So the rules are simple: I'm looking for the best performing GPU in current games, at the best price! That means we can go from a GTX 550Ti up until the Titan Xp, the value/price ratio is the only thing that matters. To make competition fair: - Average/general Ebay prices only (cards like the RX 480 have great value/price, but you won't find them new in stores anymore!) - As a means of comparing performance, we'll use the Firestrike Benchmark scores from Futuremark (although discussion is possible regarding VRAM and DirectX usage!) - Overclocking capabilities can also be brought into consideration, but any airflow tweaks you need for it add up to the price of course! I'll kick things off by submitting the R9 Fury! At a price of roughly a little more than $300, it has a Firestrike-score of over 15500, which I think gives you guys a hard time topping that already Good luck to all!

If I was to use msrp prices, Gtx 1070 is $400, Gtx 1070 ti is $450, and Gtx 1080 is $500, which would be the best value card? Also, will any of them be bottlenecked by a ryzen 5 1600?

Hello, I am struggling If I should get a high end laptop, desktop, or getting both (just not as high end). Reasons For getting a high end laptop: I want to be able to play games with my friends in school (yes that is allowed in my school), and be able to go to lan parties easily while still getting very high performance Reasons For building a high end desktop: I want the most performance and value with water cooling, and more modularity and upgradability Reasons for getting both (just not as high end): I could have the performance of a desktop while still being able to have portability Reasons for saving up even more money so I could get both: I have the pros of both without a severe lack of performance and value Reasons for not getting a high end laptop: Lack of thermal performance, upgradability, and value, Reasons for not building a high end desktop: Lack of portability, my desk is complete shit, Reasons not to get both: severely lacking in performance and value while not being used in many tasks Reasons for not saving up even more money so I could get both: Requires more work and time

I saw the Asus GTX 1060 Turbo for $390 bucks on newegg. I wonder is this card is good because it seems to good to be true: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814126115 Should I get a GTX 750 instead? ( I am on a mid-budget on my video card. I could buy a 400 dollar card) I also like blower style fans for their looks.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me pick out a monitor for my new PC setup. It's based around a GTX 1060 and i5-8400. I will use it for some work in Photoshop (though it's not my livelyhood obviously) and some gaming (mostly RTS games). My budget is around $200. I'm not interested in a fast refresh rate, I'm not an FPS player. But I would love the best possible image quality this kind of money can buy So probably an IPS panel, but I hear that VA panels are also good (I havent bought a monitor in like 6 years so Im not up to date I kind of like this one but Im not sure if its good value for money. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Professional-P2417H-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B01FGCJE26 Thank you very much!

Budget: $2000 Plan: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bwopper/saved/p4fWXL Looking to stay around $2000 but $100 more is ok if it's worth the extra money. I play usually 3-6 different games primarily, but every now and then, play something else. This is why im considering changing my storage. I want to use the 2700x and x470 in my build, and even overclock it. I'm starting from scratch since I use a laptop. Im buying a quality monitor and keyboard. I already have a nice mouse. However, since its my first, i'm getting lost in these numbers. Games I want to be able to play: Basically any AAA game that can catch my eye. Also I play Fortnite and PUBG. GPU: Definitely want to use a 1080, what I have listed was what i've had in my plan for most of the time. I want to have the best value around 2000 basically. Is my part plan living up to this?

This is my first time ever building a PC, can someone please look over my build and give me some tips or tell me any better alternatives or if I have something that's kinda unnecessary? I would like to reduce the cost a little if possible as well. Thank you in advance.

Hi, everyone. A few years ago (October, 2015), I built myself a rig. I've always dreamed of having a very powerful rig, so I went all out. I bought 4x Titan X (Maxwell). The rig was a joy to build and it was great to have that much power sitting around. Unfortunately, it mostly went unused. Many developers don't bother with 4x SLI anymore, so it's not very useful for gaming. I sort of regret spending that much money on it just to have it go unused. The value of computer parts usually depreciates very quickly.....BUT it seems I have a chance to take it back. I've been hearing about the crypto mining craze lately and how GPU prices are very high. However, I'm not too familiar with the topic and was wondering if someone could offer me some advice. Would now be a good time to sell these off? How much money could I expect to get back? Each GPU also has an EK Waterblock. I'm unsure if I should sell those as a combo with the stock air cooler. Any advice would be appreciated.

Okay so i can buy a GTX 1060 6gb for $297 or i can get a gtx 970 for $220 off of craigslist? I am not sure if saving the $80 is worth the 15% performance difference.

