on the network at the time, but it wasn't being used. The results made no difference whether my phone was on the network or not, so I know it's not saturation of the bandwidth. Tests were done with a 20MB packet size using LAN Speed Test. Tried different packet sizes, but it made no real difference, the tests just took longer to complete. According to the product page, the router is capable of up to 1201Mbps, and I realise this is only a theoretical speed, but the speeds I'm getting on file transfer or tests is a lot lower. My results were as follows: Control Test (Wired): 500Mbps W, 650Mbps R PC Wired, Laptop Wifi: 259Mbps W, 189Mbps R PC Wireless, Laptop Wired: 225Mbps W, 449Mbps R All Wireless: 127Mbps W, 149Mbps R When I turned on QoS, it made no real difference, but with the Guest Networks it tanked on all tests, with the All wireless connection to around 70Mbps both R and W. I realise that the advertised speeds aren't what you would expect in real world conditions, but getting less than 10% of the advertised speed when in a full wireless network doesn't seem right. I am also aware that Wifi 6 doesn't mean faster network speeds than perhaps 5Gz, but allows for more bandwidth and devices to connect. If somebody can explain to me why things might be so slow, how I can improve it, or point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

from my understanding 2.4 can output up to 450 Mbps and has a farther distance and 5 ghz can output up to 1300 Mbps but has a way shorter range. so my question is why am i getting 200+ mbps from 5 ghz but only 90-100 on 2.4 when my pc is on the opposite side of the house far away from the router. ik 5 ghz is faster but im farther away. im very confused.

Seeking advice on whether this is a software issue or a hardware issue. Recently purchased a pre-built gaming PC. It's the "best" model from Redux whose specs can be found here. It's running on the most recent Windows 11 version. It's brand new out of the box. Nothing has been modified or touched. I already went through steps with their support team and they haven't been able to help me fix this. I'm genuinely stumped. The Issue: The internet works fine when I use WiFi. The Ethernet is defaulting to the lowest possible video quality and buffering. The Bluetooth randomly drops out (like if you muted the video) and comes right back in. No explanation. I set up the internet using a Cat 8 Ethernet cable. The cords are only a month old so there's no chance it's the cord. I was using it on my previous computer with no issues. My internet is a 1Gig plan which I've tested routinely during this. It's not my internet service. What I tried: Went into the Windows Troubleshooter and ran scan after scan. It detects no issues with the LAN drivers or the WiFi. It did detect a radio channel issue with the Bluetooth but it stated it fixed whatever that issue may have been. Still having the Bluetooth drops regardless. I went into the Device Manager and manually checked for hardware updates. None were listed so I eventually uninstalled the LAN driver and reinstalled it. That didn't fix the issue either. Even tried toying with internet settings and changing my DNS (tried both Google and Cloudfare). No fix. My last step which was today was I did a full reinstall of the OS. I had no real loss because the computer was so new but even after the reinstall the issue persisted. I'm at the point now where I think the issue is hardware related and related to the actual motherboard they used. The motherboard is the ASUS B660 Series | Intel The only reason I think it's hardware is both the Ethernet and Bluetooth are showing issues and that's the common denominator. I'm just trying to figure out if maybe something is simply in conflict and I'm not actually dealing with a hardware issue. (I hope) No one from Redux has been able to give me an answer and I'm running out of ideas beyond just returning it. I'm hoping one of you might have an idea of what I could try. I appreciate your help in advance. Edit: Ending up solving it through a random search. Turns out the Intel chips used in my specific computer do not work correctly with the IP6 prototols of my ISPs provider. I had to go into my network settings and manually disable all of the IP6 processes and the issue completely fixed itself. Honestly, frustrating as all hell but grateful I found the issue. The video in question I found:

Hi everyone, I bought an used Omen obelisk 875 PC and I am having important connection drops each 30-40 seconds. This occurs with every wifi connection even if the signal is good. here follows a screenshot of the command "ping -t 8.8.8.8" I ran to verify. I kindly ask for help troubleshooting the possible cause, thank you in advance.
