Walt Disney Imagineering and Epic Games are using the Unreal Engine to develop the new Millennium Falcon ride for Star Wars Land. "When the new Milennium Falcon attraction launches, riders will enter a cockpit powered with a single BOXX chassis packed with eight high-end NVIDIA Quadro P6000 GPUs, connected via Quadro SLI. Quadro Sync synchronizes five projectors for the creation of dazzling ultra-high resolution, perfectly timed displays to fully immerse the riders in the world of planet Batuu." https://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2018/03/walt-disney-imagineering-partners-with.html

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm watching this weeks Wan show on YT and just tried the URL for PIA, and it s down (http://privateinternet.com/PAGES/LINUS-TECH-TIPS) does anyone have an updated link? Their home page seems to be https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/, but i don't see any way to access an LTT link.

UPDATE: LinusTech Twitch channel is now back online. Suspension only lasted a period of 24 hours. LinusTechTips Twitch channel (twitch.tv/linustech) has been temporarily removed from Twitch after the channel received a DMCA (Digital Milennium Copyright Act) violation notice. The suspension is expected to last for a period of 24 hours, starting 30/4/2018. Currently the LinusTechTips channel is not being displayed to followers in their "followed channel" panel. Attempting to navigate to the page directly presents an error message stating that you are unable to access that content. Features such as previously recorded videos being hosted and displayed on the channel are also currently inaccessible to followers. Linus Sebastian has stated that he is unaware as to what content received the DCMA notice and he is unable to investigate while his account is suspended I can't imagine what it was that LinusTechTips has done to receive the DMCA violation. The LinusTechTips twitch channel solely hosts the weekly WAN show. Their show is original and from what I've seen doesn't contain any copyrighted material that does not belong to LMG. It seems extremely strange that Twitch would move to ban such a prominent partnered(?) channel without as much as a warning or clear explanation. Hopefully the suspension is only for the 24 hour period and we don't see any disruptions to the weekly WAN show. The WAN show has been hosted on twitch for a long time, but perhaps after this move by Twitch we could see it being moved to being hosted live directly on Youtube, or perhaps live on Floatplane (when functional enough to allow it) and then later uploaded to youtube as a recording. Update: Appears Linus has been able to make contact with some Twitch representatives on the issue. Hopefully this is a step towards the suspension being lifted. (Thanks to @Skiiwee29 & @VegetableStu) Update: The LinusTech Twitch channel is now back online. You can now browse pre-recorded video clips from old WAN show episodes and the channel should now show up in your followed channels list again. The suspension only lasted a period of 24 hours which was expected. No word yet on the cause for the suspension. I'll try and update the thread if/when there is some mainstream news articles available on the topic If you find any news articles you would like me to list in the main post or see any updates from LTT on Twitter (I don't have twitter account so I don't get updates), post them in the thread and tag me with @Spotty and I'll look at adding them in.

During the last WAN show, Luke and Linus were discussing the Nvidia partner program and Luke casually mentioned that he had misgivings about the Geforce Experience app and as such doesn't install it. I'm curious if he's addressed the reasons in another video, and if so which one... Or if someone knows his reasons. I stopped using it myself because I don't use the game overlay and I can't be bothered with the required sign in.

The latest WANk show finally drew me in because of Sony topic; I'm new so lube. I bought and used several of the latest highest end phones, none met every check for life longevity. I returned each and every one, except Sony. Here's why it will last longer than any other: Latest processor Lower resolution (easier to compute) IPS screen (No burn in) IP65/68 & Gorilla 5 Bonuses: Front facing stereo speakers (personal must) Hole (of recent discussion on WANk show) To my knowledge there are currently only a dozen models with Snapdragon 835 and IPx8, but when you add IPS or 720P/1080P, all you find is Sony. Also, to my knowledge, all OLED's burn in over time; some worse than others but nonetheless, yuck. Yeah nothing's future-proof, that's why I clarified, "best". I'm increasingly displeased with the phone market every encounter. Holding out for a better phone seems to be a never ending process. XZ1, $500, Okay. take my money

