  1. How insane is this? The monitor I purchased is in my account's order history with all its details available. Yet I have to go through this interrogation for even the most basic warranty support. "Good Day, Kindly reply to the email with these documents below : i)Picture at the back of the monitor with the serial number ii)on a white paper please write in your name, today's date and the case number that I have emailed you. iii)Picture of the invoice that you have purchased the monitor from Dell. iv)Together with your address details. v)Full view picture of the monitor. Thank you for choosing Dell."
  2. Given the amount of controversy that the LTT Backpack "Trust me bro" Warranty generated, I figured I would give a real world example and review of warrantying the LTT Backpack. Spoiler alert, it was seamless. My girlfriend purchased an LTT Backpack 6 months ago and used it daily fully loaded with a laptop, second screen, cables (in a LTT Tech Sack), tons of paperwork, and other business supplies. The bag still looks practically new after 6 months of use. A few weeks ago the main compartment zipper started to separate. To be clear, this was a failure of the YKK zipper itself, and not a failure of the LTT backpack or its construction. All of the stitching that attaches the zipper to the bag is perfectly intact. We emailed LTT Support with detailed pictures on a Saturday and received a response offering a no-charge replacement the following evening, on a Sunday. About a week later a new bag showed up in the mail. Overall absolutely stellar customer support, as usual, from LTT staff.
  3. hey guys im looking for some info about this specific psu warranty policy, meanwhile i found nothing. any official source about this one? how long the warranty? and how can i register. ty so much
  4. I ordered the original Lian Li Unifan when I finally found them in stock after they launched. Now two of them are having significant degradation in the RGB. I have them set to a Static Blue. One of the fans has multiple nodes that have failed so there is gaps in the RGB. They other will flicker or rapidly flash between red and blue. I submitted a warranty claim including a video of the issue. It's been two weeks and I have only received the initial response that my warranty claim was received. This is apparently a known issue with the fans. Has anyone else had long delays working with Lian Li warranties? I'm at a loss of what to do if they don't respond.
  5. It is a Seagate BUP Slim 2 TB Drive that I would like to run a bridge bot and a Minecraft Server on along with system backups on it. It is still under warranty should I get it replaced? Basically asking that will they replace it or will they say that the drive is still fine and this is normal for a drive and charge me for getting the drive shipped back?
  6. In a month, i'l be visiting New York, and i'm currently searching for a laptop to buy over there, because the price are much better there than in France, and I want a qwerty keyboard. My main concern is the warranty, since ig NewEgg 30 day warranty will be useless for me, would the Manufacture warranty work? I know that as a EU citizen, their is a mandatory warranty from the manufacture, but since I will buy it from the US, will it still apply? If it might help, this is what I have my eyes on https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000E-18JW9
  7. -======I have a Gygabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC graphics card I bought in october 2020, I used to play games a lot on my gaming pc but after i left home for college, I only get to play on weekends. This january I was away for a month and when I got home I played games on my PC just fine, the next day I woke up to find my pc not beign able to boot. I could hear a clicking sound from my PSU, only after I disconnected the power conectors from my GPU could I get my pc to boot. I took the gpu to the store where i bought it and they said it was burned, I was able to claim the warranty and they fixed my gpu. I dont think they gave me a new unit, they just fixed what ever was broken but I am not sure whether I was given a new unit. Anyway, fast forward a few months and I find my self in the exact same position, Used the PC after about a month of non use and the GPU burned on the next day morning. I have 2 months left on the warranty I maybe able to claim it. I am not sure what is causing this to happen. Is it because I didn't use it for a month? I heard that not using electronic devices can lead them to burn when turned on? Could It be my PSU, it is a 750 W gold one, or could It just be a problem with a graphics card and when they fixed it the first time they didn't properly remove the cause for the issue? I can only claim the warranty one more time and I can't afford another GPU I can't be in this situation again, what can I do?
  8. When I tried to honor my warranty on my 3060 ti which broke after 5 months. When I went on their support page all they said was they only provide support for the distributors but the place I got the card from is gainward. Is there anything I can do to help.
