Hey guys, I'd like to know if a VA or IPS panel is better in a higher price range or maybe if there do not differ. I've been looking at VA monitors like the MSI Optix MAG27CQ, MSI Optix MPG27CQ and IPS monitors like ASUS PG279Q ROG. The information I have is that VA panels have a worse colour repoduction but better contrast, is that also in that price range? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm looking for a QHD (preferably 27") monitor that would be mostly used for browsing the internet, watching youtube videos, movies and TV shows, programming and reading PDFs. Image quality and panel quality are the most important things to me. Monitor also has to have an HDMI input so I can connect it to my laptop. Adjustable stand would definitely be a plus (but it's not necessary), and I prefer glossier screens (with a mild antiglare coating). I'm from Europe and looking to spend around 400€ (maybe even 500€ if it's really worth it, but the less i spend the better). I would probably be buying from Alzashop and here are some monitors I found interesting: iiyama ProLite XUB2792QSU-B1 ~ 320€ AOC Q2790PQU ~ 390€ Benq PD2700Q~ 350€ Samsung C27H711 ~ 400€ Dell U2715h ~ 400€ Benq GW2765HT ~ 280€ Philips 272B8QJEB ~ 260€ Acer B277UBMIIPPRZX ~ 350€ Benq EW2770QZ ~ 400€ iiyama looks good to me (at least on paper), but I can't find much info about it online and none of the stores near me have it in stock so I can't see it in person. I'm currently leaning towards the BenQ GW2765HT because of the semi-glossy coating on screen, price and positive reviews, but should I order iiyama or any other monitor instead? I can't stand full matte coatings on screen, but on dispayspecifications.com it says that the Benq, iiyama and actually most of them have the same coating. What would be the best monitor of the bunch? Also do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

Hello All, I have been searching and searching, but found nothing to date. Anyone able to help old Captain Ahab here? I have been looking for a monitor with the following attributes... - 24" to 27" - 1440p - > 60Hz - VA or IPS Panel - G-Sync - Curved - Height Adjustable - Aesthetically Pleasing (For my tastes... not covered in glossy plastic, no wide bevels, no "gaming" coloring, etc.) - Affordable (Not necessary at this point because I just want to see if this sea monster is real or not, but it would be a nice perk) I have a feeling it doesn't exist, but I thought I would ask before walking off with my tail between my legs to get a FreeSync monitor. If my white whale indeed does not exist how close to checking all those boxes can you all get? The closest I have found is the following... https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260333 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G5JYMNA?tag=blurbust-20 Let me know what you all find! Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am looking to buy a new monitor. I would like it to be at least 100Hz, as my previous one was 144Hz, and it's hard to go back to 60. I play some games such as CSGO, BF1 and a few RTS games. I care about the color reproduction, viewing angles, and eye strain. I was looking at these ones: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Acer-ED242QR-Abidpx-Black-24-144Hz-AMD-FreeSync-VA-Curved-Widescreen-LED-backli/173173493163?hash=item2851f1cdab:g:At4AAOSw9KhaFDNa http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MSI-Optix-G24C-Black-Red-23-6-Curved-FHD-1080p-1ms-MPRT-144Hz-110-sRGB-Wid/172780261381?hash=item283a819005:g:z7AAAOSwGh5Z0P5~ https://www.ebay.ca/itm/MSI-Full-HD-FreeSync-Gaming-Monitor-24-Curved-non-Glare-1ms-LED-Wi-2DAY-SHIP/222820276837?hash=item33e11f9a65:g:~CMAAOSwbPNac7hu http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Samsung-24-Black-Curved-LED-1920x1080-16-9-144hz-Gaming-Monitor-LC24FG70FQNXZA/322396024264?hash=item4b104cedc8:g:yawAAOSwo4pYgQvD The above ones are all curved, but they don't have to be. I am open to regular flat ones. Furthermore, doesn't need to be from eBay, Craigslist, Newegg, Memory express, etc works fine. Also what's the difference between Quantum Dot, TN, VA, and IPS? Which one is the best? Thanks for your help!

