I am having issues with my partial new build. I have replaced a 1070, i5 7600k and MSI Z270 SLI Plus with a 3070, 5800x and B550 Vision D. I have kept the original RAM which is Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R. On boot the error codes go through a bunch of different combinations before settling on 3b for a few seconds, then going to F2 and the F9. It then switches to F2 for about half a second before going back to F9. I have tried clearing CMOS, testing each RAM stick individually, and before I started the build I flashed the latest BIOS from the mobo website (F11). All fans spin up and keep that way. GPU has the LED on the side lit up and spins up the fans for a few seconds on startup before they spin down again, so I wouldn't see the GPU as a problem. Please help! Thanks! EVGA supernova 750b bronze Doesn't have enough vga ports?
andtechie posted a topic in Power Supplies
I currently run a gtx 980, which uses 2 6+2pin pcie's I found another 980 for $100. Anyway I want to SLI, But I can't help but notice I can only Fit 3 VGA cables into the power supply. The rest are ' Perif?' I did notice I can insert the 6+2 pin into a perif 6 slot. But then the other end of the cable is locked at 8 pins. How do you normally go about it? It is a decent power supply, But I just need to somehow get it add another VGA 6 pin so i can have 4 total Vga connecters to run these cards. Thanks! Hope that makes sense.- 12 replies

I recently acquired this Seanix s-15sm02 15 in CRT VGA monitor. Seanix was an old Vancouver BC based company that sold computers and things. I am looking for more information about Seanix and especially about this mystery port on the back of the monitor next to the VGA cable. Is this some sort of input? Like a RGB input or svideo or composite input that would have had an adapter cable? Any info is greatly appreciated. Only info I could find was it might be closely related to an sampo alphascan 520. Thanks!

Hey guys. I'll buy GTX 1650 Super in a few days and I want to use it with my old VGA only monitor over HDMI to VGA active adapter. Is it gonna work? I read something like "new modern GPUs can't work together with old monitors 'cause of them drivers." I mean, I know it will decrease the refresh rate and maybe quality a bit but it's okay for me. So, it would be awesome if you'll help me out. Peace

I have recently bought a HRR CRT monitor and while I have an ancient machine with VGA out that can run it at up to 160Hz, I would like to be able to use it with modern devices. I have looked around and can only seem to find adapters that limit the output to 1080p60. Before someone can say "but VGA only supports 60Hz!" like I have seen on other threads, this is simply not true and makes little to no sense when considering it is (for the most part) governed by the devices on either end of the cable. I also have physical proof as it works fine on a system over two decades old at this point. Anyways, here is what I have to work with - Outputs: HDMI 2.0 (14.40 Gbit/s) DP 1.4 (25.92 Gbit/s) Bandwidth Required: 3.72 Gbit/s (1600x1200 @ 75Hz) 3.52 Gbit/s (1024x768 @ 160Hz) These two modes are exposed by the monitor, so it is not a question of whether it can handle it or not. They both fit within the proper pixel clock rate too. So... are they out there - at least some under $100? Any help to source one of these mystical adapters that allows for modes like this would be greatly appreciated.

>Greetings. The following happened and I’m running out of ideas and solutions, I need help from the PC gods here. First of all my spec list: Ryzen 9 3900X Nvidia RTX Titan MB Gigabyte x570s AERO G Phanteks Revolt X PH-P1000PS Platinum 1000 watts 64GBs of RAM Gskill ripjaws at 3200 mhz with XMP CL16 (x4 16GB sticks) x2 M.2 WD_Black SN 850 NVMe x4 Samsung 860 EVO SSDs x2 Seagate Barracuda HDD Both GPU and CPU are water-cooled in a custom loop DDC low noise pump 520 mm in radiator space x2 120mm and x3 140mm fans x2 Phanteks neon rgb strips (and Evolv X included RGB) Windows 10 and POP OS dual boot. My PC has been running alright for a couple of years until Monday. I was working as usual when I opened a hangouts call. Audio connected (I could hear everybody) but right before getting into the video room my screen froze. The audio was running and the mouse was still moving. After waiting for a couple of minutes and trying to get to task manager or alt-f4, I decided to do a hard reset (video still frozen). Right before that happened, mouse pointer froze and I noticed video artifacts on the screen, small purple bars evenly spread in various columns. PC rebooted and I could not get video anymore, not even a splash screen, no BIOS, no post. I noticed the VGA status led was on. I tried a few more hard resets, checked display and power cables, still no luck. This is what I’ve tried so far, nothing has worked yet. Reset GPU on it’s socket, unplugged PCIE power cables took out all ram sticks, retried with just one changed DP and HDMI cables Tried on several different monitors unplugged all 5V RGB LED strips reset and cleared CMOS plugged GPU without power connectors, just PCIe After this I started testing with other components. I got an Nvidia MSI geforce 210 (I know XD it’s a cereal box GPU but it’s just for debugging). I tried the small gpu on all PCIe slots and none got video output. Vga LED was on all the time. This GPU is 100% confirmed to work elsewhere. I tried testing on another MB. I took my CPU and the 210 gpu and they worked on a MSI B550m Mortar. It did post and setup into the BIOS, however there was something unusual. The GPU would only work if it was on the second PCIe slot, the one that goes to the chipset. It wont do anything on the first socket and the vga led (on the b550 Mortar) will light up. Does this mean CPU problems? No matter how many times I tried, the GPU won’t work on the main PCIe slot. Back to the Gygabite x570, nothing works. Not even on the chipset PCIe slots (this is what made think it was a MB problem initially). Confirmed that neither the 210 nor the Titan output any video, VGA led is always on. What could be the problem? What is potential solution, and how could this happen in the first place? The system has been running alright for months I don’t know what caused all this mess. It’s always clean, no OC. Tomorrow I will try testing everything again with a Ryzen 7 3700X and a GTX 1070 to try and locate the failing component. Fingers crossed, my Titan is alright… Thanks so much for your attention.

