Hi everyone, I want to upgrade my PC, but due to money issues I will have to buy one part at a time, so I would like to know which one I should buy first. My current rig: CPU: AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core 3.8GHz Motherboard: ASRock N68-S3 FX GPU: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series (XFX 260X) RAM: 2x DDR3 HyperX 4GB (Not sure about the clock speed tho, everywhere I look displays a different number) PSU: Thermaltake Smart Series 500W Storage: 2x 1TB HDD 1 Monitor (1920x1080) OS: Was using win 10, switched to 7 to see if it would fix some issues What I intend to get: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-Gaming/BR GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 580 Gaming, 8GB RAM: Team Group T-Force Vulcan 16GB (2x8) 2666MHz DDR4 PSU: (same) Storage: 1x 1TB HDD, 1x 120GB SSD Same monitor but plan to add at least another one OS: win 10 I don't mind getting this less know brand of RAM because it'll be cheaper, I don't have many options since I live in Brazil and hardware here is very expensive. I'm also pretty sure either my GPU or CPU is faulty, I have been experiencing sudden, brutal frame drops on games that this setup should run without any problem at all,I can't even watch youtube videos at 720p+ anymore, I have tried everything I could think of and the problem persists, so I decided it was time to finally upgrade. So, is this build fine? Should I change something? Which component should I buy first? (And if you have any thoughts on my current problem please let me know!!) Sorry if I spelled something wrong or something I wrote didn't make sense and thanks in advance!

Hello, Im looking to upgrade my venerable LGA 1155 system to one of these fancy new B450/Ryzen setups Ive been hearing so much about, but Im wondering which of my old components will be compatable with the new motherboard and processor. Ive got a budget of £200 for the upgrades but am not familiar with AMD products at all so some help choosing upgrade options would be extremely welcomed. I do some gaming (MB II: Bannerlord ftw), but primarily Im focused on 3D modelling and sculpting very high poly models, of which my current setup seems to be proper struggling with. Heres my current setup CPU Intel Core i5 3570 @ 3.40GHz 34 °C Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Hi there I'm an 18-year-old student, I'm studying industrial sciences. So draw often with CAD programs. I also like to play a game sometime. I have a laptop (Acer Aspire 5 515-51G), this laptop has 256gm SSD storage. I would upgrade it with an SSD of 500GB. In my laptop there is space left for a hard disk (2.5"). I do miss a cable to connect to my motherboard. Would it be possible to make a video of this? Or to reply with a mail? I also wondered if it would be possible to upgrade my graphics card on my laptop. I now have an NVIDEA MX150. Hopefully everything will go well with your family in these terrible times. Greetings Jakob Ingels

Hello everyone So I have my gaming computer for 6 years by now and, after watching a lot of Linus' videos and learning a lot about the wonderful world of PCs, I started to think about upgrading. I live in Brazil and that makes things a little complicated, since every tech related stuff is quite expensive, but I'll be glad with every awnser. So let me get started. Budget (including currency): Don't have one yet, but was thinking somewhere about R$4000, which is around US$700 (Yeah, the economy here is... well... complicated... someone help D:) but gladly spend US$1000 if really, really necessary. Country: Brazil Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, want to run those sweet games at 120 fps, like "Satisfactory", "Cities Skylines" with a lot of mods, etc. I don't do a lot (almost none) of graphical work, but play with Photoshop and Illustrator from time to time. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My current specs are: CPU: core i5-4400 3.2 GHz Motherboard: Asus H81M-C/BR RAM: 8 GB Corsair vengeance DDR3 (1 stick) GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 750 ti Power supply: EVGA 500w 80 plus Storage: 1 120 GB Kingston SSD 1 1TB WD Blue HDD and 1 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD OS: Windows 10 My display is an LG 22MP55, 1920x1080, 21.5" and don't plan on upgrading it (4K and high refresh rate displays are even more expensive :') ). However, I do want to upgrade my keyboard to a mechanical one (this on is just a basic membrane one, from multilaser). My main question is: is it worth upgrading mu CPU? or shoud I just upgrade my GPU and RAM? I've been thinking about one GTX 1660, but have no ideia for the RAM. I've known Intel for quite some time, but after seeing AMD with their Ryzen 5 (and more recent the Ryzen 3 3600), I was kinda tempted to go team red.. yet it would cost quite a lot an my i5 should be able to handle things for now.. I think? Hahaha. Oh, and with a GPU upgrade (and probably GPU) my power supply would also need an upgrade, right? (I know this question is quite stupid, but I don't know my current watt usage). I would also keep my HDDs and SSD. Also no specific case in mind. I expect to make the upgrade by the holidays (I've spent some money in games and other things during this quarantine, so I'll wait a bit more for the upgrade to come true haha). Well, I think that's all, thanks in advance for your time and help! Stay home, stay safe! Castle

