Any good value for money 1440p 144hz IPS/VA monitors around? I have found a couple that I might consider purchasing later on in the year. 1) AOC CQ27G2U/BK 27" QHD FREESYNC 144HZ - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-cq27g2u-bk-27-2560x1440-va-144hz-1ms-freesync-curved-widescreen-led-backlit-gaming-monitor-mo-058-ao.html#tech_specs 2) ACER Nitro VG271UPbmiipx Quad HD 27" LCD - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/pc-monitors/pc-monitors/acer-nitro-vg270upbmiipx-quad-hd-27-lcd-gaming-monitor-black-10195212-pdt.html

Which one is best for a mix of casual gaming and 3D modeling ? It would be helpful if you guys can list some pros and cons. I'm running an i7 6700k with a GTX 1070. > https://www.asus.com/Monitors/TUF-GAMING-VG27WQ/specifications/ > https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.HV1AA.P01

http://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-24MP68VQ http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/business-monitor/performance/LC24F390FHUXEN I already bought the LG but i'm pretty dissapointed with the black level. The colors look good, it also has bleeding during black screens on the left side of the screen but this isn't that significant. Basically, the LG has freesync at 75 hz which I heard that it's a good advantage during the gameplay. Samsung is freesync at 60 hz but curved and better contrast and black reproduction. Do you think the difference of hz would be considerable for shooter games? I'm also scared of ghosting on the samsung one due to that VA panel are usually having this issue. I intend to use it for office and gaming (no way for movies) with RX 470. Please let me know if I should replace it with the samsung.

Hello team, The moment I introduced myself to the basic LG Ultrawide, I began my search for the best ultrawides and I have been going on a consistent loop reviewing all the 3440x1440 ultrawides and honestly need some help. I have been trying to best understand the differences between IPS and VA as well as GSync. Then different models between all these ultrawides from ACER / ASUS, now Samsung and soon to be HP. My main concerns are ghosting (saw a complaint about it on a BenQ 1080 ultrawide (but supposedly was due to being at 200hz?)), backlight issues (I am seeing so many complaints about this on the ASUS/Acer monitors but seems to be the norm with IPS?), and I guess proper colors?. Monitors I have been looking over: Acer Predator x34 (Gsync) *IPS* Asus ROG PG348Q (Gsync) *IPS* Samsung CF791 (Freesync, so can't use it) *VA* HP Omen X (ETA: March 2017, GSync) *VA* Uses for this monitor: 70% Gaming (50/50 : Comp/Casual) but not exactly at tournament level so the loss of the 44hz is not the end of the world. I hit 4k in Comp for Overwatch (then just stopped playing altogether) and before that, LEM for CSGO. 20% Movies/Netflix 10% Production (photoshop and a little AE/PP) TL:DR: I'm basically looking for some insight between these 4 or if maybe there's another I have not mentioned? I have been overwhelming myself with information between all of these that I just need to start asking questions and get some insight. My GPU is an ASUS GTX 1080 (Single) 1) Since I'm already at the $1k range, I may as well get Gsync, right? (Feel like this is a yes) - aka do not buy the Samsung? I've never experienced GSync, is it really that amazing as some people make it out to be? 2) Given the uses for the monitor, should I lean towards a VA panel? assuming the previous question is a yes, lean to the HP? 3) I'm given to understand color reproduction is amazing on the IPS panels but is it the end of the world compared to VA? 4) Given the 4 monitors I have listed, which would you recommend? Is there a different monitor I don't know about?

What is the differences between VA named panels? Do not discuss ips vs va!!(like: Which is better?) If something here is renamed IPS FAQ - PLS and AHVA vs. IPS ,do point that out. If it is important to compare one of them with IPS, do so. Every other post and google search I find is about some type of VA vs IPS. This is about VA panels and their differences. va mva / m-va amva / a-mva amva+/ a-mva+ -- especially this one. wva+ I can't find anything in google. Phone tech-support of stores and Benq don't know anything and start explaining the difference between IPS and AV, Sent mail to ASUS Support asking them.

