I am planning on water cooling a 2080ti. Is it better to get a FE card and use a Heatkiller IV ( Or maybe a reference PCB Evga card) or should I get an Evga Hydro Copper 2080ti, or a FTW3 with an EKWB block? Would I get any improvements by going with an AIB or should I just stick to an FE card? I'm currently leaning towards getting an FE and I'll probably (or at least attempt to) overclock it higher. Also are there any warranty issues with taking a shroud off a FE card, if so then I'll probably go with a reference PCB Evga as I have heard that they have the best customer support and don't void warranties like that.

I am looking for a full cover waterblock for the gigabyte windforce RTX2070 non super, but have a limited budget so I have been looking for a used model. The only 'compatible' waterblock I have found is the Vector RE from EK that lists this card as compatible on their website. Since I am looking in the used market this really limits the options if this is the only cover that works. So..... I have started comparing my PCB to some of the PCB's of the Graphics cards for which I have been able to find used waterblocks. By what I can tell the PCB seems to match up part for part and hole for hole with the founders edition RTX2080. Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case? or would someone else take a look at the PCB's and see if you can spot a difference? Thanks

Hey guys! I have an EVGA RTX 2080 Super XC Ultra (model number 08G-P4-3183-KB) and I'm looking for a waterblock for it. I can't seem to find one - I can only one for the KR model (not KB, which I have). Do you guys know if they make a waterblock for this gpu? Thanks so much for your help! So after replacing my PSU which had bad corrosion on it due to humid summer know have a corsair PSU which has an extremely stable output. This has resulted in my chip which is the 7920x being able to go to 4.8ghz, the problem is even though it is water cooled and due to my crazy setup my loop temp is like 20c I can't keep the cpu cooled enough to run it at full load without starting to throttle. So because I only run it at full load for boinc I turned my TJMAX down to 90c so I can run my cpu at 4.8 but it'll throttle down when its an all core load like boinc. This works but just because I want it cooler I am trying to find how I can get it cooler? I'm already delided and liquid metal with artic silver 5 between the IHS and heat sink. I may just be at the max power the IHS can transfer, unless there is better than artic silver 5? It's odd too some cores run much hotter than others, only 2-3 out of 12 but still. I can't remember exactly what water block i have but it's EK and it's gold. Supremacy gold? Thanks for any advice!

waterblock for gpu Need help picking a waterblock
Mako1337 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello, I recently started building my first system, thought might be a fun project. However I am having troubles with finding a waterblock that fits my graphicscard. I have the MSI geforce RTX 2070 super 8gb ventus OC. I thought that all 2070 super cards were compatible with all 2070 super waterblocks, but I learned that it is not true. Since I bought the EK-FC RTX 2080 +Ti Classic RGB - Nickel + Plexi waterblock which has the Nvidia RTX 2070 super listed as compatible, but does not fit my card. I still want to watercool my gpu, but since I already wasted my money on a block that does not fit I'm hoping to get some advice to avoid repeating the same mistake. I have tried searching for a waterblock with my card on the compatible list but the closest I found was this: Barrow full coverage GPU Water Block for GAMING Z RTX2060 Aurora LRC2.0 RGB. Does anyone know a waterblock that fits my card? Thanks in advance. Kinds regards, Mako1337.- 10 replies

So... I have a msi 1070 ti gaming 8g. Looking for a water cooling block. I'm getting a bit confused with compatibility. Some say that 1080ti blocks are compatible with 1070ti but others say that they aren't. Hope someone here can help me with finding specific water blocks for it... It's all almost for aesthetic. Well... i will probably do some overclocking since i will have the headroom tho do it... But i'm just doing a full cooling in a large class case So everything will be visible (Thermaltake level 20 xt, yes, i know it'äs stupid large...) I should have everything for the build by Christmas so will post pics once i'm done... Thanks for all the help

Ok I need help as the title implies. I recently bought a Vega 56 Video card at a VERY good price and just couldn't pass it up, However I didn't take the time to make sure I could liquid cool it, or if there was a full copper block I could get for it. That being said I have looked high and low for a cooling block (Copper), And I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the heck I can do to cool this beast and bring down both the temps and the fan noise. Do you guys have any advice? any links to a full copper block? or know where I can get instructions on cooling this card with an AIO? The exact model is: Sapphire 11276-01-40G Radeon Nitro+ RX Vega 56 8GB HBM2 Dual HDMI/DP (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card and the link to it is: Amazon Link

Heyo there! I'm planning a rigid-tubed, fully hand-built, open-aired, inverted, insane-looking hard-line loop, because, well, why the Linus not? However, it seems while I did pick nicely priced, well-specked hardware with heavy bang, decent buck, and fair upgradability, it also seems i've picked all the sh*t EK, Phanteks and TT don't make blocks for. I've checked each site, and, if I can find anything, it's been almost all reference or Windforce only. See hardware; Gigabyte's Z370XP SLI mobo with a Gigabyte 1070 Ti (GV107TOC8G I believe was the product code, it's their GIGABYTE brand OC gaming card, no Windforce/G1/Aorus) Does anyone know of any brands I probably haven't checked, or of any companies, or of anyone at all, that makes or has done successful modifications to make waterblocks for these? I figgured if any big name had the cash to splurge on a 1070 Ti block it would be TT, but not even they touch it. Surely someone - GN? Jay?? - has had a look and gone, 'Oh, yeah look, these mounts here. Guess you can whack a 1080 block on this card, it just won't screw into that end bit there but the VRMs are fine'... I'm too attached to my little black-and-white themed board/8400/1070 Ti to trade them in for reference/bigger brand items, but if I want this project to, well, progress, it might end up being my only choice. Thanks all!

