I am looking for a webcam that is able to do 60fps 1080 p video recording. As of right now i can only find webcams able to do 30fps 1080p video recording. I am also able to use an actual camcorder camera that is able to do a live feed to the computer that can do 1080p 60fps video recording or live feed viewing.

It's odd to me that smart phone cameras in 2019 offer better visuals and audio compared to what we see in laptops. Laptop webcams are typically rubbish quality visually and provide terrible audio. What if laptop manufacturers decided to put the mobile camera from the Google Pixel 3A in their laptops? I guess it would cost them a bit more working with Google but having a great quality camera to handle conference calls and such, would that be worth the cost of doing business with Google to consumers in laptops? I suppose it's debatable considering some people really care about webcam quality and others don't care if the laptop comes with a webcam at all.

So i don't exactly know how to explain this one because it seems different every time, but i'm gonna try my best. Information about the devices regarding the problem. I have the Steel Series arctic pro headset, which appears as two playback devices in windows (GameDAC Game and GameDAC Chat). And i have The Logitech C922 pro webcam. Every time my pc restarts either my webcam doesn't work or my headphones need to be re-plugged in order to work properly again. So, when my webcam doesn't work at startup, i re-plug it. but when i do so, my headphones just disappear when i'm looking at my playback devices and to be precise only the one named Game DAC Game dissapears. Then i re-plug my headphones in order to get GameDAC game back in my playback devices list so i can use it again. After that my webcam either stays on and everything is okay or it turns off again and everything just repeats itself. The same thing happens at startup when my headphones don't work, but my webcam does. Or they both don't work at all after startup. So that's the problem and these are the solutions that i've tried: 1. Plugged each of them in every possible usb port on my pc. 2. Updated all the drives, after that downloaded them again and even tried e few combinations of older drivers for both my webcam and headphones. 3. Checked if my usb settings in windows were set correctly to support both devices the way they should (they were). 4. Checked them both on my laptop where they seem to work together just fine. I honestly have no clue as to what is wrong. it seems to me that the problem causing this is something or somewhere on/in this pc, So if you guys could suggest anything to try or actually know a solution to this i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Also, if you need extra information that i didn't put in here to help me, feel free to ask.

So I had an idea before I went to sleep that would rid my frustration of bad video quality from expensive webcams. My idea was getting a camera module, say from a old iPhone and trying to make it into a webcam. I mainly want to use it for video chats and just do not know how to go about starting this project. If you guys have any suggestions for what to do that would be great!

Greetings people of LTT, I was wondering whether my Canon 1300D DSRL are capable of producing clean HDMI? I understands that it doesn't supports 720p60fps nor 1080p30fps but hey, atleast I can settle with 72030fps with a synchronized output. So, I kinda want to know whether is those findings I found is legit before I went out looking and purchasing hardwares (HDMI cable & dummy battery pack).

I've decided on the C920 out of the lineup because it looks just as good for like ~20 dollars less than the others. Peep the linked video (should start at a high-movement part, Tyler uses the C920) but I noticed that even though the C920S seems like it's different than the C920, it's advertised on Amazon as the same cam just with the privacy thing. Is this the case? did they just add a privacy flipper thing? Btw, the S is a dollar more. That's the main reason for my question, if it comes with a privacy flip for a dollar, that would be simpler than a sticky note and cheaper than the ~10 dollar add-on. P.S. he cusses in the clip idk if I should make it a spoiler or something, you've been warned ?

Hundreds of thousands of IoT cameras from Apexis and their daughter brand Sumpple, sold mostly on Amazon and cheap webshops like AliExpress and Wish, can be accessed by anyone thanks to a database leak. The info in the database consists of email addresses and passwords, which allows anyone to connect to any of the cameras in the database. Apparently the camera's location data is also stored there, so it shouldn't be hard to find out which exact house you are spying on. The big problem lies in the database itself, which is secured by a password that appears in most "bad password" lists (so probably "monkey123" or "123456"). The data inside the database is also stored unencrypted. Once they enter the email address and password of a camera, intruders can control said camera, talk through the built-in speaker or simply watch and record the audio and video feed. (quote translated from the original Dutch article) This was discovered by hacker collective The Arcanum Group, who responsibly disclosed this to Apexis and Sumpple in early August. Because neither company bothered to reply or even change the database's password, they have now gone public. Apexis and Sumpple have been contacted by RTL News, the original source of the story, but both companies don't want to reply. Seeing as changing your password doesn't help, it looks like permanently unplugging the cameras is the only solution. Source : RTL News (in Dutch, will add English sources later tonight when this story gets more international coverage) English translation available at brica.de This is really bad. It looks like security really was an afterthought and the lack of response shows that they simply don't care. A lot of people who are not tech-savvy will have these cameras and never find out. And then there will be those that use the same password for their email account ... As Steve Gibson always says, the "S" in "IoT" stands for "Secure".

Due to the rise of Off-Site learning and the hysteria attributed to the pandemic, I need a webcam for school. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions or knows the right place to point me, please reply. Thank you

While I was looking for the ASUS ROG Strix x570-F gaming, I saw interesting thing in the ROG Strix Ecosystem portion near the bottom of the page - https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Strix-X570-F-Gaming/. Is it an upcomming RGB webcam? The picture I am talking about - https://dlcdnimgs.asus.com/websites/global/products/SHyFHDycuUrka0tY/img/aurasync2_product/aurasync2_product_5.png.

