My GPU (R9 270) has been causing my PC to crash. The monitor will freeze up with some grey screen or something, (it's a different pattern every time) and the audio will get stuck. The only way I can get rid of the screen is by restarting my PC. This has been a problem for several months. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't like this when I got it, because I would've reported it then. It crashes when I'm doing just about anything. Just doing simple tasks like browsing the web, watching a video, ect., it will crash. I've noticed that when I play games like CS:GO and H1Z1, it doesn't crash. Strictly when I'm in game on CS:GO though; if I'm in a lobby or at the main menu it will crash, but it never crashes while I'm actually in the game. It does crash while I'm in-game on Garry's Mod though. I know it's the graphics card because it's fine when I take it out, and I tried it in another PC and it crashed in about 10 minutes.

I recently finished building my first budget pc with an i5-7500 and i found out i made a big mistake by not ordering a gpu. Now because of the mining craze i'm stuck with the intel 630 graphics (which are actually pretty decent). I'm wondering on how long will it last and what prices are gonna resurface. Also any recommendation on what video card to buy for the time being to later replace.

So I saved up for what seems like an eternity and finally had enough to build my first PC. I ordered an ASUS 27" 1440p Gsync monitor, and ordered a 1080 to drive this badass monitor. I ordered parts from different websites to get the best prices, and everything else arrived last week and this week. I built the PC yesterday, leaving only the GPU to add to it when it arrived today. No sign of the GPU! And according to the courier tracking, it was still at the national depot. I live in Ireland so the depot is in Athlone in the middle of the country, and is then transported to a regional depot before delivery. I called them this morning, and they said it had been transported to the regional depot and had just not been scanned yet. I should receive it today. They gave me the number of the regional depot which I called. They said they didn't have it, and that all the parcels they were due to get were out on delivery. They gave me the delivery driver's number just in case, and he didn't have it. I called the first number again (customer services), and explained the whole situation, and they have confirmed that the parcel is lost and will conduct an internal search for it. They took a description of the GPU box and it's value from me...€650! They said they will call me as soon as they know anything. I am so pissed off!!! I called them again this afternoon to follow up and here they tell me it could take 5 days to conduct the search!!!! Now it's the weekend too so it's going to be another week... More than likely the GPU has been stolen. Things like this just don't go missing... It came from the Czech Republic but it definitely arrived in Ireland because it was scanned. So it's going to take 5 days for the search, I'll probably need to get another GPU - so they will need to claim off their insurance, order another GPU (if they are in stock!!!!! - they are hard to get atm...) wait for that to arrive. Install everything. Download Battlegrounds over several days because my ISP has a 20GB per day download limit (I have no choice because of where I live). Then.....THEN...I will be happy.

Edit: price went up to $430, but still in stock. In a world of inflated video card prices, the GTX 1070 can command a price north of $500. Often $600 can be spotted. That said Dell has what is now a hot deal on a PNY GTX 1070 at a pre-May 2017 price. It's now $404.99, or $25 off its original $430 list price. Dell had two "normal" GTX 1060 cards last week and Radeon RX 580 and RX 570... all those are sold out. Only this GTX 1070 at a reasonable price remains. PNY GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 Video Card — $404.99 $429.99 (list $430)

