Hello. I am wondering if there is any possible way I may get the best possible performance out of my AMD FX-8350 Black Edition. I am figuring that my motherboard(It's An AsusTek M5A97 2.0) is holding me back. It has the option to OC, and i Have, but im feeling like it may or may not be a latency issue.. I have already OC to a constant 4.4Ghz. Temps Are good. I just feel like i could do more with this CPU. My PC Specs are below. Mainboard: AsusTeK M5A97 2.0 CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition OC'ed to 4.4Ghz RAM: 8GB DDR3 @2317.MHz GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 Quad-Bios Gaming/Mining Card(Yes they have those....You wanna argue i can post a feking video. test me...) CPU - Ryzen 7 2700x GPU - XFX RX 5700xt Thicc iii MOBO - Aorus B450 Pro. RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 8gb x 2 PSU - Corsair 750 AIO - NZXT Kraken x63 CASE - NZXT H510 Elite After upgrading my RAM, & AIO my PC has seen some odd behavior. Before stating my issues, i ensure my temps are well read, my GPU reaching only 65-75. & my CPU peaking at 40. The case is well ventilated, with 3 140mm, 1 120mm & is cleaned regularly. I made a post a day ago with problems due to a slight overclock to my RAM & CPU, as i started causing crashing & flickering in my MOBO's RGB. (i set everything back to defaults & took the RAM out & back in.) Now, while the PC doesn't crash, it continues to do an odd freeze & seems consistent in this manor. Playing a game (league of legends) & chatting with friends on discord (or league chat) & everything freezes.. except the game. It allows me to finish the game, but once the game ends, its completely frozen; halfway through the game my mic disconnects. Once task manager is opened it completely freezes, leaving my PC unresponsive and having to shut it down manually. Any ideas?

I'm currently upgrading my rig, and I'm switching out almost everything, including my CPU, RAM, MoBo, and Boot drive. I want to make sure that I don't lose my windows key, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Does anyone have a utility or step-by step I could look over?

Hello everyone. So far been very happy with pc and the standard I have got it so far. Now looking at my next upgrades and wondering what needs doing first or what will benefit me most first. So my full set up is as follows... Ryzen 7 2700x (no overclock) Msi b350m gaming pro 16gb 3200mhz corsair lpx ram Evga gtx 1080 superclocked (no overclock) Samsung 860 500gb ssd 500gb Toshiba hard drive Xft 750w gold psu Nzxt h440. All razer peripherals and speakers. 32inch benq 4k hdr monitor 60hz. I am thinking I need to upgrade my mobo for sure but unsure what to go for. Also looking for an extra ssd. Are the m.2 ssds worth the cost for gaming? Looking for atleast another 500gb/1tb. Also I am looking at a 1440p 144hz monitor. As I play most of my games on 1440p anyway I would notice the refresh rate for sure. Can anyone also recommend any monitors around £300ish? I assume my cpu and gpu will be good for some time but may look at upgrading when nee cards and chips are out. Thanks

Hello Linus Tech Tips Forums! I am slightly new to understanding computer specs and have been watching lots of videos to do my best in furthering my knowledge of them, nevertheless I have been told to upgrade my processor more than once and am wondering if that is something that could be holding me back to do the best I can in games. Please forgive my less tech savvy self if I leave anything out Currently I raid mythic in World of Warcraft am on the last boss of the expansion. I play fire mage and can drop below 20 frames occassionaly as my peaks go up to ~40 and have that vally of below 20. For those of you perhaps looking to help me that don't play the game the encounter I am talking about can bring a hefty workload to even high end enthusiast pcs, from some reasearch I did I found that the top teir players even have recordings of them dropping to ~30 fps in the encounter. So possibly just a awfully optimized encounter in game or I am experiencing some kind of bottleneck(which people keep telling me but I am not sure if I beleive it) I play on the very lowest settings in that situation and have DirectX 12 selected in game. I want to try and not drop below 30 fps EVER while being even on 1 settings, functionality in game is VERY important for me Hardware specs MOBO: Asus prime b350 plus CPU: ryzen 5 1600 GPU: EVGA 2060 super XC gaming (recently upgraded because I thought my old card was holding me back) RAM: corsair vengance LPX @ 3000mhz Again if there is anything I left out please let me know and I will do my best to get it posted ASAP, thanks for the help and have a wonderful day. Alex

USD $580 Games, programs: Single player/multiplayer games (Cyberpunk 2077 soon enough) Streaming, rendering/encoding videos/clips. My current build is in my signature. However this is for CPU and/or GPU. Worth getting anything upgraded now or wait for Ampere, rocket lake or make the AMD switch. Also motherboard not included in this budget. I have $350 set aside for that.

