The title isn't click bait (unfortunately). I sold my EVGA 3080ti to a coworker recently. He's had it for about a week and a half. It's been running without any problems until last night. He said around midnight he woke up "the card literally started screaming, woke up everyone in the house, louder than any TV I've ever had at full blast". I have never heard of this happening. I'm not sure if he might have had a power surge that freaked out his system, or if it's something else entirely different. He said he restarted the computer and it's no longer doing it. I'm at a loss though on whether it could actually be the GPU doing it or something else. The warranty on the card is still good until June at least. I'd appreciate some help in troubleshooting or where to go from here to figure out the cause. I don't want to send the card into EVGA if it isn't the card doing it.

I currently have a 3200G with A320M and the current bios ver is 7.00 should I upgrade the bios to 7.10 and then to 7.20 or can I just skip straight to 7.20 (or is there a better stable ver?). I'm kinda scared to update cause I saw some forums on Reddit and other websites of people having problems with their 5600X on A320M and problems from 3200G to gen 5 ryzen I just wanna know whether it's safe or not, Should I wait on the 5600X to arrive first then update it to 7.20 with 3200G? So as i said in the title I'm about to do an upgrade on my PC but i only have an XFX XTR 550w Gold PSU (Was "Tier A" when i bought it like 4-5 Years ago not sure about now). Current specs are listed here (CPU-Z: https://valid.x86.fr/lh33b9) but in summary i have Undervolted and Overclocked the following parts. CPU(5600X) GPU(1070TI EVGA Ultra Silent FTW) RAM(2x8GB Trident Z DDR4 3600MHz cl18) If you need more details just let me know. So question is should i buy first a GPU(Probably Used one) and after 2-3 months a PSU or the other way around? I'm thinking about buying a 3070/ti/super (Which ever is around 300euro at the time) I've checked on PSU Calculator and all my parts(Overclocked) with a 3070 at 100% TDP is around 450W which means i have a headroom of 100W. Preferably i would like the GPU first but i can get the PSU and wait 1-2 months if that makes things right. Is it too much for my PSU to handle? Should I undo all the overclock and keep the undervolt in order to have more headroom if i get the GPU first? If you have any other GPU in mind feel free to let me know.

Hey! The situation is that I got a new computer in 2018 - after all, it's been a while, which means that I naturally start looking at what a possible upgrade should look like. To put it mildly, I'm not on the beat anymore when it comes to hardware - which is why I feel like I need some help. I am based in Denmark. My current setup is as follows: CPU: INTEL Core i7-9700K 3.60GHz GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 ROG STRIX OC RAM: CORSAIR 16GB RAMKit 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H GAMING PSU: CORSAIR HX850i 750W 2x 27" monitors running 2560 x 1440 at 144 Hz The part of my daily use of the computer that probably makes the greatest demands is, of course, games. Here, there are probably quite a few games that fall under the AAA category - I have to admit that I do like it when the graphics look good! i have a gaming laptop, Xpg i7 9th gen, 1660 ti, atlas 157Q I recently went to tech shop and had them change thermal paste and install 8gb ram. However the guys were amateur and didn't know much, regardless the RAM and paste was installed . However ever since that i have been experiencing Extreme stutter in my games. ALL of them even those which didn't have any stutter and were really smooth. I have updated any and all drivers, BIOS everything i could, i have used ddu to uninstall amd reinstall gpu driver . Everything has failed. Games played well in beginning but then start to stutter ALOT. Any help cz this is really stressing me out now. I want to reiterate, i used to get good fps and no stutter in these games. Issue only arose after i went there. Gpu usage 100% cpu varies. Things i have tried aside from updated: I removed new ram and realised the guys had flipped the rams in slot. I put the old ram in its original slot and The games improved but after some time they started to stutter again Reinstalled RAM in another slot again same result, first no stutter then new stutter. One thing i have noticed, is before ram upgrade i used to get lag in normal usage too. I.e 70+ % ram usage meaning laptop had slowed down , but after upgrade this issue was fixed but gaming came up. Any help?

So I've gotten my gaming laptop and I'm will to upgrade my RAM. Currently I have a 8 GB RAM which is single channel RAM that came from manfacture. Is going above 50 watts just okay? I saw this video by a nerd on a budget showing that he bought a used Dell Optiplex with a 240-watt PSU and an I7 6700. And he upgraded it with another stick of RAM, making it 16GB overall, and bought a 1650 Super with a SATA to 6-pin adapter. When I calculated the recommended PSU on the Cooler Master website, it stated that I needed 260+ watts for that system. And on that website, it just calculated that the CPU was 65 watts TDP, and I saw in an article that an I7 6700 can go at 100 watts, making the situation much worse. I recently gotten my ddr5 system, i7 14700K, Z790 LiveMixer, and G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 Series (Intel XMP 3.0) DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s CL30-40-40-96 1.35V, I was thinking of buying another 2 sticks to make it 64gb as the ram might not be available in the future and I want to be safe and get the 64gb for gaming in the next coming years, as I couple years ago we thought 16gb was fine but now we are using 32gb. The RAM sticks are currently 110 pounds, as if I wait and just get a fresh set of 64gb that would be even more or even the same in 3-5 years, so I'd still be spending the same amount. Would I have any weird XMP problems as it's ddr5 or will be CPU and Motherboard be able to handle the 4 sticks at XMP?

I am using a HP Z8 G4 Workstation currently fitted with 2x Xeon 5122. Looking at the product specifications for supported CPUs, it is an incomplete list of Xeons from this generation. I am considering upgrading the CPUs to 2 x Xeon 8173M, but am having a hard time finding out if this CPU is *actually* supported by the MB. In short my current build, now 4 years and a bit old, while still perfectly viable Is starting to be at least in my mind a bit out of date. There seems to be two paths for me at this point. Do a new build Or upgrade GPU and optionally CPU This is my current build And with that out of the way, my current plan is to go with option 2, as in new GPU and/or CPU GPU is straightforward in my mind, thinking a Sapphire Radeon RX 7800 XT or similar, Sapphire brand has been mostly stable for me in the past Plus if I decide to get a new MB later this is transferable And now the biggest reason for me starting this thread, the CPU. thinking Ryzen 7 5800X or 3D variant. Given that my current MB is an AM4 socket that seems the best option, but it's also almost an obsolete one. And my reason for thinking it might be better to look at building a new one entirely. As per the title, would it be worth it to take advantage of the upcoming end of the return window to upgrade? the return window for my R5 5600 closes on the 31st Jan. The cpu works fine but i was recently reminded of the return window and saw the 5800x3d staring at me from my saved items list.
