Does the OnePlus 3 support 5Ghz as well as 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi? Because on the specs it doesn't say duel band. it only says: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac

I just moved about two weeks ago, and have been having a series of problems with the internet. Most are fixed now, however I am unable to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable on my main PC. I can connect to 192.168.0.1 and change settings on the router, and connect via wifi, but I can't connect to the internet through ethernet. On all other devices it works fine. When I connect on my main PC the network shows up as CableBox-XXXX, but on all other devices it shows up with the same name as the wifi.

Hi! I've recently installed CM13 on my LG G2 D802 and I sadly found out that it doesn't connect to Eduroam (educational wi-fi with PEAP authentication). I've saw many posts on Cyanogenmod.org: - https://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/120117-wi-fi-problem/#comment-563659 - https://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/104899-corporate-wifi-issue-8021x-eappeapmschapv2-connectivity/#comment-502043 aaaand I've tried several methods like: - https://eric10234.wordpress.com/2013/03/24/android-connecting-to-enterprise-wifi/ - https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/android-6-0-attention-before-upgrading-eduroam-802-1x-eap.438046/ But it just doesn't want to work... So this is my last SOS call... Does anyone know how to solve it? Thanks in advance, Denis

I have a TP-Link TL-WDN4800 in my custom build and recently the wireless signal strength has been abysmal. I used to get ~60% signal strength even though there is a few walls in between my router and my tower. However recently the signal strength has become a major issue as the signal is ~10% strength and constantly cuts out. Meanwhile my laptop and phone still get the same ~60% signal strength. I have resorted to using my phone as a wireless adapter using USB tethering or the time being. I have been considering investing in a EOP (Ethernet Over Power) or "Powerline" adapter. However i thought i should ask here and attempt to troubleshoot the adapter as it is only my desktop that is having the issue with the wireless strength. [subnote] I have checked all the drivers and attempted basic hardware troubleshooting.

Hello everyone! First of all, I hope this is the right forum to post this, I just started my journey on the LTT forums. I built my rig around last month and equipped it with a D-Link N 150 wireless USB adapter (DWA-127) to be able to go online via wi-fi, as a wired ethernet connection isn't possible from my desk. Everything worked fine until 2 days ago when I noticed that my connection seemed to time out during gaming. Once I exited a game, everything worked as normal again. I tried donwloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website and once that didn't work I reinstalled the adapter software from the CD that came alongside it and disabled my PC to be able to turn it off automatically, but the problem still remained. I then tried to switch the adapter from its USB 2.0 port to a USB 3.0 port and most things worked alright - I could watch videos and stream movies so I decided to test it with some games again. Hearthstone worked like a charm and I didn't get any disconnects or noticeable lag. I then tried the Witcher 2 via Steam and the same problem occured. I tried again with a different game (Rocksmith) and everything worked fine. I've reached a point where I don't know what to do anymore, I doubt that it's a problem with the Witcher since it has no multiplayer, but can a USB adapter like mine simply get overworked to the point of stopping to work? I'm starting to suspect that I simply didn't buy a good enough adapter, but I'm honestly just speculating at this point. Any replies would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I'm staying in a hotel. The laptop is recognizing the network and says it's connected. When I launch Edge, in 10, it should go to the hotels website for me to enter the code. Instead, it says there's no connection. I know there is, i'm connected on another device. I did reset my tcp stack. I have disabled and re-enabled my wi-fi. I even cleared the cache. I'm out of ideas. When running the diagnostics, it says I'm missing one or more network protocols. I use that system at home on my wi-fi network and it functions properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I have a small problem. Since a view weeks i got this really anoying problem where every once in a while all my devices at my home, (Phones, Computers, laptops,) witch are connected to the internet via Wi-fi, simply won't connect. Most of the time it works commpletly normal. But sometimes all my devices pick up the signal and try to connect to the Wi-fi and just ,,don't,, It doesn't give out any error message. It simply won't connect. I called my Internet provider and they sent me a new router. ..twice.. I really don't know what's the problem because after a restart it usualy works again. I would be insanely happy if anyone has some tips or trick's or if anyone experinenced the same problem. Thanks in advance. Samuel

Hey all, I want to improve my network speeds, at the moment I am using a basic netgear wi-fi usb adapter, but I am hoping to upgrade. Sadly, I don't have enough space for a pcie wireless card due to the amount of slots on my motherboard and I would be reluctant to upgrade my motherboard as I have a custom water cooling set-up, also, a Ethernet cable isn't viable due to both distance and student accommodation. Which leaves me, to what I believe the only option, a wireless usb adapter. My knowledge of networking isn't particular vast, therefore, being a subject that I am not well versed in, I'm curious as to whether a wi-fi extender with an Ethernet port to allowing me to run a wired connection would Would running an Ethernet cable from a wireless extender give me faster speeds than a usb wireless adapter? My knowledge of networking isn't particular vast and I am curious whether this would be a better arrangement that a standalone usb adapter? I am also aware that there also the option of buying a second router and similarly using that as a wi-fi extender. What is the optimal set-up for high speeds? A wireless usb, or the aforementioned extender + Ethernet cable? ^ If yes, then what would be the best set-up for this, both without a price limit, and the most cost effective way. ^ If no, then what would be the best usb wireless adapter choice? I did some basic research and found that both Asus and Netgear had quite price competitive devices such as the Netgear AC1200 and the Asus AC-53/AC-55 Oh and if you are curious, I am UK based and I am with Virgin for my internet, I have fibre-optic, and theoretically can experience speeds of up to 200mbs down, so there isn't the concern of building a set-up that would be capped by my internet provider. Many thanks, AS

