Hi, I have an old Dell Precision T3400 that I got for free. I would like to turn it into a gaming PC. I have already ordered 8GB RAM and a Q6600 CPU. I need advice on what Video card to get for it. Here are some of my concerns: 1. Power: A. There is only one 6 pin power connector. B. The Dell power supply in it is only 375 watts. 2. Space: A. The plastic thing around the heatsink might be in the way. B. Below the top PCI-E slot there is a RAID/SAS controller that I would like to keep. C. At the bottom of the case is where the hard drives mount and in the front there is a fan for the HDDs and PCI-E devices. D. I might only limited to low-profile Video cards so i don't think a GTX 1070 sized-card will fit. 3. Budget: I only have $50 to $65 to spend on a GPU. I am willing to use pre-owned hardware. Below is some pictures of the inside of my case to let you get a better understanding of what I am working with. And by the way, the 8400GS already in it HAS TO GTFO!

So I saved some money and got some for Christmas. I plan on getting a new Video Card since I just upgraded everything else recently. I currently have a Radeon R9 290, and my CPU is a Ryzen 1700x that I have overclocked to 3.8ghz. I have an ultrawide, 2560x1080, 75hz freesync monitor. I know it would be really overkill for a 1080p monitor but I had planned on buying a 1080ti if I had enough; which I currently don't but I will once I get my next paycheck. I currently have enough to buy just about anything else, a 1080, 1070ti. I wanted to know what you guys would recommend. I just would like to be able to run everything on ultra at nice and high FPS, and would like it to be somewhat future proof. I was also thinking that sometime in the near future I would save up for a VR headset, so I would like to be ready for that as well. Thank you guys and Merry Christmas!

Howdy everyone, first off want to say thanks to everyone for helping me in the past but here I am, one more time. Currently I am using: Mobo: Asus TUF Sabertooth 990FX 3.0 CPU: AMD FX8370 (Running at 4.334 gigs, no overclock) CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster V8 GTS Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro ((4 x 8) 32 gigs) SSD: Samsung EVO 850 Pro (512 gigs) Video: AMD Radeon R7 260x (1 gig VRam, no overclock) OS: Windoze 10 Home BIOS and all drivers up-2-date, no problems. Great, now that I got that out of the way, here's the deal. I know that my video card belongs in the spare parts box but I can't put it there just yet because I'm still using it. With the Xmas season right around the corner I have been looking at NewEgg for a replacement. I figure for what I do (browsing the news, LTT forums, youtube, and an occasional fight on World of Warcraft that I don't need anything real fancy but I do know that an upgrade would really help a bunch. Oh yea, I do watch a LOT of movies on my machine as I have a 2T HDD full of movies. The major complaint with my current card is that when watching some movies, the background in the pic gets these little square boxes all over it and the pic basically goes out of focus for a few seconds. What I have been looking at are the Geforce 1060 line of cards. I see where most of them have either 3 or 6 gigs of VRam and as they say, more is better, but I'm trying to stick within a $250 budget if at all possible so it looks like 3 gigs is it. I have not been able to figure out the difference between the Radeon RX and the GeForce line of cards so if someone with more experience than I have could possibly help me out if finding the right card I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you like to keep your old hardware? Do you have any eVGA video cards laying around your house? If you do and happened to own an eVGA GeForce4 MX440 with the ACS cooler or eVGA GeForce4 Ti 4400 and 4600 with the ACS2 cooler, then eVGA will be happy to take those cards from you. In return they will give you $1,000 of their digital currency which is equal to $1,000 USD, where you can then buy new parts for your PC through their online store. https://www.evga.com/articles/01177/evga-christmas-miracle/

So I'm having a problem with my monitor/PC atm.. I had just turned on my pc when the screen suddenly went black and white. I tried restarting the computer, but it didn't work. I then tried to connect the pc to another monitor, but that had the same problem. I have also tried reinstalling the drivers several times, with no result. Maybe you guys could give a helping hand? Thanks in advance

Hey LTT, Been getting the itch to upgrade my machine or do a system rebuild or something, you know how it is. My current specs are as follows: CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i Motherboard MSI X99A Gaming Pro Carbon Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200MHz C16 (Though I cannot get it to run at 3200, funny set of errors when I try so for now 2133) Storage: Samsung 850 Pro 1TB GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX PSU: EVGA 1200 P2 I'm really mostly looking to get a new board and chip if I upgrade and perhaps an SSD, was eyeballing the Intel Optane 900P's. Does anyone have any thoughts? I mostly game so my video card is pretty much as good as I can get it for now. I like having a processor capable of handling lots while also keeping my per core performance as high as I can. What can you suggest? A new build is not out of the question but I want to make sure I get a real upgrade if I do.