Original article: https://techcrunch.com/2018/05/20/after-tens-of-thousands-of-pre-orders-high-end-3d-headphones-startup-ossic-disappears/ After a successfull Kickstarter Raising $5.9 million and Tens of thousands of Pre-Orders for their much looked forward to "3D Sound" Headphones, Have announced on the weekend that they will be shutting down the company and all Kick Starter Backers Will NOT recieve a refund Tech Crunch Reported "The company raised $2.7 million on Kickstarter and $3.2 million on Indiegogo for their Ossic X headphones which they pitched as a pair of high-end head-tracking headphones that would be perfect for listening to 3D audio, especially in a VR environment. While the company also raised a “substantial seed investment,” in a letter on the Ossic website the company blamed the slow adoption of virtual reality alongside their crowdfunding campaign stretch goals which bogged down their R&D team." I really Hope they rethink what they are doing with the no refunds as it is complete BS that all thoose people who have put $1000 in each will loose it all even if they could do a 50% refund would be better then nothing.

A while ago Linus and Luke were talking on the WAN show and Linus said something like "The problem with bitcoin is trying to figure out what you're gonna do with your $10,000, now what are you going to do with your $8,000" or something like that. Does anyone happen to remember which one that was? I'm trying to detail to a couple of people what it's like being involved in the cryptocurrency community and being in the market and I would really like to send them a clip of that, because the delivery is perfect and it's definitely super accurate.

TL;DR read the title A few months ago I had a random bluescreen on my daily-driver PC and went to source the issue. In the search I ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic tool and found out that I have an engineering sample Q6600 that was not likely meant for resale. (It was just a bad stick of RAM, the processor passed every test but BrandString) Fast-forward to yesterdays WAN show.. I just finished watching it an noticed he mentioned a Q6600 engineering sample that he bought for his boss at NCIX. Living in Canada myself I went to check where I bought it on eBay, I remember it being ~$20 and located in Canada to save on customs fees and import taxes. Surely enough I bought it from an old NCIX reselling page and I'm 99% positive I have the sample that Linus' mentioned on the WAN show... Timestamp is 39:03 where he talks about it. and here's a screenshot of the eBay info and the Fail on the BrandString test, the eBay profile has long been deleted so this was all I could dig up of the transaction. The processor is reaching 11 years old very soon. I guess I should upgrade. I do work minimum wage so it'll take time before I can send this to Linus for shits n' giggles. This just proves how small of a world we live in.

First time poster, but long time watcher of LTT. I was watching the Wan show a couple weeks ago (Before Christmas actually) and had a funny thought before it started. Wan Show BIngo! There's enough quirky stuff to go around on this show to fill a bingo sheet. http://wanshowbingo.com There's not much meat on it's bones. Other than some basic web socket stuff behind the scenes, you can see everything that is happening up front. I'll gladdly take any suggestions. Short term todo list: Winner Announcement / Detection - If the majority of players with a square have it checked, then it's a good square. Twitch Bot to announce winners. Twitch Integration - Login to track stats. GitHub Repo Here: https://github.com/OSTycoon/WanShowBingo Right now I'm only opening up the client and will only accept pull requests to add squares (the list is in script.js). Once I have some configuration stuff obfuscated in the backend, I'll open up the server. It's late, and I wasn't expecting the shout out. Github link later this week. <3

Hey Everyone! I am working on a project for a video that was inspired by a tangent on a WAN Show Awhile back. If you can find the episode, I would be super appreciative so I can properly credit the source of the idea. The Basis of the project/discussion: Linus and Luke were pondering how the YouTube Algorithm selects Auto-Play content, and how random that process is or if you can follow a pattern to see where the videos end up after an amount of time. The methodology they outlined in the discussion was along the lines of setting up several Virtual Machines with no search history or YouTube history and start them on the same video. Make sure auto play is turned on and let it sit for awhile, then record the history results into a spreadsheet and look for trends. If you by chance remember when they talked about this and are able to send me the link, that would be amazing! Thanks for the help everyone!