  9. Hello, I recently attempted to get an RMA on my ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) because it would not boot. When power was turned on, nothing would light up. The power supply, CPU, and RAM all worked on a different motherboard so I completed the RMA request on June 7, 2023 and shipped it on June 9, 2023. Beside the stupid fact that I have to pay shipping on ASUS's product that no longer works but that is a different conversation. My RMA warranty was declined on the account of the first picture provided. This seems like a wildly outrageous reason to deny a total motherboard failure for scratches that are at the end of the PCIE slot (second picture). Along with the denial of warranty from ASUS, they also provided a bill if I were to proceed with their "repair" quoted to $314.58 USD. Does anyone have any insight onto why that bill would be so high if a new one costs $210 new on Newegg with the addition of ASUS adding a labor fee and a shipping fee for an 50% upcharge of my own product back to me for a reason that has nothing to do with why the motherboard won't turn on. Any info is appreciated!
  10. So about two and a half years ago I decided to build a new system. Initially I went with an ASUS X570 Motherboard, But it arrived with dead DRAM slots so I returned it. I ended up buying a GIGABYTE AORUS X570 ELITE WIFI since it was the only motherboard that met my requirements that was in my price range that wasn't ASUS. For my system I ended up using a 850 watt PSU and got a new monitor, both GIGABYTE products. The monitor developed a dead pixel after just two months. And better yet the PSU ended up being one of the models with no over current protection that was a fire hazard, so I turned that in with the recall and got my money back. now a few years later my computer stared only reading half as much RAM as I had installed. After doing some testing it turned out that my B1 and B2 DRAM slots were no longer reading so I decided to RMA my motherboard. Upon taking it apart, aside from being a little dusty, it was fine however some of my thermal compound had gotten on the PCB next to the CPU socket. So I decided to clean it off with some isopropyl alcohol. After it dried there were some splotches on my Motherboard around where the thermal compound was as it had dissolved into the alcohol and splattered around a bit in the cleaning process. I thought it was no big deal since I know thermal compound is non-conductive. So I shipped my motherboard off to GIGABYTE. THEY RESPNDED TO ME BY SAYING THAT MY MOTHERBOARD HAD LIQUID DAMAGE AND WAS CORRODED. And they provided these BS photos as "proof". You guys tell me if any of these photos show corrosion. Even though I explained to them on the phone that it is from alcohol and thermal compound they are still refusing to honor the warranty and admitted that they did not even try to power it on. Never buy from GIGABYTE, they would sell you tainted meat if they could. *edit* Thanks for the responses, I didn't even think I would get any. Please spread the word that GIGABYTE is up to their devious ways yet again, no one should buy their products for the sake of their wallets and their safety. I would love some advice on what brands people have had good experiences with as I am planning on getting a new GPU soon. Also If anyone knows a good person or a company that does motherboard repair and won't BS me LMK. Also seriously does anyone see corrosion in these pictures? what a load of Horses--t!
  11. Summary The Surface Pro X is long past its warranty expiration, but as one of Microsoft's flagship Arm devices, this is kind of a black eye for them. Quotes My thoughts Whether it's a certificate that expired or something more complicated, I don't think Microsoft is intentionally disabling their devices. But this definitely makes me a lot more wary about using anything from them. Sources https://www.theverge.com/2023/5/24/23735639/microsoft-surface-pro-x-camera-not-working-error-fix https://www.reddit.com/r/surfaceprox/comments/13pv18w/camera_stopped_working_today_may_23rd_2023 https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/all/cameras-are-not-working-on-my-surface-pro-x-device/42617ab5-55b0-4fc3-a2b8-65e89f40cbb1
  12. Hey all, a friend of mine is coming from US to India. Any advise on which laptop should I ask him to buy for me? (I couldn't find one with international warranty on best buy)
  13. Any thoughts or opinions on buying Open Box GPU's from Best Buy? Been seeing some Open Box (Shippable/Excellent Condition) 4080's & 4090's being listed for about 20% off. Most recently Gigabyte Gaming OC 4080. How does the warranty work in those cases? Do you still get the full manufacturer warranty? Anyone ever bought open box? Saving $200 sounds great but also terrifying if something is wrong with it. Open-Box Excellent – Certified Select product categories are eligible for certification. 14. I am a guy that lives in India presently 20. I love to tinker with electronics so I always wanted to replace my ram and/or SSD or HDD myself without going to a service center and waiting for the shit to get done which could literally take a day+. It's so bloody annoying and honestly I want to right profanity but idk if that's against Guidelines so I will limit it to just my annoying. I understand there are alot of third party reservicers but come on let me fix my own laptop.
