Hi guys I am wondering what software to use for voice chat in games like World of Tanks, Battlefield 4,3 CS GO and so? Can people in game without software hear me with that software?

My memory sucks and i'm constantly taking notes, but ever since Android did away with lock screen widgets i've been unable to take voice notes as easily. I was wondering how many of you take voice notes and use a dedicated device vs using your smart phone. For those that use dedicated devices, what do you use?

Backstory: 2 years ago, I fell for the scam, and bought a pair of Astro A40. To be honest, I'm surprised they lasted this long, given their 1-year warranty, anyway, this isn't about them. About 2 months ago, my microphone started having issues, but it wasn't too bad, so I decided to ignore it for the most part. It hasn't gotten that much worse, but at this point, it's a major annoyance. To the point: So, I've been looking around for some smaller desk microphones to replace the included detachable boom-mic. At this point, I'm really liking the look and formfactor of the Samson Meteor and Meteorite, however, from what I've heard they tend to break within a week or two. So does anyone know of similar products? Or has anyone here had a good experience with said microphones? Thanks in advance!

I have a tech YouTube channel and a lot of complaints is my audio so Instead of using Apple ear pods I used my iPhone 5 instead and it still sounds bad. I need a auto tune software that will be able to help me make my voice sound good. it doesn't matter if its paid and doesn't have a free trial as I am willing to invest. A sample of the sound

Hey LinusTechTips Community! I've got a Problem regarding the Voice Control Features for Music Playback on Android Wear. I often use it to quickly start listening to Music of a certain Artist, by saying something like: play [artist]. But when doing this on my Moto 360 it always launches the SoundCloud app and searches for the corresponding Artist there. However, I want this to be done with Google Play Music or the Music app provided by CM11. When using Google Now on my Phone (LG G3 running CM11) I can choose which app should be used for Playback and it always uses my Preset. I have "Music Playback" set to Play Music in the Android Wear Application and reset any default Actions in the app Directory of the Phone Settings. I hope that someone maybe had the same Issue and/or knows a Way around it. Greetings from Germany and I wish you all an awesome (hopefully sunny) Sunday!

Hey guys, So I currently have a Logitech G230 which is alright, but is starting to act up after 2 years, so I'm looking around for a new headphones + mic. It doesn't necessarily have to be a headset, but I'm just wondering if having them both separate would be a good idea or better in terms of audio/mic quality. I'm planning to spend around 200AUD for both but I've got no idea what is best for that price.

Article from Pocketnow Blog entry by Microsoft It's about time they make it available as a public beta. I've been using the unfinished app since it was leaked out and have been depending on APKMirror for the updates, which was a bit of a hassle. I hope Microsoft will improve Cortana's app launch speed. Totally looking forward to that one. Link to Cortana for Android beta program And I just found out that it's not available here in Canada. Bummer.

Was looking at the status of my Amazon Echo order today, and had a thought. My first experience with software designed to analyze sentences produced by humans to return relevant data was with the wolphram-alpha beta site. At the time it was incredible, not only how adept it was at picking out the key parts of the sentence and analyzing them, but also the way it would show it's reasoning. Now Google does very similar things in it's search engine, allowing anyone to use their browser or phone to ask a question, using speech or text, and have it return (usually) relevant data culled from a number of sites, although I generally have the best luck when it comes from Wikipedia. Therefore, if I had not ever heard of the echo, and someone asked me who would be the best company to pioneer a living room speaker designed to accept spoken queries and return data, as well as accept spoken commands which it would then execute, I would have thought Google, likely while working with Asus, HTC, or Samsung as far as the actual hardware is concerned. So I guess my question is, Why is Amazon getting there first? Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited to get my Echo. As a Prime subscriber I look forward to accessing their music library for radio functions, using it's many tools (shopping list creation, timers, alarms) and having something there to answer those silly questions we'd rather not have to dig out our laptops/phones to look up. (Hey Alexa, how do you spell Obsequious?) I feel like with Google's push towards home automation, they could include support for many other things as well. I can imagine sitting, watching television and deciding I'm too warm, and then requesting that my Nest Thermostat be turned down, all without having to lift a finger. Perhaps a 360 degree IR blaster so I could program it to turn on and tune my TV to whatever channel I choose while my fingers are busy kneading dough. How about the ability to compose and send texts and emails through my phone while it's still in my pocket, or in my bedroom charging? I guess my point is, Echo is a fantastic piece of hardware, but it's looped into an ecosystem I'm not invested in outside of my Prime subscription, which I rarely use except for the 2-day shipping. Google on the other hand practically owns me, as I use exclusively gmail for email purposes, I maintain a youtube account with a few subscribers, I have an android phone, 2 android tablets, an NVIDIA Shield, and a chromebook. Why hasn't Google stepped forward with something that actually links into the accounts I use? TL;DR Why is Amazon releasing an always listening query and command accepting device and not google? Note: Please, can we not turn this into a discussion about how always on listening devices are dangerous. That conversation has been had many times and isn't what I was going for here, thanks