I was wondering if there was a big difference between a IPS and VA panel since I am Looking to buying a new display. Thanks!

I am looking at this monitor. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824011162 I know VA has better colors. How noticeable is it? Also there are worse response times, but these are color changing speeds not delays - so not as important. And I heard that anything less than 5ms is unnoticeable. Thoughts? I wont be using amd freesync. Will that make it look worse? Curved was unintentional just bonus. Should I invest in 27inches? I know the pixel density won't be as good, especially in my close viewing. Am on budget. Thanks!

Hi ya'll! Getting a new monitor and I am torn between these: 1. Benq EX3501R 2. Samsung LC34 °F 791 3. ASUS MX34VQ Designo Curved 34-inch UWQHD 4. ASUS ROG Strix Curved XG35VQ, It has to have these things: 34-35" or more 3440x1440 Freesync Somehow I lean towards the Benq but that's what you are here for - give me you opinion and if you think there is a better alternative to these let me know!

I am looking for a gaming monitor with excellent colour reproduction and I have noticed that many of the freesync monitors have excellent panels, VA or quantum dot technology. The only other alternative would be to find a G-Sync monitor with a VA panel but they seem to be a rarity. https://www.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG27CQ Excellent contrast ratio and colour reproduction but my concern is the refresh rate. If I buy a freesync monitor, will I be able to take advantage of the freesync feature if I have a Nvidia card? I have also seen the Acer Predator XB271HU G-Sync 165Hz monitor with an IPS, how does it compare to a VA? Will it have the same level of colour reproduction? Thank you.

Hi there, I'm planning to buy a new 1440p monitor and currently I have a PLS monitor. I usually stick with IPS type panels as I'm more into the colour accuracy/reproduction but now I'm just wondering how does AMVA+ stand up today? I've heard AMVA has improved and even can be better than IPS by today's standards but I've never used an AV panel before and last time I heard was that AMVA has better black/white contrasts but lower colour accuracy than IPS. I'm primarily just using it for gaming and general video watching so nothing professional but do love colours.

Hello everyone. So... VA panels and gaming. I'm currently looking into upgrading my current TN gaming display in favor of something a bit larger and with better viewing angles and color reproduction. I'd like to get a panel with a high refresh rate and because I can't shell out $600+ for an Asus ROG IPS, 144HZ, 1440P, 'everything but the kitchen sink' display, VA panels caught my eye. They seem to be a great middle of the road option between TN and IPS and everything looked hunky dory until I caught wind of a possible issue with gaming: VA panel ghosting and smearing. My question is, is this still an issue that will forever plague this tech or is it a relic of a bygone development stage?

Put plain and simple, I am shopping for a new monitor because my current one an 11 year old ViewSonic TV that can clock in about 75hz, can't really play many if any of the games I currently wish to and used to enjoy. Now I know asking for monitor suggestions can be a flood gate so let me give some context. First my rig is below; Now I'm not hoping for anything insane in terms of monitors but two things I will not back down on are 1080p and 144hz gaming. I don't have any real graphical fidelity preferences besides the fact that I'd like it's color accuracy to be in line with at least a VA Panel if possible. Refresh rate is above picture quality so I don't mind turning down the quality settings of games if I have to but my Rig will not be like this forever and I cannot keep using my current monitor. As stated once again, MY CURRENT RIG WILL NOT BE THE END RIG RUNNING THE MONITOR, but I can't rationalize buying a new PC when my current monitor can't even play games like League of Legends without crashing directx11. If I did it would be a waste of hardware. So with all of that, what monitor can people recommend I buy? My budget is $700 and G-Sync is welcome and preferable. I look forward to suggestions but need to finalize by Thursday at midnight.