So I'm just about to enter pc gaming so I've never owend a TN VA or a IPS panel IPS sounds nice but is expensive and when I want g sync 144hz 1080p tell me if I'm wrong but IPS seem impossible except at huge prices VA seems rare and well I'm wondering about TN panels so are their colors really that bad and are viewing angels really that much of a issue if I'm going to be sitting at it all day

anyone have a Viotek GN27C or a Samsung C27FG70. what is your experience with it? i'm interested in a VA Panel just due to it being in between TN and IPS (samsung being 1ms)

Hi, Im looking for a monitor with freesync (220$ budget). I'm interested in IPS screen since I often watch movies from the bed and at the moment it is terrible with my TN monitor, also better colours with IPS. I found two interesting monitors: http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/business-monitor/performance/LS24F356FHUXEN http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/business-monitor/performance/LC24F390FHUXEN Practically they are the same, the only difference is screen type, the cheaper flat screen is PLS (better?) and the curved has VA. Is it better to take PLS over VA? or there isn't a big difference? To be honest I really like the curved one or maybe I can find something better in this price range?

I'm an expat from new jersey living in South Korea. But also an avid techie =] Anyways, the new Quantum Dot monitors are being released. Mostly, I think a lot of people have been drooling over the idea of having a 34in. curved ultra wide version of this monitor being released. In anycase, Coming in at a lengthy 86,4cm / 34in. at an aspect ratio of 21:9 VA panel 3440x1440 QHD 100 hz 4ms gtg Curved Contrast Ratio - 3000:1 with a view angle of 178 degrees @ 1500 R it boasts an amazing 125% sRGB with a min. of 120% Adobe RGB coverage of 92% FREESYNC 1 DP 2 HDMI for those worried about the environment, they have confirmed that they will not use Cadmium in the manuf. process for Q-Dot technology. Anyways, Initial pricing in South Korea is 995,980 KRW (Roughly) $866 But I think it's safe to assume that pricing in the US and Europe and most places outside of Korea will be much MUCH cheaper. Given that Korea has no monopoly laws... (well very poor ones) LG and Samsung are able to call whatever prices they want... leading to products costing 2-3x more than in the US or other parts of the world. I'm personally on the fence about gettin it at the moment.. but it does seem promising. below are links for sources i've found (in Korean) but otherwise unavailable anywhere else. =] Thanks for reading. =] http://itempage3.auction.co.kr/DetailView.aspx?ItemNo=B372628042&frm3=V2 http://prod.danawa.com/info/?pcode=4612354&cate=112757

I'd like to know what is the best panel type for what your uses are and/or your experience with others compared to the "best". Some to list off include: IPS TN VA(other's with "VA") PLS CRT(I understand it's not LCD)(I have seen few who compliment the superiority of CRT) If there are more, you may list more that I don't know of.

Um, so I have been really torn between these two monitors, and just to make this clear, I'm getting a GTX 1080 Ti that I may or may not change in the future, so 1440p is not a problem, but I really like the fact that I would get 60+ fps in 1080p ultra even a few years later (future proof as I may not change the graphics card). Samsung CFG70 24inch, 1080p, 144hz, 1800R curved VA panel, 1ms response time, quantum dot (125% sRGB) so this monitor is just awesome and the picture quality is awesome too, as you'd expect from a quantum dot VA panel (the colors are life like and vibrant), and the curve just makes it all the more enticing, no complaints except for the 1080p resolution. AOC AGON AG241QX 24inch, 1440p, 144hz, not curved , TN panel, 1ms response time, no quantum dot , OK picture quality (TN) but the 1440p resolution should maybe compensate for that. It is also $50 costlier. The question is, does TN 1440p look better than VA 1080p with curve, I would love pictures with side by side comparison of 1440p and 1080p and your opinions on what you would get. And I want my games to look the best they can. Thanks in advance!

Did you think LG's new 42" 4k monitor was big, think again! Phillips is prepearing to release thier new 49-inch 32:9 UltraWide curved monitor, the Philips 492P8. The monitor is supposidly going to come in at just under $1100, and is repordetly going to be released in Q2 of 2018. Some spec highlights are: 49-inch VA display panel Native resolution of 3840 × 1080 pixels 32:9 aspect ratio Brightness up to 600cd/m² Contrast up to 5000:1 Personally, I'm curious to see, if 3840*1080 isn't a tad bit small for a monitor this size, especially the screen-door effect. http://www.anandtech.com/show/11813/philips-readies-curved-ultrawide-492p8-display http://hexus.net/tech/news/monitors/109976-philips-readies-49-inch-329-ultrawide-curved-va-monitor/

I'm looking to get a new monitor that has g-sync, 144hz, 1-4ms and preferably IPS(meaning the monitor would be 4ms) for gaming and I was wondering if it was worth paying more to get a 1440p monitor. These are the two monitors I am looking at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Predator-Tracking-Assassins-Syndicate/dp/B01N7J0Z9U/ https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Ultrasharp-S2417DG-60-5cm-23-8-black/dp/B01IOO4SGK/ Are these worth it? Does one stand out more than the other?

