Linus mentioned in his live steam that people who used ad block were affecting how much money they got, I know that I want to help him out but I only want the ads unblocked for linus's videos and not the whole of youtube. I know in adblock you can set up exceptions and I know if I were to add "youtube.com/linustechtips" that it would not block the ads on the actual video as when the video plays its URL is "youtube.com/watch....." I was just wondering if there was a way around this? For now I have just enabled ads on the whole of youtube so that linus does not miss out on the tiny fraction that my ad watching will generate

Recently YouTube have changed a rule so that you are not allowed to have giveaway video's on your channel. Meaning you can no longer ask people to like and subscribe for a giveaway entry. Even videos from before the rule change are being affected. So people who have uploads from long a ago and also multiple videos have a high chance of having their channel banned unless the videos are removed. The thing is when people ask for sub's and like's it brings viewers back to the channel for future videos, there for increasing Google's/YouTube's ad revenue. So what's the problem, its not betting or gambling. What are your guys thoughts on this? Thanks for all responses

Hi. First time here, glad to meet you all. Am I insane, or is there one video where in the intro there are words: PCs, unboxings, reviews, blabla.. keyboards, mice, and then for a split second, CATS LOL i had to make an account to ask. Has anyone else seen that or am I insane? To Linus, should you ever see this: You guys are great, you have such stupid humour sometimes that you remind me of me and my friends in the bar, and that's why i love you guys.. you radiate such friendly environment and goofiness... Especially so as I have small hands like you and my best pal is spitting image of slick. It's funny.

Hello guys, I would really like a small PC, by small I mean Zotac Zbox small and my overall budget is about 300€, you can also recommend a bit larger mini itx system. Currently I'm looking at the MA320 and with RAM and a SSD it would cost about 210€ I would mainly be using the PC to stream videos, surf the web and if the PC is powerful enough some light gaming. Since I'm going to use the PC with a TV, digital audio out and HDMI is a must, if it isn't a part of your build calculate another 20€ for an external digital output. cheers

I personally think an 1440p is becoming necessarry , cause i guess they have the hardware already (i mean camera). I understand it would take more time to edit 1440p but not that much more. 2160p would definietly take more time but that res. is not yet necessary. So what do you think ? http://strawpoll.me/2454236/

Hey guys, My name is ZeoTechCenter and I also go by this on YouTube. I'm not here to advertise my channel, I'm simply here because I'm curious as to what kind of technology/computer videos you want to see. As a potential viewer your opinion would really help out. Often one of the hardest things to come up with are ideas for videos and by getting your thoughts it can really help me out and get you the kind of content you want to see. Now I'm no Linus or anything, I'm small time at this point. However I would really like to expand my channel and I can only do that by uploading more videos. Feel free to be as vague or specific as you like, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Simply tell me what you would like to learn how to do or what would you like reviewed. Thank you so much for your time, I truly appreciate it. Damian,

Hi guys. A friend helped me piece together something to get a pc build for gaming and streaming ready. I already have everything up for order except for the ram. Which my buddy said I should hold out on buying for now. Has anyone used this perticular ram?(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231654) If so. Any issues? Anyways. I was wondering if this is a good build. I plan on doing some live streaming in the future. Maybe with something like Skyrim for example. I want to do some let's play videos as well. I would like to know if this build would be able to handle the rather intensive Skyrim texture mods out there. Also will this be able to smoothly run next gen titles like Watchdogs, Battlefield 4, Titan Fall? I'm entirely new to the whole pc gaming world so any input would be nice. My overall budget is $950. The following link is the build I have in mind: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/KnockOutNinja1/saved/3lsy The cpu fan is here:http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-RR-212E-20PK-R2/dp/B005O65JXI Thank you guys for your time. Any suggestions for cheaper, more efficient and cost effective parts are greatly appreciated! PS. Try to keep your explanations dummy proof. I'm a complete noob.

Hello everyone! I really want to start a tech channel again on YouTube, I had one before but got rid of it because I made 2 videos and then left it for like 6 months. So I want to start up again, with a fresh name, website, social accounts and whatever else. Do you guys think if it's a good idea if I do so? I mean I want to, but I want the communities opinion as well. I would probably do unboxings, TRUTHFUL reviews, giveaways, tutorials and the odd video here and there. Please let me know what you guys think! (And maybe give me some name suggestions, seeing how I suck at thinking of names)

So I was looking around the forum and saw that LinusTech joined the forum on January 1, 2013. http://linustechtips.com/main/user/3-linustech/ I may be wrong, but since he was the first to join I think that means the birthday was yesterday! So I'd like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINUS TECH TIPS FORUM! I love the videos and forums and hope they'll keep coming.

My browser is Firefox 24.0 and I'm using YouTube Center via Greasemonkey. This started happening over a week ago. When I'm running youtube center, my resolution options are more limited, I only have 720p, 360p and 240p available. Messing around with settings in Youtube center doesn't seem to help. But If I disable Greasemonkey completely in the Addons menu, I have a full menu of resolutions including 1080p. Has anyone else had this problem?

