My wifi is kinda bad, and I have to restart my router all the time. For example, my ping to 8.8.8.8 becomes higher than 300 ms sometimes. Also, it never gets higher than 70 Mbps. Help, how can I make wifi faster, even my school wifi is better. EDIT: I am not connected using Ethernet, because my router is in an awkward position. -
Hey! Without changing anything or going into any internet/router settings my connection in games started breaking. I tested with different games so it's not a one game issue. For example, in Fortnite I can run around and play the game like normal before all of a sudden the connection is lost and I'm sent back to the main menu. The same thing happens in Discord when in a voice chat with friends, all is well and then it lags without any warning. I'm connected via LAN from a WiFi extender (Speed Home Wifi - Telekom), this has not been an issue for about three years now. What is strange to me about this is that at no point does my internet connection break. I can load websites, watch videos, etc. I even had Fortnite going in the background and as I was browsing around and the game "lost" it's connection while everything else loaded without an issue. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? Maybe someone knows a diagnostic tool I can run or something? I'm really confused and it's very annoying. My current Netgear nighthawk WiFi 6 router just died. My last 2 Netgear routers have had issues after using alot of Netgear routers in the past. So I'll be switching to Asus to give it a try. I didn't know if I should buy a WiFi 6 router again or should I just make the upgrade to WiFi 6E and spend the extra $200 for the price of the router. I see WiFi 7 is just around the corner as well though. Is it even worth it paying that extra amount for getting access to 6ghz band? The routers I'm looking at is the - Asus ROG Rapture gt ax11000 pro - Asus ROG Rapture gt axe16000

Ok, so I just completed my build, after having prebuilt’s for years I finally was able to build my own. I have built computers for my friends, and have taken apart a lot of stuff as well. I consider myself knowledgeable when it comes to tech. So have completing my build I had a few minor issues, but I fixed them all, I put in my windows 11 boot drive and got in. Now here comes the issue, I can’t get through the windows 11 setup, I made to the wifi part of the setup and all it says is “Ethernet: Not connected”. I have my ethernet connected, I’m stumped, I’ve tried everything I can think of, I checked driver, but I saw nothing on wifi.

I need help developing a plan for a Wi-Fi/internet setup for a rented house. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to drill Holes or mess with stuff, it also does not have any Ethernet or even coax for Moca. The home does have a crawl space above the selling on the second floor, and the entry is in the same room as the internet ISP gateway, my tentative plan is to run ethernet up to the crawl space and have two ubiquity access points up there. I tried the Unify designer, but it does not work with two stories. any other ideas? The problem is that the downstairs home office is one of the most important. i have been considering eero or plume mesh wifi. if any other information is needed, let me know

Hello LLT community, I'm in need of some guidance regarding a much-needed Wi-Fi upgrade. When Plume was first released, my dad opted for it as the best available option at the time. However, it's become clear that an upgrade is long overdue. Plume is limited to Wi-Fi 5, operates on a subscription service, and is frustratingly slow to boot up. Our internet connection is through Comcast Business, and we're fortunate to have it provided by a FAANG company. We have a medium-sized home with a growing number of devices, and three of us are working from home, making a robust and reliable Wi-Fi network essential. Considering these factors, I've been contemplating upgrading to Wi-Fi 6E. It appears to be a suitable choice for our needs given its enhanced speed, capacity, and ability to accommodate a multitude of devices. However, I'd love to hear from the LLT community for any advice, suggestions, or alternative recommendations you might have. Your experience and insights would be invaluable in helping me make an informed decision. Here are some specific questions I have: Wi-Fi 6E: Is it indeed the right choice for our situation? Router Recommendations: Are there specific Wi-Fi 6E routers or brands that you've had success with? Mesh Networking: Should I consider a mesh system for better coverage in our medium-sized home? A few months back, I got an email from my ISP saying that someone used my network to pirate a game. I called them and told them that there wasn't anyone I knew in the house and someone must've been stealing our Wi-Fi. I changed the password and even signed up for and installed Glasswire, which seemed to have worked for a while. Then I got another email saying that someone used my connection to install two games (one of which was the same game as last time.) I will change the password and the SSID, but I want to ensure this won't happen again. I just started online classes, and the only other ISP has poor service in my area. Are there wireless access points with a lockout feature for too many failed attempts to authenticate to the network? Any other tips are much welcome. This also only happened after I got a Synology NAS, but I don't know if that has anything to do with this.