Hello, A friend of me wants to Upgrade his PC, as far as i remember, he doesent need to Upgrade the 750ti, the 550W Power Supply from Corsair(He may needs a new one because i dont remember if it has a 4Pin or a 6Pin CPU connection), and he doesent need any Storage (maybe a SSD). It should be cheap aswell. I thought about a: - Intel Core I5 7600k - 16GB Corsair Ram - ASRock Z170 Extreme4 - Cooler Master Hyper 212X - and a case (but there are problems with some, because i dont know what case can ship to Irland)

Im looking to upgrade my old i7 3820 to the new Ryzen 1800x that just came out. However, I hear that it has issues with gaming and video production performance. Is this true, or just hog wash from people who dont know what they are talking about?

Once I have upgraded my CPU, RAM and Motherboard I will be looking at upgrading my keyboard and mouse. I think I have decided on the following and just wanted to know peoples opinions. For the keyboard either a Corsiar STRAFE RGB Mechanical Keyboard or the Corsair K70 RGB Keyboard. For the mouse a Corsair Sabre RGB Gaming Mouse. The reason for choosing the RGB is because I will be customizing the colours to match my set up and want the different effects that you can get with the software.

I plan on upgrading my rig by switching out my mother board and processor in the future. As far as OS, would i have to reinstall it to my current boot drive again or can I just plug in my ssd to my new mobo and not worry about anything?

I currently have an i5 4690k (at stock). Sometime during the holidays this year, im considering going up to i7 7700k, requiring me to do a major hardware ugrade on other compenents (ram and mobo). Since Ryzen came out, I already noticed a $10 price reduction on Amazon. At the moment, my i5 paired with my gtx 1080 run GTA on all max setting usually anywhere between a solid 55-85 fps (depending on where i am on the map. And driving is usually on the low end, even dipping into 40's) So how worth it is it in the eyes of this community for me to go forth with this upgrade? Or what other options should i consider?

1. Budget & Location preferably around $700, max is $900. I live in the United States so US dollars. 2. Aim 3d work, recording/rendering/streaming, long gaming sessions. Mostly play overwatch and would like to max the settings on it. 3. Monitors I plan on running 1 main monitor, either 4k 60hz or 1440p 144hz (preferably 1440p 144hz) and one side monitor that's just 1080p (already own this monitor) 4. Peripherals as mentioned above, either a 1440p 144hz monitor (preference) or a 4k 60hz monitor 5. Why am I upgrading? I am upgrading partly for fun as I love building computers, as well as because some of my parts are going over to a build im doing at my dads house. One of my two rx480 cards are going to the Dad build, leaving me with one card for streaming, rendering, and recording. I am not sure wether it would be better to buy a gamecard for this (I would need explanation as to the benefits of one or i just need to do actual research) or to use software. Now that the questions are out of the way, here is my current build! already took out the parts that are going over to my dads house. Cpu: i7 6700 (NOT K) cpu cooler: h60 AIO Motherboard: z170-e memory: GSKILL Ripjaw V 2400 16gb Storage: 1tb wd harddrive GPU: 1 rx480 PSU: cx750M corsair OS: Windows 10 Case: Corsair 730T Remember that I would like the monitor to be included in the upgrade (max budget is $900)

Here is my current PC Specs: CASE: Corsair Carbide Air 740 MOBO: Gigabyte 990FX CPU: AMD FX-8320 RAM: 4x Corsair Vengeance 4GB PSU: CorsairCX600M GPU 1: MSI GTX 1070 Sea Hawk X GPU 2: AMD Radeon R7 240 What I want is to upgrade my CPU. Preferably Intel. If I can stick with my DDR3 RAM and current PSU and just change the MOBO, CPU, and Cooler (Don't need to OC so a quite one please) that'd be perfect. I'd be fine upgrading to DDR4 though and if it really needs to upgrade my PSU. I'm a streamer on Twitch so it needs to be able to handle High graphic games while streaming. Thanks for the help friends.

Hello community of Linus, this is my first post here so please be gentle but firm as I want to feel your presence So I shall start off when I first bought my computer(it's worth noting) I bought a pre-built off of craigslist- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Intel Core i5-4670K 64-bit Windows 10 Memory DDR3 240 GB SSD After a year or so I upgraded to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, my question is, should I stick with NVIDIA and go with the 1070's & 1080's, upgrade my Intel to an I7 and buy more ram? I currently have two stock fans(which seem to be just enough to keep everything cool, but when the summer kicks in I'm afraid they won't be enough, should I look into water cooling?(I've thought about it before, but as I am an amateur I want to slide into things easily before jumping the gun) I'm also rocking a Carbide 300R Corsair Case, which I will be upgrading to a bigger case to help with more room for upgrading.

