Hey, im running a plex media server under Windows 10 and recently changed my ISP now running the standard router from Vodafone which is the Vodafone Box. Now i realized that this runes with DS-Lite. So basically i can't use port forwarding. Now I have two options 1) Buy a new router like a Fritzbox 2) find a way to use Plex remote access without port forwarding in the router Any Ideas or setups?

I have a Vodafone HG659 with the 2.4 and 5ghz enabled. Everything works perfectly on phone, ipad, smart tv, etc. I have 75 down and 16 up. Problem: Only on PC (any pc I try), when I use google chrome it will work perfectly for a while until eventually as im going on to a website, e.g youtube, it will take a couple seconds and then I get the ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error message. This happens on all PC's I try. When it happens how I fix it is by switching to the other frequency but this only lasts so long before I have to switch back. It happens to every website but it isnt consistent. Ive tried turning off the 5ghz but then I have no way of fixing the issue. Please help me as Vodafone them self said they couldnt help me. Ive tested it without an antivirus active and I have restarted my router many times. Its been like this since I got it 1 and a half years ago.

Hey all, I'm having a slight issue with my internet at the moment, I have Vodafone (Vodacom/Verizon) Fibre Unlimited and over Wi-Fi I average about 35-40 MBPS (I'm in a rural area so that's plenty for me). But recently I've been having random issues with the connection speed and ping in games (The highest I seen was in CS:GO where it hit 800ms). Windows does not detect any issue with the Wi-Fi adapter or the connection itself. Running a speedtest is a nightmare, 99% of the time it won't connect to the website and the one time it did I had 0.2MBPS down and 1.2MBPS up...Pinging Google.ie reveals I have 0% Packet loss, but the "Approximate round trip" times were crazy high: "Minimum = 322ms, Maximum = 1938ms, Average = 826ms". If I'm not mistaken that time should be around 100-150ms? The router I am using is a Vodafone (Huawei) HG658c, running on firmware version V100R001C172B230. My PC is a custom system running an i5 2500, 16GB of DDR3, a 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, an Antec VP700P (700W) PSU and Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version 1607.My Wi-Fi adapter is made by Ranlink but I don't know the actual model number of it. If anyone can help that would be amazing! Thanks in advance. Dylan.

Hi, I have a Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo. I've had it for about 3 years and now I want to try something different by installing a new version of Android on it. However, for the life of me I can't find anything like Lollipop 5.0 to use on it or Marshmallow 6.0 as a custom ROM for it... Does anyone know where I could find them for me to use? Or even just give me the link straight to a possible ROM? I already use KitKat version 4.4.4. If I can't get it working, then I have a Kindle coming in the post soon so I can try it on that instead. Thanks, BP

I usually don't write any news articles, so please don't be too harsh to me My translation: "Half a year ago we brought half gigabit speeds to our network. Now we are going to buid the first gigabit-stations. With that we're going a big step towards a 'Gigabit-Society' and Show how fast Germany can surf in the future.", Hannes Ametsreiter, the CEO of Vodafone Germany said. Vodafone Germany wants to expand their current infrastructure to support 1 Gigabit LTE in four major cities in Germany: Berlin Düsseldorf Hannover Hamburg The interesting bit is, that there are currently no phones available to even support 1 Gigabit LTE. Apparently the newly announced Huawei Mate 10 Pro can achieve 1 Gigabit speeds. But on the other hand this will at least push technology forwards and I like what they're doing. In the article they talk about "4.5G Technologie". Apparently they achieve those speeds by "bundeling multiple frequency bands together" and by "aligning atennas in a certain way" in the upcoming smartphone models. This all sounds like gibberish to me, so maybe someone else can explain it in more detail. Hey everyone! I'm not an enthusiast guy when it comes to phones but a year or so ago my phone got stolen and i've been driving around with an old Nokia E65. I've been using it really as a phone-phone (texts and calls) and getting my app/internet fix with the tablet and computer. However, I've been thinking of getting a new one. My carrier, Vodafone, has a points system which essentially lets you have phones for cheaper, at the exchange of those points (you get these from using their services, yadada). So what this is essentially about is, should i get the Huawei P9 Lite for 171€ or the Vodafone Smart Platinum 7 for 228€? The Vodafone one has a bigger, 1440p display vs the Huawei 1080p IPS one. The Huawei has a snappier CPU but the Vodafone has more internal storage. Battery capacity is the same on both (3000mAh) but the Smart Platinum has QuickCharge 3.0. I do believe the Smart Platinum has no optic image stabilization and i think that would be a nice touch. Anyway, what would be your pick?

