Logitech HD Webcam C270 LOGITECH's own website seems to be no help at all. They seem to only offer firmware and software for cameras bought recently. I've tried the Logitech HD Webcam C270 in VLC as a capture device and no image appears. Can someone tell me of other software that I can try to see if this Logitech HD Webcam C270 works? Or some troubleshooting, or just a clue? Thanks yaw

I just got this webcam a while back, but I was pleasantly surprised. THE PROS Camera quality is ok, but microphone quality is excellent. Compared to using a sound-bar as my microphone, this is a big step up. I haven’t downloaded the software for it yet, (if there is one) so there aren’t many features about it. I really can’t complain that much about this since I got it at a deal on Best Buy’s website at $39.99. THE CONS There are a few things that are kind of annoying. The camera gets pretty overexposed a lot, and its only 30FPS at 1080p. Frame-rate looks low on Google Meet, but on OBS with some enhancements, it looks better. Then again, I can’t complain because $40 for a webcam is cheap. CONCLUSION Overall, the webcam is not bad. If you need a “cheaper” webcam, I would probably recommend this for certain scenarios. Logitech C615 Webcam Rating: 7.8/10. Not bad, but could be better.

I am trying to use an iPhone 5s as a webcam for AprilTag - basically xbox kinnect using normal webcams and some printed tracking logos. I tried EpocCam, the version I can download on my phone is too old to be recognized by the versions of EpocCam I can download for my pc. I tried Camo, that has to be passed through to OBS, obs creates a virtual camera and I use that as the camera. That is not working because I can't get AprilTag to recognize the virtual camera, none of the input sources I tried worked. If you know of another way to run an iPhone 5s as a webcam or how to get AprilTag to detect my virtual camera please let me know, thank you!

Hi. I have a aukey pc lm1e wecam and I bought it around 3 months ago. I normally used streamlabs to fix colors or to make it look less plain. But not iv'e run into a totally different issue. A few days ago I tried having a video call on discord with a close friend but my camera would'nt show up and the only thhing i could see was "Streamlabs virtual webcam" and my old old microsoft webcam that wasn't even plugged in or close to my computer. So i tried everything. google the issue, reinstalling the drivers, checking the usb connection etc. But nothing worked, then when i checked hidden devices I saw the name of the camera as an audio source and I tried using the mic and sure enough it works fine. I then tried to plug it into my laptop and the webcam works without issue there. Running win 11 insider preview rtx 3060ti ryzen 7 5700g mb- B550-A PRO

I and most of the employees of the company I work for moved from our country after February 24th. One of my colleagues used to work exclusively on a desktop PC, so since we were all in a hurry to leave the country, she grabbed any laptop she saw in a nearby store so that she had something to work with. When the dust settled a little, we started working remotely, because the office (and helpdesk) where not here. And during our meetings, my colleague discovered that the webcam in her laptop was not working at all, so for 2.5 months after that she used her phone for video calls. It's annoying because she can't share her laptop screen. I happened to be in her city today and I am trying to solve this problem. Laptop in question is Asus K513E OLED. In the screenshot below, you can see Device Manager showing this camera, it reads "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". I uninstalled the webcam drivers and reinstall them from the official Asus support page for this laptop - didn't work. Then I did the same for the chipset driver (I assumed the main USB controller might be on the same die) - same result. I then "updated" the driver for the USB hub device (USB 3.0): "Update Drivers" -> "Search My Computer for Drivers" -> "Let me manually select from a list" -> I chose one option which was available and installed it. After that, for a short time (2-4 minutes), the “Unknown USB device” turned into a “usb2.0 hd uvc webcam”, was detected by zoom, and there was video feed coming from it. Then, after couple of minutes, everything reverted back to where I started. Google doesn't show anything related to this issue and this laptop. Colleague says that neither she nor anyone else has opened this laptop and the camera seems to work fine when properly detected so I don't think it's a cable issue (but I have a screwdriver so opening is possible ). So, is there anyone who has encountered a similar problem and solved it successfully?