Hey there everybody, I never been using a UPS but recently a 7 days old ram stick (vengeance 3000mhz) burned in my new pc. It was probably faulty from the beginning since I never had problem with power in my house for 20 years. By the way, I decided to buy a UPS, now, it's a 650 VA line interactive ups, 360 WATTS from the box, is it safe to say that my pc (see picture) is going to be safe with it (pcpartpicker says it's a 279 watt total)? In case it makes any difference, my psu is a SF 600 from Corsair (the whole pc is a m-itx) Thanks for helping me!

So this is my review of a monitor i purchased recently the AOC C3583FQ 35". I have been using it now for over a week and feel like i can give a fair reflection of the monitor from the point of view of a typical user. here are the Spec's : General Monitor Line AOC Gaming Monitor Size 35 Inch Visible Screen Size 819.84 x 345.87 Screen Format 21:9 Brightness 300 cd/m2 (type) Contrast Ratio 2000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio 50M:1 Viewing Angle Response time 4 ms Scanning Frequency Scanning Frequency H: DP: 30-170KHz, Others: 30-160 KHz V: DP: 45-160Hz, Others: 50-146Hz Resolution Maximum Resolution 2560x1080@160Hz Recommended Resolution 2560x1080@160Hz Colors 16.7 Million PANEL TYPE IS : VA Introduction I wish that i was starting this review after using this monitor and concluding that the AOC C3583FQ is The Gaming Monitor for the Sub £500 mark, I wish i was saying that the monitor meets all my expectations and I will be using it for the next 3-5 years. I decided to get a new monitor now not because I thought i really needed one (although 3x 23.4 120hz TN Panels have without question lost their magic) but because my Girlfriend convince me that seeing as i spend so much time on my computer (subtle digg intended no doubt) I might as well get a fantastic screen in which to experience my games with. After carefully looking through many monitors the AOC C3583FQ really popped out at me for 6 reasons : 160hz!!!! 35 inches WOW Curved Monitor ? Holy Sh** Freesync if i ever go AMD or if Nvidia ever supports it The stand is where everything plugs into making a very neat desktop 2560x1080 might be low but at least I have the power to run it for the next 3 years+ The Idea behind wanting this monitor + viewing benchmarks Most of us here on LTT Forums are Gamers, Being Gamers we can secretly admit to getting over excited by certain things that make less difference than we all make out. However 160hz is 160hz, you can't escape that right? What about if the monitor in question decides to blur in the most random places ? What if the panel in question uses a tech that suffers majorly from blurring and or ghosting ? This is where we hit the main issue with the monitor and unfortunately the moment i decided enough was enough, although we will get to that part later. There are moments of sheer beauty and bliss with this monitor, I liken it to having the occulus rift jump infront of you and enlarge. You really become part of the action - or at least looking in through a beautiful window. Despite the low res and low DPI of the monitor I highly doubt there are 10 monitors that will display Unigine Valley in a more beautiful way, it became this hypnotic beautiful world that i wanted to jump inside and feel every single branch and leaf ; No longer just a benchmark oh no, it had become a world of fantasy and dreams. So far so good right ? Well that leads us onto : Gaming I understand that this forum might be one of the last places that i can expect to get any sympathy for my plight once i mention that i first noticed it on FIFA 17. Yes that addictive EA money grabbing football (or Soccer for those that like to call FOOTball a game that you throw the ball with....;) ) game. The players would run forward and behind them would be a ghost. This is where i started to notice the issues with the monitor and sadly the issues that persist to this moment whilst writing on it. 35 inches is a massive jump from 23.4 and it takes getting used to. When you do start to pay attention to the whole screen the last thing you want to see is that away from the centre in a fast paced or constantly moving camera game ; that there is intense blurring on certain aspects of the game. I honestly at this point thought ahh your being and idiot just mess around with settings ! 7 Days later and it's still driving me insane, like a itch on your back you can't reach but still give it a try because you will get to it if you just stretch that little bit more.... It's not as bad in all games but that doesn't really matter if it affects 40% of the games you play ; Tomb Raider is essentially Mega Motion Blur - Then you turn motion blur on. I am a gamer, i work 9-5 everyday and all i want is to come home and play for a few hours and be lost inside a world not constantly looking out for the moment it really starts to blur. It has to be noted that in the world of computing we all can forget how much £500 is, and how much £500 should buy you. I have a Titan Maxwell X that i got last month for 1/3 the launch price which was the most expensive computing part i had bought until this monitor last week. To have the disappointment of it lacking the clarity and sharpness of old TN Panels really is the kicker. Conclusion So to end, i sent the monitor back and am currently waiting until next year to hopefully save a little more and get a 3440x1440 Magic Monitor. Such a shame about this monitor though Rating 1.9/5 P.S This is still a Draft just wanted to get it out