Been looking at upgrading my CPU lately to something that I can stream with. I currently have a AMD A6-5400K and isn’t up to the job. Am I right in thinking that the new Ryzen will be able to support this, the higher tiers?

Hiya I am upgrading my desktop PC with a new mother bard and a new CPU. I got windows 10 for this computer (a full legit version, not an upgrade from 7 to 10) I head that when doing this windows 10 could freak out and say its a new computer. So I was just wondering what was the best way to upgrade it with the least amount of problems. Oh yea and the motherboard and CPU I am upgrading to has been used (it was my brother's and then he got a new one so I get his old one) Old mother motherboard: Gigabyte AMD FM2+ A68H SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 mATX ATX DDR3 2133 NA Motherboards GA-F2A68HM-H old CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K Black Edition CPU Quad Core FM2+ 3700Mhz 95W 4MB AD860KXBJABOX "new" motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 "new" CPU: AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300

I am trying to pass my old computer to my little brother, and it is a pre-built cyber pc with specs as follows. 1 TB HDD ga 78lmt-s2 mother board 8 gb ddr3 ram fx 4300 cpu 600 watt power supply gtx 1060 asus turbo gpu I told him that before I hadn't over that I would help him do some upgrades to make it run a little faster since it is really having issues tugging along. I know for sure I am having him keep the psu and gpu. I am also having him get an SSD, and 16 gb of ram. Where I am hitting a bump is deciding if I should have him stick with the fx-4300, buying new motherboard/cooler, and doing some modest over clocking to keep the budget as low as possible, or have him go up to an i5. We aren't looking to be completely future proof, but some longevity would be appreciated.

Hello, i am looking to get a new wireless card from my TP link N900 having problems (low speeds and pinging to servers extremely high, yet these issues are not present on my F2-A88xn wifi board with its intel AC 7620. Connected to the same router) so with ryzen on the horizion i want to get rid of my issues with a new card. The problem is that i am torn between these cards they all look identical but the prices on them vary quite a bit, i know the asus model has a large antenna but i plan on using solid antennas for any card. So is there any real differences or should i just go for the cheaper Roswell model?

Hey guys I recently started doing some youtube vidoes and found that I can't really play games while I wait for videos to export. Is upgrading from 4460 to 6700 going to fix my problem or just going to make a slight improvement. I've been researching and I found that gaming wise the upgrade is never worth it but I'm not sure how it would stand up to a more multi threaded work load.

Hello, I am currently looking to upgrade my current PC's specifications so that I can run newer games and games I'm currently playing [eg. Overwatch, Planetside(can't really run this anymore), War Thunder and etc.] I've been looking into the AMD's Ryzen 5 1400, and I'm hoping to upgrade to one of these, however, due to a tight budget and very little knowledge when it comes to CPU's and motherboards, I'm starting to think I simply can't fit this within my budget of £200. I'm hoping to find advice on what type of motherboards I should go for and whether I can fit it within my budget. If not possibly other options I can take to upgrade my PC. My current PC's Specifications: Motherboard: - ASUS A55BM-E CPU: AMD A8-6600K 3.9 GHZ Quad Core RAM: 8 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 797MHz Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1050 OC 2GB PSU: 650V Thanks in advanced.

Hi! As my main computer is getting kinda old, I thought of building a new one. I hadn't done it before, so I did some research on my own, consult some friends, etc, and now I want to ask you for your advice The project looks a bit like this: 1. Budget & Location I'm planning to spend 1000€ (EU), plus an extra 500 to dump in the PSU, case and MoBo. As per the location, I would be buying the parts in Spain, but I don't mind price discrepancies, every bit of help is appreciated 2. Aim The biggest load would come from gaming... I want to play the latest games at 1080p with decent fps. I'll use it for programming for my job too, but that isn't too taxing for the system haha. 3. Monitors One is more than enough. I already have it. 4. Peripherals I already have them and I don't mind spending over the limit. 5. Why are you upgrading? I want to have some wiggle room to upgrade to save some money now and extend the lifespan of my pc I already chose some parts, but I would like your input on these: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dDFYCy The actual case would be this one: Corsair carbide series SPEC-ALPHA Thanks in advance ^^

HI guys, I going to upgrade my pc and thus change my GPU. I'm going from a 750Ti to an RX560, but I have a 350W PSU will be enough to add this GPU ? how do I know if I need to change it ? P.S here's my config: CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 MB: MSI A68HM P33 V2 MEMORY: HYPERX FURY 8Gb @1866mHz in dual channel GPU; Zotac GTX 750Ti PSU: CORSAIR 350W
