Hi, I just got a monitor with USB C and I already have a GPU with USB C output. Any benefits using USB C instead of DP? Beside data transfer. Quality? Frames? Max output? I have 3440x1440 165hz monitor.

Okay to explain my charger port broke on my note 9 and I wanna hold on to this phone because newer phones just aren't worth it. So I got a charger port from ebay which I just installed it and the mic doesn't work during calls and on discord I sound very distanced from the mic. I got new back glass too but I ended breaking my old one and new one prying off the back glass sadly when I realized something wasn't right. I did test it before putting the back glass on but it didn't help matters when it was reassembled. So I ordered the charger port from Ifix it this time (which prior I didn't know was possible, new back glass with plastic covering the adhesive because the other one didn't have new adhesive just the old that was oddly reusable, and a case both from ebay . Overall tho I'm just curious to why it didn't work and or how I could test the mic to make sure it doesn't work completely because it does charges with the usb c port now.

Its pretty common for laptops to have usb c ports that with hubs/dock be split off to HDMI, ethernet, several usb, etc. Can the same be said for usb c ports from a computer's motherboard/usb c pcie expansion? What do I need to look for in pcie expansion cards to have that capability? I'm in a situation where I need to constantly move my pc between my Living room for and my room fairly frequently until I can save up for a dedicated pc in the living room. I think having a usb c hub ready in my room already setup to my drawing monitor/monitor/keyboard will save me a lot of time fumbling with ports and shit.

Everyone knows that macs have thunderbolt ports. My mac does too. I have a thunderbolt dock. It has two DisplayPort outputs. Here's the thing. I am the curious type, and I'm wondering, has anyone connected a mac to a display using USB-C alt mode? Any youtube videos or blog posts? It's easy to mistake Thunderbolt 3 DisplayPort and USB-C alt mode DisplayPort. I'll repeat myself: I already have thunderbolt. It works fine.

My partner has a 2019 Macbook Air with USB C Thunderbolt3 ports. She also has two Apple LG 4K Monitors and KBM (these monitors painfully only use usb c thunderbolt). She want to build a gaming PC and use the same KBM and Monitors with this PC. Looking for a decent usb c thunderbolt 3 switch? that takes two pc inputs

I recently purchased a laptop, The Asus Laptop 15 X515JA. I needed the extra ports provided when using a usb-c hub with the laptop. Upon trying to use a usb-c hub. It showed up with error that the device is not recognized. The usb-c hub's ports behaved as followed The usb 3.1 ports only ran at usb 2 . The HDMI port just didn't work at all. The ethernet worked. I tested with another hub and got the same results. I updated the drivers in device manager and that still did no solve my issue.

I need an USB-C hub which connects to my USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with DP 1.4 port. The Displayport is the most important thing from everything else but I would also need multiple USB-A ports for peripherals and other stuff. The DP should be capable of 1080p at 144 Hz (or 120 Hz im still deciding(or 1440p 120 Hz)).

hello, I need help because I have no idea about monitors, there are so many and so many things to consider that I don't know how to do. I need a monitor with a type C port to connect a MacBook Pro that I use to work. I would keep the resolution as high as possible without scaling problem. also space is important so around 24-27 inches, no more because I have not much space and I usually move every 6 months so I need something can I can put In a car easily. I will also use it for gaming, nothing too fancy, no competitive gaming but I like a nice resolution. price should be around 350 euros. do you have any suggestion? thank you so much in advance.

I made the mistake of confusing the USB C Gen 1 and 2 wehn buying myself a motherboard, and now I ended up with a VDH WIFI PRO board which only comes with a USB C Gen 1 header. I wanted to add an expansion so that I could have the USB C Gen 2 entrance, but I can't figure out how. I saw that there is a USB 3.0 to USB C Gen 2 gadget that could fix the problem, but this board only has one of those and I want to still be able to use it. My thought process then was to find a cable that coud give me another USB 3.0 header, but because this board is a micro ATX, there is not the additional PCIE entrance to work it. I need to find a way to directly get USB C Gen 2 header or be get an extra USB 3.0 header to use the expansion gadget with it. Any links to cables or ideas I could use to fix this are more than welcome.

