Hello, im just in pain because i dont know what to upgrade right now... Specs: MSI B360-A Pro Mainboard Intel Core i7-9700KF G.Skill Aegis 16 Gigs of ram, of course 2x8. Speed is 2666Mhz RTX 3060 12Gb from KFA2 Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD (OS) My Scenario is, i have an 1440P 180Hz Monitor and play a lot of shooters but want to enjoy Story games at 1440P as well. In Apex Legends for example i get 180fps permanent but only if i play in 1080P very low settings. I guess my GPU is too weak for 1440P high FPS, thats what i hear online at least. Question is, does it make more sense to upgrade my GPU to a 4070TI or something like that or does it make more sense if i Upgrade to a different platform like an i7-13700K, Z790 Mainboard, and 5600Mhz Ram and Keep the RTX 3060 for a few months? I know that the Processor is getting less important at higher Resolutions, but i dont know if this 5 Year old CPU is still good enough for an 4070 TI MAYBE an 4080. (I play often on big 4K Tv's, thats why i mention the 4080)

My PC Specs are - CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 GPU - GTX 1660TI MOBO- MSI B450 PRO VDH PLUS RAM- Kingston 8gb 2400mhz ram (2x4) HDD - 1TB WD Purple @5400rpm (wdc wd10PURZ-85U8XYO) SSD - ADATA 120gb ( on which I have my windows installed) PSU - Antec 500W So, I was playing zero horizon dawn complete edition on my pc the other day and I used all high, medium and console setting but in each one of them, my games was stuttering when I used to enter a new location. For a few seconds it used to be very laggy then after some time it gets back to normal and I was getting about 55-75 fps average on the game at high settings. I think it is due to 2 factors my 8GB ram or my slow HDD which is 5400 rpm only. I am thinking about what should I upgrade because I like playing games like these and I am thinking to play cyberpunk 2077. I don't want to go through this horrible experience again but I am limited on budget and can only upgrade one component as of now either a 250GB SSD or 8GB 3000mhz ram. If you think these both components are what causing the issue please tell me which one should I upgrade to first to have the most impact because I can do only one at this time and the other will require at least 6 months to upgrade. Or if you think it is due to any other reason please let me know. I played RDR2 also but I never faced such an issue of having lag when visiting a new place in-game or even lag in the game. Pure Rock 2 GTX 1660S 6GB, 16 GB of 3000MHz CL16 memory 512 gig Kioxia M.2 NVMe SSD and about 2 TB of other HDD storage My question was if an upgrade to an i3-10105F would make sense, seeing as how it's got the same core and thread count but a higher base and boost clock, and it's still within budget if I were to upgrade to a new motherboard, but I'd have to source a new mounting bracket for my cooler. Would the higher base clock provide a noticeable performance increase, or would it be negligible? Would I have better luck going team red? I didn't list my motherboard because either way I go I'll have to upgrade it anyway. Switching over to AMD would be preferable because I already have an am4 mounting mechanism for my cooler. I've already been thinking about switching out my motherboard because I am having issues with the USB3.0 ports in the back that I use for my Mouse and VR headset, the drivers just fail and sometimes they don't even work when trying to play VR unless I uninstall them and do some hacky work-arounds. So, what should I do?

well im upgrading my motherboard and ive seen that it can be kind of a difficult task so my question is Can i use the same internal hard drive even though its a different board? Do i need to reinstall a fresh windows 10? I need help choosing between a FX 6300 and 8300 I want to build a gaming slash rendering PC. My current PC started off as a budget gaming rig. It's using a xfx Rx 480 GT-R black edition and x4 860k CPU. The CPU just ain't cutting it anymore for multitasking and my computer is in my eyes due for a upgrade. I heard for dx12 FX is making a comeback and unless your running a i7 FX overclocked will beat the i5's in rendering. I'm currently using 8gb ram and have a deep cool gamerstorm captain 120 for CPU cooling. I am looking at using a MSI 970A SLI krait edition motherboard. I have a EVGA supernova 650 watt g1 power supply. Is the 8300 with it over the 6300 and with my mother board and power supply would I be able to overclock them.