Hello, I've got a brand new Dell XPS 13 9350 and I'm having big problems connecting to my houses Wi-Fi network. I live in a student apartment building and we all share Wi-Fi. 95% of the time I simply get the "can't connect to this network" message. The few times I manage to connect it fades away in about five minutes and either comes back for another five minutes or disappears for good. My other devices, that aren't running Win 10(android phone, chromecast), have never had any problem whatsoever with the connection. I also have a desktop that runs Win 10 and connects via Wi-Fi with an ASUS PCE adapter. The desktop connected fine for about 3 months and then I got the exact same problem I have with my laptop now. No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to connect to the houses Wi-Fi connection. After days of googling and trying different fixes I installed this Broadcom BCM-43xx Wireless Lan Drivers Version 7.35.308.0 WHQL driver and the problem was instantly solved. Now, with my laptop I think I've tried all the most common fixes; forgetting the network and adding it manually, searching for the latest drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers from Dell's website, turning off 20/40 coexistance, turning off IPv6(not by tweaking the registry though), manually setting the DNS server IP... I don't know what to do anymore. To summarize: Win 10 desktop connects fine and so does android phone and chromecast but not my new laptop(connects fine to other networks though). I'm guessing it's got to have something to do with Win 10 and/or some driver/setting based on the circumstances. My Centrino 6205 is not working. I am running Windows 10 and I think that may be the problem but the website says the 8.1 drivers will work. I don't know what to do and this is my first build. Thanks

Its been over a year since LinkNYC announced plans to provide free gigabit Wi-Fi in all five NYC boroughs, and beta access at some locations is now live! Original thread here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/252749-nyc-to-replace-public-pay-phones-with-10000-free-gigabit-wifi-pylons/ Engadget's Devindra Hardawar writes, (Images via Twitter) LinkNYC says they plan on having 500 spots running by July. Sources: http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/19/linknyc-gigabit-wifi-hands-on/ http://www.theverge.com/2016/1/19/10789468/new-york-public-wi-fi-linknyc-connected http://www.link.nyc/ They even said that they aren't going to prevent people from using it as an exclusive home internet connection which is incredible. Sure speeds will drop once the network gets loaded down, but it still represents an amazing step towards ubiquitous internet access.

Hello. I currently run two operating systems in my pc. One is windows 7 and the other one is windows 10. When i tryed to connect to my internet wireless from windows 10 i couldnt because my adaptor didnt suppoer them. So i bought a new one and i placed bothed of them at windows 7 with their drivers simutanously and it seems that they block each other. The problems continues to wondows 10 too even that i uninstalled their drivers. By the way when i connect my new USB adaptor my old adaptor also shows up as unidentified device. Also when i try to connect to my Wi-Fi it says limited access or limited depending on the operatig system. My problem is that my computer is about 7-8 meters away from my computer and there is a wall between them too. I changed the router and the new one has lower signal range but that isnt the problem. The problem is that since i upgraded my computer to windows 10 i was needed to change my adaptor (tlr8187_wireless) since there weren't any drivers for this version of windows and i couldn't get any signal at all i bought a usb adaptor that supports windows 10 and the speed now is even lower. When i had the computer connected with cable i had speed about 4.3 Mbytes per second. With my old router connected to my pc where is is now i had about 85% of that. With new router at windows 7 i have about 0.5-0.6 Mbytes with picks of 1 Mbytes or 1.5 Mbytes in some cases. But with windows 10 and the new usb adaptor i have about 0.3 Mbytes per second. What should i do? Changing the router is out of the quetion right now. One last thing. My phone with Speedtest app gets around 3.2 Mbytes per second in the same room. i though of making my phone a Wi-Fi hotspot connected from the router and sending to my pc but i meat a lot of technical problems and i couldnt get throuth it. I am sorry about my bad english and i hope you could understand what i want to say and maybe help me out.

