Hi, Recently new monitor is available in my local store, its new brand, never heard of except for the phones they produce but it has really good specs for the price Samsung VA Panel 3440x1440 ultrawide 21:9 Curved 121% sRGB 144hz Freesync Premium its priced at around 480USD which is cheap compared to other premium brands like LG which are priced at 800+ $ in my country. I didnt find many pro reviews except hardware unboxed, its behind the competition when it comes to G2G and other specs. But I want personal opinion, is it worth it for casual gamer with mixed online and offline games?

Hi! I have a Omen x35(3440x1440/21:9) and I can't hold on 100hz anymore, becaus of that im getting a headache and wanted to aks if i should either get the Asus rog pg259qn (360hz) or a ultrawide monitor. My problem is the 360hz monitor isn't ultrawide which i prefer. So should I wait for a 240hz+ Ultrawide(3440x1440/21:9) or buy the Asus 360hz. Is there a leak on a ultrawide(3440x1440/21:9) 240hz+ monitor Fast forward: -Asus 360hz or wair 240hz+ ultrawide -Leak for 21:9 3440x1440 240hz+ ultrawide monitor

Atm, looking at Dell 34 Curved Gaming Monitor – S3422DWG. looking for at least 100 Hz and 1440p. Like this model because it's also HDR 400. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know if there is a wallpaper floating around the interwebs that is an actual wallpaper and not just a picture of the desk-mat. I found some 1080p ones but nothing higher than that so that makes it difficult to resize. Thanks in advanced and I truly appreciate your sleuthing! Happy Holidays

Hello I was trying to find a deal this black Friday and cyber Monday but with no good results so now I'm trying to find out the best value for money ultra wide monitor I can find within my budget. Requirements: inches: at least 34" ultrawide aspect ratio: at least 21:9 resolution: at least 3440 x 1440 refresh rate: at least 120Hz. A big plus would be gsync or gsync compatible freesync with at least 100 Hz with it enabled. budget: around 400 euros (+-50) I want to use it for both gaming and productivity like coding/modeling/art. So a high refresh rate, and good colours are what I need. From my search I was looking at the Xiaomi mi Curved 34" (which is about 400 euro here) and the Samsung Odyssey G5 LC34G55T (which is at around 420 euro). Also the Gigabyte G34WQC at around 520 euro. Please let me know which of the two you would recommend and any other recommendations on other monitors in the same price category. Thank you for your time!

I've been going through lots of reviews and searches but I'm having a hard time finding a monitor that hits the criteria and has good reviews. There have been a couple I've found that come close but then it'll turn out that it has black smearing when in games or scrolling which I *hate* on my current monitor. Do any of you have experience with a monitor that you can recommend in this price range? I'll link my top pick right now below but I've heard mixed things about it on the internet... https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG34VQL1B-DisplayPort-Adjustable-DisplayHDR/dp/B08LCMYT54/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=ultrawide+gaming+monitor&qid=1638385538&refinements=p_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A17726584011%2Cp_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547808011|3547809011%2Cp_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&s=pc&sr=1-6

Hello peps Need help/suggestions I need a new monitor but I am not sure which one to buy. I don't want to pay much, for now my budget ist max. 250€ but I would prefer to pay less like 200€ or even 150€ for an "Okay" monitor just for the sake of having a monitor that fulfils its main purpose = showing image. I want to game on it occasionally. My main usage would be productive stuff tho like surfing and researching on Safari/Chrome most of the time, edit documents, using DAW, Youtube on the side and other stuff. Until now I used a normal 24" full hd monitor. Now I am thinking of buying something bigger maybe with either Full HD 1080p or preferable QHD 1440p. from a bit of researching I found out that UltraWide could be what I am looking for when it comes to the creative/productive stuff but when it comes to gaming there may be no good offers in that price range. One I found for 200€ is LG 29UM69G 73 cm (29 ") 1ms 75 Hz Ultrawide IPS gaming monitor (2560 x 1080, HDMI, DisplayPort, 250 cd/m2, AMD Freesync) when it comes to brands I am open for others but mainly from my own experience my focus would be in this order - LG - Dell - BenQ - maybe MSI EDIT: I don't know if it helps to mention it but my machines I will use on it are : MacBook Pro and a PC with Ryzen 3600 + gtx 1660 super