Alright, so here's the deal. I'm a casual Twitch streamer. Currently I stream my one preferred game, and I do so using my ASTRO Gaming A50 for audio and mic. The A50 has been great, and the mic picks up my voice more accurately than I could have hoped. The problem is with my own idiosyncrasies. I have a habit of letting my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth when I'm not talking or otherwise doing something with my mouth. This means that when I do start talking, there's a slight smacking sound from my tongue unsticking. I'm told that this would be off-putting for alot of potential viewers. Now that I'm aware of the problem I'm actively trying to stop, but it's something I've been doing for years so it's not going away overnight. This is where microphones come in. I could get something like an Audio-Technica AT2020 USB to have something further away from my mouth. The issue there is that I stream from a high traffic, high activity room. This leads me to my question: Are viewers more likely to be put-off by my tongue noise, or by the sound of random activity and conversations going on around me in real life? I get the sense that the AT2020 would be best for combating the first problem, but the A50 would handle the second one better. So which is the generally preferred solution? or is there even a consensus on something like this? Thanks in advance. EDIT: Never mind. I think I have my answer.

So i was just wondering if anyone had found a really good mic for its price. The sorta mic that is good for using in game, in TS and in skype. Not one that is necessarily great for recording audio. Personally i was looking at just going ballz deep and buying a blue Yeti, ok its a little pricey but i dont think i will ever need another mic again after that (unless it breaks) Please leave suggestions and links to what ever you think is worth the money and gives good-great audio quality for the money. Thank you, and keep doing your forumy things... Thorne

Originally the internet thought that Samsung was intentionally crippling 'Ok, Google' functionality but word on the street is that its actually something Google changed that is causing issues. Not that I'm shocked, Google has some issues on the software front these days and then attempting to dump their problems onto OEMs and then convincing their customers that it isn't their problem at all. I hope this gets fixed. I like S Voice, but Ok, Google is nice too. Hopefully they fix up the problems for users (reports of Samsung, Nexus and OPO devices) who want to make use of both. Here was a S6 at launch: S6 after the update: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Did-you-know-Ok-Google-voice-command-comes-crippled-on-Samsungs-Galaxy-S6-S-Voice-promoted-instead_id68477

I have no idea where to put this.. it is no actually about the code but more about changing the text-to-speech voice... I am making a program http://nosliwmichael.blogspot.com/2013/05/jarvis-speech-recognition-program.htmlsomething like that changet just a little bit added press to talk function other whise it is driving me crazy... starting arkham origins in the middle of fb chat... but fixed that.. the problem is that the default voice (microsoft Anna) is not really for this program but my idea is military voice.. can you imagine it ? Soldier (no way Im using jarvis for the name... too mainstream... ) start COD AW. *cracking radio sounds* Initiating target repeat initiating target *cracking radio sounds*.It would be amazing but I just can't find military voice pack for Windows 7 Text-to-Speech... THIS IS NOT A REPOST. This post is about new features of Microsoft Spartan browser features! Microsoft is planning to radically overhaul its web browser in Windows 10. Sources familiar with the company’s Windows plans tell The Verge that the new browser, codenamed Spartan, will include a host of new features not found in rival browsers. Chief among the plans for Spartan is new inking support that allows Windows 10 users to annotate a web page with a stylus and send the notes and annotations to a friend or colleague. The web note service will be powered by Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage, meaning notes will be stored on a copy of a web page that can be accessed by any browser across multiple platforms. As annotations are shared, multiple users can doodle on a web page and share edits and annotations between groups. A second major feature for Spartan will be the integration of Microsoft’s Cortana digital assistant. Microsoft is planning to use Cortana to surface information on flights, hotel bookings, package tracking, and other data within the traditional address bar. If you use Cortana to track a particular flight and start to search for "American Airlines" in the browser address bar, it will automatically display tracked flights and allow Spartan users to view the status of the flight directly. It’s a subtle addition, but you’ll also be able to access Cortana search directly from the new tab interface in Spartan. Cortana integration in the Spartan browser is planned to replace every instance of the existing Bing methods in Internet Explorer. Other features include a new way to group tabs together to declutter the occasionally messy interface of multiple browser tabs. Spartan will allow users to group tabs however they want, making it easier, for example, to split up personal tabs from work ones. Microsoft also originally planned to allow Spartan to support custom themes, but we understand the company has dropped this for the final new browser in Windows 10. Such support may arrive in future updates. Spartan is designed to be a single browser across PCs, tablets, and phones. Microsoft will make Spartan a Windows Store app, enabling the company to quickly and easily update the browser in future. ZDNet previously reported that Microsoft will continue to include Internet Explorer in Windows 10. Spartan is the main browser in Windows 10, and most users will be accessing the web using it. While Spartan will be a Windows Store app, Microsoft isn’t planning to make it a universal app initially. One version of Spartan will be available in the Store as a desktop app, and another as a modern app for tablets and phones. Both will be updated regularly with identical features. Microsoft is planning to keep the look and feel of Spartan very similar across phones, tablets, and PCs. The desktop version looks like a simplified version of Chrome, with a tabbed interface above the address bar, alongside options to go back, forward, and refresh a page. It’s all designed to look lightweight, without the bloat typically associated with older versions of Internet Explorer. While the Spartan name is a codename, it’s not clear if Microsoft plans to continue the Internet Explorer branding with its new browser. That naming and other features of Spartan could play a part in Microsoft’s Windows 10 event on January 21st. Microsoft is planning to detail the consumer features of Windows 10 at its press event later this month, including its phone and tablet features. Here is the @XTankSlayerX 's thread which contains screen shots of Microsoft's new browser! Source: TheVerge

