Just out of interest, what do you think is the best QWERTY keyboard for typing?
-
Hello everyone! Is it okay to type with your index fingers only? I can type without looking at 60wpm at around 97% accuracy, Is it worth it to learn to type with all 10 fingers? Or should I keep on typing with my index fingers only? Thanks for your answers!

Hey everyone. Anyone have any suggestions for typing gloves that I can use to lessen the strain on my wrist and keep soften contact with me keyboard?

Hi, everyone. So I bought this keyboard about a month ago because my last keyboard was missing keystrokes, and starting to have it's paint rub off: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D34L57F/ I figured the shorter buttons would make it easier to press keys, so I wouldn't miss as many, but while it does feel better then a normal keyboard it still misses keys. I was watching the new LTT video (Are YOU a cheap-ass gamer?) And I caught a keyword I didn't know about: key-stabilization. It seems that keyboards with better key-stabilization don't miss as many key presses, so I'm wondering what the best keyboard is that meets these standards: 1) wireless 2) rechargeable 3) short laptop keys 4) has a numpad 5) has the best key-stabilization. Can I get some recommendations?

Just found this keyboard in my dads old basement. Was wondering whether this one is one of those ibm model m's upon which Linus recently made a video.? It has a weird AT/XT Button on the underside. The cable although isnt detachable. But it has lights for scroll and num lock and caps. The entire body is metal and is quiet heavy. Was just wondering am I sitting on $400 without knowing? Or is it some common one. Although the pc from which it came from was during the 90's era. It has that feel which Linus was talking about. Its so old it doesnt have any company logos any more. I remember i used the pc which came with this laptop i used to run win 95 on it and has a 512mb hdd and a black and white monitor and probably 16mb of ram. Used to play prince of persia 2d and speedcar in it. Lol.

Okay so before I get crucified, I have both a Mac and PC, I work mainly in graphic design, the PC is a desktop and the Mac is a Macbook pro (2013). Regardless of the OS, I found that this issues isn't just on the application itself on Mac but also in Apple's icloud where you can have access to the iwork suites. The scenario is when ever you hold down the backspace button to delete a string of letters in a single line, the typeface would stop mid sentence or even in mid line and jump down to the next line where it would lock in place. The type doesn't jump back up to the previous line when press or hold down the backspace button. And even if you click where you want the typeface to be, the thing resets back down to where it locked and either locks in place when backspacing or continue on the new line when you type. I don't know if this is an issue in settings or if this is a bug that Apple is neglecting to see (much like what they've been doing since Cook became CEO) but I hope there is a fix to this. I actually like pages. It's clean, simple, and it (was) vary easy to work with. If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears. Just not going back to Microsoft word. In the mean time I guess I can use Google Docs.

I said in another post that I was worried about the risk of RSI and related conditions through the use of chiclet keyboards, and I was curious if anyone has spent a significant amount of time with the Logitech K780 multi-device keyboard. I'm considering buying it for use with my first PC Build, as well as my current daily driver Acer Chromebook 15. I'd like to be able to put these devices and my phone at my desk/docked in the keyboard while working, and this keyboard, (along with something akin to a Mx Master 2s) seems to be the perfect combination. However, I'm worried that 3/4 months down the line I might not enjoy using it, and wanted to know if anyone had any words of warning/wisdom? Is it comfortable to use? Do you use the device switching feature as much as you thought you would? Does the keyboard, particularly the crispness of the keys/their action, wear out fast? Is the manufactured incline good enough ergonomically or do you need to adjust your posture/keyboard positioning in order to accommodate it? Many thanks

This seems to only occur after extended periods of use in Google Chrome, but regardless of keyboard, I will sometimes acquire a bug where certain keys (seemingly random keys each time) register the value of a different key. For example, the "e" key will type "i" or "1" will become "w" or something similar. This is a small oddity, but it makes it quite unusable... even if I restart the program, it will still occur. The only fix is a hard reset. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue and if you might know of any possible fixes. Thanks in advance for any input.

What is the best keyboard for speed typing? I really hate typing on my Blackwidow, but it is great for gaming... If I have an essay to write, I absolutely despise it, it just isn't a good typer. Does anyone have recommendations for speed typing? I say speed because I am also interested in getting absurdly fast on one keyboard for bragging rights. Right now I'm at around 105 WPM on a laptop. Any recommendations?

Hello, I was wondering if this keyboard is worth it? https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01M7Y91T7/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i3?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01M7Y91T7&pd_rd_r=9860dc8d-d121-11e7-b2a8-3bfa5c4f60e1&pd_rd_w=W1WiQ&pd_rd_wg=AvGPj&pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=28C86QSCB768PPST4359&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=e1f5257e-d9f4-41f8-86e6-d23e3ad87f0a&pf_rd_i=desktop I'm looking for an affordable mechanical keyboard, mainly for typing. I'll be playing games as well but I don't really care if it doesn't give me the best experience there (I'm okay with a "good enough for gaming"). I know this is no Cherry MX keyboard. The keyboard doesn't have to be the best on the market. I just want a cheap upgrade from my 10 euros RII bluetooth keyboard (it gives me an enormous amounts of mistypes and stuff). Thanks!

