I'm having ideas about making contents for a youtube channel. I have a fresh youtube channel. But it doesn't have many subscribers. If I make a great series of videos about a good content in that fresh youtube channel, is there any chance to succeed in the community? or do I need to wait until I get at least fair amount of followers?

So I have been uploading videos for almost two years now I have just over 100 videos uploaded, and have a least uploaded once a week. I have been evolving my content and learning new techniques as I grow. If you compare some of my first videos to my heavily edited ones it's like night and day. I now have 46 subs and around 9400 video views, but I feel that I haven't been growing much for the amount of time I'm on there. I looked at other YouTube creators for advice and applied it, but I want to know what else I can do to grow my content or quality or my reach. Obviously I am doing something wrong. So if any of you guys have anything to give me I would like to know. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, and thank you in advance. Also I had a time where I did not upload videos for three months, Which could be a factor but there was also a time where I have been consistent for around a year.

So, I really want to make small videos for me and my friends but I CAN'T find a program that doesn't cost money, I'm really not asking for much here at all, All I want to do is literally just cut out parts of video and maybe put audio in the background, And I dont wanna pirate stuff because I'll probably get 50000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Different malware types and I'll feel guilty, Does anyone know a risk-free editing software that allows me to cut videos? Ik youtube has a built in one, But I feel like it's cluncky and I wanna do it BEFORE the video is posted. thanks!

When I play a GIF file, it often starts with black dots/areas on it, and then slowly turns normal. I have a GTX 1080, and I use Google Chrome as a browser. My drivers are up to date, and it's a new issue. I've tried to solve it by changing the "GPU rasterization MSAA sample count" to 16, which solved it for someone else, but it didn't work for me. Examples of the black areas are attached below:

so im trying to extract a image from a video at a specific time using FFMPEG and i have got this no such file or directory error. this is the first time im using ffmpeg and i have already check other sites where people had the same problem but none of the solutions worked. i have tried running the command by opening cmd from the directory itself and giving the videos name. i have also tried different video formats such as avi and mp4. i have also tried moving the video files to different directories, other disk drives and i have also tried running it by coping the video file to the ffmpeg directory and running cmd from there.it still didnt work. i have also tried running a different command which converts video files to mp3, in that also i get same error. i have attached a couple of screenshots and im out of ideas. i would be greatly appreciate if someone could point out any mistake i have done. thanks.

Hi there, For a long time i'm thinking about making YouTube videos about tech, but i tried to record my voice and quickly i found out that in my opinion my voice isn't really something to be in a video and i also found out that i have an extremely background noise and i did many attempts to fix this including with the help of many friends and we we're able to decrease the noice but it was still irritating loud, we tried many things like software, configurations and putting things in front of my pc in order to prevent my pc being the background noise. All of this didn't work so for a long while i was thinking to make videos WITHOUT recording my voice and just edit little text messages in the video in order to still explain the neccessary things to the viewer and prevent their ears from dying from my background noise. My question is the following, is it still relevant to make videos WITHOUT recording your voice in 2017 ? Already Thanks for all answers/responses. Greeting's from The Netherlands.

I've just got some clips for Rainbow Six Siege through shadow play, but when I insert the video into Premiere the audio and the video aren't in sync. This has just happened to me recently and I've never had a problem with it before. When I would open up the file in the Movies and TV application everything is in sync. The problem occurs when I transfer the files over to Premiere Pro. Can someone please help me out.

When you're watching a video and you have to pause it for whatever reason, you normally get linus or luke with a funny or weird face, so you can post them here for the world to see! I'll start:

Where the **** are the scrap yard videos? Or did i just waste 30 dollars on some highschool bullshit web forums?

@nicklmg @LinusTech Many of us on here are enthusiasts, and your forums and channels are great for that sort of thing. BUT I feel there is a whole chunk of the market that is being missed, for whenever I search for technology news related to businesses, well here are the top google results! As you can see there is a huge gap in the market, and I was wondering despite being an enthusiast Grade Media group,is there a whole new genre that could be looked into? one that creates a whole new channel for yourselves, with more opportunities down the line? and yes LMG you can have this idea for free! You see, IT Forums are pretty much all that System administrators in business has, and perhaps something Even a mini series of shows on the emerging technologies, and recommended practices, explaining the concepts and technologies, practices, and enterprise guides and how to's for things ranging from Active directory and group policy, through to server administration in "Bitesize" chunks and possibly even a whole new Business Tech shorts every couple of weeks? I mean you get the idea. and you have to admit there is a gap in the market there!! Do you think that could be worth a consideration?

I see people blurring or obscuring numbers and barcodes on labels from time to time. In an unboxing video of any PC parts, should I blur out certain numbers or things on the packaging? Should I remove labels? What are the risks of not "censoring" those things? What can someone do with those numbers?

