When playing games, shouldn't the game use my VRAM instead of my RAM?

Hi, i bought and changed the video card to rtx 2070 my cpu ryzen 2600 during game my cpu usage 50% and gpu 50% fps are also low, i tried many ways to raise the gpu usage fully but it doesn't get. Maybe my psu 500w cheap can there be a problem from that and prevent using the gpu at full capacity?

I've a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 Service Tag: 42S8QC2 Express Service Code: 8875498322 Specs: Intel i7 - 7th Gen 7500u processor, 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) Dual Channel Ram sticks, AMD R7 M445 GPU OS: Windows 10 Version 2004 I've noticed that while gaming the shared memory (16 GB) allotted is not being used. Can anyone guide me how to Enable it or fix it? and Also is it possible to use an external GPU via the tray load DVD drive / SD Card Slot of the laptop?

so game not using my full gpu last year or so i noticed a lower fps than usual i ignored it but the last month or so in some games i really started noticing low fps than usual so i ran msi afterburner while playing some games (bf1,league of legends,csgo , etc...) i noticed low gpu usage like really low around 15 to 40% my spec are cpu : amd fx 8320-e mobo : asus m5a78l-m plus/usb 3 ram : hyper x 8gb 1600 mhz ssd 240 wd green for oc 2 tb seagate for games (its brand new) here is my nvidia control panel settings ive tried to flash my bios couple times rest the oc like 4 times -------------------------------------- i really think the problem is my psu its 500 w but its cheap one i bought it like 3 years and i didnt think about it prob not the smartest move by me but i was 15 at that time and my gpu dosent have a pin connector its mobo powered one could it be the problem or the psu ? im planning on changing the psu to another one here is the name of it COUGAR VTE 600 80+ i appreciate any help

I recently upgraded from a GTX 960 to a GTX 1660 super. My 960 ran at 5% usage while idle but my 1660 super runs at 34%?! In task manager desktop window manager and runtimeproces for client-server use the most of my GPU. Both like 12%. But there is no way to shut them down. Does anyone know how to fix this?\ Thanks and stay safe!

Another problem is that bf2 is only running at around 30-60 fps when i'm in combat and around 75 when i'm spawning in. I know this definetly isn't normal especially since my old 1060 ran it better than this. According to task manager I only use about 16-40% of my GPU. drivers are up to date, anyone help me out here?

HI! i got a new pc few daays ago: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING 16 GB Ram ddr4 two disc: a Lexar SSD (240g) and a 1 tb disc (not ssd) wind10 i't was quarentine time, and oh boy! time to play, the thing is that i got this constant error where the pc stops everything, the mouse keeps moving, but everything else is freezed, if u where writing a whatsapp mensaje it stops and when it unfreezes(it takes 15- to 40 seconds to unfreeze) the mensaje you where writing will apear.... it seems to be happening randomly, either if u are doing a document just browsing on google, or playing.... since rn its quarentine, nobody will come to check, so i decided to look for a fix myself, after some indagation i found that when it happens one of the disc (disc c the one that has windows installed) goes 100% but it isn't writing or reading or writing(if u look in proceces u can't se the 100% only while looking at the graphs) i look for information about the problem on the internet and found diferents solutions: (1) (2) those are the most common solutions i found, i did those and still, it freezes... im just a dude that just wanted to kick some butts in some games... but turned to be an idiot with a computer thats randomly freezes i'm willing to cooperate, if there's more info needed! (also it's my first pc i have, i had a laptop, so this stuff it's new to me)

The goals I'm trying to achieve. Lower data usage as much as possible. They only apps i want to have access to the internet are programs i need to play games and the game themselves. My first idea was to block all applications communication by creating a rule in the firewall and then just white listing all the games i want to plan. Turns out it is not that simple. Anyone have in ideas on complicating this? Filler I work/live on a Campground and have access to unlimited internet through satellite. so i can stream movies, download games, updates, etc. (Satellite Ping is to high) My 4g data plan is good enough to play games online but windows 10 sucks a lot of data and must of that is background programs i don't need run. Update: I set my computer up to metered. Thanks TheNuzziNuzz I also downloaded and am using Netlimiter. Thanks anonymousGuy. (Netlimiter was everything i was looking for. So I noticed this about a day or two ago, but my computer, even at idle is consuming 7-8 gb of my 16gb of ram. Ive updated all my drivers, windows is up to date, and google has been useless to me. Any ideas? edit* task manager shows nothing consuming all this ram either

I installed Aida64 and noticed the CPU Throttling Graph in the System Stability TEst, but I cant find where I can get such a graph for GPU Throttling. How can I monitor if my GPU is throttling? I have MSI Afterburner installed, my GPU Usage is going up and down really fast, but my temps are 50 C°. So I dont know whats going on.

