I recently checked my Amazon credits and saw I had enough money to buy R6, so I basically got R6 for free. I wasn't aware that the digital key Ubisoft sells is Uplay only, before that I thought Uplay is just a DRM which requires Steam for games to run and NOT A STANDALONE GAME DISTRIBUTION SERVICE. Silly me, now I can't even remove R6 from Uplay library and if I buy R6 via Steam Uplay is just going to make a duplicate version of the same game. Ubisoft customer support aren't helping either. I asked for them to transfer R6 to my burner account and I still got no reply. I wonder if transferring R6 will actually remove it from Uplay library. I like Steam "what's new feature" which Uplay doesn't have. Also does anyone have any experience regarding Uplay or the situation i'm in currently, and how many R6 players actually use Uplay version of this game?

Dear Linus, I have an idea that you can show in your YouTube video. Personally I am a real fan of linux and I would really like it if you want to demonstrate this project. I came up with this idea when I saw your steam caching server and immediately thought why no part 2? This is the idea. You have access to a few gigabit network cards. What happens when you put these cards in bonding mode and the steam caching server runs on that server? will downloading go faster? Try to put two network cards in bonding mode on the Linux client. I recommend using bonding mode 0 (Round-Robin), which ensures that all traffic passes over 2 network cards. I'm curious if you put both the server and the client in bonding, the speed actually doubled Some URL's to the bonding guide Look at this post: Bonding on ubuntu to learn more about bonding on Ubuntu Linux Sorry about my bad English

Im having some problem with Uplay. It tells me that there is no connection but I have a stable internet connection. This problem started after I started downloading For Honor, the download went to about 5% with speeds of 10kbps . Then Uplay stopped connecting. Ive tried many fixes (except for a fix with told me to fiddle around in the host directory in System32). Has anyone else been having this problem? and how do I fix it?

So today my friend had noticed his name was changed, also all of his friends were blocked, then he checked his Emails and realized someone had requested to change his name etc. Points to state- He had 2 factor authentication He had his phone on him at the time he recieved the Email This has now been resolved and he has got access to his account and changed it back to how it was, it's just odd to me that people can bypass 2 step authentication.

Hi, Just wanting to know If there is a way to skip the " Allow this program to make changes to this PC " every time I launch a uplay game. Because every time when I launch the game through Moonlight Game stream I have to manually use the mouse on my desktop to remove the prompt. Any help on this would be great. Cheers.

A bit of confusion over game platforms: - So recently I got watch dogs for free on uplay - Now I want to buy the DLC - I can get just the DLC on uplay for 20$, but can get the DLC and game on steam for 20$ - I would rather have the game on steam so since it is the same price I will buy it there - I recently realized that when you buy the game on steam, it opens the uplay launcher to open the game - Since I already have the game in my account, how would this work? Thanks

Hey guys, Today my Dell XPS 15 (9560) arrived and I was eager to use it. But when I fired up steam on that glorious 4k display, it looked all blurry. Same goes for uPlay and just a lot of applications. I saw some comments on other sites after browsing around about changing my scaling to 100%, but since I use a 15" laptop I don't really want to go smaller than 200%, since it's genuinely hard to read and press the right buttons on anything less. Does anybody have any solutions? My specs: i7-7700HQ 16GB DDR4 2400MHz GTX 1050 Thanks in advance,

!!New Problem!! My games are running, I am browsing the internet pretty smoothly, streaming, facebooking all with out any problems or issues. I am using a dedicated IP as well. But none of these apps (Steam, Uplay, Epic Games, Battle Net) are connecting to the internet. I actually deleted all of my storage, formatted all storage drives, created new partitions and installed WIndows to get rid of this problem permanently. But OMG this problem is persistent and I have no idea why this is happening. When I was installing WIndows, I was doing that with a boot ready USB flash that had an older version of Windows 10. Everything was working fine (Steam, Uplay, Epic Games started working properly) until the Windows started updating itself. When it updated itself to the latest version, the problems re-appeared. I noticed that one of the virus protection definition was not installed and was getting obstructed with an error code. But I managed to fix that. But the game launcher softwares continue to persist with the connectivity problem. At this point, I am guessing that everything works fine on the older version of Windows 10. The problem occurs on the newer version. But this can't be the actual cause of the problem as thousands of people are using the softwares on latest version of WIndows 10 without any issues. I really need some advice on this. I also tried looking up the "Error code - 21" that is popping up in steam but barely anything comes up in Google or Youtube. I contacted Steam help center and they mentioned its a network issue. But I don't know WHAT is the issue with my network because everything else is working fine and the games are running online as well. Seeking for some advice.........!!!

So I was just downloading the Crew what is free now in Uplay and that reminded me about the uplays downloading speed. It seems to be limited to 10 MB/s it was really bothering me is it Uplay or something in my computer, because my normal download speed in for example Steam is 80-70 MB/s. So is it limited or is there anything that I could do to fix it (I have set the speed in the settings to unlimited). And yes I have seen something to do with the proxy setting or something, but is there a easier method.

