Hello! I have a pair of Corsair HS40 headphones, and they broke. I have figured out, that the problem is in the cable. More specifically, the part where there is the volume control buttons and the mic button. I am thinking of replacing the cable. Can I use a regular USB data cable, or do i need to keep the volume controller box? And, by the way, the warranty is voided, because i physically broke them, and i have a lot of small damages on it, and the warranty is probably expired, because I bought them 2 years ago. Thank you!

Hey, I admit it, my game backlog of games I want to play is rather old. I still have PS2 games shrink-wrapped...but I got The Last of Us remastered on PS4 through PS+ for free. First 30 minutes made me bawl my eyes out. I've played maybe two hours. Story's pretty good. But I'm not a fan of stealth games. Assassin's Creed, Hitman, Metal Gear Solid...not my cup of tea. Closest thing to stealth I like is the Sniper Elite series of games. Is The Last of Us worth pushing through for the story, even if I'm not a fan of the stealth? Does the stealth mechanic get used more or does it stay about the same through the game?

Hey I am trying to get my parents to allow me to get Overwatch but it is "too violent" and "first person shooters desensitize you to violence and you will become a mass murderer" That is ridiculous but I understand why they think that. The instant my parents think of FPS they think of games like CS:GO, GTA5, Assassin creed and Call of duty which I think are terrible games(too violent and realistic and just a bad example for everyone). They think that it is too violent for my younger brother. i have played a lot of paintball, 50 hours of Tanki(dont judge) watched a few rated R movies and countless PG-13 movies(BTW the ESRB rating for Overwatch is teen and the Common sense media rating is 13+)Can I just get a thread of people to convince my parents that it is fine P.S I did show them the Common sense media page for Overwatch, my mom shut down when it said it was a FPS

So I just built a PC. When boot it up and played csgo on it, it felt really horrible like I'm walking on ice. At first I thought it was the internet connection but when I played other singleplayer games like Skyrim, Half life 2, DOOM, I still feel it. Could this be the case of input lag or hardware malfunction? I really need a mic. I can't take Skype calls or actually play video games. I've decided on Antlion's Modmic 4.0 (uni-directional). Thing is...I live in Canada, and NCIX is the only retailer that even carries the mic. And the muted unidirectional Modmic is out of stock. But the muteless one is in stock. So is it worth it? I really want to get a mic this weekend so that I can play video games with my friends. It's a $10 premium over the $55 muteless mic here in Canada, by the way.

So I just picked up Destiny again for the Xbox One(Still waiting for that PC port Bungie!). While the story is getting better with each new story campaign, what drives me to continue playing the game is the excellent gameplay AND the music. The question is, are there any games that have excellent music in the video games retro era (1982-1989), Neo-Retro(1990-1998) and the modern era(1999- 2006) and Neo-Modern(2007- Now) My top ten list for Neo-modern music: 1) Destiny 2) The Witcher 3 3) Black Mesa 4) Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim 5) Deus Ex: Human Revolution HM: Grand Theft Auto 5 HM: Metal Gear Solid 5

My current beats headphones are not very good for csgo. Like either I hear there on my complete left or right. The headphones don't give off where he should be. Then I would run out to see that my headphones told me wrong and I lost a round. What I mean is, the headphones tell me the terrorist is on my far left when really he is like half way left