My apologies if this has been asked (many times) before, as I know this is a popular topic. I'm looking to purchase a new 1440p 144hz monitor for the build I completed a couple of months back, as I am currently using an old 1080p 60hz IPS. G-sync or G-sync compatible Freesync is a big plus. Both VA and IPS panels seem like a fine choice here, although I am used to an IPS so I am not sure if the color difference in the VA would be overly apparent especially when I work on the occasional video/photo editing. Budget is around 300-550 USD, but lower is really better here. I've been looking at the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ, but it is at the very edge of my price range. Others I have been considering are the Acer XZ271U and XB271HU, MSI Optix MPG27CQ, and the AOC AG273QCX. Any help would be super appreciated!

I have been wondering for a while on which type of panel to buy. If either va or ips. I had two main choices for both that stood out for me which were the Acer Xb27iHu or the msi wqhd 2k. I thing which is making me hesitant is that I live in the Caribbean and if something such as black light bleeding, which what I found out happens with va panels a lot returning the monitor would be difficult and a long process. So I was wondering if to go with the ups monitor or take he chance with the va?

Hello, I'm looking for a 144Hz gaming monitor to pair with my 4K 60Hz monitor. I already have the other monitor for daily use, editing and to watch movies, so this monitor would be just for high pace fps games, hence I'm just looking for raw performance and speed, still picture quality needs to be decent. Would you recommend me a VA or TN panel? why? If you have any good monitor suggestions let me know (1080p ~24 in) Thanks!

Hi, I wish to buy a 1080p monitor around $150 which is atleast 75Hz around 24". I would be playing on the upcoming Ryzen 5 Vega APU (its either 3600G or 3300G) and maybe would add a RX580 down the line so I do require FreeSync. I really don't want a TN panel because of my pure hatred for them but also need a fast IPS and VA panel because all my life, (I'm 18 lmao) I've only seen a CRT, except the TN on my laptop and IPS on my tablet. I have done quite some homework and cut short to these monitors. Suggest which is the best among these or if you have used one out of these mentioned and it meets my criteria, feel free to suggest. AOC G2460VQ6 24" LG 24MP59G-P 23.8" DELL SE2717H 24" AOC 24V2Q 23.8" ACER NITRO VG240Y 23.8" AOC 24V2H 23.8" Thanks!

I've been doing a lot of searching for a good monitor that will serve both gaming and workstation purposes. I was going for a 4K until discovering that it's still highly experimental and anything beyond 60Hz seemed only available on a 27" monitor, which I found a bit too small for that resolution. So I went on searching for a good 144Hz one that also uses IPS/VA panel technology due to better picture quality and viewing angle, only to read/hear in reviews they all have issues with backlight bleeding as well as test results showing slow response times. Now I find myself wondering whether I should invest in a 144Hz now or wait for new releases or buy something else. I currently have literally no monitor besides a 10 years old 42" 1080p LCD TV that burns your eyes. The new system will use a i9-9900K processor and 2080 Ti graphics card which I thought at least deserves a good monitor to work and play games with Because I don't plan on using this computer solely / primarily for gaming I thought it should be flat instead of curved These are a few considerable options when searching for a <4ms response time: Acer Predator XB271HU ViewSonic XG2703-GS Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD Asus MG279Q Asus ROG Swift PG279Q What do you think I should go for? Any (other) recommendations?

I'm looking to buy a new monitor and I do not know witch panel to pick or what resolution. I want at least 144hz refresh rate and 27' screen size. I'm a casual gamer. I play singleplayer games such as Assasins Creed, Far Cry... and FPS games (Rainbow six, CS GO...) For the panel i'm up for any as long as it has good color reproduction. Can be a TN but my current monitor (Benq XL2411z dosen't have that). As for resolution I'm split between 1080p and 1440. I would play single player games in 1440 and other in 1080 (for more FPS). Is it worth the upgrade? My setup is GTX 1080ti , i5 7600k and 16 GB of RAM and the buget is 500€ Thank you for answers!
