Atari Announces New Console Based on "PC" Hardware The video has now been a month old and with 1.1 million views (Time of writing this) Atari has positioned itself in a weird spot considering its last console was released in 1993 (24 Years Ago) which that old console (For comparison) is 10 years older than me. The Console is ""Rumored" to be spotting 4K/60FPS Gaming while achieving a low price point. But something to consider does Atari have enough RND money to be investing into a 4K/60FPS gaming box? I have much skepticism as much as some of us to see if this will either make Atari or put the last nail in its coffin for Console Development Comment your thoughts on this! -Nixon (Sources) Engadget PlaystationsLife

In the WAN show you talked about doing actual testing on wearable fitness trackers etc. I can do that testing Through Squires.Fitness or at the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus. no charge you just have to get to colorado. VO2 Max, Fuel utilization and Lactate Threshold I can make make it happen any day. Now, who knows how to get this actually looked at by linus? Email shanon.squires@ucdenver.edu or shanon@squires.fitness

eBay sold their Indian Business Part (eBay.in) to Flipkart. FYI: Flipkart is an e-commerce company, direct competitor of Amazon.in. Flipkart's major advantage is it has its own Payment Gateway and Courier service. And they started e-commerce business far before Amazon in India.

The lost anticipated AMD VEGA frontiers edition cards are now available to be ordered for a cool $899, that's above a grand in the Queens Cash. https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/circuitbreaker/2017/6/27/15882684/amd-radeon-vega-frontier-edition-gpu-price-now-available Let's see the chances of this post getting mentioned in the wan show. Probably a low chance.

Hey guys, I noticed that the weird things going on with the WAN show trailer sequence started roughly around the time this video was released: If you go to the 2:55 marker, you'll see Linus identify his victim. The channel text on this video is "the jankiest thing I've ever done on LTT." So, I can't prove that the two things are related, but you know, something to check out. Jameson P.S. You guys r00l and are super kewel.

iFixit tears the AirPods apart, doesn’t like what it finds Here's an article on the iFixIt Guide: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2016/12/youll-never-be-able-to-fix-apples-airpods-but-theres-neat-stuff-inside/ Summary: like most things Apple it remains hard to service the product should you need to. To me this is increasing the idea of disposable hardware even though it would possibly increase landfill use, or at least increase the amount of hazardous waste in landfills unless taken to tech recycling depots. But at 159USD for disposable hardware is far from appreciated. Had they marked prices lower they might have actually marketed use well beyond the apple ecosystem. Plus: Linus I like your 'Sick' / 'Normal' voice vs. the Chihuahua of tech.but keep the Chihuahua for Techquickie

Amazon's Accidental 99% DISCOUNT - WAN Show July 19, 2019 Am I the only one that thinks it is absurd to compare a pricing screw-up at amazon to the issues faced by aboriginals when the Europeans first arrived in North America? https://youtu.be/jLbXDQKfW8s?t=1441

So a quick glance through the comments on the latest WAN show will highlight the issue..... It's the eating and chewing of Savage Jerky whilst on microphone. For me and a lot of others is makes the show unwatchable and I personally had to skip the majority of the show. It can't be good for business for Savage - some people are literally saying that they wouldn't buy the product because of it! I've added a few of the comments below, this is from 3 mins of looking.... Let's just get this straight, I LOVE the WAN show but this can't go on....