I am in the process of upgrading my monitor situation to accommodate an new job that requires much more monitor real-estate. My configuration would be as follows. This monitor https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XZ342CK-Pbmiiphx-Certified-DisplayHDR400/dp/B08BW3XS12/ref=sr_1_9?qid=1642697916&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A23595194011%2Cp_n_feature_eleven_browse-bin%3A17726574011|17726575011|17726576011|17726577011|17726578011&rnid=17726572011&s=pc&sr=1-9&th=1 as the primary display at eye level (yes i know its not the best but I have a budget I need to follow) and then two of these monitors https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MDXF81K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 above that one side by side. The reason for this is I already have the 2 27in monitors and not enough desk space to put them on the sides of the ultrawide. My concern is this. I am unsure of the best way to mount it. My initial idea was to have the ultra wide on its in the box stand and then to use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082KWH2RL/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A177XTH6CJABI8 to hold the other monitors above it but I am concerned about sizing. I know that this would be very easy if I wall mounted them however I am in an apartment so I am trying to avoid holes in the walls if it all possible. If it helps with recommendations I am currently on a 59 inch desk (one of the ikea ones) with my computer on the desk just to sort of illustrate the room constraints I have. I appreciate any and all suggestions you might have.

My Philips BDM3490UC has a very inconvenient stand/speaker combo that I'd like to remove, and mount the monitor with an adapter or something. However I can't find any disassembly tutorials for the BDM3490UC and I'd like to not go in completely blind. Can you guys recommend tutorials for similar monitors so I can get an idea of what to expect and watch out for?

Hi, I am a university student at LSU for software engineering, and I am looking into getting a decent "budget" ultrawide monitor with the main uses being coding. I wanted to see if y'all had any helpful information when shopping online for an ultrawide monitor. Any information regarding which brands are better at this general price point would be wonderful. Thanks a bunch

I'm looking for a super highend ultrawide. Don't mind paying upwards of $1500. I'm an ultrawide early-adopter. I started with the Dell U3415W and later upgraded to the Acer Predator X34 (the one with 100Hz). I'm looking for 120Hz or more. HDR 1000 nits. 34" (preferably 38"). 3440x1440 (preferably 3860x1600). IPS, PLS (preferably OLED) Well-known brand that has a good track record. My use cases Work (Software Engineering) Games YouTube I don't want a 40" 4K monitor (same pixel size as my 34" ultrawide). I have 6 monitors, and it 2 of them sit under my main monitor. If I made it taller, I wouldn't be able to use it fully. 49" wider ultrawide because that makes my side monitors unusable, and its height is only 1440px. I'd prefer upgrading to 1600px or 2160px height to make code easier to read. TN or VA panel. In terms of VA panels, the last time I saw one in ultrawide, it was a Samsung, and it was visibly pink or blue depending on which side I looked at. Maybe that's a non-issue now though.

Hi, As I am in the market for a new monitor and seeing as the best displays are a little on the pricier side I have been quietly been awaiting the release of new panels and models. Recently the following model caught my eye. https://www.lg.com/jp/monitor/lg-34wp60c-b This seem to be a new model from LG, an ultrawide with a VA panel and with an impressive refreshrate for the price. Currently it is going for 57000 JPY which is around 500 USD. I noticed the gtg is at 5ms which is not great, but overall at a glance. taking the makers marketing info as the only input, it seems like a steal? The brightness seem to be at 300 nits as well which may be a little low? considering HDR etc. I haven't found any critical reviews of the display beyond unboxings. Any input would be very helpful. Perhaps the display has a different product code outside of Japan *note: I live in Japan*