  15. I just wanted to get this out there, I thought here was good. I emailed EVGA about replacing the fan in one of their PSU's I have. A fan should be the simplest thing to change, right? They obviously didn't want me do that and that I had to pay the upwards of $16 to ship it from MI to CA, it's a 5lb box. To get an RMA done because of the $1 to $2 fan they used. Well after some research, neweggs product page, I found out it's just a 120mm fan, ok, I have 2 of those laying around. So, I swapped the fan myself. LTT Screwdriver, lttstore.com. It works great and no more noise. It sounded horrible this morning. Noting the replacement fan is less amps than the bad one, if anyone was concerned. In a message from EVGA they said: "Hello Thanks for reaching back out. This is simply because there is a OEM manufacturer of the PSU itself that requires us to process this for warranty with that specific OEM and since the item was opened it unfortunately is no longer under warranty so if the device suffers some type of failure such as not posting we will not be able to replace it. Regards EVGA" In another message they said "Unfortunately, this product is still out of warranty as you had broken the seal rendering it out of warranty." Honestly I saved myself $16ish in shipping, EVGA $16ish in return shipping and saved them to pay a tech, who knows how much, to change a fan. Also it's a security PC, it runs 24/7, very important pc. I know they say, not to open PSUs, "there are no serviceable parts and risk of shock" but the fan is changeable and I touched nothing but the fan and its plug. There was only 677 days left in the warranty so it not that big of a deal if it's not covered. Plus if it does die, Amazon PSU next day, get that security PC working. It's just sad to see, I'm saving the company money and they will no longer honor the warranty if something serious actually fails.
  16. I. AM. LIVID. And the only way I can let out my frustration is by making an account here on the forums I've been lurking and making a post complaining about my problems. TLDR: If you buy an Asus mother board online or from a PC Shop, make sure the serial number is in your country. Cause if it's not fuck you and your warranty. Understand I'm "prosumer" type, on my pc I spend 90% of the time working on it (lotta 3D), and the rest of the time playing PC games. Unless it's a huge release like Elden Ring... hoo boi that was a month and a half... I justify spending all this money cause it helps me work and not be stuck with a PC processing all day or other bs that makes me groan, sad, and go lay down. Like 6 months ago or something I bought an Asus Pro Art x570 Creator Wi-Fi, at the time a $650 mother fuckin board. See I'm coming off a ROG B450-F Gaming, that thankfully had a bios update to support my current CPU a Ryzen 7 5800X. Shit worked great besides the fact the 64GB of ram on the system did not work when the XMP profile was enabled. I think it was just too much for old faithful. It was a good ass mobo, it served me well, I even have plans for it. I've been a long time ASUS customer generally happy, except for that old 7 inch windows tablet that was kind of shit in a way it had no business being and ruined an otherwise great little device. So I figured, fine, I can afford it. My work has been going well, we're at the end of a PC generation heading to the next. I wanna be content tho and not need to build a whole new system for a while. I want PCIE gen4 so I don't need to worry about matching PS5 read speeds if that becomes a thing. I want my 64GB of ram to just work. NVME has gotten cheaper, so I want enough storage to do whatever I need to do (I make games, NVME has been AWESOME), plus again gen 4 speeds. I don't wanna buy a whole new system right now, but I have needs. If I need an upgrade, Ryzen 9 will probably be cheap soon enough. It will be a good ass system for a good while. I also have a dying NVME drive thats only a year old THANKS ADATA YOU SHIT, NEVER AGAIN! BUT! I'm busy... I got shit I'm working on and goals to meet. I don't want to be fuckin around with data transfers and shit I hate data transfers. I know how to build a PC done it plenty, but I'm not willing to spend the time. So, I say fuck it, there's a local computer shop I go to sometimes, they seem to know their shit. Ok, I ask them to order the parts for me and install it, data transfer and all. Ehhh problems started early. Parts took a while to come in they said the mobo had to come from over seas. I kind of expected this somewhat, but also amazon had the mobo but they had a supplier so whatever. Install didn't take too long couple days working with my laptop. Then data