Hi, I've recently purchased a Dell Optiplex 760 and a Core 2 Quad q6600 (because I'm original) and I was wondering what budget used graphics card would work/be good for the old thing. I'm planning on doing some gaming on it, and once I build my new Ryzen 3 system early next year, using it to run a Minecraft server.

So I've had a SFF Build project going on for a while and I've hit a bit of a road block. I want a portable monitor that I can take with the computer that is 1920x1080 IPS and good quality. I want to be able to run it off of my video card however this requires a display cable to run to the monitor in question. GeChic makes such a monitor but its pricey as hell. ASUS and other companies make the right panels but they are type C. My motherboard has a type C port, but I cant find a way to transfer the signal out through the PCI-E lanes to use DP over Type C. However I did find this adapter. Does anyone know weather or not it would be possible to use this to connect to this asus portable monitor? To clarify: the dongle would go into the monitor and the type c cable to a power source (probably the computer's type c port) and the display port would be hooked up to the graphics card. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812399145&cm_re=Usb_c_to_display_port-_-12-399-145-_-Product https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-MB169B-1920x1080-Portable-Monitor/dp/B01C83BE06/ref=pd_sim_147_10?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=E2BWZXHAAF466M70NX3K&th=1

video card rx460, Sapphire rx 460 4gb no display while boot
david97 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
So I recently bought a sapphire rx 460 4gb, and it didn't seems to work. So I went back to the store, and it worked perfectly. In my build, it's working, but only turns in, when the windows is fully loaded. It isn't a problem in regular using, but for eg. to reinstall windows, I have to change the video card to another one, witch is working without a loaded windows. I using an intel core 2 q8300 processor (LGA755), in an asrock p45x3 delux motherboard. I very appriciate every kind of help!- 3 replies

I've been running around for about 3 months trying to figure why under certain circumstances my gpu and sometimes psu make an electrical buzzing noise. I've taken it various pc shops and swapped every part about 3 times (except the ram and cpu) and I still get the exact same noise under the exact same circumstances (even at low fps). So now I'm starting to wonder, is it normal for a gpu to buzz when it's pulling a lot of power? It's not massively loud unless the case is open so I'm not sure now if it's a normal thing. Here is a video of the sound with the case open: https://youtu.be/4MHSuh4IeoE And I'm 100% certain it cant be coil whine as I have changed gpu and psu and mobo all about 3 times. Thanks for any info.

Hello, I am very novice when it comes to building and am building my very first gaming PC. I've purchased about 4 parts now and just want to know what the community thinks would be best for the build. I'll let you know all the parts I have and then go in to parts I'm thinking about purchasing, I just want to know if these are good enough parts, and if you have recommendations to stay in the general price range. Here's the parts I currently have: Case: Corsair Spec-02 ATX case: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139043&cm_re=corsair_spec_02-_-11-139-043-_-Product MOBO: MSI B350 Gaming pro m-atx: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813144019&cm_re=msi_b350_gaming_pr-_-13-144-019-_-Product EVGA 500w Power Supply: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA7HN50K6623&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= Optical Drive: Asus DRW 24B1ST: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= And here are the some of the components I'm looking to possibly purchase: GPU: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137018&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= CPU: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113445&cm_re=ryzen-_-19-113-445-_-Product I know I have to purchase more such as HDD, SSD, etc. I do not plan on overclocking that much, just here and there if I can. I would just like to know what the community thinks about this, and if I'm doing it right. lol. Thanks for all the help!

Currently the video card market is all weird but all i play at is 1080p and i want a good video card for that not over kill like the gtx 1080. What would you recommend to do wait for Volta?