In the latest WAN Show the topic of Autism and Aspergers' syndrome gets brought up. As someone with diagnosed with Autism I believe that Linus covered this topic extremely poorly. The views expressed seem uninformed, and dismissive of individuals with mental disorders and other invisible illnesses. "Aspergers is no longer considered by the WHO a real disorder. Because, to say that feeling socially awkward and, like, you're made uncomfortable about certain things... there's a reason they call it autism spectrum disorder. Because as far as I'm concerned, who's not on it." - Linus To Linus, Luke, any anyone who wants to listen, Yes, Aspergers is no longer recognized as its own disorder. This is because it has been reclassified as part of the Autism spectrum. It did not go away, people who were diagnosed with Aspergers are not suddenly neurotypical. Aspies still have Autism and it's a real disorder, with serious effects. Yes, it's been classified as a spectrum. There are high functioning and low functioning people with Autism, but as to "who doesn't have autism": Many, many people don't have autism. Being inclined towards a subject doesn't mean you have autism, having a hard time with social situations doesn't make you Autistic. I cannot tell you if you're on the spectrum, and unless you're a trained psychologist then you are also not qualified to say if you have Autism. Many other conditions have the same problem with people diagnosing themselves as a disease because they hear a description and see a part of themselves that could be a reduced version of that aspect. Being sad does not mean you have Depression, or that what you think "depressed" feels like is anywhere near the magnitude of the feeling that actually depressed people feel Having different moods does not mean you are Bipolar, or that your moods are anywhere near the levels that they feel Just because you're jumpy does not mean you have PTSD, or that what you experience is anywhere close to what they experience Being socially awkward or being uncomfortable about certain things does NOT mean you're on the Autism spectrum, or that what you're experiencing is anywhere close to what they feel I feel a lot of the misconceptions about invisible illnesses is that most people rarely notice a moderate case of these disorders: people with milder cases are able, through a lot of time and effort, to more or less blend in. But that doesn't mean that the underlying issues aren't there or that they'd be able to function without their coping mechanisms. People that see serious cases can easily misinterpret things as well: he's not autistic, he's just retarded; she's not bipolar, she's just crazy. Speaking personally I'm lucky; I'm classified as high functioning and unless I people about the fact that I'm autistic they generally won't notice. But getting to this point took me over a decade of trial and error. And I still have my own serious issues, I've just quarantined them mostly to my own personal life where they don't bother other people. This mindset particularly saddens me because I love watching LTT and it's various other shows, y'all even have a great episode on the Xbox Adaptive Controller and how it's going great things for the physically impaired gaming community. But mental illnesses are no less real than physical ones, even if you don't see their effects. And just like you wouldn't go to someone with a food allergy and start talking about how you're in the same camp, Indian food will make your face red sometimes, you shouldn't go up to someone with a mental illness and comment how you're just like them, citing potentially severely water downed symptoms. If you want to claim you have a condition, first you should actually get diagnosed with said condition by a qualified professional. If you want to claim that my condition doesn't exist because everyone feels something kinda like one of the symptoms at one point or another: please, don't. Go volunteer with some low functioning people near you, or make friends with people who have been diagnosed and hear their stories. Some people really are different. I won't blame someone for their ignorance, we're all human. But once the ignorance has been highlighted I would be ecstatic if they could learn more about the things they talk about and help to share a more informed opinion if the topic comes up again. Warm regards, -Chris

I've been a fan a long time but I never thought I'd have this opportunity lol! I did it mostly for the luls and because my professor is a nerd who will probably get a kick out of it. It's for a grade, not an academic journal, but still I thought it was funny. Also it was just weird to me that I happened to be researching net neutrality all day and then in the middle of the WAN show the guys are talking about the thing I was reading about all day? Edit: link to entire paper. Don't judge too harshly I put about a B effort into it lol https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Nf1JHEJsnv8ZAR3mEzd8Ts1NqXOjQok/view?usp=sharing

(I wrote this as a school assignment on podcasts and wanted to share! I'm From 17 from Sweden studying an IT technical line at Polhemskolan University) The WAN show is a live podcast about what's been happening in the technology industry the past week. WAN is short for Weakly Analysis and News.and starts every Friday in Canada time (GMT−7). The Show’s hosts are Luke Lafreniere and Linus Sebastian. Linus is the manager for Linus Media Group and front face for Linus Tech Tips on Youtube. Luke was a host and member Linus Media Group but now works for a daughter online video company called Floatplane. The quality of the podcast can vary a lot depending on the topics and hosts. Linus Media Group often have a busy schedule and are known for sometimes being lazy and forgetting things. This is reflected in the podcast as it most of the time starts half an hour late and have become a sort of a meme. Although, the “messiness” gives the podcast a funny and almost a DIY characteristic, which adds a lot of character to the show. That is not to say that the show is in bad quality. The WAN Show actually have one of, if not the best video quality and superb audio quality(depending on your source). The show is not only on Youtube but Soundcloud and Float Plane as well. Both SoundCloud and Floatplane offer superb audio quality and the video quality on Floatplane is far superior to Youtube’s offering. The show starts (after the hosts apologising for being late) with a brief summary of the news and other topics of the episode and rolls a short intro. After about half an hour, the podcast breaks with some sponsors of the show. The sponsor spots last for about seven minutes but are skippable. After the Sponsor spots, the show continues with more news and topics and ends with some paid “superchats” sent by viewers on Youtube. In total, the show is about one hour long. In the beginning, I found that too long, but luckily there is always timestamps left by users in the comment section, and sometimes in the description, if they remember to add them. From there you can select the topics you want to listen to if you are not into all of them. The timestamps are not that quick to show up and therefore I would recommend listening at least 2 hours after the episode is uploaded if you really want the topic timestamps. As a summary, The WAN Show is one of, if not the best tech podcast out there. It goes through most of the biggest weekly tech news and rumours whilst still keeping their DIY charm. In my opinion, the great charm makes the podcast funny and easily relatable. I have watched it for about a year and have no plan on stopping. This podcast is focused on the more knowledgeable about tech people but I think that even a not so tech savvy person would pick up the talk and enjoy the show fast as well.