Hey, to start with, I'm from England so some of the network providers you may not be familiar with if you're from NA, which alot of people on this site seem to be. so I'm trying to sell my iPhone 6s as I got a 6s+ and I was asked what networks it worked with. Now, I assumed it was unlocked as I had 2 networks on the phone when I was changing my steam account number and needed to access my older sim. I've tested 5 Networks. (EE, Virgin, Vodafone, O2 and Giff Gaff) and only EE, Virgin and Giff Gaff work, the other 2 say it's not compatible. Just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on why only certain networks (that aren't partnered) work with the phone and others aren't compatible. Thanks

So, let's get down to the point. I'm kinda a phone noob and I'm upgrading to a new smartphone soon. I'd like your advice on which I should pick, the Motorola Moto G 2015 (the 1GB RAM 8GB storage version, the 2GB RAM 16GB storage version is not available on upgrade for me) or the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. I'd like: 5" IPS screen or larger Android, with minimal bloatware Storage is not important as I have a few microSD cards around Quick for web browsing Moto G Pros and cons: + Confirmed updates to Marshmallow + Compatible with dbrand vinyl skins - Less RAM/storage overall than the SU6 Vodafone SU6 Pros and cons: + Better technical specifications than the Moto G + Larger 5.5" 1080p screen - better for media consumption - Not confirmed updates to Marshmallow AFAIK - Larger screen - worse for ergonomics (I have small hands) I do a fair amount of media consumption with my devices as well as messaging and web browsing, and the occasional picture. I'd really like it if you could give me your verdict on what phone you would choose out of these two, or if you deem it necessary suggest alternatives that fit my needs under £150 or so. Thanks everyone, I welcome suggestions

I bought a Smart Ultra 6 (well, actually 2, but I'll get onto that later) to click and collect in store. When I went to collect it there was a problem with their system so it wouldn't accept my order number. I had the phone in my hand and I had paid for it but I couldn't take it home. They said to come back the next day, which I did but the problem still wasn't fixed. The guy in the store phoned their support who suggested cancelling the order, which would refund me and me to buy the phone again in store. He did that but because their system is awful, it apparently takes 2 days for phones to go back in stock, and there was only mine in stock! When I got home, I ordered another to get delivered to my home since I didn't want to have to go all the way back to the store. It got delivered the morning after I ordered it which I was surprised about as it said 2-4 days. I had used that phone for a whole day before I got a phone call from the store saying that a phone had been delivered to the store with my name on and I should go and collect it. I went to collect it, but because my order had been cancelled (I still haven't got the refund so I don't think they actually cancelled it) I couldn't get the phone! The manager of the store had to add a fake phone to the stock so I could get it, which meant I got a receipt with the phone apparently costing £0.00 so I obviously can't return that one! I decided to get my monies worth out of the 14 day returns policy (why wouldn't you!), so yesterday I contacted them by live chat to return the phone, they said they couldn't do it and I had to phone customer support. Because I'm not actually a Vodafone customer (I wonder why!), it was just about impossible to get through to somebody, it turns out you have to ignore the automated voice until it gets to the main menu. From that point I followed the instructions I received on the live chat, which of course were completely wrong! After being transferred between 3 different departments they finally decided to transfer me to the pay as you go returns department. I was on hold for 1 and a half hours before they cut the call! I phoned back, but by the time I got through to someone again, it was 7:59 and the returns department closes at 8pm so he said he couldn't transfer me and I should try again tomorrow. So I get in tonight and decide to get straight onto it. I contact live chat again to see if I can find out the right information. The guy said that instead of me having to phone up and go through all of the menus, he would phone me and transfer me to the right department. He called, but, you've guessed it, he transferred me to the wrong department! I went from pay monthly returns, to pay monthly customer services, to pay as you go customer services who then said they would transfer me to returns. I phoned them at 6:30, it's now 8:40 and I'm still on hold. I know they're 'closed' but they could at least tell me instead of "We're really busy at the moment, sorry for the delay" and "Thanks for holding on, all of our team are busy at the moment. As soon as someone is free we'll put you through". I'm not even going to hang up, I'm just leaving the call active, they're paying for the call so it's not my problem. The staff in the store were brilliant, it's the call centres that are awful, in fact, awful isn't strong enough! It has now passed the 14 days to return the phone but I'll call again tomorrow and if they say I can't return it I am going to make several complaints. Well, I'm going to make complaints anyway! Oh, and to top it all off, their hold music is christmas music still!! It wouldn't be so bad if they played the full songs, but they only play the chorus then change song, and there's only three songs in the loop. One of them is perhaps one of the worst christmas songs ever, Driving Home for Christmas (which is actually by Chris Rea who is from just down the road). This went on a bit longer than I thought it would, but as the kids these days say #YOLO. Has anybody else had any problems with Vodafone? I'm on EE (purely because of the £10 100gb for 2 month sim and their 3G is faster than O2's 4G)