Hey guys, thanks in advance for any help. So I bought this Dell G3 3590 about a month ago and ever since I first used it, I have been experiencing problems when connecting anything via USB-C to it. When I plug my phone to use it with Dex, it almost never works, and when I tried to connect an iPad via the USB-C port, it also just charges it, with no connection appearing on Windows (everything works just fine via the USB-A ports, though). Also, even when I plugged a USB-C headset, it kinda worked (audio was normal but the mic wouldn't record) but showed "not enough USB controller resoures", even though it was the only thing connected. In device manager, it shows as "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)". I have tried the BIOS, as well as updating all the drivers, but no luck so far. Don't know if it is an issue on Windows 10 v. 2004 or some kind of interference between it and some Dell or Nvidia driver.

Hey Everyone, I love my MacBook Pro 2017 - specs in my signature (since its part of the issue, it is the version with just 2 USB-C Ports), although I wouldn't mind one with higher specs - but that's a different discussion for another time. Brief Description of issue: Basically, I'm running into an issue where my MacBook is losing internet Wi-Fi connectivity when I use a dongle or a USB-C to A adapter. I think know what's causing it - according to other users on the internet, its due to the shielding (or lack there off) in the adapters. Its causing the signal to either short or block or something. Now, this is annoying for many reasons - most notably, the lack of Wi-Fi, but more so that due to the lack of storage on my machine (only 128GB SSD) I basically have to use external storage, and I also like to use my MacBook on my monitor while I'm at a desk - for that odd occasion for when I decide to use OS X. As such, I need the extra ports provided either by a dongle or a dock. Main Question: Can anyone recommend a good, fairly cost effective dock that can provide multiple USB-A Ports (preferably at USB 3.0 Speeds for storage purposes), at least 1 HDMI output, and possibly an ethernet port. But most importantly, they know or at least can confirm that they do not cause any signal issues with the MacBook Pro. I don't use Thunderbolt, so if possible - I want to avoid getting a Thunderbolt Dock as it would basically just end up being used as a glorified USB-C Hub. My budget is around the £20-£30 mark. I don't really want to spend more, but if I have to - then I will. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and sorry for making you read a wall of text - but I though it'd be best to at least explain the problem.

I can connect my S20 with my monitor (HP Pavillion 32QHD) via a USB-C Cable (10 Gbit/s) and DEX instantly works. The resolution is set to 1080p even though my monitor is 1440p and my phone shows a 1440p option, which I`m not able to choose (btw, my monitor supports DP 1.2 via USB-C), so the monitor, the cable and my phone should support everything that`s needed for 1440p. Is that a restriction from Samsung to use their proprietary HDMI adapter or is there some software solution/setting I first need to activate? Hope someone can help me.

Hello there, im new to the Forum and i had a Question regarding USB Chargers. I just recently Ordered a Dell XPS 13 7390, i got a Oneplus 7T Pro and a Nintendo Switch. Since all of these devices use a USBC Charger i was thinking about just using one for all of those devices for Travel. My Problem is that i dont know much about different Wattages and all of that (basically Chargers in general), so i was wondering if somebody could recommend a "one for all" device to me, that can handle all of them. Thanks in advance yeebig

Thought about those quirky boards that adds a full size pcie for an external GPU through the Laptop's mini pcie slot usually used for wifi adapter and thought to myself if it has enough bandwidth for a gpu why not an add in card for usb c/usb 3.1? after searching around I manage to stumble upon this one: https://cablematic.com/en/products/adapter-minipcie-to-usb-31-type-c-reversible-MS07300/ Using this can it theoretically connect to a usb hub that can output hdmi to an external monitor and all the other one cable wonder that usb c can provide? The convenience factor is several times over worth giving up having wifi. And will be a matter of just placing in the card, buying a usb c extension cable and make a hole in the laptop's housing to accommodate the usb c port. Is any of this possible as I described it?