I'm wondering if I can buy these two water blocks for their respective cards and run them SLI. I have made 1 custom loop before and I have these GPUs laying around, but i have no clue if the tubing lines up. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1080-gtx-ti-aorus-rgb-nickel https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1080-gtx-ti-tf6-acetal-nickel thanks for any insight!

Hello, I'm looking for a water block which is compatible for the Zotac 1080 TI Amp! Edition (Not the extreme) I've done a lot of poking around online but can't seem to find an appropriate water block which will fit my card. Any help is appreciated - I've got all my liquid cooling gear ready and the waterblock for the card is the last step for me. Thanks!

So I'm looking to replace my PC thermal grease on my PC. And as part of the replacement, I plan to de-lid my CPU and use liquid metal on both my GPU and my CPU (directly on the die and on the IHS to the water block). And with my current config and as of my knowledge, my GPU water block is a EVGA hydrocopper water block and is made of nickle plated copper block, but my CPU block is a different story. My CPU water block was purchased from a cheap $200 liquid cooling kit that I bough in 2015 (Christmas) (here). And as far as I know about the CPU block, the brand on the top is made by "ice crown" and the cold plate is magnetic. From my understanding about liquid metal; Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, can corrode copper and aluminum. And as I know that both copper and aluminum are not magnetic and as previously mentioned, so whatever my CPU block is made of is beyond me. But my concern is that I may destroy my CPU water block and maybe my PC itself. So should I use another thermal grease, get another CPU block, or am I perfectly fine. (and if I should get a new CPU block, what are some ones that I could use liquid metal on)

I recently finished building my first watercooling build for my gpu and i see that it has this slight grime or this cloudy buildup on the inside of the plastic area. I was wondering if there is any way to clean this out. I also see some little fuzzy particles around the micro fins, is there any way to get those out of the system?

This is a little bit video card and a little liquid cooling related, not sure which forum location is best. I've seen loads of reviews/tests of 5700 XT's on gamersnexus for example and the limiting factor in best to worst there seemed to be cooling mostly? So question one. Does it matter which 5700 XT brand I buy if I plan to use a water block on it.? Question two.. Every motherloving VGA block manufacturer seems to only have blocks for reference blower design - none of these cards are for sale anymore!! Or they only have very specific models of cards that I cannot find for sale on newegg/amazon/anywhere. Does anyone know of a decent combo of video card + waterblock that can be purchased in Canada and of course not cost like $1000 for the block alone? I give zero poops about RGB or any of that frills, just want a basic block to keep the card cool. Also inb4 "buy a 2070 super instead" - just don't.

Hey Guys, I am planning to custom watercool my system and I just wanted to ask you guys what you think about those two "things": Alphacool Eisblock XPX Aurora, Digital RGB, Plexi Black https://www.lian-li.com/o11d-distro-plate-g1/ I am going to use the DP in the Lian Li O11D XL.

I was wandering if anybody know if the Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER windforce OC has a reference pcb or it is not changed by much becouse i wanted to cool that card with water and its much easier to find a reference block and i send an email to gigabyte support and they said it was a secret and they can`t tell me.

So I have a fully plumbed in and leak tested loop, and i need to swap a block within it due to my CPU block showing some degradation. If i were doing whole loop maintenance, I'd drain the loop, install the new block, put some Mayhems blitz part 2 around it for a while, then drain and add coolant. I'd like to avoid having to put cleaner around my entire loop, as it means my pc is out of commission for longer, and it also means i have to do a full drain instead of just making sure the block i want to swap out is empty. I have toyed with the idea of using a spare pump and rad (rad to act as fillport and res) to create a separate "cleaning loop" that i can use to put some Blitz part two through the tubing and block but then realized I didn't have the 6 spare fittings I'd need to do this, and they'd cost another £50 on top of what I've already spent, so I'm treating that as a last resort. So how can i prep the new block and accompanying new tubing so that it's ready to go into the loop without having to blitz the entire loop?

I have some questions regarding the maintenance I'm going to have to do soon, since I put the loop together more than a year ago so it's long overdue: I'm doing a block teardown, including the Z170S monoblock and the 1080Strix GPU block. What do I need to do the reassembly? Do I need to get O-rings? Do I need to get thermal pads? Can I reuse the EKWB compression fittings? How do I flush the radiators and clean the blocks? Its a copper/nickel loop. I'm planning on using the EKWB Monarch RAM modules without the actual watercooling part, just as a heatsink. I heard it's enough, I just wanted to make sure. I'll be posting the process since it's going to be a pretty spicy mod so expect a post in 2 weeks or so and many thanks in advance for taking time to respond to the questions!

I have a 1060 ASUS Dual with 6GB of VRAM. It has a custom PCB and I was having trouble finding a compatible waterblock. The only one was for a 1060 STRIX and this is not that variant. Does anyone know where I could get one and the rough cost?

I live in Texas and like to save money on AC by keeping it at 80° for 8 months out of the year. If I get a water block kit, will it even be able to work properly because of the higher average temp of the water? I was thinking of making that the front intake so the radiator would at least be getting the "coolest" air. I'm not doing overclocking or anything crazy either.