So I want a new keyboard. I very rarely ever use the number pad and my desk is unfortunately short so I want just an 80% keyboard. This keyboard will be my main typing keyboard [I want to get something like an Orbweaver for gaming] I want it to be full RBG, per key would be cool but the keyboard I have now [MAD CATZ STRIKE3] is only whole board lighting so I'd be happy with zone RGB if I had to. I've never used a truly mechanical keyboard before [My laptop has a nice chiclet keyboard which I enjoy typing on, and this keyboards membrane feels worn out and is terrible for typing.] I cant decide between a mechanical keyboard and a chiclet keyboard because I don't think I would adapt to the speed of a mechanical keyboard, I'm a button masher on a keyboard. But I would like to be able to change the keycaps and stuff ??Or maybe I should get one of those switch tester boards so I can figure out which kinds of switches I like?? Wireless would be cool too Budget is like 60-100USD

While I am very pleased with the update overall, there are two things is one thing missing, both of which were which was present in the old version of the forum. The First (and most important) is that Switch to Desktop Version has been removed and checking Request Desktop site on Chrome doesn't change anything. The mobile site is greatly improved, but I personally can't stand using any site my phone (Droid Turbo for screen size reference) with mobile formatting no matter how good the site is. The Desktop Version should always be available for mobile users, NO EXCEPTIONS. The Second issue is just a small annoyance, you can no longer have One Line spacing from pressing Enter. In order to have a One Line space you must either type to the extent of a line or use the cool new bullet point system, but sometimes a one line space is useful and now alot of posts will be blank space extending the scroll bar. The amount of effort to press Enter twice is not substantial enough to warrant this change. Thanks @A Guy Eating Cereal for pointing out [shift] [enter] = One line space

Hi all, So for the last 4 days, I noticed that whenever I would start typing, some of the keys/letters weren't keeping up with my typing speed so therefore misspelling A LOT of words. The computer itself DOES NOT seem to be running slower. I was worried that this problem would be due to a keylogger and thought that my AV (bitdefender) had failed me. Yesterday night, I reformatted both my SSD and HDD before attempting to do a clean/fresh install of Windows 10 (64-bit). One thing I noticed was that when using the arrow keys in the BIOS to navigate around the menus, THERE WAS STILL LAG!!! So I continued with the fresh install anyways as I started to believe it might be a RAM issue. Please note that the problem has NOTHING to do with sticky/filter keys. After the clean install, I then ran memtest86 (overnight). Nothing. I then removed all the ram sticks and put them all back in one-by-one, I thought this fixed the problem this morning, but here we are again. I tried using my current USB keyboard on my laptop and I could type just fine without any lag/delay, so the problem isn't the keyboard. I have also dusted out the entire tower with canned co2. I've also tried removing the HDD and running only the SSD (AND VICE VERSA) and the problem still persists. A SIDE NOTE: While in the Windows 10 installation running via USB, the lag was still there when I was typing in my Windows Product Key Number. I started typing the same sequence into notepad so I could show everyone what I am facing. I typed each paragraph(if you will), at separate times. I type at an average of 89 WPM The misspellings you see below is of the "typing" not being able to keep up with me. ***Typing this thread has been a pain**** Here's an example of the problem I'm facing: ***SOMEONE PLEASE HELP*** If you can help me save this PC that would be great!!! I don' want to have to spend money on a new build!!! System Specs: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 10586) System Model: h8-1214 BIOS: Ang_716 Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X OC w/Boost (3GB) Processor: AMD FX(tm-6100 Six-Cre Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.3GHz Memory: 16GB DX version: 12

What is the best keyboard for typing for £10-£30? I know mechanical keyboards are probably the best but they are pretty expensive. Thanks
-
I have been typing with two fingers for my whole life and it was fine for a while but then when i started pc gaming it really took it's toll. And by going on the LTT forums it made me wonder "what if i could type faster?" because i can type at like 40 WPM which is not bad but not great. it hurts like hell and i can't not look at the keyboard or i will make lots of mistakes (especially in the dark) so i was hoping some of you forum warriors could help me Thanks in advance P.S this post took me 2 minutes to type.

So I recently got a new quiet mouse for work and home, which works brilliantly, barely any sound out of me at work at all!....until you reach my keyboard. Currently at home I've got a wireless logitech keyboard+mouse (K260), and I've been looking at 60% and "65%" keyboards (love those tiny things). However, looking around I'm struggling to find a UK ISO keyboard (or any euro iso, since I can swap keys) that's compact and quiet. I'm temporarily using a Mac keyboard, and it's nice, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the keys and while thin, it's pretty long.... Anyone out there got a quiet, compact ISO keyboard they would recommend? There's got to be a decent one out there!...right?

So, I own a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard with Cherry Mx Browns which I love. I hear a lot of good things about WASD keyboards, so I decided to look them over. One hundred and fifty dollars for their standard keyboard, and only five dollars knocked off for their keyboard without a number pad. I just think that price is a little ridiculous considering they are kind of bare bones keyboards. I think that the one hundred dollar price range would be a lot better. I would buy a WASD keyboard if they were in the one hundred dollar price range.

Hey guys, I have been learning Dvorak for about 6 weeks now, and I just want to know how fast you were typing at this point (so i can decide whether to practice more or keep doing as i am). Currently I am typing 70+ wpm. Any tips are welcomed. Thank you!
-
I was playing some type racer and realised that my typing speed sucks balls. I only type 50 wpm. So I decided to improve my typing technique and found this video. According to this my technique is really inefficient, I only use my index and middle finger when typing. If I try to type "properly" I can't touch type anymore and get really slow, I obviously require a lot of practice. How do you guys type?