transfer didn't take windows is fucked, ok fine at least I can recover my files and reinstall windows. Lose a day reinstalling shit and copying config files. Good news, 64bit with XMP works great! Improved game performance, nice. NVME Gen 4 speeds awesome, 40GB unity project fresh import 30 minutes, nice never fear a reimport taking multiple hours again. Then the problems start, playing cities skylines and suddenly my whole PC hard crashes and speakers making buzzing sounds. What the fuck. I think initially it's a fluke or some kind of driver issue. PC struggles to reboot, that's weird for a driver issue. So it happens again later I do display driver cleaner and reinstall, shit keeps happening. There's no blue screen, so eventually I assume something else is the problem. It only happens in cities skylines which can be admittedly intense for sustained periods. I start checking temps, and I see "something" is over 100C? I forget what i checked, but eventually I saw it was "Chipset", that seems like one of those things you never really need to pay attention to. After it happens again, and after struggling to not only boot the PC but even stop it from CRASHING IN THE BIOS. Shit was scary. Eventually letting the PC stay powered off for a while let me boot it. Eventually I see it IN THE FUCKING BIOS THE CHIPSET TEMP IS TICKING UP. I google around no real answers. Eventually I call the PC shop, assuming maybe they installed something wrong like a thermal pad since apparently Chipset is next to one of the NVME slots that's has a cover. They take it in, test it for days, they can see the crashes and see the chipset temp crawling up in bios. But according to them the area of the chipset is not melting like the 100C+ reading says it should be. They conclude the reading is wrong, they turn off the monitoring, stress test it no issues no melting, no crashing. I ask if I should just RMA it, and they say you only get one RMA with the warranty in their experience with ASUS and if the problem is technically fixed it's better to use that for a bigger problem it's a 3 year warranty after all. I think it over, fine I'll try it for a little while if it's stable ok it's not the worst. Months go by, and I'm having this other issue. Something weird with audio latency causing popping and shit. Extremely frustrating cause listening to music while I work and every time I hear a pop it snaps me out of it. I spend some time diagnosing and googling, there's VERY scattered info on what the fuck this even is. Some kind of driver issue, I dunno I do all kinds of shit I don't consider risky changes. Eventually I conclude this shouldn't be happening under normal circumstances and the nvidia driver seems to be related. I dig then I discover something, resizable bar isn't enabled... what the fuck? NOW WE GET INTO THE SHIT. I go into bios, turn it on (Auto, for some reason but whatever) doesn't work. Check online, triple check what needs to be enabled, no dice. GPU-Z confirms everything is enabled but the bio's does not have resizable bar on. Fuck. All this hardware, a goddamned 3090 (from fuckin Zotac) isn't being used to it's potential. I spent too much money ($1700 on the 3090 in early 2020) on this goddamned shit for it to not have all it's shit. I'm pretty sure it worked before on my old mobo, I know I checked and probably just saw it on then stopped looking at it like it should be. Ok fine, maybe it's a bios issue. No bios update available. Only option is customer support. Now I'm gonna summarize the support shit. Understand, I am a very very patient person and as long as I can do my goddamned job I can just deal. I understand these people are just doing their job, I've been there I don't wanna give them too much shit. But it's been 2+ MONTHS, and I have not gotten any real support on fixing this fucking problem. And I'm not even 100% sure it's their fault. Maybe it's partly AT&T's fault, I dunno. I got the same mother fucking email explaining the basic shit to enable resizable bar like 3 times. I sent them every possible amount of info they could possibly need about my PC, pictures, docs, exports, whole kit and kaboodle. They escalated my issue in November, and I've just been WAITING anything substantial and not more basic shit, I email them or chat with them multiple times to see progress. I dunno if they need to asses the info or what, eventually they realize the issue has gone on too long and I guess they escalate it again. Now I'm supposed to get a call. Ok, call never comes I contact them multiple times they keep confirming my info no call. Fuck it must be holidays, January comes I contact them again about my call. Dudes like super