So, I am at another impasse as it happens extremely, horribly, daily--often. It happens a lot pretty much. So, the Microphone / Condensers in question are the: Sennheiser MK4, Audio-Technica AT4040, and the AKG C214. The purposes for these microphones is actually just for general use scenario's involving skype, and other chat mediums, but also possibly streaming in the future(because whim), overkill likely, but I'm obsessive with quality, and have pretty much searched everywhere taking in comparisons, but would happily like to ask you all on your opinions if you've heard, own, or have compared them before! As well while being here I may as well ask about any recommended pre-amps. I've been considering a Focsurite 2i4 for whichever one I choose, but have considered a Line6 UX2 Pod interface as well, any further suggestions are appreciated as well as all input or feedback is appreciated. So, thank you all kindly.

I have recently hit a so called "nostalgic fever" in which I want to go back to the olden days of stop motion animation. I found a short script from years ago, that turned out to actually be quite humorous, and I need somebody to act in it. I have asked all of my other friends, but none of them are willing to. If you are willing here is what I need you to voice: In a somewhat bored manner: "Which floor?" Now, you are showing a little interest, but still not much: "Nice, same floor as me." Now, give me a good sneeze. For reals, I need a sneeze for this animation. Next, in a alarmed, not sure what you have done manner: "What?" In a 'this is total BS' voice: "No you can't!" GIVE ME THE BEST SNEEZE YOU HAVE EVER GIVEN ANYONE EVER! A BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF AMAZING SNEEZE. Yeah I need another, but more grandiose, sneeze. And thats a wrap! If any of you are willing, I will be eternally greatful, and will pay you back with a drawing of your choice. Yes, I will grace you with one of my oh so "Beautiful" and "Coveted" drawings.... It's worth it.

I'm sure everyone here knows about the ability to use the Okay Google phrase to start up Google Now's voice command feature. It's a nice feature and when I'm at home I use it occasionally. The MotoX has a similar feature but it can use any phrase you like. Anyone know if there's a way to get this MotoX feature onto other phones? I presume it'll need root but my device is rooted so that isn't an issue

I recently integrated Google Voice with my phone, but when I make calls from it, I get something like this. That number at the top is not my Google Voice number, nor is it my cell phone number. It also changes every time I make a call. My question is, what phone number will the person I'm calling see? That number, or my Google Voice number? Also, what is that number? I'm trying to switch a lot of stuff over to Google Voice, because I may be changing carriers to T-Mobile in anticipation of the OnePlus pre-orders, and I can't get it on my current carrier (I'm on Virgin Mobile now). Walmart has a pretty awesome deal for T-Mobile phones -- $30/month for 5GB of data and unlimited texting, but only 100 minutes, so moving to Google Voice would be very helpful.

So who gives you dem feelins when you hear them sing? I do this when I'm on the hunt for more of something, and right now I want to discover some more of the deliciousness that is a woman's singing voice. I have posted a few of the ones I love below in no particular order, more will follow if the thread takes off, I hope it will I've started a couple of successful music threads so far. Please post LIVE music if possible, but feel free to drop studio if you can't find a good enough live version, especially if it's new artists (that's what the thread is for, to find new stuff so saying no studio stuff is stupid). Eva Cassidy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEBBGSgO16M Katie Melua. (she is so ridiculously beautiful she should be illegal  ) Norah Jones. Beatrix Pirate. (great remix of her cover of wicked games if you liked the above) Beth Hart. Nina Simone. Sade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFlyCcVYQCY Enya. One studio record coming, prepare yourselves. Tei Shi. Now finally a studio one by someone who sucks live, but I can't stop listening to.. haters gonna hate.

This is just an interesting video I wanted to share, I promise it's worth watching if you like tech (if not, what are you doing here? :D) I can't say it didn't pass through my mind that this is fake at first, but I do believe it is definitely possible... it just needs A LOT of patience and playing around, mostly with Tasker's AutoVoice feature .