Hi guys! I got a samsung g9 5120x1440x 240hz, an aoc AG241QX 2160x1440 144hz, and an LG 4k Tv. And when i try to use even my g9 and aoc monitor together my pc doesnt really now what to do, when i turn my pc on, and there are this 2 monitors plugged in, i got a black screen on my main (g9) monitor, while my secoundary works as it shoud, in horizontal, 1440p 144hz. And i have to pull my aoc monitor out from the gpu, and plug it back, for it to work properly, but when i do that, it works. Hello again, This is my 2nd post in a short space of time having a look for a new monitor. Basically I've been rocking a BenQ xl2720z for the past 7 years until I got home after a long trip and it was randomly broken. So anyway after having another topic over 4k monitors I was advised at this level it's probably best just sticking into the 1440p range hence I'd eventually arrived at the MAG274QRF-QD just by looking at recommendations. It did end off being a little more than I was hoping for but then the website very.co.uk here in the UK is offering 20% off bringing this down to around £320. Just after thinking I was done I came across the MAG342CQRV which is an ultra wide 3440x1440 21:9 monitor as opposed to the 16:9 of the 27" monitor I'd already found. The ultra wide is looking at around £352 in price. Now, I'm more of a casual gamer when I get the chance, I've only got a 970 at the moment because I refuse to pay the outrageous prices for GPU's at the moment. Besides that I actually do use my home monitor as a 2nd display for my work laptop which isn't too much typing mainly phone calls etc nothing colour critical essentially. I'll list the specs of the two displays below but essentially just want to know what you guys would recommend. Hi all, I am looking for some advice. I am thinking about upgrading to ultrawide monitor, don't want to spend to much money, approximately up to £500. I am not a competitive player, I play leagues of legends only when it comes to online games. I mostly care about beautiful looks, colours etc. I think that my best option would be between these two: 1. Huawei 34 mate gt Ultrawide (no soundbar) 2. Xiaomi MI 34 Ultrawide At the moment I am more towards Huawei as it has got higher refresh rate 165hz, and gets really good reviews. Xiaomi was reviewed by Hardware Unboxed but Huawei wasn't amd unfortunately I can't find any direct comparison on these two. Anyone owes one of these monitors? Any suggestions please or experience good or bad? Or maybe there is something else in that price range that would be better choice?

I'm having a problem docking my laptop to my monitor and hoping someone can help. My current setup: Dell U4919DW monitor and connected to the monitor I have a Logitech Brio 4k webcam, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2gen audio interface, and Kanto YU 2 speakers. I then use the provided Dell Type C Gen2 5A cable to go from the USB C port from the monitor to a thunderbolt 4 port on my Dell XPS 17 9710 laptop (and then use a Logitech MX Master Keys and MX Master 3 keyboard/mouse via bluetooth). This cable also provides video to the monitor and power to the laptop. I have been experiencing intermittent problems (roughly 2-3x a day) where everything freezes up, get a USB error saying "USB device not recognized" (even though I didn't plug or unplug anything), but then ultimately have to unplug the laptop and do a restart to get things working again. Recently, I plugged all my devices directly into the laptop/hdmi to the monitor and the problem is gone. Dell tech support has ran multiple diagnostic tests on my laptop, and it appears to be fine. My guess is it's either a faulty cable docking the laptop to the monitor or I have too much crap plugged into my monitor. It appears everything works great, until I get that random freeze/USB error. I can't figure out how to tell how many things and what type of things I can have plugged in via USB on this monitor. Does anyone know? But, if it is the cable, should I replace it with the same type (Type C Gen2 5a) or go with a Thunderbolt 4 cable? I'm a caveman when it comes to this subject. Any help is welcome!!

I am in the Canadian market for an ultrawide monitor. Is 3440 x 1440 enough of a difference from 2560 x 1080 to justify an extra 60% in cost? I would like some suggestions and opinions from users who have experience with 1080p and 1440p monitors or if you have experience with ultrawide monitors. In addition, what is a good monitor size for each respective resolution (1080p and 1440p ultrawide)? I am looking for a monitor in the $300 - 500 CAD range for general use and it would be great too if you could directly suggest a monitor.