Hey folks! Looking to upgrade my old Logitech C270 webcam as I need to record some training stuff and want to PnP myself in there too, as it seems to be the thing to do these days. What would be a good choice for this? Not looking to spend a fortune. Would the Logitech C922's camera +mike be sufficient or keep the C270 & get a Yeti Nano or Snowball? Ditch the C270 and get an HD Camera like the C922 + external mike? On the software side I could use OBS, content is in PowerPoint, Was going to do audio only and use a headset for audio, but might as well put my mug there. What I like about recording within PowerPoint is you can do slide-by-slide audio and if you need to re-do a slide, you don't need to re-do the whole thing. Anything similar out there other than Camtasia? Yes am new at this from a more "professional" perspective and will welcome your wisdom - many thanks!!

Hi all, I have a work laptop a HP Probook 430 G8 and a J5 Create 4k Webcam (Link below) When I plug the webcam in and use it on the camera app it works no issues as soon as I try and use it via Teams/Chrome or WhatsApp it doesn't work. I have spoke with IT who say nothing is wrong with the laptop but had a reply of "Conclusion after testing" that "I believe it is caused by the standard of USB port & available voltage." Is there any work around for this? I love the webcam vs built in as I do demos for clients and 4k camera is a dream to use! The webcam has USB and a little USB C adapter laptop has both tried both. Webcam works on my personal PC too. Just a note, when I start a call the camera shows up within the apps but so is behind fed the feed but then freezes. I thought of a voltage booster but then I'd run in to issues with the actual data being passed through? Webcam: https://en.j5create.com/collections/webcams/products/jvcu435

Is it possible to use an iPhone as a webcam for a Windows computer?

Hey guys, So I'm having an issue with my internal webcam on my laptop (Asus UX430UA). Basically whenever I use the windows camera app, skype or any other video service it just shows a black screen, also a white led turns on next to the webcam when using the apps possibly indicating the webcam is on? I tried googling and looking at other forums for months now and seems like no one has a straight answer and/or fix. I tried uninstalling the webcam driver " USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam" and reinstalling and that didn't work, tried looking for an updated driver via Asus driver downloads and there isn't one listed for my model and also made sure all Windows 10 privacy settings are not blocking the webcam from working and that still didn't work. Hopefully someone has a suggestion that I haven't tried yet, here are the details of the driver; Version: 10.0.18362.693, Date: 6/21/2006. Thanks in advance!

I'm a cheap college student and would like to use my Canon T3i that I already own as a webcam for Skype calls (yeah yeah I know Skype's a shit platform but I don't really have a choice and I already own the camera). There is another thread, DSLR Camera Software, that asked a similar question and the people commenting on that gave me the same info a quick google search would give me. I also don't want to use a hardware solution because it will take too long to be delivered and it costs money. So far I have tried: EOS Utility Tool - just a live previewer Canon Photo Professional - current version doesn't work with my camera (or I didn't get it to work) DigiCamControl - just a live previewer Sparkocam - Worked great but had a big ass watermark, and not one of those ignore-able water marks, like top middle of the screen all the way across water marks Is there any free software out there that isn't listed above that turns my Canon into a webcam?

Query Ok noticed with the isolation Vids, the webcam footage was particularly good, does anyone know what cams they are? The ones from FoldatHome server build particular. Or similar as needing good ones for streaming and recording high Res. Thanks.

Hi Like many people during this unusual time I've recently bought a webcam to keep in touch with people, both for work and maybe a virtual pint. I opted for a logitech brio stream 4k. This is something i would have never have bought in normal times, but fancied buying a needless gadget in uncertain times. I've installed logitech capture and have used skype and zoom (not sure about long term security of latter) and every source seems noisy and often soft. I've turned on every light in the house or made sure that i have as much natural light as possible but every image looks like a low grade phone. I've fiddled with every setting in capture and nothing seems to make that much of a difference. Now, I'm a hifi guy, spent way too much over the years on speakers, amps, fancy dancey cables etc, I know in the grand scheme of things £200 is nothing in the world of cameras: you'd probably pay that for a screw in some fancy gimble, but i'd expect as least as good an image as that from my iphone. Please will some of you lovely people give me some advice to get the best out of this piece of...?