Hello, I found myself struggling to get actual work done on my existing Lenovo G510s Touch due to the many issues it has. I already have a gaming desktop and just need a laptop for homework/web browsing. I'm hoping sell my current laptop and buy a used laptop off of ebay. I was just unsure how much to sell it for or wether it's worth selling at all. Here are the specs: Intel Core i5 4200m (800mhz-3ghz) 6gb DDR3 memory 500gb 7200RPM hard drive (I got speeds of ~130mbps read/~110mbps writes, and this was a replacement for the dead HDD that came with the laptop when Lenovo refused to send it in for a repair) Integrated graphics (intel HD 4600) Touch screen Gigabit ethernet Wireless N wifi card (2.4ghz only) Problems: (I ALREADY SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS RESEARCHING FIXES FOR THESE ISSUES AND I DON'T NEED ADVICE ON HOW TO FIX THEM AND THESE ARE ALL KNOWN DEFECTS WITH THIS MODEL OF LAPTOP) BIOS power management is broken so the CPU will sometimes run at 800mhz until restarted. Sd card reader is dead. EXTREMELY SLOW wifi card. Flaky SATA controller (Corrupts file system on HDD every few months and it stops recognizing the HDD sometimes but rarely) Should I sell it, and if so how much. Also if anyone can recommend a used laptop with at least a 4th gen i5 and 8gb ram under $350 that would be wonderful (and yes, this price point is achievable). Also, NO LENOVO RECOMMENDATIONS! I have had enough of their crap!

Hey guys So i need to find out about specific AIO coolers and if it would be worth spending a lot of money extra, the options here are a Corsair H100i V2, Antec Mercury 360, Antec Mercury 240 and Antec Kuhler H2O H1200 Pro. At the time of post they cost $115(Corsair H100i V2), $110(Mercury 360), $83(Mercury 240) and $70(Kuhler) in my country (incl Sipping and tax all of them have a 5 year local warrenty). I cannot find any hard evidence to say the Corsair one is much better than the Mercury 240 so saving the $30 seems worth it for me. I have a Corsair Spec Alpha case so it can support all of these AIOs I am looking at 240mm rads because I don't think the 360 will be worth the extra money, i could rather set up the 240 in push pull. Would it be worth spending the extra cash to go up from the Mercury 240 to the 360 or Corsair H100i v2 ? PS I currently have a Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 and I am running an i5-3570k @4.6Ghz (Probably not going to upgrade soon unless I can find a i7-2700k or 3770k). I also only put the Kuhler there for some reference I will probably spend a little extra and get the Mercury unless it actually performs worse ?

Before I say anything, let me just say that Vietnamese Pc component price is more expensive than in US or Canada. For example, for $600-650, you can probably get a system with a GTX 1060 and a core i5 (price change everytime). While in Vietnam, for the same amount of money, you can only get a GTX 1050Ti and a core i3 (or better depending on price/sales). So I want to ask you guys if this build has good value. Thanks! http://www.anphatpc.com.vn/xem-may-tinh-da-tao?parts=,24123-1024,18512-1234,11238-1047,22851-1155,21518-1051,23920-1050,20684-1292,23790-1025,20684-1292, P/s: This website is in Vietnamese but you can probably understand. And exchange the price in the website from VND to USD.

Hi All, The Asus Strix 2080 Super has 3 versions with different OC boost clocks: Gaming (1845 MHz) £650 Advanced (1860 MHz ) £750 OC (1890 MHz) £780 Without overclocking, how much of a difference do the versions make in terms of FPS? - I can't find any benchmarks £100-£130 seems like a lot more to pay for a small uptick in MHz am I missing something? Would be interested to hear your opinions Cheers

So my brother is going to be upgrading his current build by building a new PC from scratch. His current build has lasted him for ~6 years and i think expects this next setup to do the same. Here is a list of his current parts that he has chosen and I just wanted to get some feedback for his build to see what everyone thinks. His main goals are to keep his build as quiet as possible while keeping costs as low as possible and to make sure it lasts several years.http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/spYNzMListed: CPU: i7-4790CPU Cooler: Scythe Kotetsu 79.0 CFMMotherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5Memory/RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Also will be adding current HDD from current build, 1TB)GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIXCase: Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition ATX Mid Tower CasePower Supply: be quiet! Hey, so basically I'm seraching for a GPU to go into my system. I want to spend under 150€ and am currently looking at the r9 290/gtx 780 (amd runs hot and loud, nvidia has only 3gb and no longer gets driver support I think). I'm mainly photo editing and also some Davinci Resolve work and game at 1080p. I want to go used, cause I don't see a point in getting a 460/960 for the same price point. To go into perspective, where I live (germany) a rx 470 4GB (new cause you can't find used once here) goes for 200€, a new 970 goes for the same. 390's go for at least 200 and weirdly 380x's are also over 150€. Any Idea?

Hi Guys! Could do with some help... I work for an IT company that provides the education sector in the UK with IT Support and Services. We have a new school that's opened very recently which we've already installed 10 HTC Vives, 10 Rifts along with 25x Workstation's with GTX 1080's. They're after a laptop that can used as a portable VR solution for use in the classes where we have a Vive but no powerful workstation. Any suggestions? I was thinking a laptop with an i5 or higher with GTX 1060, maybe GTX 1070? Would anyone suggest a particular laptop? Needs to be as good'a value as possible Thanks in advanced, Lewis

HI everyone, I am looking to build a computer for my brother to give to him on his birthday. I have built one computer before and spent about $1600 on it. I am looking to spend about $600-$800 dollars on this one. He mostly plays League of Legends so he really doesn't need a very expensive one. I looked at Linus' Ultimate Value PC build guide but I wanted to try and see if I could make a smaller, more up-to-date PC. I have to send this computer in the mail so I want it to be pretty compact. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