Recently when I went to play Far Cry 4, it would just kept crashing on startup. I read online that by disabling Uplay's ingame overlay it would remove the bug, but this did not help. The situation got stranger and even more annoying when I realized that Far Cry 3 and Assassin's creed Black Flag, both games that I have bought through Steam but for some annoying reason require Uplay, would not start either (note: Watch_Dogs, which was bought on Steam and uses Uplay does work). I have tried verifying the files but I still run into the same issue. Does anyone know of any fixes for this? Specs: i7 4790k GTX 980 8Gb Kingston Hyper X Fury

I have had Rainbow since it came out and loved to play it but i recently upgraded my GPU and now it wont launch. it just says running on steam for a minute or two and then just goes away. I have tried verifying the integrity of the game cache, restarting my PC, uninstalling Uplay and then reinstalling it, and i even completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, one website said it was because of an overclocked CPU and i tried turning off my overclock, i have tried pretty much everything every forum has said and still nothing. Please, if you know any way of fixing this, let me know!

I think it's fair to say that both Origin and uPlay are along way behind Steam in terms of playerbase and sales.. It's so inconvenient having to use other game clients just to play platform "exclusives" Is it just me or would their games sell much better if they were just integrated into Steam instead of being "different" and using their own platform..?

Hello, I have a question about how things work when buying PC-Disk and PC Download. First of all I got to play The Open Beta and it was awesome and can't wait for March, 8th to come. I even made a friend to play with. I recommend it to everybody. But I have a question. I have a choice between buying the game from Steam and download it where my friend is, and buying it on Disk from the local store. Buying it on Disk is like $20 cheaper here, but my question is if I do buy it on disk, how do I play with my friend? I know the game is Uplay only - meaning it goes through Uplay even when using Steam. But does that mean that we will be able to play together? How does that work? And how Do I find him in the game? If you have played it you know that you can invite people around you (their avatar is near you). And the game is not like WOW where you choose the server, at least as far as I know - It wasn't like that in the Beta, so how do I find him if he isn't in the same server?

Hi. Today I bought the Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 combo pack. I installed both of the games fine but when I tried to open the second game, it runs the updating but then brings up some Ubisoft 'A service is unavailable'. I'm stumped as to what to do, I just want to be able to play this game. Not a big ask, Ubisoft, considering the fact that I paid good money for this game. Thanks, Alpha. PS: It isn't the Steam version or console version. Just PC executables, how they were in Windows 95.

Rainbow Six Siege does not use the dongle/DAC that comes with the HyperX Cloud 2. Therefor the microphone volume for Rainbow Six Siege is very low. I tested this when I went in CS GO had a friend listen to me. I could adjust my Mic volume with the dongle and he could hear me perfectly. However, when I jumped into a game of Rainbow Six Siege, he could not hear me at all. I tried adjusting my Mic volume with the dongle and it did not make a difference. I have all of the in game settings turned to 100 and still the same results for Rainbow Six Siege. The worst part is that HyperX is selling this headset with the game.

Hi, I am sure that this is a stupid question, but I have never pre-ordered or bought a game online except recently Battlefield 4 on Origin. So I am new with all of this. Can you tell me where is the better place to buy "The Division" - Steam or Uplay and is there a difference? There is an upcoming Beta for PC on February, 19th.

I think I might know what DRM-free means, but I don't really exactly know what it means and if someone were to ask me to explain it to them I wouldn't really be able to. So what makes GOG different from Steam,Origin,Uplay,Battlenet, etc. with the whole DRM-free feature? Which limitations are removed in a so called "DRM-free platform"?
-
First of all all those games in the bundle have Uplay DRM, I mean to say they're activated on Uplay and will be launched and played through the Uplay client only. https://www.humblebundle.com/ Why is it that I can't find the original Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six 3 listed in the Uplay Store after doing searches? If these games are available through Uplay, why doesn't their store search bring them up? Wouldn't that mean the only way to get these games through Uplay is through this bundle in the first place? I found the Original Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six 3 listed on Steam, but not the original Rainbow Six. I'm confused to why you can't even find these classic games through the Uplay store, yet they're in the bundle. You look up Rainbow Six 3 or Ghost Recon, then the newer games and addons crowd the search results, you look through to see if it's buried, then you can't find it.

I've used steam mover to move games since I've gotten my SSD, but steam mover doesn't support things like origin, uplay, etc. I've taken the "run commands myself" command steam mover uses and made a .bat for myself [and now you guys]. In simple terms: the point of this tiny script is to move games or any other program, and make it seem as if it was never moved. Even though you've moved the game from one drive to another, steam will still function 100% and think that the game was still in it's original location. Updates will still work, and nothing will change. All you have to do is change two variables on top of the script .bat: Change moveFrom to be the original directory, and moveTo to be the new directory. Important: Do not add a space after the : [moveFrom:] and do not use quotation marks [ "" ] when entering your directory Example of proper entry: set moveFrom=c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Advanced Warfare set moveTo=B:\steam\games\Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Notes: 1) The root directory you're moving to should exist. In my case that would be b:\steam\games ~ you do not need to create a folder with the name of your game 2) Run the .bat as an administrator Script: http://paste.ubuntu.com/10819470/ Just copy into notepad and save it as a .bat! Make sure you don't copy the line numbers I can't attach bats so you guys have to make your own. Enjoy! edit: had to put the script on pastebin, forums messed up the code

So all both my Uplay games which are from CDs are refusing to download, they give me the error: "Failed to start download Uplay is unable to start your download. Check that you have an active internet connection and sufficient space on your hard drive then try again." Now, the HDD I am installing it on has 200+GB of free space, and my internet is working at max strength. List of things I have tried: -Re-installing Uplay -Restarting -trying other HDD Yet to try: -using CD to try and re-install. So my question is, do I have to use the CD to re-install these games? Thanks in advance.