Hi, I'm new to mesh Wi-Fi networks and I’m currently using a D-Link DIR‑1960, EXO AC1900 Smart Wi‑Fi Router along with a Netgear Wi-Fi extender AC1200. The extender isn’t the best…. I would like to set up a mesh network but I don’t what to have to change my Wi-Fi router. Is their anything I could pair with it that would enable me to achieve this? I’ve had a look online but I keep falling down the rabbit hole and I keep getting suggested TP-Link extenders… confused. I don’t need a lot of extra coverage so an extra 1 or 2 nodes/access points would be ideal…. Thanks Adam

My wifi has stopped working I’ve tried resetting my router, resetting my settings, factory reset, control prompt codes, delete and installing fresh drivers and entering Google’s DNS and still nothing is working does anyone know how to fix this? I’m windows 11 if that helps cheers.

My Ethernet was working fine, however the next day and currently it’s still not working I’ve tried many videos online trying to fix my wifi, but it’s telling me it can’t connect to the DHCP server. I’ve even reset my whole pc and still had no luck please has anyone had this issue recently with windows 11 and managed to fix it and if so could you please pass on how to do so thank you.

Basically, on my new build (built abt a month ago or so) my internet speed is acting wonky, My download speed is around 800-950 MBPs, but my upload speed is absolutely terrible, and has under 1 MBPs upload speed consistently. Sorry if my terminology is off, but I am looking for a consumer-grade router that can allow me to create an SSID that runs through a VPN (PIA) and a separate SSID that is 6GHz only. Not looking to break the bank, not sure where to look online. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -

just built a 2 pc for my friend same problem both had bad wifi drivers but i managed to fix the asus tuff motherboard but i can with the aorus need help i installed the diver off gigabyte web new one couldn't install right so i got a older version and seem to install right but still didn't work

Hi, Im looking for a mini m.2 connecter that gives ability to have a fan header. I have HP EliteDesk 705 G4 DM and it has a wifi card slot, want to take out wifi card and add in m.2 card that can give one or two fan connects.

So, i´ve been having huge Internet issues from one day to the other, it started yesterday when i wanted to play a game with my friend and my ping was ~800 (the server was in Warsaw and i live on the german-dutch border) i then tested my ping to Frankfurt and it was always around 600. Today i had the idea to test the speed in general and it significantly dropped too, the Download is ~1mb with Wifi and 5mb with ethernet. What can I do/why is it like that?

I have recently noticed this, and it is getting to be quite annoying on my iPhone X. On my iPhone, my wifi just stopped working for some reason. The button is greyed out and I can't click it, so I am unable to use wifi. The same thing happens with Bluetooth. It just keeps on "infinently loading," but I am unable to connect to bluetooth. I have tried restarting(multiple times) and force restarting(multiple times). Any solutions to this are appreciated.

Hi, I'm planning to buy a sideboard from ikea (see picture) and I'm concerned about possible connectivity issues with my ps5 due to the sideboard being out of metal mesh. Does anyone have any information about connectivity issues with Bluetooth and WiFi on a ps5 in a metal mesh box? Cheers

My computer is losing connection to game severs. it started a week after i got the pc and have bine the same for the last 7 months , every once in a while 1 or 2 an hour the game that I'm playing just disconnects from the sever or freezes for 10 to 15 seconds (players not game) and my discord stops and then restarts. my WIFI doesn't go out and even with ethernet this still happens. I don't think its my motherboards in build Wi-Fi because i have used a external Wi-Fi adapter and it doesn't change. i have bine told it could be my power supply because its not main brand and theres not emough power is going to my parts. it also might be my motherboard. I don't know that much about computers and with the games i like to play like rust where you have to download the sever again and sometimes wait in a queue to get back in. this makes imposable to play it with this happening.

Hi all - I am currently building a NAS for my home and I had a Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard sitting around that I wanted to use for the project. The motherboard has WiFi on it and I was wondering since I know in Gigabytes BIOS there is no way to disable the WiFi, if it is possible to disable it somehow in TrueNAS? I do not want to have to get a different motherboard if I can avoid it. -

I have AT&T fiber 500 Mbps connection. All my other devices(laptop, android phone mac computer) seem to easily hit the 500 mbps download on speed test, but the wifi on my desktop after installing this new usb wifi adapter barely gets to 200 mbps. I have checked everything else and I only thing that is weird is the receive link speed being capped at 54 mbps when the wireless adapter should be capped at 1.3 GB. Link to wireless adapter: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/a7000 To make things weirder when I run "netsh wlan show interface" on the cmd prompt I get this: Receive rate (Mbps) : 1300 Transmit rate (Mbps) : 1300 I've tried updating device driver and even downgrading the netgear software version.