The problem I am having started 2 days ago randomly. Little bit of history before I mention the problem. Computer is roughly 2 years old. On it's second CPU since the first one faulted and had to be replaced (on Intel thankfully). I recently (within the last few months, don't remember when) overclocked said new CPU to 3.9 Ghz @ 1.28V (maybe, I don't remember the voltage exaclty), up from 3.3, has been running just fine ever since. Graphics card has not been OC'd ever. On to the problem... The other day I was playing and older game called Day of Defeat: Source (not by any means a graphical giant) when suddenly my screens went grey and orange (one grey, one orange) and I got caught in a sound loop. I had to hard restart my machine. In the process, I lost my CPU overclock and RAID configuration which in turn caused me to lose all my games, not that big a deal. I ended up skipping fixing the RAID right away and wanted to investigate. I opened up event viewer, and as you can see from the attached screens, it was flooded with errors, most of them reading the same message (something about application 'whatever' has been blocked from access graphics hardware) with the exception of the first few reading that the nv yadda yadda driver has stopped working and recovered successfully (clearly false). Seeing this, first thing I did was remove the drivers completely. I used DDU to accomplish this and even went in and deleted the driver number folders still in the C:/whateverpathitis/NVIDIA. Thinking that this fixed the problem, I reconfigure my RAID, installed a couple of games and began to play them with no problem (yesterday - 8 July 17). I tested a wide variety of games, PUGB, Rocket League, Day of Defeat Source, Neverwinter. Today however, I was playing Rocket League yet again, in a comp game, when my PC did the exact same thing as before. Only this time, I didn't lose my RAID configuration upon hard reset. I did find that for some reason event viewer did not register the driver crash nor did it pick on the sudden power loss to the system. At the time of the first incident I had Precision XOC running and my GPU clock was no where near max and the temps were sitting at a cool roughly 50C. I am at a loss here as to how to fix this problem. Has anyone come across this before / found a fix that didn't require a complete system reinstall? Hi everyone, So I had an 1050TI laying around and I want to put it in my HTPC but I can't make it work. According to PCPartPicker the 1050TI should work with my mobo (AM1H-ITX) and my CPU (AMD Athlon 5350 APU). Bios is up to date, all the drivers and firmware I can download are downloaded and installed, primary video output in the BIOS is PCI. Anyone had this issue with a similar hardware config and was able to fix it or have any idea on how to fix this? Hardware: GC: Zotac 1050TI OC CPU: AMD Athlon 5350 MOBO: Asrock AM1H-ITX PSU: Thermaltake TR2 430W Software: OS: Windows 10 P.S. Thanks in advance, and i know it's old hardware (beside GC) it's for a HTPC, not for gaming, it's for streaming,

Thanks to Crytpo mining we live in a world of $500+ GTX 1070's, $400+ GTX 1060's, and more inflated video card prices. Dell must have received a shipment from PNY and VisionTek, because their video cards are at normal list prices. They probably won't last. Update: The RX 580 and 570 sold out. In July of 2016, I purchased the Rx- 480 because of all the hype that was associated with it's name. For the (almost) year that I have been playing on it, occasional blackouts on my screen would occur for a split second. There was no turning turning off of my fans for the split second that this occurred. This all continued until one day, the entire computer just shut down. I could not get anything to be shown on the screen, so I plugged in the HDMI plug into my i5 6500. Upon plugging this in, a \Bcd error code presented itself in the "Blue screen of Death." I fixed this issue by entering the command prompt and entering a series of commands. After this issue was resolved, I plugged out the HDMI cord from my CPU and plugged it into my GPU, still receiving no display. Everything else worked fine when graphics were based on my CPU, but when I attempt to even turn on the PC, it still fails to display anything. However, once my computer is off and I unplug my HDMI cord from my Rx- 480, my monitor detects that a loss of connection occurs and thus displays "No connection" but if I plug the cord back into my GPU, the monitor turns on to display "No Signal." During my attempts to enter my computer with my graphics card, I found out that sometimes turning off my computer by the power button on the case would be delayed and once it turns off, a short burst will occur with all the fans turning on for less than a split second, and in some cases may even turn on again. Please help! Thanks

I used to have 2 monitors one trough hdmi on my video card and the other trough vga on my motherboard, but when i changed my motherboard for new cpu i no longer have vga. So i found an old GeForce 210 (main video card is gtx 1060) that has vga and i am trying to display my second monitor on there but i am running in to some problems. When i go to Device Manager it does detect the 210 and it also says that the latest drivers are installed but when i look for it in nvidia control panel i can't see it. If i go to properties on the 210 it says :"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I tried looking up some things but couldn't really find anything. -EDIT Second monitor only has VGA