understanding, they kind of all have been I don't hate these people really. Sets up a call says he'll monitor it, says it should come soon, ok. 20 minutes later I SEE A VOICE MAIL. For some goddamned fucking reason their phone calls to me GO STRAIGHT TO VOICE MAIL MY GOD FUCKING WHY. I dunno whose fault this is but fuck you. Maybe it's indian scam call centers who fuck up every goddamned number in existence trying to find old people to scam. Whatever reason I can't get this goddamned call. More days go by, I call support instead of chat, bad idea these people are AWEFUL on the phone. I try to explain I can't get a fucking phone call and the lady sets up a phone all anyway. More days NOTHING. THEN! I discover there's been a bios update released. No one told me. What else am I gonna do? I update it, nothing changes FUCK. I think my music stopped popping though so that's something... I contact them again, this time i realize i should give them my housemates phone number. STILL NOTHING. GODDAMN IT. Fuck it I focus on work for a while hit a milestone, been working my ass off. I need a day to take a break, play some PC games for the day and chill, play Octopath Traveller until I beat a boss (that shit with forced HDR on is gorgeous), Then play need for speed Heat cause i need a fix. Start playing ONE race, hard crash, speaking making buzzing sound, no blue screen. >:| Ok fine, bios update reenabled the thing that senses the Chipset temp, go in bios (after struggling to get the PC to even boot) and turn off monitoring the temp on chipset. Ok... back to Need for Speed...happens again... >:| Realize I wasn't the one who toggled the setting before and I actually have no idea if the monitoring setting in the bios is what they did... Actually FUCK THIS. FUCK ALL OF THIS. Contact support again, I'm typing angry, I give them my reference number they can see I've been dealing with this for months so at the very least they know my obvious frustration did not come without patience. I even explain it to be sure. I tell them if I can't get a damn phone call, and I can't call them, should I just RMA the shit? And then I immediately get the bomb. WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THIS BULLSHIT? What am I supposed to do with this information? I'm in the US not Europe, THAT IS INSANE. And it's one thing if it's like "Oh it's gonna have to go to a repair shop in europe" or some shit, they can't help me AT ALL. So, at this point I'm pretty sure my fuckin warranty is useless and I have a goddamned $600 paper weight. Tomorrow I'm calling the PC shop to find out what they fuck they were thinking ordering from wherever the fuck they ordered from, and if there's ANYTHING they can do with this shit. And despite ALL THIS BULLSHIT, I'm buying another of the same fuckin motherboard from amazon. And my god if I have the same problems I'm DONE with ASUS. The only reason I'm buying the same shit is one the price dropped, and two I want to minimize the amount of configuration and learning I need to do so I can just forget about all this shit. Moral of the story is, know where your serial numbers come from. >:/ I have calmed down, I will watch movies...
  17. Okay so, here is the problem i want a pc my mother is okay with that I want to build my own pc my mom is scared i mess up and break something but if something breaks i can just bring the custom pc to a computershop and let it be repaired right? And if i order parts they have a warranty right?
  18. I'm mostly here to vent about LG's crap support and crap limited warranty. I bought the LG Tone Free Fp9 last year in December after I saw the LTT review video. I've enjoyed it for the most part but this past month has been really unfortunate. The right-side Bluetooth headset case split open and when I called the LG support number, they said it was "cosmetic" damage and NOT covered under the warranty. I wear it daily to listen to music and podcast and I think the adhesive just failed to adhere. I ended up super glueing the case halves shut and clamping it overnight. Next up, a few weeks later, I go to charge the charging case with my usually Samsung Note20 charging cable and then when I go to unplug it, the plastic piece that holds the connector wires on the female jack strips out and gets stuck in the male cable. The connector wires are still visible inside the female side of the charging case. I called support and they once again, said that this was physical damage and NOT covered under warranty. I've had tons of type c devices and nothing like the 2nd incident has ever happened. LTT folks, anyone ever have issues like this with their type c devices or also hate LG support?