Hey so I was browsing through to find a good deal on a Logitech C920 and I came across multiple listings of a Logitech C920e on AliExpress. Just to make sure that there's no cheaper variants of C920, I visited Logitech's Official Store and to my surprise, a C920e doesn't exist at all. Here are the listings of the C920e I found: - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Logitech-HD-Pro-Webcam-C920-Widescreen-Video-Calling-and-Recording-1080p-Camera-Desktop-or-Laptop-Webcam/32701640157.html - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Logitech-C920e-hd-Webcam-Video-Chat-Recording-Usb-Camera-HD-Smart-1080p-Web-Camera-for-Computer/32869770621.html The sellers say the only difference is it having different packaging and new logo and so does the 400+ reviews. I'm just confused about what the actual deal is here and would love to know your thoughts on this. Thanks, Have a nice day!

Hi Forum, again, it's...been a while. I presently have a couple of webcams plugged into my desktop. I want to use one of them for its microphone and one of them for video (in different locations). Disabling the microphone I didn't want was trivial, but I'm stuck wanting to use the webcams with applications which don't let me explicitly choose which one to use. Looking through stuff for a couple of minutes, I realized that I didn't know where the option was, to then notice that the option isn't there at all. The advice given: 1 - Disable the unwanted webcam. I can't do this because with disabling the camera, the audio goes too. 2 - In Devices and Printers, right-click on the device you would prefer to be default and set it as default, in the case that it is not already default. I would happily do this and be done with it, but that option...doesn't exist. I'm not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions? Should I go and dig around in the registry until I find something?

So I posted a couple or three weeks ago asking for suggestions on a new webcam, because my Logitech C910 was stuttering and shutting itself off and on before I upgraded to my new build. Well since that post, I've attempted to stream. I went for 3 hours with no issues, no stuttering, no need to change any settings even set it to the max Streamlabs settings it would allow with no frame droppage or anything of the sort so my question is why does it work now? On the previous build I had 16GB DDR3 Ram, FX6300, Powercolor Red Dragon 8GB RX580, not sure of the motherboard that was in it. Power Supply was the same as is on my current build EVGA 850 BQ. Now I'd say it was the upgrade in CPU that fixed it but it wasn't always like that on the old system either. It worked fine for about 6-7 months and then the issues started, but now it's like if I had bought it brand new. So any clue as to what could cause it be running right again? The drivers between the last time I tried and it now haven't changed or been updated either. (Like there wasn't an update available.)

Hi all, I was wondering if there was any way to get Windows Hello to work on a webcam that does not have an IR sensor. In my case it would be the Logitech C525. Probably have to modify some sort of windows file to say 'yes this camera is certified' or have to develop a image recognition software with the camera ? If people haven't looked into it yet, where would I look to start learning? Thanks, Waffl

Hey everyone, I was wondering which DSLR cameras can be connected through USB and have a mode, where you can get the "preview" video through that. I have the Sony SLT a57, and you can sort of do it, but you have to go through a HDMI recording hardware for it to work, like the worthless, slow and delayed one I have, the Hauppauge HD Personal Video Recorder 2, which isn't realistic... because I have to do loads of syncing, and the delay on that thing is at least 5 seconds, which is hardcoded, because having a passthrough sending the raw footage wasn't a thought that they had, or that it was something people would like to have for some reason... And going back to the "you can sort of do it", not only is it so dependent on that recording hardware, through the HDMI, it sends ALL of the clutter, like the focus point(s) in the middle, and all of the clutter around the "preview" is included, so it's just cloning what you see on the LCD screen... So, what I'm asking is if there's anyone here that can help me compile a list of DSLR cameras that can send only their preview through USB, has the "rapidfire" mode where you can take loads of pics in a second and has the same fitting for the addon lenses as the SLT a57 has, so I don't have to buy those expensive things again, I have the Sony N50 55mm and the Tamron SP 70-300mm. So why do I want a DSLR, and not the video equivalence, is because I take loads of pics at various racing/car show events, so if I can get more out of the camera, it would be better, because as it is now, the SLT a57 can ONLY take pictures, or record a video, but that's it. And to save you time on your comment, yes, this is absolutely a thing that you can do, I just don't know what DSLRs support the USB passthrough, and have the rapidfire and the same "fitting" if-you-will, that the SLT a57 has, and no, I have no idea if everyone has the same "fitting", or different ones. So, I'm reaching out here because I wanna learn, as much as I would like to use a DSLR as a "webcam" to increase the quality on my streams/videos.

Man, its been long since i set foot in the forum last time... So, as the title suggests, im looking for a good webcam with Intel RealSense support, as id like to use the feature of hand tracking in FaceRig. So far, i have seen the two cameras Intel has to offer: the D415 and D435, aswell as the Razer Stargazer. And from what i have seen, the Intel cameras seem good, although i have little information on them, and the Razer Stargazer seem to be giving alot of people issues. And so i ask the communiuty: which cameras are out there, and what would be recommended to use?

Hello everyone, how to use your compact ? as webcam without capture card(cause its expensive here) for streaming online. Thanks in advance
-
Hello all, I need a webcam for mainly video calls for work, but also (hopefully) a bit of streaming. I searched a lot and it seems all recommendations are either crazy expensive or cheapest possible alibaba option. So, what would be considered a good webcam for under 100eur? I was looking at Logitech HD C310 for about 90eur as reviews seems ok, but would like to check other options. Thank you in advance.