My MSI GTX 1050 ti 4G OC's fan runs when I plug it into the PCIE x16 slot, and it shows up on my computer, but in-game, nothing happens, it runs as fast as my onboard graphics. Also, when I turn off onboard graphics in BIOS when the card is supposedly "working", the display cut off. Please help. So currently I've been using the integrated graphics from my AMD A6-6400K and I have been looking into getting a video card. I've been considering the 1050 or the 1050 ti, but I'm not sure if I should get the 1050 and get 8 more GB of DDR3 (so I would have 16 GB) or just get the 1050 ti. Also, I'm looking into a new APU because the one I have now is dual core. FM2+ socket type, less than $100. Please give me your thoughts.

First off for this question the build for the computer is a white build. I recently watched the review on by hardwarecanucks and would like to know if I should get a Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6bg dual video card or a Asus Radeon RX 480 4GB dual video card. If there are any other video cards that are white or are able to be customized to be white please let me know. Thanks to whoever helps.

Ok so I got out my trusty 3d mark, and my gtx 980 ti hybrid gets 5500 ish, the evga gtx 1080 8gb gets like 7000 the evga titan (X) 6gb gets like 3100 and the gtx titan z 12gb card only gets 4400 ish, so my question is why can't a titan z 12gb beat a 1080 easily? did I do something wrong? have 1000watt psu, 64gb ram x99 asus board 5960x, with Samsung 950, any experts tell me whats up with that? I did download all the NVidia drivers, so I know that was right, seems like the titan z should be the fastest, but it is not, definitely tell the difference for gaming.. IRL

Hello forum, this is my first post over here and my first time upgrading my pc. I'm having a little problem with the compatibility of my components My sistem consists of a psu sfx-500 500W from sfx technology a motherboard a55fm2-dgs from asrock an apu A10 5800k from amd a gpu RadeonHd 6450 from xfx 2 sticks of kingston 4 gb ddr3 ram and a 1Tb hard drive from western digital a couple of weeks ago i decided it was time to upgrade and decided to start from the gpu wich seemed to be the thing dragging my sistem down the most, so i bought a spphire nitro+ radeon rx 480 8gb gddr5. for this i needed to upgrade my psu to something with an 8 pin pcie connector and 500W as minimun acording to the results given from cooler master's psu calculator. after a long search i finally found a psu thaty would fit my tower(150 width , 200 depth, 85 heigth) max, i belive that is an standar atx , but im not really sure. it is a sentey sty60-ps (that is what the psu says, but i've only found it as bxp600) however, i've been recently told that this psu delivers about 70%of the sold power so i wasn't so sure if an adaptor from 6 pin to 8 pin would work well with my array. should i try to get another one with two pcie 6pin connectors or use this to power my rx480 and an adaptor?

Hi. I have a old Gigabyte 7600 and it works...kinda.... Well there doesn't seems to be anything visible on the board that is damaged but the image doesn't look right. There are missplaced pixels or missing pixels. You can still see kinda clear but it doesn't look good. What might be the problem ? I know it is a old video card but I want to put some more years in it, for fun.

Suddenly screen became black. I shut down pc and it still the same. I thought it is about Windows(?). I scanned disk and format. I opened in safe mood. I removed the rams, reset the bios but it didn’t help. I thought it is hardware and i attached the video card to second PCI slot. It opened. (It opened after format but, when i install video driver, it became black screen again interestingly.)Both of slots are the same condition. I am thinking it is about motherboard but i am doubtful. Video card defect must be the problem too. Now, the problem is from PCI slots or my video card? How can i test PCl slots? How can i learn video card is defected or not? I have not another video card or motherboard. GPU-z shows me that video card is attached and system information too. Video card is working but it doesn’t display.