I have an "old" Inspiron-5749 with an i7, and it's starting to 'slow down'. The screen is still in great condition, even if some of the rest of the computer has seen better days. For example, it takes me, on a fresh reboot, ~12 - 15 minutes to load Stellaris (a game), let alone load a game to start playing... Granted, I am using quite a few mods... What I'm hoping to glean from this discussion is if it's possible, and worth while to even try to upgrade anything about this laptop. I know that I can change out the Ram, and HD, and a new motherboard will likely run about $150 US, not including new Ram and potential new HD. I'd also like to get a new keyboard, but that can definitely wait.

I'm planning on upgrading CPU/MB or GPU soon, and doing whatever I don't do now later down the road. I just can't decide what I want or should do first, I'm thinking the CPU/MB would be the better option and wait until around christmas time to upgrade the GPU but i'd love some input or ideas from the community. for the CPU/MB upgrade I was looking at a R9 3900x paired with an ASUS Prime X570 Pro, my main concerns with both of these upgrades is running out of power. I don't want to trust psu calculators but they seem to say i'd be alright. I've got a 650w 80+gold Corsair RMx in the build, I also don't plan on doing any overclocking, not yet and when the time comes a psu upgrade will be done. For the GPU I was looking at a EVGA RTX 2070s FTW3, I'm also a little concerned about power with this, not a ton but it's definitely on my mind. I was thinking of upgrading the CPU/MB now, and then waiting until some new drops came out, or something big comes, then maybe I could push this up to a 2080s. That made sense in my head but i'm fairly new to this market so i wanted to get opinions or suggestions from elsewhere and see what you all thought about it, any input would be appreciated, thanks!

On my PC I have a i5 7400 processor with a RX 580. I'm deciding if I should sell the 580 and get a 2060S or sell the i5 and get a new CPU. Would I need a new CPU or go for a GPU upgrade and how long would the i5 last for specs in gaming?

So I want to upgrade my Asus ROG G20AJ Specs: https://www.cnet.com/products/asus-rog-g20aj-us002t-sff-core-i7-4790-3-6-ghz-8-gb-1-tb/specs/ It comes with a 230w + 180w power supply. I'm assuming the 180w is the dedicated GPU power supply. I'm trying to upgrade it to a 1070ti mini without doing anything to the power supply. There are a lot of people that are telling me that I need at least a 650w power supply and other people telling me It'll work fine. Any knowledge/help is very much appreciated.

Hello guys, this is my first post in the forums although I am subscribed to the channel and watched 99.99% of the videos. I am planning to upgrade my 9 years old (!!) Samsung Syncmaster 2033 20" 1600x900 monitor to a 1080p display. I use my computer essentially for gaming (mainly FPS) and I have a GTX 1070. The problem is where I live there is not a lot of choice so I have narrowed my choices to these 24" monitors: the Dell SE2417HG and the Samsung CF390. The Dell monitor is around 15$ cheaper so not that much of a difference. The main differences between them are: CF390 has better contrast 3000:1 vs 1000:1 for the Dell CF390 is curved Dell is marketed as "gaming" monitor (is this even important??) CF390 panel type is VA vs Dell is TN CF390 has brightness of 250cd/m2 vs 300 for the Dell CF390 has 4ms response time vs 2ms CF390 has FreeSync (I know I have an nvidia card but could upgrade to an amd in the future??) vs nothing for the Dell There is also this Samsung LS24F350FHMXUE but it has the same specs as the CF390 and costs the same as the Dell (but then might as well go with the curved monitor). So right now I have a i5 6500 6th gen Intel processor with a 1060 3gb which is overclocked (with msi afterburner) my motherboard is a H110M-E/M.2. If I load a game for example fortnite, my processor will run at about 80-90% and sometimes hit 100% while my graphics card stays around 45-55%. I believe this is a “bottleneck” and I was thinking about upgrading my processor. I was thinking about the i5 9400f 9th gen processor but was not sure if it was compatible with my motherboard and if it is a decent and worth it upgrade.