Hi, Just wanting to know if anyone has tried or heard of creating a web camera overlay for their webcam showing like spofity or logos etc. Similiar to the way OBS software works for streaming and recording. Cheers.

I am looking for a webcam but I am really big on aesthetics and I don't like the current crop of bland, utilitarian webcam designs on the market. The Apple iSight camera is far too old and terrible in resolution to be a viable option but I am looking for a solution that has a similar minimalist design language. I happened to remember that Yves Behar designed a beautiful indoor security camera called the Hive View and my question to the community is as follows: "Is it possible to flash the Hive View Security Camera software and turn it into a webcam? Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I'm writing because I'm having a problem with my webcam. It's working in the Windows Camera software, and in my browser when I attend Jitsi video calls for instance. But it won't work when using Skype. I've made sure Skype is authorized to use my webcam in the Windows settings. The drivers are up-to-date. Windows is up-to-date. I've juste run the DirectX diagnostic software and no error was found. Could you please tell me what to do next?

I have a MacBook Pro (Early 2013) running macOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.6) and my webcam is malfunctioning. When I turn it on, regardless of the program (ie. Zoom, Skype, PhotoBooth, etc.), there are green/white/black/red lines distorting the image (here's what it looks like). The problem started after I downloaded the "GoPro Webcam" driver. I uninstalled it but that didn't fix it. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

was just looking at webcams for windows hello and noticed they are all really expensive so i was thinking it should be possible to use a laptop webcam that supports windows hello to get it on desktop. As laptop webcams use internal usb ports they are essentialy just normal webcams so if i solder a usb cable to one it should as far as i know just work. to get the webcam i would just buy one off of a spare parts site or buy a broken laptop with windows hello support, both options should be cheaper than buying a desktop windows hello cam. so now im just wondering does anyone know a reason why this wouldnt work or should i give it a shot. might also be worth a video from @LinusTech

I have a Logitech C920 that I want to use zoomed in, but whenever I use said webcam in something like skype or discord, the settings are all back to their default state. I configured the camera how I want in Logitech Ghub and previously LGS, but the issue seems to persist Is there a way to have webcam settings be persistent across all software that uses said webcam?

Hello everyone, We have a 3D Printing server running on windows to manage and send files to said printers. We have used a second PC running Ubuntu running MJPEG streamer to use as a webcam server to monitor the prints. We no longer have access to the second PC and have tried to run ubuntu as a VM on HyperV. We got Ubuntu working, but we don't know how to get access to the webcam plugging into the host PC to work. Thanks!

Good day to you all, I had a test exam today to see if our hardware/software is working. When the software attempted to connect to my webcam, it didn't find any. It seems that updating from windows 8.1 to windows 10 has made my webcam not be detected at all. Even in device manager. Here is the list of things i've tried: 1. Bios Update 2. Checking microphone (part of same logic board to my knowledge) works fine 3. Dell Updater, updated all of dell's required junk 4. Running Diagnostics by mashing F12 at startup (nothing relative to the webcam was found) 5. Installing archaic software that fixed the issue for people with XPS 15's 6. Show hidden devices in device manager. (nothing to be found) This is quite an issue for me, i have 2 weeks till my first exams. I'm really out of idea's. I need this to work. The Laptop is a Inspiron 15 5558 and i've used the webcam in the past so don't doubt that it has worked. Thanks in advance. (Edit: So far i've had great help, had a look in the bios and the camera is indeed enabled which rules that out. I've also checked all the function keys, none have a webcam indicator on it and i've manually tested every single one without result)

I'm having some issues with two of my webcams, a Microsoft Lifecam Studio and a Cinema model. When plugged in one at a time in the usb hub, the only resolution i can select in OBS is 160x120, but they work fine when plugged directly into a usb 2 or 3 port. Thinking it was a bandwidth issue (as it was an old powered usb2 hub) i picked up a powered 3.0 hub, to no avail. Same issue. Other peripherals such as the elgato stream deck works just fine. It's a test setup for moving my streaming pc to a 19" rack in a big closet. Is it a lifecam issue? Other option would be to route cables through the wall directly from the usb ports-