So I'm like really new here and I've been thinking of getting a new GPU, my current one is here: https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-580-ARMOR-MK2-8G-OC/Gallery This is paired with an i5-7600 and 16gb of ram. I've been looking at the RTX2070 but I'm not sure about going that high as I only have a 1080p monitor (for now). Anybody got any good suggestions for what i should look at or get. Thank you.

So I have this Dell Vostro 3669 from 2017-ish, that I was planning to upgrade hardware wise and I was wondering if the upgrades that I'm about to do are still worth it or even plausible in 2020. So my plan is to add a Palit GTX 1050 ti that I found second hand for around PHP 3,800 (roughly $75 USD), I also considered a RX 570 and the GTX 1060 but they are too steep for my budget at around PHP 6000 to PHP 12,500 ($120 to $247) and I was also considering to replace the CPU from a i3-7100 to a i5-7400 which I dunno if the difference between the two (If you know the difference let me know and also If you guys have a better suggestion please leave it in the comments). Thanks My use for this PC is for gaming on light e sports titles (CS:GO, LoL, Tekken 7) I don't mind graphics that much since I set cs-go to 1024x768 and I also wanted to use this PC for some light editing (if it's even possible) FULL SPECS: i3-7100 8GB 2400mhz DDR4 ram (Dual-Channel 4x2) Seagate 1TB HDD Stock Dell PSU

Hey all! So, as I am new to PC building and stuff, I was wondering if I could buy a second 2x4 RAM kit and slap it on my B250 Motherboard. DDR4-2133 of course. Because the board has 4 RAM slots, it should work with two 8GB kits in dual-channel, no? Thanks in advance

new parts Pc Upgrades am i good for a while or not?
Jordyboy3 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello I am currently running this rig (these are the parts I wish to upgrade I didn't include the mobo as It wont work with the new Cpu anyways) CPU: AMD FX 8320 3.50GHz GPU: Nvidia 750 ti RAM: 16gb DDR3 I wish to upgrade these parts into these but I'm actually thinking that maybe the CPU and RAM are not worth it and I should just spend it on a new (better) GPU, so this is what I did have in mind for the new parts (I am a gamer however I do enjoy building and benchmarking PC's much more these days thanks a lot Linus). Mobo: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Z170-Skylake-CrossFire-Motherboard/dp/B0126R2LBK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1486345087&sr=8-6&keywords=LGA1151+motherboard CPU: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-i7-7700K-QuadCore-Cache-Processor/dp/B01MXSI216/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486343455&sr=8-1&keywords=Intel®+Core™+i7-7700K GPU: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GeForce-GTX-1070-ARMOR/dp/B01GVHNW3W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1486344327&sr=8-4&keywords=nvidia+gtx+1070 RAM: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HyperX-FURY-DDR4-HX424C15FBK2-32/dp/B01D8U2AHO/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1486345059&sr=8-14&keywords=ddr4+ram+32gb Total cost: £1051 I am also open to suggestion if you think any parts are not bang for the buck and you have a better part in mind price isn't to much of an issue just don't be ridiculous and recommend a titan xp or something. Is it worth upgrading? I was going to go all out but I'm starting to think that its not really worth it and I'm just buying stuff for the sake of it (also don't worry about PSU as I don't mind sorting that myself). -

Hello I am going to upgrade my peripherals soon and I was hoping to get some suggestions or comments on some of my choices. I already have chosen headphones with the help of @Kloaked but I still cant decide on a few other things. First is monitor, I was thinking of upgrading to a 24 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2415. It has an IPS display with great color accuracy and I have a great amount of trust in Dell. My 15 year old Dell monitor is only now starting to break, and I was thinking of upgrading more because its out-dated. I already have a nice mech keyboard with MX Blues so no upgrade is needed there #MXBlueMasterRace and for the mouse upgrade I was thinking of going for a Logitech G403 Prodigy wired. I have heard great things about it and the sensor it has is really good, 3366 I believe which is among the best. The mouse pad isn't that big of a deal but I was thinking of getting a Corsair MM300 extended mat. Any comments or suggestions about this pick of peripherals? Any suggestions for different products? Also, does anyone own any of these things and if you do, what are your thoughts on it? Thanks in advance.