I used to love seeing awesome and interesting builds from the community with some comments from Luke and Linus. This is one of the WAN shows where they did this: https://youtu.be/c8WrGJ4GLm4?t=5891 I also made a reddit post about it on /r/pcmasterrace: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/53yoit/can_we_get_linus_to_do_builds_of_the_week_on_the/ Hope to see it tomorrow

@LinusTech @Slick While watching the recently released WAN show Linus was talking about an idea where he would strap a computer to his body and power it by batteries for an untethered VR experience. The idea kept me thinking and it's actually not that unthinkable with the currently available hardware. There is plenty of stuff out there that doesn't draw kilowatts of power. Let's break it down and see how feasible this actually is. 1. Some sort of jacket/vest/bag to put all components on to 2. Motherboard/CPU/RAM/cooling solution + VR capable graphics card 3. Power solution for PC and VR headset 4. Peripherals 1. Gathering the base All the gear together will weigh quite a bit, so it has to be solid. After a bit of searching I ended up at http://bigpocketsvest.com/. This has many pockets and uniquely features a bit 14 inch wide, 8 inch deep back pocket. The front pocket where you see an iPad sticking out is about 7 inches wide. Plenty of space for all types of battery banks and what not. As far as an actual case, I kept on coming back to the SilverStone Raven series RVZ01. That'll hold the GPU as well. Since that doesn't fit in the jacket, I looked for a vented backpack that it does fit in and ended up with one from JanSport. You can position the case in such a way that the ports and cables stick out at 1 end and you just leave the zipper open a bit. It would of course be much cooler (hence why this topic is in case modding and not in general discussion) if it would be possible to custom fit the parts inside of a jacket. I guess it should be possible with a custom tiny motherboard tray and some interesting cabling, but it just seems awfully complicated. 2. "The guts" A quick gathering of necessary components, there's a lot out there and plenty room to swap things out. Went with a GTX1060 instead of a RX480 for power consumption reasons. CPU: Intel Core i7-6700T 2.8GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler <= I don't think we need it, but who knows. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard <= Has wireless built in for our portable wifi needs. Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING Video Card And an HTC Vive. 3. Gimme power Going from AC - to a battery bank - back to AC - only to have an SFX sized PSU put it back to DC seems awfully stupid, but I can't find any power banks that can output the required amperage/wattage needed. So SFX power supply it is, 250W will be enough to run this all. We should be able to squeeze one of Anker's new PowerHouse 400Wh portable chargers into the massive back pocket of the jacket, this'll give plenty of power to run the PC. We also need a seperate power bank to power the Vive, but that shouldn't be an issue, there are plenty of power banks out there that can power it for a good while. 4. When you're not 'viving' You do need some sort of screen and keyboard for when you're booting up and gettin' ready. The Logitech K400 is nice and easy and fits in the big front pocket of the jacket so it's nicely tucked away. But we don't want to be tethered to a display somewhere. We can however use one of the IOGEAR Wireless HDMI kits to get an image across the room to a display. I suppose it can go into the mobo's HDMI port, so we keep the 1060s HDMI port free for the Vive. Otherwise get a DisplayPort to HDMI converter and stick that in. Thanks for still reading, if you made it this far. If I had the money I'd give this a try, but alas. We'll have to convince Linus and Luke to follow it through. Thoughts anyone? Improvements? Comments?

http://www.cnet.com/news/google-said-to-unveil-new-phones-4k-chromecast-next-month/ Google is expected to host a media event next month that will focus on several hardware announcements, including new Pixel-branded phones and a 4K Chromecast, Android Police reported late Thursday. The phones will be called the Pixel and Pixel XL, unidentified sources told Android Police, although no other details, such as specs and expected released date, were available. The tech giant is also expected to give more details about Google Home, a new smart speaker that will compete directly with Amazon Echo as an always-listening virtual assistant, and reveal its design for its Daydream VR, a hardware and software platform to help any Android smartphone manufacturer create a VR headset themselves. The report appears to buttress all the rumors suggesting that Google would make its own house-branded phone by the end of 2016. It also emerges in concert with a report that Google has suspended plans for its Project Ara, an ambitious attempt to build a smartphone that lets you swap out its parts like Lego blocks. The event, which Android Police said will occur on October 4, has not yet been officially announced. Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment. by Steven Musil

For example, it sais it's broadcasted Saturdays, at 10.30am in my calender? But it sais Fridays and 4.30pm PST? Im GMT +10 Australia haha. P.s If any member of the Linus Media Tech sees, your awesome love the work thanks so much for the content, hopefully getting a shirt to show my love for the show sometime soon!

So i was watching a live stream for Pauls hardware, then he was late and everyone blamed Linus for him being late. End of story, hope you enjoyed it.