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my current monitor (Benq RL2455HM overclocked to 75Hz). My rig consists of i5-8600k @ 4,8GHz, GTX1060 6GB @2075MHz core/4579MHz mem & 16GB RAM. There are 2 monitors that I am stuck deciding between. Both are 1080p, 144Hz Samsung C24FG73 (~280€) - This one has curved VA panel with Quantum dot technology, great response times for this type of panel and Freesync. It's basically the only non-TN 1080p, 144Hz panel on the market right now. AOC g2460PG (~300-320€) - This one only appeals to me because of the G-Sync feature. It's the cheapest G-Sync monitor currently on the market with a TN panel. The question is: Will I benefit from G-sync that much it will outweigh the vastly better picture quality of the Samsung one? I won't be able to hit 144fps in most games so I think G-sync might come in handy, but is it worth sacrificing the picture quality? I am mostly playing PUBG @ low settings and I get 100+FPS most of the time. Are TN panels that bad in terms of picture quality? If not, please feel free to recommend any other monitors. Thanks.

Hey fellas, I need some help. I need to buy a new monitor, and I'm not a fan of dual monitor setups as well. Since I live in Macedonia, the amount of monitors I can choose from is fairly limited. At the moment I'm looking between Dell U3417W, versus the ASUS MX34VQ. I was mainly hyped towards the Dell one, but the backlight bleed that users report are becoming a deal breaker for me. Since I mainly do photography, and a bit of video, that backlight bleed can really throw off my photos. However, one of the shops here has the ASUS MX34VQ in stock, and for a fairly decent price (since most of the things in my country are overpriced as hell). Now the dilemma is, the DELL is an IPS display, with over 99% sRGB coverage. The ASUS is a VA panel, but it also has sRGB over 99% coverage. I'm not sure about the AdobeRGB coverage on both monitors, I hope some of you could shed some light on that as well. Back on point, since both monitors in theory should have the same amount of gamut coverage, would the VA panel preform as good as the IPS on the Dell? I mean, does it change anything picture quality wise having the IPS from the Dell over the VA on the ASUS? As a bonus point, the ASUS has 100hz refresh rate, and a wireless charging dock (which is a cool feature tbh). Also, can the ASUS be calibrated decently (I don't know whether/and how much VA panels can be calibrated, since I don't know much about VA panels in general)? Thanks!

I'm looking for a nice budget (preferably under $200) VA monitor that works well for gaming. I recently purchased the HP 25xw, an IPS panel, and although the colors and gaming performance are great, the IPS glow is very noticeable (returning the monitor). This seems to be the case with most IPS monitors, so I'm looking into VA. I'd like to find something that I can get for under $200 that has a low enough response time that I don't experience ghosting. I know it seems like I'm asking for a lot on the budget that I have, but stuff like ghosting and glow, as well as tinted colors, are very noticeable to me.

Hi guys, I'm looking to get a new monitor for less than £100 and I've narrowed it down to two models. I'm set on getting a 21.5" monitor because of the amount of available space, but I'm not sure whether I should go for VA or IPS. Occasionally I need to do some photo editing (my current TN monitor is completely unusable for this) so good colours is quite important. I do also play games but not in a competitive way which requires lightning fast response times. Here are the two monitors which I'm considering: BenQ GW2270H 21.5" VA (£78.99) AOC I2276VWM 21.5" IPS (£92.99) Another thing to note is that the AOC monitor comes with an HDMI cable but the BenQ monitor doesn't. This effectively adds about £5 to the cost of the BenQ monitor because I don't have a spare HDMI cable. Any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello! Currently searching for a excellent monitor and I am having a hard time trying to figure out what is the best display panel? I am accustomed to IPS panels but I want to know if there is anything better. My PC is used for gaming at max settings on most games and I want the display that will complement the graphical power of my GPU's. If someone can help me with what display panel will give the visual experience when gaming. Also, if you have any recommendations for a monitor with that panel it would be very helpful! Thanks! P.S. My budget is open for any monitor recommendation. I will also be playing games like Fallout 4, Witcher 3, etc.