So i dunno how this works, but my bro is using my pc to render one of his videos at the moment. The thing is, i feel like my PC should be able to complete tasks like this faster? i know CUDA acceleration is not enabled, but CPU usage also seems pretty low. any experts out here willing to help? also, i have 32Gb RAM, why is it only using 7?

Hi, I think the question is clear, is that normal? I have checked task manager, no suspicious process, that eats ram and all tabs closed. CPU is also at 40% and disk on 60%. I have ddr3 1600Mhz 8gb ram and yes, after this happened I am definetly considering and upgrade

Hello guys, I'll keep this one short. I bought a 6600K thinking I'd use my PC in a way a 6700K wouldn't have been beneficial for me (gaming and light multitasking). And the exact opposite has happened: I'm streaming a lot of content to a chromecast and it uses around 30% CPU already, then I can't play because I get so much stutters that I miss out on a second of gameplay at times. I've also started making videos for myself and rendering is okay to be honest but what's really bothering me is that I was planning to buy a 1070 but my current 970 is already maxing my CPU out in BF1.. Will I need a 6700K? Won't the 1070 be held back too much? Thanks for answers

So, I'm having an issue with windows where my ram usage is higher than I believe it should be, a lot higher. I sit at about 70% after booting, and even after dumping my ram will cause it to slowly climb back up to at least 60% over the next hour. It was at a point where it would actually hit 99%, but after fixing my pagefile from 16gb to 3 gb, it got me to where I am now. I cant find anything out of place, I dont download anything on this computer, so I couldnt have contracted some shit virus, and I cant fix it. SO any information would be great! Hello, I have a big problem since 2 days. When i start the Computer and start playing (let's say BF3) i have a normal fps count over 150+ with a GPU-Load with about 80%+ (temperature at about 60°C). But when i play a while the load drops slowly and so does the fps counter... it gets down to 25% load and really annoying laggy gameplay. (CPU temp sits around 65°C) I really don't know what happened in those last 2 days... before that it worked just fine. And i have this Problem with all games so far (LoL, Overwatch, BF1, BF3, BF3 etc.) I reinstalled the latest nVidia driver and so on... And as soon as i restart the PC the problem is gone for a while and comes back again... Can anyone tell me what this is? GPU: ASUS STRIX-GTX1080TI OC CPU: i7-7700K @4.2Ghz (was at 4.7 but i lowered it again in hope that that was the problem) Other specs are attached. Thanks already for some answers!

Hello! I have a Lenovo Y700 15ACZ Gaming Laptop! I recently installed Chrome (with no existing extensions) to see if it can replace Firefox. Everything was going well until I tried watching 60fps video on YouTube. I checked task manager to find that my system was at 60-90% CPU usage while watching those videos! I tried searching around some forums to try and fix this issue. For example: I downloaded the h264ify extension, went into incognito mode, cleared everything, disabled hardware acceleration, reinstalled Chrome, and scanned for viruses and malware. I did a test with the same video quality in Firefox as well, and Firefox only plays videos at 20-30%. What do I do to fix this? I really like some of Chrome's features, but it's a shame I can't do simple tasks without running into issues! Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -

I bought a couple of days ago the rx 480 msi gaming x and i notice that in some games the usage of the card it oscilate from 0-100% for a couple of seconds. The cpu remains at arounds 30-45%. So what might that be? The games that i usualy notice that is at moba, ac black flag sometimes at ac syndictate.

Hi there, its me again with another question I was spontaniously looking at the Windows Task Manager at my Alienware M17x with 16 Gigs of RAM. I was kinda confused because at the moment i was stuck at using 82%(!!!!) of that RAM. I digged in further and discovered that my Windows User is using around 900 MBs of RAM with Chrome open. The Task Manager still displays me a Usage of 13.1 GB out of 15.9GB installed. Any suggestions why? How can i lower that

Guys currently i am on another place with my Laptop, but i experiencing serious disk problems and i need your help! So basically i have to find a way to fix random 100% spikes with my HDD without real usage. Whenever it happens the Laptop goes extremly slow and sometimes even frezes completely for an amount of time (anywhere between 10 seconds to over 1 minute) until it just kinda fixes itself and stops being on 100%. On the Task Manager HDD display shows that sometimes its just 100% spike for a second or few and sometimes it just continues up to 1-2minute and lower itself after to 0-6%. Is there any way to fix this?

I've tried to do something with my old PC, and while I was looking at the cpu usage and cpu temps, I noted that Cpu usage in Aida64 fluctuates between about 20% and 80% while idle. Later on I noted that this fluctuation is related to Task manager: when it's closed the cpu usage (according to aida64 and also Perfomance monitor (included in windows 10)) is sitting at around 70-80%, as soon as i open tm, it drops at 20%. Any idea why that would happen? FIY: i'm using windows 10 creators update and the cpu is an intel core i5 2310 on an asus p8p67 board.