  19. I have a Logitech pro wireless mouse that I purchased within the last 2 years (can't remember where from, but it was brand new online from popular retailer and also quite pricy for a mouse). I don't have the original box and I can't remember if I registered it for warranty as I know you have to do this for some electronics. Recently the last 2 months, the right-click has started double clicking really fast twice every 1 of 3 clicks. The left click has also started to bug now as well. I have tried 'blowing' really hard underneath the button as apparently this fixes the known issue with this mouse. - It did fix it, but only works for 5 minutes and the issue happens again. I try to keep all my peripherals clean so dirt isn't an issue. I do also have an old Logitech G502 but that has also started playing up in the last few months as well lol. So... do peeps on here think I have any chance at making a successful warranty claim? I would rather ask here than go through the long process of submitting a ticket speaking with CS etc etc and then being declined. Or, should I just buy a new mouse? - (Feel free to suggest RELIABLE low-lag wireless mice that will last for at least 3 years. No budget. - I am thinking of getting a wireless Razer mouse, as I have a Razer keyboard that has lasted me since I first got it with no problems, other than their shitty Synapse software.)
  20. I am looking to buy a used Gigabyte RTX 3060 for 20000 INR ($245) which is a pretty sweet deal in India right now. The card is seven months old and was used for mining throughout the duration of the period. The reseller has the original receipt for it but not the box. So, it still has over 2 years of warranty period left. If something happens to the card after I buy it, would Gigabyte still cover the repair under the warranty or say that the warranty has been voided due to mining? Please help.
  21. Gday, I'm curious if anyone has tried a warranty claim on a gigabyte monitor for ghosting. I have a FV43U and the ghosting on it is so bad some games become unplayable and when scrolling in word documents it becomes disorientating to look at. It seems to be a common issue of the monitor. I'm thinking about to replace it with a Odessey Neo G8 or G7 any recomendations for HDR 4k monitors will be welcome. Cheers in advance
  22. I bought an XG17AHPE portable monitor, it was great while it lasted, but one night it just refused to charge or power on anymore. I got my repair going and everything, but it seems like the repair tech is trained to look for reasons to deny a warranty. Lucky for me I posted pictures of the monitor the day I got it, and there were already 2 little dents on the speaker grill on both sides of it seen here: They are claiming Consumer Incurred Damage (CID) as a reason to deny the repair and are trying to charge me $160 for the repair of the dents as far as I can tell as power/charging isn't listed anywhere in the invoice they sent. It seems to me they are trying to find reasons to make more money and deny repairs for unrelated issues. It would be like if a fan hub in a case died, but they wanted to charge you to repair a slightly damaged front panel instead. Going to chat with them tomorrow, but has anyone else experienced terrible warranty repair service from ASUS?
  23. Hey guys, girls, and other human creatures, My latest explosion, my ASUS MB prime 570 had some problems with the VRM's I think. ASUS say that this is beyond warranty (3 years and i bought it in March last year) For me it is electronics gone bad, everything is covered in acid. The MB had not al lot of stress and was not overclocked. Anyone an idee? In the second picture you see the stuff under the heatsink/ Greetz, MRHidden
  24. Valve pretty much says you will void your warranty if you open the device up, but FTC law says it's okay to open devices you have purchased. Is this illegal or you think they would honor a warrenty repair if you add an SSD then later your screen backlight dies.
  25. So if you are in the market for a gaming laptop and are in the UK. I strongly advise against HP at this point I have just spent 2 hours arguing with them about repairs. Here's the situation. I bought a hp omen 15 on 21st of June 2021 from amazon warehouse so I knew it had been owned previously. The warranty Is still valid for another 16 days as far as the website can tell. I opened up the laptop yesterday in order to add a second ssd and upgrade the ram when I noticed to my surprise that the ribbon cable that connects the secondary ssd or hdd is not there. So I search my box and its not there either. So I contact hp in the hopes that I can buy the part I wasn't even asking them for it I just wanted to buy the part. Only to find out that in the UK they do not supply parts and on top of that by opening the bottom of the laptop I have voided my warranty. The only resolution is for me to send it to them for "repair" which will take 8 to 12 days. So I'm not happy about this and I ask them how much is that going to cost me. For a 2 min repair to install something that should have been there from the start. The only option they have is to start a repair and I would then get a call in 2 to 3 days where we can talk about price. So if you are at all an enthusiast and plan on upgrading your pc in the future don't buy hp because they do not support you.