So I've been a Halo fan for quite some time now and occasionally follow the competitive Halo scene (people like Walshy, for instance). I also follow certain YouTube channels for Halo-related content. I love LateNightGaming, for instance, Favyn, and others (not, this is NOT an ad for them, I'm just giving people resources in case they want to generously donate a little of their time to researching the background I am providing to generate relevant and well-researched answers). Now, I remember Walshy specifically mentioned in a video that back in the day, 2001, 2002, 2003 (maybe?) there was no Major League Gaming, no large official Halo tournaments that were national. Heck, Halo 1 didn't even officially support online play with the Xbox version unless you fooled your Xbox into thinking you were playing a LAN connection (which introduced lag and so forth). So what he did with his buddies from high school was this: he set up a website with forums of sorts so that other competitive-minded players could come together and play competitively against one another in LAN parties. High school vs. high school, so to speak. And he even got random other high schoolers to come over to his house and play Halo with him (obviously not a very safe move in retrospect). But his parents didn't know these people. "Oh, hi Mom, this is Dylan, he came over to play Halo with me." Something like that. Then, at some point or another, I guess all these teams got organized and generated the MLG we know today, with Halo being the number one game for a number of years. That's sadly not the case anymore, but that's the industry, I suppose. This story really was cool and interesting to me, but it gave me this idea: I would like to do this with other people today. You know, meet up with strangers (I suppose with a video chat or online gaming session filter before I let them come to my house, of course as a sort of interview) and play Halo games with them in big LAN parties. LAN parties are so fun! The Halo Waypoint forums are more game-theory oriented and you won't find interest for this sort of thing there, and I can't really find anything on supposed team-building websites, either. I'm not willing to go pro (not do I believe myself to possess the skill necessary to do that), so MLG forums are out of the question. So ultimately the point of all of those paragraphs up there was to ask: does anyone know of any websites (or I guess if there aren't any, local/state/national LAN tournaments) where I can get connected with other Halo players to participate in LAN parties with? Because I really want to experience that thrill and competitive spirit again. Thanks if you read all that text and want to provide a good answer! Also thanks if you provide a good answer while just reading the question! -V

MMOs are a genre of Games more recently that haven't shared the spotlight most recently with all the New video games news and other sorts of things related. I love talking about them and learning about whole new Worlds I can immerse myself into with large groups of people and tell a story and generally have a fun time. One MMO in particular that is my favorite is Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 is the second Game in the Guild Wars series. It is an MMO based in a Mythological era in which you can play an assortment of races and classes. There magical casters and the standard Bow and sword play characters as well with more weapons types such as rifles and pistols and sorts. This Game is such a fun experience for me I can spend hours nonstop playing. The Graphic design in the Game is absolutely beautiful and the Gameplay mechanics are so fluid and wonderful. The game is really a new experience on MMOs and deserves a lot of praise.

Whilst every once in a while universities are releasing studies, this study has me interested, as there hasn't been a related study for maybe about 2 years. Australian university RMIT says that playing video games enhances cognitive abilities as long as the games themselves aren't violent, the professor has said that teachers should incorporate them into how they teach. I at the moment do not really have an opinion, and this doesn't affect me much, but it would be interesting to see what might come out of this. Whilst the study says that using social media is a detriment to learning and might indicate that they are having trouble understanding the material and go on social media to socialise and ignore the more pressing issue. Now that might have an impact and we might see parents nagging teens to get off of facebook/twitter/etc and study. EDIT: Journal: http://ijoc.org/index.php/ijoc/article/view/5586/1742 I will attempt to get a copy of that study from the journal that it is being published in. Well, I may get some you're stupid comments, but I haven't been able to play my ps4 for a long long time because of unforeseen circumstances. Since Sony is supposedly supposed to announce the PS4.5 obviously this one is gonna be obsolete. I can trade it to gamestop for 200 dollar credit and I just bought a used "old" 3ds not even a week ago so I still might be able to take it back or sell it on ebay or something get it off my hands which will be sufficient enough for the new 3ds anyways pretty much just for pokemon have Omega Ruby and sun/moon is coming out later this year! What does people think?

Original Source: http://games.mxdwn.com/news/rumor-nintendo-to-discontinue-original-ds-cartridges/ There are rumors that the original ds/dsi cartridges will be stopping production later this year for possibly focusing more on the NX console, TBA (To Be Announced). Also co-asides with the news, more rare/ less produce games are coming back in large stock before it will be stop in production all together. However this does not affect 3DS/New 3DS cartridges at this time but the DSware Shop will close at March 31, 2017 following along with this news. Nintendo is already starting not repair original DS consoles due to limited parts but this hasn't been the case for the refreshed DSi consoles just yet but we can see a following with that as well in the upcoming months. These are steps also for the NX console and it will be more interesting to see what to come upon the release of the NX console. Also it had been talked about since the virtual Wii U shop has been starting to port DS games even though the general public could still buy these games for the original console. Also the DS/DSi, even with declines on sales and no longer supported and shipped by Nintendo, still being sold today on stores. So hopefully the NX is bright and the DS/DSi had a good long run.