Okay. Over the past year or so I've been upgrading my prebuilt desktop. Specifically the Dell Inspirion 3847. Well I wanted to break free from the limiting cage the inspirion feels like it's bestowed upon me. I wanted transfer the main parts in the computer to another motherboard and case. Since I'm not really that tech savy I wanted to know a good motherboard+case to upgrade to that will allow me to do some basic overclocking (For a Graphics card specifically) and allow me to upgrade my CPU further down the line. Good "budget" items are fine (especially for screens, I am not interested in $1000 screens. I just want multiple, solid monitors that just work and do its job) I cannot really name a price range because I have no idea how to determine the costs of the items I need. I have a few things to think about in preparation for next year's summer (yes, not 2016 but 2017!). Mostly I am playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 in 2K all options on the highest scaling 400% i get around around 50fps alot of times drops to 40 or even less ( I have disabled the G-SYNC) but the fps drops and low fps are in a lot games (I know that the graphics card is not the best any more) so I want to do SLI setup. Hi! This is my first post on here so I'm excited to get some good advice, and feel free to let me know if I should edit or add anything. Essentially, I'm trying to figure out what a good future-proof upgrade to my current pc would be. I have knowledge of components and stuff, but I think people on the internet know more than me. My Current Build: MSI GTX 970 Gaming graphics card: link intel i5-4690k procesor w/ stock cooler: link asus B85M-G r2.0 motherboard: link Evga 500watt psu: link 2x4gb ddr3 ripjaws ram: link WD blue 1tb hdd: link bitfenix comrade atx mid tower: link Wireless: none, I run off of wired internet. But I plan on buying a wireless adapter in the future, I don't need one now though So, that's the build I have. Trust me, I know it's not the best I could have done, especially with the motherboard and such. This is why I want to make some upgrades to it now. I want to upgrade the case, power supply, and motherboard primarily. I want it to be something I can keep for a long time. For the case I really was looking at the Corsair Carbide 400c (link). The reason for this is that I love the look of the case, the magnetic fan covers, and the power supply cover. All of those would help me out a lot (the $99 price point doesnt hurt either). As far as power supplies go I'm open to suggestions, I was going to find a good modular psu at around 1000watts and go with that. When I was choosing a motherboard things got difficult. I at first wanted to get the msi z97 gaming 5 motherboard (link). This seemed not too expensive and was definitely way better than the board I have now. But then, I realized I wouldn't be able to upgrade to skylake or ddr4 without buying a new board. So, I began to look at the msi z170a gaming m5 (link). This is where I found some trouble. I do not think that the LGA1151 motherboards are backwards compatible with the LGA1150 chips and ddr4 motherboards are not compatible with ddr3 (which are the processor and ram I have). My questions are, should I get the newer motherboard and then also buy a skylake cpu and ddr4? If so, what cpu and ram should I get? Also, should I get a different motherboard than the z170a? I want to make my computer compatible for a while so I don't have to make a ton of major upgrades like I'm doing now. Also, if I get a new processor, should i get a cooler? What cooler should I get? I would prefer air cooled right now, as jumping to liquid cooled would be a bit expensive for me. I don't have a ton of money, but I'm of course willing to save and wait. So, if anyone could let me know what I should do, and what I should buy now or buy later, that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance! hello. I have a gaming computer I bought a few months ago from cyberpowerpc. (I know I'm so lame, I was too lazy to build it myself) Lol I kid. Any-who I have considered investing in some new guts down the road ( Just upgrades since i bought this pc with upgrade headroom in mind) One of which is a ram upgrade. Right now my computer houses a cozy pair of 8gb Adata xpg v2 dimms that run at 1866mhz. (16gb total) And wanted to look at upgrading to 32 gb down the road since I like to do various multimedia projects but my question is could i get a second pair of the same ram and install that with the already existing pair, or would i have to pull the old pair out and buy a quad channel kit? I currently have a gtx 560 and was wondering if its worth upgrading to a 780. I have the money and I'm on the fence if i should wait for the price to come down or wait for my current video card to die. If anyone could help me that would be awesome.