What's up Floatplane chat members! Today was my first Floatplane chat WAN show (can't say Livestream cause of the Roast), and at the end, I witnessed the magic of the internet and the birth of the #NubbitGang. Shoutout to Luke for creating this wonderful clan of minions and James for being James. A couple of FP members thought the idea of a #nubbitgang shirt was awesome so here we go! The first draft is attached and all comments are taken into account for the next mini-design idea! ** (keep in mind this is no way endorsed by Linus/Luke/James/Jake/LTT/LMG for now and I'm just making quick renders during my study breaks for my finals) ** -- Matty

What is the software that is used for the WAN show? I don't think it is OBS because they are streaming to several places and you can only stream to one in OBS. Please answer if you know because I am curious.

I think Linus should make the Wan show more "just listening" friendly. There have been many times that I am just listening and then Linus starts using gestures, or screen sharing and I will not understand what he's talking about. So I have to stop what I'm doing, replay the part I missed, and watch it to understand what he's talking about. Please show your support below and try to get this to get noticed so he can use this constructive criticism. Also they should add the wan show to Spotify as a podcast, it would be so much easier.

Just finished watching yesterday WAN show from Italy, yeah when it's live it's kinda night here. So what about a video on how to setup a phone for kids usage, i found really interesting Linus' notifications on everything happening. It would be very helpfull for parents/older siblings (yeah I am +18 from my sister and she won't go out till 30s ! ? ).

The comments at the end of the WAN show today had me concerned a bit. Linus was surprised that an employee asked for a Mac. And a web developer, no less. I thought I'd jump on the forum to give my opinion. I'm a web developer. Java, Ruby, Perl, Javascript, Sass... the full stack. My preferred IDE is anything JetBrains with the Vim plugin installed. I'm also a command line guy; zsh is my preferred shell. I have developed full-time on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Comparing each machine I'll say, give me a Mac every time. I don't care if it has a slower processor. But before you write me off as a fanboy, here me out... The work flow I use is much more tuned on a unix/linux machine. I'm able to be much more efficient in this environment. Some things are just easier to do on a *nix environment. So many developer tools are written for the *nix environment. And virtually all of them run on the Mac without any sort of emulation. Most of the main ones run on Windows. If I'm given a Windows machine, the first thing I do is install Chrome, the second is install Cygwin. So they will run, but often have limited compatibility. A big one is git. Git is heavily dependent on a *nix environment. Of course it runs on Windows (with a posix backend supporting it), but any advanced git user can tell you about problems that they've had while running on Windows. You might say, "Why run on a Mac? Why not just use Linux? It's *nix and it's free, right?" Yes. Linux is free and will run on a PC, but it's also nice to not have to mess with driver compatibility on the machine you use every day. And there are still rendering problems with some of the modern window management systems in the Centos, Ubuntu, and Mint if you work on a hi-res monitor. Not a problem on a Mac. I hope I'm not written off as a fan boy. I game on an i7-6700k and Nvidia 1080ti. It's one I built myself with hardline watercooling and UV luminescent cables that I sleeved. I'm an enthusiast like the rest of you. Which is why I watch the videos and why I'm on this forum. But I also think that Mac users are treated like 2nd rate citizens in the tech-tips-topia. Linus, if your developer wants a Mac mini, then get him one! He'll be much a happier and better developer for it. And if you do, then don't hide it. You'll attract more talent if you're open to Mac developers.

Hi all As a devout watcher of the WAN show, I've started to notice a problem. As you are the tech guru's of the world, I'm surprised that you haven't realised that the background of the WAN show could be causing people screen burn. All you need is some RGB backlighting behind the hexagons and something to break the solid colours up. Come on Linus, sort this out.

I kept checking YouTube for the WAN show the last few hours and the live stream never showed up. Now that the show is not live anymore, YouTube is showing me the video. Did this happen to anyone else? I never realized how incompetent Google/YouTube are.