OK! I've just spent 3 hours scouring the interwebs and I can't find a definitive answer - LG 34UC87M-B vs Samsung S34E790C. Basically, the main difference seems to be VA panel vs IPS. Sammy seems to have the edge on default color calibration and light bleed. On my local (czech) sites, it seems to sell better too. On the other side, I have good experience with LG panels, Linus' review was excellent and people seem to be happy with it. They both seem to be good displays but obviously can't get both. help me forum people you're my only hope! THANKS THANKS THANKS!

LOOKING FOR INPUT In a couple months I will be purchasing a new monitor. I am currently using an ASUS 24" 60Hz TN monitor from 2009 (VE248H). I am looking at 4 different monitors, they are all 27", 1440p and 60Hz except for one which is 32". The biggest difference I can find is the physical aspects and the panel types. Two of the panels are IPS, one is a VA panel and the last one is a PLS panel. I don't play competitive FPS games, so I don't feel the need for anything more than 60Hz. The monitors i'm looking at are ASUS PB278Q, PB328Q, MX27AQ and a BenQ GW2765HT. I am leaning towards either the PB278Q or the MX27AQ. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb278q https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb328q https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-mx27aq https://pcpartpicker.com/part/benq-monitor-gw2765ht BTW, my budget is around $500, but I would spend a bit more for the PB328Q if it come highly recommended over the other monitors. Thanks for any input.

Hi, I have $500 in best buy gift card and want to get a new monitor to replace my ancient 21"... I found the following 3 choices for that price range they all have different strengths and weaknesses but I'd like opinions on each and recommendation as I have 0 experience with any of these. -Acer 28" 4K 60Hz 1ms resp.time - TN Model #: CB280HK bmjdppr -Samsung 31.5" 60Hz Curved 1080p 4ms resp.time - VA Model #: S32E590C -BenQ 27" 144Hz 1080p 1ms resp.time - TN Model #: XL2720Z Would any of the above even really be worth it over say a much cheaper older model like for example. BenQ 27" 60Hz 1080p 1ms resp.time - TN Model #: RL2755HM Or Would it be worthwhile to ad an extra $300 of my own money to get something like Philips 40" 60Hz Widescreen 4K Model #: BDM4065UC

Hello, I was trying to compare between two monitors and wanted the communities input. 1) BenQ EW2750ZL 27in (VA Panel) http://www.ncix.com/detail/benq-ew2750zl-27in-led-am-va-1f-117756-1293.htm 2) LG 27MP77HM-P 27in (IPS Panel) http://www.ncix.com/detail/lg-27mp77hm-p-27in-led-monitor-1e-107057-1293.htm Price is about the same and generally from what I've been reading the 5ms IPS and 4ms VA are more or less the same for the cost. Can you help explain which one would be a better purchase and why? Main use would be for watching tv/movies and very light gaming. Thanks, Michael

I was recently looking at getting a UPS for my computer (We had a power outage yesterday, that was annoying) I noticed UPS don't typically come with alot of surge protection. I had been looking at a 1500VA UPS with 865 Watts and I read that it only had a little more than 350 Joules of surge protection. My current Surge Protector has 3020 Joules of protection. What am I missing LTT? Why is there such a low amount of protection on a UPS like that? HALP! (Yes, there is an a, not an e)

Hi guys, looking for new monitor. If you guys can help me, that would be great! I have EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB (GPU). I'm looking to upgrade my current monitor to something that is 1080p 24 inch LED monitor. I play a range of games, but I mostly play 'Dota 2' and 'CSGO' and on a time to time a bit of GTA V and Arma 3. Good FPS and MS Monitor, that has great colors, with the great performance. Preference, good looking monitor (Black). I know BENQ have great gaming monitors, but it's hard to find the right one for me. Saying this, I know other manufacturers have the same specifications but may be cheaper and more reliable. But, it's hard to find. My budget is around £100 - £150. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Dec. Also, here are some monitors I've had a look at. BenQ RL2455HM LED 24 -inch BenQ GL2450HM LED TN 24-inch BenQ EW2440L LED VA 24-inch