Hey so i was wondering if it would be possible for a mobile device (android/iphone) to produce a video output and data connection to a computer simultaneously using any sort of dongles? I have tried a few usb-c hub/dongles for this and i was able to get the video out from those but none of them allowed the phone to be picked up the on the computer as how it would usually do without the hub/dongle in between (i.e. for transferring files, getting an adb connection, etc). Does anyone here know about any hub/dongle or even any other way to get both the hdmi connection and the transfer files working simultaneously?

Im currently switching from my pc to a macbook as my daily driver as I no longer have time for gaming and im trying to figure out one issue. My current setup is a PC connected to a 144hz 1440p gaming monitor via DP (which can also run properly on HDMI 2.0 afaik) and a 4k 60 hz TV via HDMI and i would like to still use them with my mac (monitor for work and TV for media consumption) but the problem is M1 supports only one external display. So I would like to have a device that supports switching between target displays via a button most preferably built in to a thunderbolt/usbc hub. Do such hubs exist? I know i could just switch cables depending on which display I want to use but I would like to have the best possible solution to my problem. Ive also seen some KVM hubs but im not sure if this solves my issue or if im gonna overspend on hardware features Im not gonna use. I know things like Ugreen HDMI splitter exist but i would like to have it built in to my hub so that I dont have a cable mess on my desk. So if anyone has anything to recommend Id be glad to read through your suggestions.

Hardware: Lenovo ThinkBook G2 ITL i5/mx450 USB-C dock SSK SC200 (worked for 4 months before the update) 2 Lenovo S24e-20 monitor attached with HDMI to the dock Problem: I was in a Teams call, Lenovo Vantage did an update for driver, saw the audio driver updating and they stopped working , same as the 2 monitor. So i did a reboot (Vantage was asking for it). From this update the display stopped working with the USB-C dock, they display in windows setting but grayed out and in advanced setting says "Display 2 not active " "Display 3 not active". They work plugged directly in the notebook or with USB-C -> HDMI adapter What i tried Updating or downgrading Nvidia and Intel driver, checking I/O , Thunderbolt, chipset driver. I tried with another laptop same model, same result. Even in intel graphics software i have the option to "activate" the monitor but nothing happens. Also tried to clean "monitor history" in regedit.

Laptop specs are below, but shouldn't be too important! Hi all! I am a college student that uses a laptop for everything. I dock it to a monitor to work while I'm in my dorm. I have an Anker powered USB Hub that I plug into the USB A port on the laptop, a USB C to DisplayPort Cable that is plugged into the USB C slot, and a USB C dongle that I have ethernet connected to on the other USB C slot. The Anker dock is completely full. 10 ports, 3 of which are used for charging. Nothing extremely data hungry is going through there. I have listed the ports and what they're used for below if it helps! I would really like to have a laptop that has one cord for everything, which isn't possible as it requires a barrel plug to charge properly. So my question: How much can I put on a single USB C port? I would like to find a dock that I can pass DisplayPort through, separate out the audio, attach ethernet, and hook up the Anker hub. With all that connected, is that too much for a single USB C port? If so, would separating out the DisplayPort to its own port solve the issue? Thank you so much for the help! I am happy to answer any questions you have. I’ve just ordered a new keyboard with a 1000hz polling rate. It comes with a usb-c cable and I don’t have that capability with my current setup. I was looking at getting a pci express card this one, rather than buying a new motherboard which also means I will need a new cpu so that is not an option for me currently. Will the pci-e card be sufficient for the polling rate of my keyboard, or will the pci-e extension bottleneck the data transfer?

Hi does this motherboard support USB Type C front panel, I know it has a USB C port at the rear but does it support USB C front panel from a case. Help would be appreciated. I just bought a new laptop with USB-C. My currently laptop also have thunderbolt3/USB-C. I was wondering how I could move files from my current laptop to my new laptop using USB-C. I plugged in a cable into both laptops and nothing appeared in explorer, so I'm assuming that I am overlooking something. Suggestions?