*Wall of text inbount* So today when I got home I updated the Rust server that I have running on my machine at home. I successfully updated the server and people were able to connect before and after the update. Then I attempted to get on ts3 with my freinds and my ts3 client couldn't connect to the server that they were on. My Skype, Steam and web browser were working just fine at the time. I tried to lookup a fix for the ts3 connection issue on google where I was met with a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET error from Chrome. I said okay, no big deal just need to fix my DNS settings. When I go to fix my DNS settings I noticed that I am connected to my second router in my house not the first and primary one that I am plugged into. The second router is SP_Booster and the First is UbeeDDW366. This really confused me because I am physically connected to the Ubee router/modem not the SP_Booster (which by the way is a Linksys E3200) I go into the Ubee web UI to see what is going on and I find that my PC is not listed in the DHCP clients list. So then I tried to connect to the web UI for the Linksys router and the connection times out. I then unplug my pc from the Ubee router and into the Linksys to attempt to get a look at the web UI. Windows doesn't recognize the connection and can't connect to the Internet from the Linksys router. I then grab my Wi-Fi dongle and plug it into my PC to see if I can connect to the Linksys via Wi-Fi, which I can and I see that the ip of the Linksys router is 192.168.0.21, which is an IP that was listed in the DHCP clients list on the Ubee router. So the Linksys router is connected to the Ubee router but when I use Ethernet to connect directly to the Linksys it fails. However when I connect to the Ubee router via Ethernet or Wi-Fi it moves the connection to the Linksys router. My problem is when I am connected to the Ubee router via ethernet my connection is moved to the Linksys router and my DNS settings get screwed up and even with manually entering the IP and DNS settings (using Google's DNSs btw) it still fails to load some things in my web browser and take multiple refreshes to get past the DNS errors that Chrome spits out. Is the Ubee router forwarding my connection to the Linksys router for some reason or is my PC responsible for the problem? How would I go about fixing this issue and getting my PC to connect to the Ubee router when directly connected to it via ethernet? I am sorry for the huge anecdote/wall of text, I am just trying to provide as much seemingly relavent information about this issue so that you guys can understand and help me, hopefully. Thanks!

So I'm really considering setting up a powerline over Ethernet to my room in the house I'm currently living in. If I had my choice I would just get a large spool of CAT5e or Cat 6 and run it through the attic down the wall and to my room however, given the circumstances I'm in that is not possible. My wi-fi while having its own channel on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz does get bogged down especially when everyone gets home and gets on their ipads computers etc. So I'm hoping I can get a more reliable connection this way. The house I'm living in was built in 1995-1996 which I'm hoping isn't too old to do this as I know proper wiring is essential for this to work well. The current pair of adapters I'm looking at are these guys. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014S58BBM/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i6_r?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=157CQJ7EPEQDTNNXTJRV&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop What I need to know is. 1) Is this a good set of adapters to get? Suggestions for better ones are welcomed. 2) Is something like this good enough to use for online gaming/HD streaming? As in better than AC wireless which I currently run off of. 3) What should I be looking for before sinking money into this? I know I read something about making sure its on the same circuit and that they are grounded but I don't exactly know how to tell that. Now I know there is no way in hell I would get the theoretical speed it advertises at 1200mbs but if I could even get 100mbs-300mbs that would more than beat out the current 54-72mbs I currently get on my wireless. Thanks for the help.

Hi everybody When i tried to open my laptop to search for something on the internet yesterday and I found out that I didn´t have internet on it and I don´t know why. It is the first time this has ever happened when I open my internet tab to connect to my Wi-Fi it says that the internet is secured and when I try to connect to it I get the message that I can´t connect to it. I have internet on alle my other devices and I've checked to see if I could find someone with the same problem but I couldn't Thank you in advance I wasn´t quite sure if I should post this here or somewhere else. EDIT: if you need any sort of information just write and I'll see if I can find I for you

I've been using a shitty little USB Wi-Fi adapter ever since I built my PC. Lately, I've started playing FPS's like Black Ops 2 and Titanfall, only to find that my ping is higher than the ISS! Now, my internet isn't bad by any means. I've been able to play console games(I have BO3 on PS4) no problem. I think the main problem here is that my computer is upstairs, while my console is down next to the router. Another thing to note is that my current adapter doesn't support 5Ghz connections. So, what's a good-quality Wi-Fi adapter - USB or PCI; it doesn't matter - that costs around or below $15? Preferably one that can connect to 5Ghz.

Amazon: http://geni.us/xYh NCIX: http://bit.ly/1QGh1f0 We know that super powerful hardware has no issues editing 4K video... But what about super slim "ultrabook" style laptops?

My router is downstairs, while my computer is upstairs in my room. Lately, I've noticed that my internet speeds are sucking all the dick, and this is especially noticeable while playing games like Black Ops 2(you can count on my ping being in the 500s range). So, I'm given two options: 1. Get a really long ethernet cable(or a couple; connecting them with extenders), and string it up on the walls all the upstairs to my room, or 2. Get a Wi-Fi repeater with an ethernet port, and set it up in my room, connecting it to my desktop. Just so you know, my internet is not bad by any means. I'm usually able to watch YouTube videos at 1440p on my phone, or 1080p when somebody's using the internet. I think my computer's Wi-Fi adapter is just shit. In fact, when I use my Note 4 as a makeshift Wi-Fi adapter, my computer's internet speeds increase by 3 or 4 times!

I get around 70DL and 30UL on my laptop over wifi. And on my ps4 I get 1DL and 1.1UL, I tried changing DNS to googles one (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) as well as giving it a static IP and changing settings in my router to give it priority and I get no improvement at all. Do you know any other way without buying a repeater or powerline adapter that can improve the wifi? I'm assuming ps4 has a crap network card which is a bottleneck but 1mbps is a joke in this day,