I know there's been a lot of feedback on this but I couldn't find a specific thread on it, so I started one. Sorry if I missed a really obvious thread somewhere on the forum. Lately I've noticed that while LTT videos have gotten more professional, there are some videos I haven't found them as interesting as previous similar videos. TBH I like that LMG has grown and can create more professional videos so this is not an overt criticism of the change in direction, instead I just want to see how people feel about what I think has been the biggest change. So I was going through some old LTT videos and I realized what I think was missing in some of the newer videos, it's LINUS and/or LUKE. In a lot of the videos we get Linus' on-the-spot reaction to hardware/product as he experiences it, but in some of the newer videos that aspect is either reduced or all we get is a professional voice over. I've been following LTT from when it was run out of Linus' garage and I do it for Linus/Luke/Brandon/Taran/etc and their unique on-the-fly impressions on a product not for the more "professional" review style some of the newer videos seem to follow Best recent example I can think of are the videos on the drones (see below) , the one filmed in the warehouse is more enjoyable because we get Linus' reaction as he reviews it instead of the "boring" script reading he does in the second one. Both styles have their uses but I just prefer the on-the-spot feedback when possible and it seems that the more professional style has been used when we could have gotten a more "on-the-spot" style. The professional videos miss the energy and unique personality of the reviewers that could make the videos more enjoyable. Thoughts on this? or am I just the outlier? vs.

Wouldn't it be cool if Linus could do a series on the channel about building the best gaming pc with new parts for 300$ then 400$ ... until 1000$ ? I'm building my first budget pc and I think it would be really cool. Specially for people who(like me) are starting to get in the pc world but don't have a lot of money or expertise.

Would be lovely to see measurements in videos also in metric system. Not speaking it out loud, small labels should be enough.
-
So unless I missed a memo, idk why LTT stopped doing case, headset, etc reviews like in the kitchen set days. Honestly, id much rather watch a good review rather than most of the fill they have going now.

A lot of people are getting pissed off (for good reason) that Linus is not treating AMD products fairly. I know, it sounds stupid, and I used to agree - but there's some really notable things here. He isn't specifically bashing AMD but sort of pretending they don't exist, or pushing their tech under the rug. In the last week or so of videos, 3 things have stirred up controversy. The previous WAN Show ignored one of the biggest topics of the week, AMD's yearly major driver update, until after the outro (at which point it was half-arsed to say the least). The review of a Korean 100Hz FreeSync Curved Ultrawide monitor was done with an Nvidia GPU, there were 2 complaints about tearing and FreeSync was only acknowledged when reading the title of the product (and a terrible excuse was in the comments). In the most recent WAN Show, AMD's event showing a huge amount of Ryzen details and some Vega updates was discussed by mostly mocking the name and then talking about Thunderbolt in the new MacBook. There's a point where it just seems like some obvious avoidance of AMD products. Even if this is not deliberate, this sort of reporting is misleading - I'd hate to see the next 'fake news' debacle involve LTT. I'll elaborate on the 3 examples from the past week below with links and timestamps. Of course, on their own these aren't too significant, but considering there are now 3 examples in the last week that have got quite a few concerns, it's worth mentioning. 1. WAN Show ReLive: https://youtu.be/7oEpez1ruis?t=1h8m11s This update is AMD's yearly major update and a very good example of a discussion worthy topic for the WAN Show. They added a much better built-in zero-overhead recording thing (and separated from Raptr), added WattMann support to older cards and more. The show had quite a few questions about it in the Twitch chat. They were acknowledged after the outro, at which point Linus just mumbled some specs from the download page and ended with "There ya go, now we covered it." Watch the segment, it's the most half-arsed coverage of anything I've ever seen. 2. Cheap Korean Curved Ultrawide Monitor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vvdvjralvs This one is possibly the most damning. In this video, he takes a FreeSync monitor, says "You don't get the tearing resistance of GSync" (1m55s), uses an Nvidia GPU to test it (5m07s) and complains about tearing (5m50s). I've not facepalmed so hard in a while. Then in the comments, there's this lovely post: http://prntscr.com/di7bl9 Here he says no AMD GPU can run 100FPS on AAA titles so he wont and reviewed the monitor as if you used an Nvidia GPU with it. I shouldn't have to explain why this is bad reasoning (and why this should be explained in the video), but FreeSync is useful from 45FPS on this monitor, it offers higher refresh rates at lower resolutions, Furys can run games such as the tested CS:GO at that res no problem (which is what most people want them for) and there are countless other options like reducing the settings a little or just not running at 100FPS while testing that part of the monitor. It's also very clearly a monitor review, so he should test the features of said monitor, particularly since one would pair a cheap GPU with a cheap monitor. It's just such irrelevant reasoning, and there was a lot of flak for that given in response if you care to find the thread. 3. WAN Show RyZen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6Hugyu2CME In this video, he starts by covering the basics of Ryzen in the event which is fine, and then goes on to discuss the use of Thunderbolt (since it's an Intel-exclusive tech) and where it could be useful. I assumed at first the event would be returned to, but they moved straight on from it. There was no time given to discuss it, no mention of Vega, no mention of the surprisingly in-depth benchmarks they gave. The dislike bar shows this, as well as the top comments. This topic is by far the biggest of the week, but it was also glossed over and had an irrelevant Intel technology made the focus (as with GSync in 2). I really like this content, but please, start covering AMD products fairly. It's pissing off quite a few of your viewers and preventing you from being considered a trustworthy source. The comments on YouTube are filled with people annoyed about this. The thread for #2 is also filled with complaints: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/704937-microboard-korean-curved-ultrawide-100hz-gaming-monitor/?page=2 There was also a thread on the front page of r/PCMasterRace with some good discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/5hscps/linustechtips_has_been_showing_a_concerning_bias/
