Hello, for some weird reason my usb c to usb c cable is not getting recognised when I plug it into my phone and won't show anything up on my pc. Also, it doesn't charge properly. I tried it in a laptop and again nothing shows up there either. It used to work and saying it's outputting about 1.85W - 2.65W when charging. Is it my phone, motherboard or something else. I've tried 2 other cables and still no luck. Any help? Would be greatly appreciated.

So I have a weird problem with USB C on my phones, and it does not feel as straight forward as it should. Let me explain: So I was excited to switch off of Micro USB. Since USB C started making it to phones I have had a Moto G, A Nexus 5x, a Pixel 4a, and a Pixel 6, while my wife has rocked an LG, and a Samsung G10. Now I can be a bit of a Linus, hence why my current phone is newer then my wife's, but I have consistently run into a problem with my devices that my wife has not shared. At some-point all of my devices stop being able to connect properly to their charging cables, even ones my wife has no problems with. As a result I have gone through the trouble of 1 buying brand name cables (Ankers are my go to), 2 buying high wattage chargers, 3 aggressively cleaned my charging port, and 4 started using wireless charging to reduce the wear on my port. I often have to twist my cables a few time to connect (especially when I need a faster charge, or use Android auto), and even then the connection is unstable. However my wife who is on a 4 year old phone has had none of these problems with the same cables. I can be rougher on my phones, but if I am wearing out my phone port I would expect new cables to have trouble, but that isn't what I see, and if it was the cables wearing out then I would expect my wife to have the same issues, but she doesn't. I am not sure what to do, and am wondering if anyone here has seen similar issues and might have tips for how to address. Thanks

Any recommendation for a switch that can switch the peripherals to different computers without too much lag or delay (preferably none at all)? And one that would work in bootloader or BIOS is also a must. My current switch has a bit of a few second delay to switch computers (slow enough for me to get delayed), and it doesn't work on bootloader (I use rEFInd) or BIOS.

I live in Sweden close to an IKEA and need to buy a bunch of USB-C to USB-C cables that will only be used for charging. However, they need to be able to deliver around 35 W (Watts) to iPad and MacBook Air devices. I found SITTBRUNN USB-C till USB-C and LILLHULT USB-C till USB-C on IKEAs website. How much W do these deliver?

I ordered a iPhone 15 Pro Max & was wondering what USB C 3.0 cable to order for the faster transfer speeds. I don't particularly want to buy apples USB C Pro cable for $70 U.S. Would like to find a cable from a reputable manufacturer that will last & won't junk out after a few months of realistic use. I don't plan on buying a bunch of cables from random companies that I've never heard of just to test whether or not it works. If anyone has any good suggestions any help or direction would be appreciated.

Is there a driver or virtual monitor program that would allow me to use my USB C DP as an input? Im trying to use my windows tablet as a monitor for the steamdeck. And miracast via windows projection is a bit messy with the steamdeck (i havent gotten it to work so far on the steamdeck and testing it on my phone the display was laggy). I tested my windows tablet and was able to use USB C to HDMI to connect to my TV. Same thing with the steamdeck as well. I think part of the issue is that the laptop doesnt appear to be a display for the steamdeck. Theres gotta be some driver for the port or program that would work for this right?

I built a pc a couple of months ago and it has been doing very well. My only complaint is that I have recently purchased an Oculus Quest 2 and the motherboard I have is a Gigabyte B450 Aorus M motherboard and I am currently using college wifi so using Steam Vr is absolute garbage. Streaming games from my pc looks absolutely awful and is pretty much unplayable. Any suggestions for motherboards with USB C headers of USB C expansion cards that will work with my motherboard??? P.S. I have an NZXT H510 case so I have a front USB C on the case, Thanks

Soooo I'm one of those people. Basically looking for a cable that goes from 3.2 gen 2 female internal to male type c. Mobo only has rear IO for it, but that's under the [admittedly easy to pop off] top panel, rather than an internal header. Is there something to be done here other than a SATA3 or PCIE expansion card? I know that the SATA card will pin me in terms of power delivery, and the PCIE is not an option due to ITX reasons. Is there seriously no cable that goes from internal female C to male C? And yes, I'm aware I could have solved the problem by just getting the strix board. That money went to the current blood tax for a 1660s short. Any help is appreciated. At this point, If I can get a pair of properly specced connectors, I'll make my own cable.

Hi Everyone! I'm placing a new build in the crawlspace just underneath my office. The temperature in the crawlspace is pretty stable ranging from about 50-70 degrees across the seasons. Cable lengths will need to be about 10 feet long to reach the crawlspace build. I've got monitor cable, computer power switch, and speaker cables all solved. What I need is a good solution for getting multiport USB access to the computer. I envision a hub mounted under my desk with a local power supply and a cable to the remote computer in the crawlspace below. Ideally, I'd need about 6 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C ports. The computer has a 3.2 gen 2 USB PCI-E card installed that has a single USB-C output. I have a 10 ft long active USB-C cable to connect the below-floor build to the deskmounted USB hub. I have a couple of questions: Will using an active cable degrade mouse and keyboard performance? (I like to game and don't want my Razer gaming gear to get laggy). If it's going to screw things up, is there a better option? Second, Most of the hubs I see have built in connectors to plug into the computer. A local power adapter is fine but I need to be able to use my own USB-C cable to connect the hub to the source computer. Does anyone know of any units that have an adequate number of ports and a connection option that fits the bill? Thanks for any help!!!!