Vodafone in the Netherlands about to get rid of slow-speed customers. Vodafone in the Netherlands, a daughter-company lead by KPN announced they are going to disconnect a few hundred people off of their customer list because their speeds are below 12 megabit. This has been confirmed by Vodafone after a Tweakers.net user (Dutch tech-website) received a letter in which the new policy was explained. From the 30th of March Vodafone will be rolling out this new policy in which 12 megabit per second is a minimum for Vodafone-home customers. Customers which can't get those speeds because they're too far from the central-point will be disconnected. The provider also cancels all support for isdn-connections from the 30th of March. Both cases are on the network of KPN. The reason behind this decision is vague, spokesman Jasper Koek claims it's done to "generate a certain quality" "We looked at which minimum speed we need to offer to get the quality you expect to get" says Koek. The minimum-limit of 12 megabit applies to all customers. "An internetspeed of less than 12 megabit a second is not sufficient for all the services we provide." says Koek. Customers with less than 12 megabit are no longer accepted, even doing a postcode check as a new customer shows you won't be accepted. The decision causes hundreds of Vodafone-customers to have to switch to another ISP. According to Koek it's "a mere few hundred customers, less than a thousand". Of those few hundred customers 200 have isdn-connections; the rest of them have a slow asdl-connection. Customers can switch to another dsl-provider, or if possible choose for cable or glass-fibre provider. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is bullshit, those people would've probably already jumped to another provider with those speeds, obviously they can't switch to cable or glass-fibre, those would've already been connected as they want as much customers as possible. Article (Dutch): http://tweakers.net/nieuws/100790/vodafone-gaat-thuis-klanten-met-trage-verbinding-afsluiten.html

According to a press release published last night, Voda is going to return to the usa as an MVNO using T-Mobile’s network. It’s plan is to aim squarely at the enterprise market, to provide a solution specifically for multi-national clients. It’s planning to launch the service late next year (2015). Vodafone wants to supply wireless services to more than 400 multinational clients, and a further 500 Vodafone multinational customers based outside America, but with a “strong U.S. presence”. According to the press release Vodafone’s MNC proposition includes: an unrivaled international wireless footprint, with networks in 27 countries (including 16 Vodafone markets with 4G LTE networks) extending to more than 75 countries through partner market relationships proven total communications products and services for enterprise, from telecommunications expense management and security products to cloud services and Vodafone OneNet fixed-mobile converged products and services enabling employees to collaborate and communicate on any device on any network, anywhere ongoing expansion of the world’s most advanced IP-VPN global network, with 91 points of presence (PoPs) rising to 212 PoPs by the end of 2015 to span 67 countries and global leadership in M2M capabilities, with Vodafone SIMs now embedded in more than 18.6 million products across 23 countries From a T-Mobile point-of-view this could give the company a bigger foothold in the enterprise market. And area where, traditionally, T-Mobile hasn’t done so well. At least not compared to the likes of Verizon which has a huge corporate customer base. I have an HTC One M7 that is currently running CyanogenMod. I would like to revert it back to stock with sense and all and for that I need an RUU. My carrier is Vodafone and I am in the UK and I have not been able to find an RUU for this specific carrier. I have looked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428276 and I could not see any RUUs there for my device, only OTAs which are the wrong thing I am pretty sure. I have looked for a while for one and cannot seem to find one anywhere. I was wondering if anyone here knew where I could get he correct RUU for my device?

Hello, recently I found a really good value plan with vodafone where for $10 more then I'm paying at the moment I get a far superior device then I have at the moment and much better plan. That said, whenever I bring it up, everyone always seems to say the same thing. "Vodafone has crap reception though" That's what I'm looking into. If anyone on here uses/has used them in the last couple of years please tell me what your experience was like in terms of call quality, network reliability, customer service ETC, and preferably where about (just like rough locations) you've used it. And if it matters, I'm about 2 hours north of Sydney and on optus 3G at the moment
