When water cooling a video card, is there any difference between buying a reference card and a after market card with same 'layout' pcb. Usually after market cards with better coolers cost about $50 dollars more. But since we are water cooling, that is a mute point. Is the parts on the card (ie: power delivery, memory) help to OC the card better? Thanks,

Are there any more non reference 770 4gb cards that have a fullcover waterblock other than the PNY VCGGTX7704XPB-OC2? I want a non reference card as it is very hard to find reference cards here in my country, Malta, Europe and they are often overpriced. So, I'm gonna make my own rig and I'm going to use two Evga GTX titan black's. I want to water cool them and have all I need for the cycle except a waterblock and backplate. I have seen a few on the Internet but none seem to have any reviews so I was wondering if someone could give me a few links to some good ones.

Hi guys, first post on LTT I have a potentially dumb question but is there any chance this block will fit on the asus DCU2 GTX 780ti? Im asking because I'v already ordered it from amazon and I was looking over the parts im going to be ordering soon for my custom loop and realized i had selected a 780 block instead of a 780ti block. I'v used EK's compatibility thing to find a 780ti block and when I search what it recommends I only get 780 blocks. Im hoping this means they are interchangeable. If I need to the return the card well that sucks but oh well.

Hi I am just wanting to know if the EK FC R9 290X Original CSQ Full Cover Waterblock, is compatible with the EK FC Terminal DUAL Parallel GPU SLi / CrossFire Block. It is advertised on the waterblock page that is is compatible with the EK-FC terminal system, but on the terminal page it says that it is not compatible with the original CSQ design. If these are not compatible could someone suggest another method of connecting the 2 cards, when they are 2 slots apart. I was hoping to be able to use the EK-FC bridge and Link system but that is advertised as not compatible either. Fitted My EK waterblock, silence once again... EDIT & UPDATE After doing some more research I have discovered the R9-290X will throttle because when the VRM's get hot, so i changed the TIM to JP0P660 on the MEM & VRM's with some interesting results... Standard UBER Mode OLD TIM 2260 NEW TIM 2445 8.1 % Improvement OC Same Settings as before... OLD TIM 2455 NEW TIM 2539 3.4% Improvement UBER Mode Vs Overclocked Vs Stardard & now also EK TIM Vs JP-P600 & MX4 Standard Under Mode 1000MHz / 1250 MHz Same settings now with new JunPlus TIM JP-P600 1150MHz / 1425 MHz Same OC settings now with new JunPlus TIM JP-P600 However the good news is my rig is once again totally silent and still showing some awesome temps... The R9 290X is Idling at 29c And now maxing out at 39c slightly better than 95c LOL

For those that are shopping or are looking for information on waterblocks for a R9-290 non-x graphics card, I hope this info can be of some use. So in North America I have only seen waterblocks available from EK. (I'm sure every other brand will soon be on the market) Also these blocks say they are for the r9-290x, the make no claim or mention of compatibility for a 290 non-x card. After the reviews when live late Monday night for the 290 non-x, I was getting the feeling that this card shared the same design as its big brother, the 290x. In hearing the outstanding news of the price and performance of the 290 non-x, I made up my mind that a pair of 290 non-x's were about to become the successor of my 7970's. (Was also quite annoyed with inability to purchase 290x's, watched Newegg all week and always "out-of-stock") Tuesday morning I made my purchase of non-x 290's and decided to take a risk and gamble on a set of EK-FC R9-290X Clean CSQ Nickel Plexi blocks. My thinking is that 290x blocks are going to work on a reference 290 non-x card. Here is the outcome: In closing these blocks although not specified to work with a non-x 290, fit and work perfectly!!! They literally just drop on and then screw securely with no problems. Also for anyone interested in knowing, I bought the sapphire card due to claims that the Asus and Sapphire 290x's came with the better overclocking Hynix RAM modules. Well either that was a lie or the non-x cards don't get the same treatment. Mine have the claimed to be dumpy Elpida modules. I guess I'll know soon enough now that their under water and can really be pushed.

Hi guys! So I haven't been in the market for a graphics card in a while, so if theese questions have already been answered here, let me know (tried searching on the forum). 1. Would the 290x DCii waterblock, fit the a 290 DCii? (At least) EK makes a block, but I haven't been able to sort out if both cards have the same PCB layout etc. Read somewhere that the DCii cooler for 290x DCii, was recycled from the gtx 780, don't know if it's the same for the 290 non-x... 2. Found a good deal on 290 DCii, been used for mining a couple of months, hence the low price (cheaper than second hand 770 2gb)... Now the obvious risk of failure aside, has anyone actually heard of a graphics card dying as a result of mining? Every thread I've read has been the usual "BEWARE" of buying second hand mining cards, but so far I haven't found a single comment of a card actually dying, which made me sort of curious Thx in advance! :lol:

I am planning to water cool the entire build (each component, including the RAM, Southbridge and Northbridge of the Motherboard and GPUs). Since I've never done any water cooling before, or never have seen it in person, I have no experience with that process and honestly, I am extremely intimidated by it. I thought it would be better if I practiced with a simple, cheap water cooling build on my existing machine before working on the new build to gain some experience and understanding of how this process works. I read through all the guides I could to understand the basic understanding of how the loop is supposed to work, the radiators, reservoirs, pumps and water blocks. Trust me, I read a LOT, yet this topic scares the bejesus out of me. Here's a list of things that worry me and stop me from buying the components: 1. Where and HOW do I mount my reservoir, without having to mod my Corsair 650D case (I don't have any tools like a dremel to mod my case) 2. What kind of tubing and fittings do I need to get and how do I make sure that they match with the other water cooling components? 3. Which radiator(s) should I look to get that will be sufficient for my CPU, and 2 GPUs in SLi? 4. As I am practising, I want to get my hands-on working with lighting up the case and watercooling components to make it look pretty, so I understand how to work with the aesthetics of the new build as well. Where would you guys suggest I start for that? Right now, as I type this my legs are twitching with excitement and anxiety of going through with this. My 780 is a GV-N780OC-3GD windforce edition and I cant seem to find a compatible waterblock with this version.

Hello all, I'm having issues finding a backplate, and waterblock for my EVGA 780 Classifieds. I can find some of the EVGA backplates, but not the waterblocks, and I can find the EK Waterblocks, but not the backplates... Can anyone assist?

So a client wants an EK Supremacy Elite block for his 1150 socket, but he doesn't want to pay the taxes or overseas shipping to get it and the Indigo XS TIM which would come bundled with it. Frozencpu.com (my usual source of water cooling purchases) sells only the socket 2011 edition. These blocks fit in all Intel 115x sockets as well as 2011, but the difference is the TIM which is sent. The 2011 edition comes with Indigo Extreme shaped to reflow on the much larger heatspreader of the 2011 chips. The 115x edition comes with Indigo XS designed to reflow on the smaller heat spreader of 115x chips. Does anyone know a U.S.-based supplier who sells EKWB blocks?

I was wondering if anyone could give me a good setup that's not to costly 300-500max with the ability to hook up 2 cards to for a fullcover waterblock for the evga 780ti kingpin