So apparently gaming videos on youtube are being flagged for their content http://www.tubefilter.com/2013/12/10/youtube-contentid-flag-gaming-videos/ WTF is wrong with people this is free advertising for your game, I really wish that these executives and their lawyers would take a flying fuck off a cliff. These are peoples creative commentary on a product they are basically promoting to millions of people for you which you would never do through youtube and you are arguing that because the music was only licensed for the game that the video is flagged, generally most walk through channels have the creators commentary over the game, and you barely hear the music.

Hello this is my first post so I apologize if it's a bit shit but anyway here it goes! Yeah so basically YouTube just updated the comment section of YouTube videos in order to integrate google+ and I think it sucks personally I think google + is horrible in a whole so integrating it in to YouTube is very annoying, oh boy do I remember the days of the old layout... So I just wanted to see what all of you think about this and if you are against it you can sign this petition on change.org! Petition Link:https://www.change.org/petitions/google-change-the-youtube-comment-section-back-to-its-original-form So once again what are your opinions about this? It will be interesting to see:D Thanks Matthew.

Hey guys! Looking for some advice on some cameras. I do reviews and unboxings on my channel and I really need a new camera to up the quality of my videos. I'm on a pretty low budget, so keep that in mind. Don't really want too spend over £125. I've found 3 that don't look too bad but you'll know more than me and probably disagree. Samsung WB250F: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AXVYJGM/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=electronics Nikon L820: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1293005.htm Nikon P100: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-P100-Digital-Camera-Optical/dp/B0036WN2F4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Feel free to tell me out of the 3 I should get, or recommend others.

So I have a new idea for a potential thread of videos for Linus Media Group. When you guys do a review of a new video card, or CPU (really any piece of performance based hardware) you almost always end with "Choose the video card that fits your needs for the games and programs you use". Yet you only show us 1-3 games that we might play. Not only that we don't see a "building on" of these programs and games. What I would like: A thread of videos that makes computer builds for specific games. A good starting point would be "Computer build for StarCraft", then maybe "Computer build for League of Legends", and continuing on with other popular titles. We seen a small video on WatchDogs lately but it was also more about comparing different video cards too so it wasn't quite as specific as I would like to see. Maybe it could go like this: 1. StarCraft is a game that demands xxx from your machine. (tons of CPU horsepower) And it doesn't scale very well across many CPU cores, so high powered low number of cores would be a better option. (maybe even go in depth and say that StartCraft only uses 2 cores so getting anything more than a 3-4 core would be overkill and fairly pointless) 2. StarCraft really isn't that demanding of a game, so you might want to buy xxx accessories. Maybe instead of buying a GeForce 780Ti and a $10 USB mouse, get a 770 and a $50 programmable mouse (because StarCraft isn't going to do any better on a 780Ti vs a 770 because of other complications) and you will like having this flexibility and utility rather than the horsepower. ... ... ... 10. Then we get to a final PC build that runs StarCraft perfectly on a nice easy budget. Not only would this be a huge crowd to follow these videos, it would potentially open up new sponsorship opportunities that us as viewers would be excited about seeing.

Either I've just noticed it recently or I started experiencing micro shutter or lag on my windows 7(Yes i still use it and it still works) desktop. I found out while watching a video using VLC/MPC HC/Youtube on any browser, shutter was caused by “wallpaper slideshow transition” because the lag or shutter was interval. If i were to leave it with one picture it would be okay. Gaming & audio is not effected. Only when watching videos. It also occurs when I right click on desktop and click on “next desktop background,” I did a lot of googling and tried every possible solution (command prompt, refresh windows, updated GPU AMD) still no improvements. This never happened before or just I've never noticed it until now but I'd like a fix please Please help me fix this and thanks

Hey! About a year ago I got a Packardbell iXtreme I6525UK [Clicky for info] Anyway, after a year I got sick of it being so shoddy so sometime just after Christmas I started to upgrade it, New case, PSU, Cooler and most importantly GPU. So now its got the stock MOBO and i3 Processor 650W EZCool Digital Power Supply (Bought in shop) [Click] ASUS 650ti GPU (Bought of amazon, 2year warranty) [Click] Zalman Z11 Case /w x3 140mm Antec two cool fans [Click] and the stock WD 1tb HDD, DVD Drive and SD reader that came with the original PC. For the last 7 Months, the whole PC has been running a dream, Game graphics on High / Ultra, running really nice and smooth until the other day when I was playing Deadpool for the first time that it began to lag hard, I thought it was just the game, so I would tab out and back in then it would be good for another 15 Minutes, Process repeated itself until I got sick of it and began to watch some Breaking Bad, I climbed into bed then all of a sudden, ten minutes in, the video began to lag too! I thought it was a driver error? So I backed up everything and wiped my PC just because it needed it and once again, the same problem! I've opened up ASUS's GPU Tweak that came with the GPU and the GPU's Process shoots up to 99% Whenever this happens, I tested this against a video. So i've not a clue what's going on? Nothing in the case is over heating as the whole thing is sat at 30° Is it my GPU? Its only about 3 Months old? Any help is greatly appreciated!