Hi, due to Covid I've found that my work environment has drastically changed, I've moved from Working out of an office to permanent working from home. (which I find great!) However I've recently upgraded my home setup to better support a work from Home environment, I've recently upgraded from dual 27" 1080p in side by side configuration to a 34inch ultrawide 1440p. (with intent to go up to a 49" ultrawide because the 34" is too small for the work layout I require) The issue that has risen from this setup change is that I work on cloud systems and need to constantly switch between RDP and Azure Portal (chrome) sessions with the project Architect watching via Microsoft Teams. Due to the 1440p ultrawide I can no longer just share my full screen as the text becomes unreadable during the compression/resize process on teams and I normally work in split screen mode anyway with my monitor divided into left and right. My current requirement is to share an application window and switch between them when changes. But it is very common to switch between them every couple minutes when problem solving connection issues, this leads to wasted time or forgetting to switch to the other app. I need an easy way for me to be able to screen share just the left hand side of my screen on teams/web ex/zoom. I am using a work laptop that is already struggling, so it needs to be a simple to deploy process that isn't processor intensive. As this is a new working standard for a lot of people, surely there is an easy solution to this problem. Thanks for your help Brian

Ok, let me explain. I've been eyeballing an ultrawide that operates at 3440x1440 @144Hz. My laptop doesn't have DP port, but it has HDMI 2.1 and USB C DP (10Gbps), which is good. only problem is that the monitor only have 2x HDMI 2.0s, and 2x DP 1.4, which I can't access. Is it possible to connect the monitor with 2 HDMI 2.0s and get the full wqhd and 144Hz experience? There are 2 ways I might be able to pull this off: 1. By splitting the HDMI 2.1 into 2 HDMI 2.0 outputs and connect that to the monitor. 2. Use one of the HDMI port connected directly into the HDMI in the monitor + connect a USB C display port (10Gbps) via USB C - HDMI cable and connect that to the monitor. Silly question, but I'm really curious.
-
So I was wondering if we can split the screen of an Ultrawide monitor and then have 2 separate displays. But then connect both to same computer and align them side by side n all. Will it work? Basically, right now I have Samsung's 49" QLED Ultrawide Gaming Monitor in my mind ...

I originally made the post on reddit about issues and recalls on the 1st edition Samsung Odyssey G9. I have since returned 2 of the original Ody G9s, under recall. If you own one, they will allow you to return it, without question, for a full refund. All you have to do is keep telling them "its under recall".Even when they want to send someone out to troubleshoot it, just tell them "no, its under recall." They are under recall due to a 240hz horizontal scan line issue (as seen here: https://i.imgur.com/7P7K7Ls.png). I went through 2 monitors, hoping one with an updated manufacture date would resolve the issue. It didnt. My next thought was, "ok, lets return the 2nd one and get the Ody Neo G9, upgraded panel. They must have this issue fixed in this panel right?" WRONG. The horizontal scan line issue STILL EXISTS in this new Neo G9 panel. The updated monitor and panel are nice, I'll say that. There are additional buttons for quick switching between monitor settings (profiles). Its a bit more durable (doesnt move around as much), the frame has a more streamlined look to it, the colors and contrast are quite a bit better than the original. The blacks are amazing. Im not sure what Im going to do. Who knows if this issue will ever be fixed. It's not present in 120hz, only in 240hz, so at least Ive got that going for me. I am certainly going to reach out to Samsung support and have them look at this. For awhile they were saying that replacing the mainboard on the monitor was resolving it for the 1st edition. But then later they told me that was no longer an option. I wanted to share this with all of you that are looking at upgrading to ultra-wide. I will post more updates as I get them. tl;dr - New Samsung Ody Neo G9 has the same horizontal scan line issues at 240hz that are under recall on the first Ody G9.