Hey guys, I've been playing an older game called Titan's Quest lately and in the options there is this thing called "triple buffering" which I understand the basics of (double vs triple buffering) and I generally understand what VSync does, but I'm wondering what the optimal settings are for me, and when I would need/want to use these settings. As of right now, I have a 5820K and a GTX 980 playing at 1080p with a 144 Hz monitor. I've gotten the idea that VSync here is fine because the 980 easily gets over 144 Hz, so capping it at 144 using VSync is a "decent" option with little to no detriment to performance. I'm wondering now whether I should enable triple buffering as well, and I've Googled it but I can't find a definite answer about what configuration works best. If someone could explain the benefits/cons of VSync and triple buffering and when I would want/not want to use them, I would greatly appreciate it.

Nintendo's patent's claim include: A console may physically, wirelessly, and/or net based connect to one or more other devices with one or more processors to assist with computing. There will bitcoin mining like compensation system for use in a sort of cloud p2p gaming system. The cloud p2p gaming system will route traffic based on latency. This patent has many interesting claims. They either indicate that you can hook your new 3ds and/or older consoles into your nx, or you can stack nx up to the ceiling and hope for 4k support. The vague cloud compensation system either indicates: you getting trophies/mii clothes/ect for the random number of times your nx is called to the cloud, there will be a freemium lottery based net usage system where it's pay to play online or collecting phantom system use tokens, or you get store credit for the phantom use of your nx. I have no idea if this indicates scalable power or a cheap system with duct taped legacy/network support. Tell what everyone thinks and here's a link to the patent and a video about this. http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=8&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=Nintendo.AANM.&OS=AANM/Nintendo&RS=AANM/Nintendo

Hi! I'm doing an essay in English about how Video Games are better for us that most people seem to think and I wanted to use the point: Video Games have helped me, and many others develop their understanding of computers. And I wanted to make sure that it was actually true, so that's why I'm posting here. It's a poll to ask you guys, Have Video Games helped you better understand computers? Thanks to all of you that help me by voting in this poll - thechez99 (P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong place or is repetitive, mods)

I've had this problem for quite a while and I've looked all over the internet for a solution, but I just have absolutely no idea what is causing it and if it can be fixed or not. Here's a video of the stuttering I enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZNO0WIwf0s As you can see, whenever it stutters, the CPU activity drops down a lot. If I have only two cores on affinity, one core will be active, drop down when it stutters and then the other core will start working. I have the most experience from WoW and it stops after I've looked at everything and pushed every button, but only for a while. Then it starts stuttering again. Raids are a nightmare. Here is a VoD from my stream where you also can see it. http://www.twitch.tv/yarvaxea/v/19701412 I've tried reinstalling windows, different versions of windows, with or without updating it, on different harddrives and SSDs. I've performed memory tests, CrystalDisk tests, Prime95, all clear. I've tried this thing with disabling High precision event timer, but it did squat. Stumbled upon this method http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=28807232#post28807232 and it says it improved performance, but I couldn't notice any difference. I have my power plan set on high performance so my cores are not being parked. I also keep an eye on the speed so it doesn't throttle down. I have tried to run the process on higher priority and set affinity to only one core. The latter seemed at first to work, but not when a lot of stuff is happening, then it's lagging and stuttering even more. My temperatures are all good in the 50s on load. I have disabled all of the power saving features in the BIOS, I've also updated the BIOS. DPC Latency Checker frequently hits in the yellow, but mostly in the green. I sit on a gigabit connection with <10ms latency. I've also tried to disable the audio drivers that I don't need, no change. I've replaced every single cable I have inside the computer. I've also ran without an anti-virus software. The stuttering seems to happen when I load in new areas or turn the camera really quick. Sometimes it stutters every time I pick up an item or get buffed etc in WoW, it definitely increases in frequency when the computer is under heavy load like when I'm streaming a 40-man raid. I'm fairly sure it's hardware related because even if I only have the drivers installed, it will still stutter. I just want to know what component to replace. It's just odd that every diagnostic program I can throw at it comes up with no errors what so ever. It also happens outside games, like when dragging a window between my monitors or pressing the Windows key. My specs: AMD FX-8350 @ stock with Corsair H100 cooler. Temps at 55 on full load Asrock 990FX extreme3 AMD HD7850 @stock, Temps at 55-60 on load Crucial C300 SSD as bootdrive and game location 2x4 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W PSU Does anyone have any ideas? This is painful to play.