I own 2 dvi/vga only analog displays. I also own a 3060ti and a 1060. Currently, I'm using the 1060 as a pass-through card, but I think that keeping my 3060ti in the second slot and passing the signal through the 1060 is making it run weird. My question is, what kind of converters would I have to buy to ditch the 1060? I'm currently using 2 DVI to HDMI adapters, but they are dummy adapters, and they just pass the signal through without converting, Replacing the displays would be pretty expensive so that's not really an option. Many thanks.

Good day! I would like to install an AIO onto my GPU because I live in a hot country. Whenever I'm gaming my side panel is too hot and I can't afford a new GPU at the moment. However, my GPU doesn't have a heatsink on MOS?. I saw someone on YouTube who didn't have a heatsink on MOS but still used this AIO. Is it safe to use it? I've heard of pc wake issues with having two monitors with different connections to the PC. Which of these combos would be the best/have the least issues? - 1x VGA, 1x DP - 1x VGA, 1x HDMI - 1x DVI-D, 1 x HDMI - 1x DVI-D, 1x DP My graphics card has 3x DP, 1x HDMI, and 1x DVI-D. The monitor I'm looking to add has 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x D-sub, 1x HDMI 1.4. The current monitor only has 1x DVI-D and 1x VGA. Thanks!

Hi, My desktop will start when I hit the power button, the lights turn on, fans start spinning, all is good but it doesn't boot. My motherboard has 4 small LED's and it gets stuck on the one that says VGA. If I then hit the reset button the PC boots just fine. I keep my GPU drivers up to date and just installed a fresh SSD and a fresh Windows install. The SSD replacement had something to do with another problem but the bootup problem is still there. PC Specs: CPU: Intel Pentium Gold G6405 4.1GHz 4MB Desktop Processor Motherboard: MSI B460M PRO-VDH WiFi ProSeries Motherboard (mATX, 10th Gen Intel Core, LGA 1200 Socket) SSD: Lite-On 128GB Sata m.2 SSD GPU: (optional): NVIDIA NVS 310 I am trying to install Windows on this system, but there is no display when I use HDMI (I have tried two different cables that were working fine before this). There is a message on the Computer Monitor that say "Input Not Supported" I tried installing NVIDIA NVS 310 graphics processor and used an DisplayPort to HDMI adapter but still no display. I thought that might get around the issue, but that still didn't work. The strange part is that I tried using a VGA cable - and that works normally. Monitor has a visible display. Why would nothing work with an HDMI cable? Can this be fixed?

Welll...I've heard a lot of rumors about these two vga, and can't decide which one I should choose. My spec right now is AMD 5 2600, 16gb of RAM DDR4 26666, 3 fans and a broken PSU, but the thing is which one i should go: AMD + AMD is good? or just AMD CPU + NVIDA CPU with my spec above with those usage. I probably playing a lot of games and streaming, editing just a little bit. Is there any significance differences because in my country their price gap is nearly 200$ and that's alot, and I don't want to pay more for having something with the same performance at the same price. Tks for helping !!!