I've run into this problem with my external SSD where when i connect it to my Thunderbolt connection on my Windows PC and put my PC to sleep/shut it down, that my SSD won't turn off and starts getting hot. I assume it has something to do with Thunderbolt charging devices like phones while the pc is asleep but when i turned the feature "charge Devices via thunderbolt" off in the BIOS it didn't have any impact on this wierd behavior. Any idea what could be going on here? it's been bothering me quite some time now. PC: HP Victus 16.1 inch | Windows 10 | Product number: 4K245EA#ABH SSD: Samsung T5 1 TB SSD If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi all! This might be a bit of an odd one but does anyone have any recommendations for an "All USB C" desk top hub? If such a thing even exists... Ideally I want a solid block to stick to my desk that will let me plug a handful of USB C devices in - Think this https://www.anker.com/products/variant/usbc-to-4port-usb-30-hub/A83050A1 but swap the 4 USB A for C. Any help would be much appreciated!

Using a HP Omen 30L with USB C 3.0 ports, but it isnt thunderbolt. Is there an adapter or specific cable I can use? So desktop is USB C port and portable monitor is thunderbolt, but no markings. The monitor is an Acer PM161Q 15.6" Widescreen LCD Monitor Used a HDMI adapter to USB C, used a normal usb c cable too. Also used the cable that came with the monitor The cable that came with the monitor works with my office laptop which is a Dell and with it's thunderbolt port. Any help would be great.

Hello, I have recently purchased a 4K, 144HZ monitor Gigabyte M28U, I have the only display port cable to connect the monitor to my gaming PC and it works fine. However, I also have a work laptop ThinkPad X13 Gen 1 (https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/ThinkPad-X13-Intel-/p/20T2007PUK) Since there is only one display port on the monitor I do not want to have to keep changing the cables, so I would like to use the USB C port on the work laptop to connect to the USB C port on the monitor. The specifications of the laptop show that is able to output 4K @60hz but I do not know what cable I need https://inquirecontent2.ingrammicro.com/Manufacturer-Brochure/1065699499.pdf Is this cable sufficient to run 4K 60hz please? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thunderbolt-Transfer-Compatible-Alienware-Chromebook/dp/B08GLCQBYD/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Any assistance would be much appreciated. Many thanks

Hey! I was just wondering what would be better experience wise when expanding the Steam Deck's storage. The SD Card (UHS-I) slot meant for this can transfer up to "104 MB/s". But the USB-C connector on it should be able to go up to "2000MB/s" How viable is using, say the Framework 1TB expansion card (or another small 1TB USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 drive). Instead of a 1TB SD Card. 'Cause where I live, SD cards get pretty expensive here, so I'm just looking for alternatives.

So I can't remember if it's from Austin Evens channel or one of the LTT channels, but someone recently reviewed a laptop that was just a battery and a screen and the intention of using your phone on it as a laptop. The computer also folded. Can anyone give me the name of the device

I'm after a main front projector light for computing most of my compute is on well lit road but just enough is out of town that i do need a decently bright front light. I've been really trying to put off buying a light that isnt USB C rechargeable as im liking to keep the light going for years and surely soon micro will finally die??? Cheers all!

I have an issue with the usb c front connector on my case and it does not seem to be compatible with my motherboard. I have the case Phantek Evolve X with 3.1 gen2 type c cable and Asus Z-390F motherboard with 3.1 gen1 connector. The thing is that the cable and connector seem to be very similar but I'm not finding internal cable for 3.1 gen1 to compare with and the cable from the case seems to fit.

Hey all. My brother's looking for a power bank for his phone etc., and I offered to get him one. He wants something with 20,000mAh+ which has USB C. The first one he pointed me to was this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0895P2M5M/ Trouble is, it's one of those generic products made by a reseller and then listed on Amazon under a dozen different "manufacturers", and looking for the model name -- HX160S4 -- reveals quite a few poor reviews, with things like it dying after only a few months, things like that. I found an alternative from a good brand (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RPNHZDC/), however I'm still not settled on what to get. The solar charging part is not necessary, only a bonus -- like I said, the requirements are a high capacity and USB C, hence I also considered something from Anker: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07S829LBX/ (though my brother has had a poor experience with Anker previously). Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" and I wanted to see if I can use it to charge all my devices fast. I want to charge my iPhone, watch, and iPad and I know they all will charge, I just want to know if anyone knew how many watts the MacBook can give out for each.

I can connect my S20 with my monitor (HP Pavillion 32QHD) via a USB-C Cable (10 Gbit/s) and DEX instantly works. The resolution is set to 1080p even though my monitor is 1440p and my phone shows a 1440p option, which I`m not able to choose (btw, my monitor supports DP 1.2 via USB-C), so the monitor, the cable and my phone should support everything that`s needed for 1440p. Is that a restriction from Samsung to use their proprietary HDMI adapter or is there some software solution/setting I first need to activate? Hope someone can help me.

Looking for a hub where it has 5+ USB 3.0 ports, would be nice with 1 or 2 USB C, but not a game-breaker. If it needs its own power brick, it needs to have a decent length, since it will be going on a standing desk. Would be great if it could be around the 100$ mark. Edit: Will be used with a desktop

Hey, I wasn't sure which section should this go into but since chargers are peripherals in my opinion , hence I posted this here.I am a long time Mac user and I have 2 Magsafe 2 chargers, both have died a gradual death by the cable slowly fraying and breaking from near the end that plugs into the MacBook, am sure the charge bricks themselves are still perfect and say what you will I have never found Apple's charge bricks have any problems, if anything I've noticed they out perform similarly speced charge bricks but am not engineer. I would like to be able to re use those charge bricks and give them a new life but for those who don't know Magsafe 2 charger don't have a removable cable and certainly don't have a USB c port on them. I wonder if there is a way to retro fit a USB c port on them or something through which they can be used a as general purpose charger for my phones, cameras etc. 1 of them is 45W and the other is 85W both would make for really great chargers, specially given how insanely expensive most good quality 85W USB C charger are right now. Any help is appreciated guys, cheers