Well...My pc just broke down after 2 years. Yesterday, while I was playing games, the monitor just turned off and the fan on the vga or the cpu ran at maximum speed (which normally I set them on balance), the fan got so loud that even when I played Elden Ring, it didn't make those loud noise. After I checked the cable from the PSU, the PC just shut down immediately, I tried to reset but it was useless, not even a sign, but the electricity still in the case ???. My PSU just suck, the brand is Aerocool, in the E or F tier, and i'm plan on replacing a new one but I want to have a new graphic cards in the future like the rtx 3060 or the rx 6600, so maybe around 650W is enough or I can get lower like 550W? cuz My pc case is quite small so there's no way it gonna fit a 3 fan rtx 3060. BTW is it better to get a high B tier 550W or a low D tier 650W PSU cuz... I don't know if it's gonna fried my vga and other parts of the pc or not. Tks for helping!! My pc specs: AMD ryzen 5 2600, b450 motherboard, 16gb ram, gtx 1650, 3 fans, 500W PSU (Aerocool F tier BRUH)

Hello everyone, I'm having quite the challenge getting these two new computers to work properly. For the my computer, I had it working completely fine until I started troubleshooting my Wife's builds RAM. The other RAM would not overclock to the rated speeds so I chucked into my PC to see if the RAM was the issue but my PC wouldn't even boot the other RAM. So I pulled it and put my RAM back in. Now I can't get any video signal and the VGA QLed is always lit and sometimes the BOOT QLed is always lit sometimes. I've reflashed the BioS with and without the graphics card, cleared the CMOS with and without the graphics card, moved around the DP cable, only thing I haven't done is reseat the CPU as it worked fine before (was using it without my old 980 for a bit). Am I missing something? Is there anything else I can do? Here is the parts list: Asus ROG Strix Z690-G Intel i5 13600k Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 5600mhz C36 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD EVGA GeForce GTX 980 (temporary until I can snag new graphics cards) Corsair RM1000e Power Supply EK D-RGB 360 aio For the other PC I can't determine which the faulty part is. I cannot boot with XMP and I always get the DRAM QLed when I reboot the PC. I felt like I was missing a setting when enabling XMP so I chucked it into my PC however, as mentioned before, my PC wouldn't even boot with them not matter what; clearing CMOS, Safe Boot, ect. The CPU overclocks just fine so I felt that maybe it was definitely the RAM, however, when I put in the RAM from my build it also will not boot with XMP enabled even though I know it works on my PC. So maybe the motherboard? or CPU? I have no idea. However, when I returned the RAM from troubleshooting on My PC I can boot up just fine at 4800 mhz and an overclocked CPU and back into Windows just not at the rated 5200 mhz speed. So what's the problem here? I'm at my wits end lol. Here is my Wifes build: Asus Prime z690-A Intel i5 13600k Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 5200mhz C40 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD Corsair RM1000e Power Supply Corsair H150i iCUE aio No GPU yet Thank you to anyone that can help me. I'm so lost after today, especially after the working PC no longer boots. I feel like I'm losing my mind haha. Kind regards, HutBunz *SOLVED In regards the first computer it was as simple as a bad DP cable. Booted fine off of an HDMI cable. Everything working as intended now. As for the second computer, I downloaded Cinebench and the CPU was only landing a score of 10,000. Far cry from 24,000ish. So I downloaded HWinfo and noticed the CPU was only drawing 120W but was absolutely pegged during stress testing. Checked connections but they were all good. Turns out the chipset firmware and intelME needed updating. After installing the updates, BOOM, pulling ~170W and scoring 24,000 in Cinebench and also, BAM, XMP enabled no problem. Only issue is now is the CPU absolutely does not like being overclocked, although I have been using the Asus AI feature. Might try updating to latest BiOS as it improves stability, or manually overclock or could just be a loss in silicon lottery. All that said, I'm happy I got it all figured out after awhile of troubleshooting and I hope this information can maybe help someone else down the line. HutBunz

So basically ive been using this pc for 2 months now -Ryzen 7 2700x -3070 -B450 Tomahawk (Non Max) -16GB Corsair Ram I was playing cyberpunk for an hour then noticed my cpu temps were like 80 degrees so i close the game and open ryzen master and then wanted to see what precision overdrive does. I clicked on it and my pc turned off After that as soon as i turn on the pc my VGA light turns red on my motherboard. Ive dont literally everything on the internet. Reseated my GPU, took out all excess cables , tried booting with one ram stick, reconnected all cables from the psu to fans and other items such has hdd and ssd. I reset the CMOS by jumping the two prongs and even took. out the battery for 10 mins and put it back in. Its still showing the VGA light. Please help as i have 0 idea on what to do and i really need it to work as everything regarding my work is done on this pc Thanks in advance

Heyyy so went on vacation for 2 weeks. everything working fine before i go. Since I can hear it get to windows login screen the motherboard and cpu are a month old the rest of the system is older like 3-4 years atleast
