Hi This isn't a desperate situation but I think it's unusual enough to document, after a quick Google search last night and I couldn't find anything quite similar to what I'm experiencing here either. So for a few years now I have been using a Logitech K230 / M325 keyboard & mouse paired with their 'Unifying' receiver. They were gloriously cheap and effective for daily browsing & light gaming, I can bash away with them without fear of breaking anything expensive and if I need to do a lot of serious typing for study or business I plugin a lovely old Honeywell for that. Lately, the mouse has been a little off with right & left click not always going off correctly or holding fully while pressed, so I figured I'd might as well go and buy a new combo kit... So I picked up a Logitech K220 / M150 combo on clearence for $19 (AUD). The first thing I notice is no 'Unifying' branding on the (larger) dongle and the moulding for the new K220 is the same as the older K230 but doesn't have the cut-out for a power switch anymore. It must have also been on the shelf for a while, because the AAA batteries for the keyboard were dead when I put them in. Pulled the old dongle, fitted the new one and off I went, except... I didn't realize it at first, but there's something seriously wrong with this keyboard. Demonstrating in notepad, When I hit the 'b' key it actually types 'bu*'. If I hit b repeatedly, it changes case and goes 'bu*BU*bu*BU*bu*BU*' - it also opens the Calculator app each time, as if I'm hitting Func. + F4, which is marked as a Calc key. Hitting Func. + F4 on the older K230 does nothing. When I hit the 'v' key, it types 'gyv'. If I keep hitting v, it repeats 'gyvgyvgyv' but moves the cursor back to the end of the first three letters and sometimes, if you move it back to the end, adds an '8' and goes to the next line... When I hit the 'r' key it types 'cn1`r\'. If I hit the number 6 it types '5z' and puts my PC to sleep! Really "fun" when it goes off for the first time... if I still had the box I'd re-gift it as a gag. My operating system is Windows 10, I've moved the dongle around to different USB ports (2.0/3), there's no 2.4Ghz devices nearby to interfere and I've only had this keyboard for like 2 days, so nothing rattles when I shake it and it hasn't become like the bin of a bakery yet. I tossed the box and receipt when I got it so it probably isn't going back to the shop now, but it was only $19 so my wallet just has to take the hit. That being said, if anyone knows of a fix or has had this problem and/or has some other trouble shooting tips I'd be happy to see them. Is it some weird driver thing? Is it the water in the toilet spinning backwards down here?

Hi! I want to buy a laptop under the budget of 1300US dollars, preferably around 1100. I am a junior computer science student but my work flow does actually need the lastest hardware features. That's why I'm set to get a 40 series and preferably a 13th gen Intel or 70 series AMD... I type alot, so I do need a good keyboard to get me to full speed. And of course just like everyone else I would be happy if the built quality is good enough to last me more than 2-3 years... My last laptop was an IdeaPad 520 that got a broken hinge(which led to the screen breaking 2 times!) And at least 3 of the key caps just fall out when I type because of the tremendous abuse I put them through... In those 3 years that I had it I went from 20 wpm to now around 100... So those keys have seen alot of abuse. I know that not all of the things I specified will be available... I don't need the most powerful thing... Even a 4050(to be honest a 3050 is enough power for me) and an i5 12th gen is good... But as I said I mostly need the new features... Based on my budget I think a 4060(for the extra VRAM) and a 13th gen "U" CPU is gonna be possible... Yet I don't know that many Laptops that I can be assured of the built quality(and it being easily fixable!) Extra stuff that I would be very happy to have is a 100+Hz display... A numpad... And above 16" size... Maybe 1440p display although that is just pushing it with this budget really... But each of these could be an extra point... Maybe I'm being unrealistic with my budget... But I would be happy to hear any criticism and any suggestions that don't necessarily match my requirements.

I was playing Rust and realized I couldn't crouch jump. I have a Keychron K10 keyboard. Space-bar doesn't work when I am holding 'ctrl'. Just started to have this problem recently. I don't see it as a ghosting problem as it can do 20+ keys at once. Any solutions? 20230526_153540.mp4

Hi together :-) Recently I have been looking for a new keyboard. It should be great for both typing and (admittedly casual) gaming. Since I have a rather small desk I'd prefer a TKL version. In terms of esthetics I'm really into clean and premium designs. It would be great if it was wireless, because I constantly find myself having trouble clearing space on my desk for my laptop. The best option I found so far was the Logitech G915 TKL Lightspeed, although a review stated that the keycaps are quite fragile and the shift-key broke after 9 months of moderate use. Since there are no good options for replacement keycaps I consider that to be a big problem. In terms of visuals I like the Roccat Vulcan TKL and SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL a lot, but non of those is wireless. Maybe you guys can help me out here - does anyone have a good recommendation for me? Tank you in advance for all answers! Sincerely SCK

Hi everyone I am currently using a Lenovo Preferred Pro keyboard at work, I absolutely love this keyboard but its quality is left to be desired. Could someone recommend a similar keyboard? Something that isn't obnoxiously loud and can handle a lot of typing. TIA

Hi, I recently bought Logitech G813 which has GL Clicky switches. I bought this to replace my old HyperX alloy Cherry MX brown keyboard. Although, I don't like the typing experience on G813. The keys are clicky but I don't feel any tactile feedback. I was expecting better tactile feedback than my Cherry MX brown, because the tactile feedback is virtually non existent in Cherry MX browns. So, I was thinking of replacing it with either Logitech G512 Carbon (GX Blue) or any other keyboard containing Cherry MX Blue Switches. Since, I haven't tried any clicky switches before, I wanted to ask if GX blue and Cherry MX blue have better tactile feedback than Cherry MX brown and GL clicky.

I bought my first mechanical keyboard, the Razer Blackwiddow Ultimate 2016 Edition, a while back, and I'm loving it. I find it annoying to go from the mechanical switches at home to the membrane switches at work. Luckily I can use my own peripherals at work, so I am looking into a good quality one without breaking the bank. Does anyone have any suggestions? Im finding I really like the feel and sound of the Razer green switches. I can't download any software onto my computer at work, so customizable lighting is on the bottom of my list of wants or needs. Im considering 10keyless for the sake of having it be small enough that it can be portable.

I'm looking to get a good set of O-rings for cherry MX switches. They have to be 40A-R firmness and reduce travel by 2mm. I don't care about the color but I would prefer that they be cheap and found on amazon. Does anyone know where I can find these?

I was looking at the Prostar/Clevo n850hk1 laptop. I will be using this machine throughout college and I will be doing a good deal of typing. Does this laptop have a good keyboard? That'll be the deal breaker for me. Everything else is perfect. Here it is: https://www.amazon.com/Prostar-N850HK1-1920x1080-i7-7700HQ-Bluetooth/dp/B01MTELLFK?th=1

Hi all! If this is the wrong sub for this content then my apologies. Long story short my computer will every so often start to type and click on its own. It doesn't move the mouse so it just clicks wherever the mouse is at that time and types in that window. It's been doing this off and on for a while now and I decided I want answers! I let it do it's thing in a notepad document and it came up with stuff I know I have typed in the past. So it's typing stuff I've typed months after I typed it, after tens (maybe hundreds) of restarts and turning off and on. I've run countless whole computer virus scans and it finds nothing. I've upgraded the hardware (still the same SSD and HDD's) and it still does it. Anyone got any idea why it's doing this and how to stop it?

Hi! At first sorry for my English. I want to buy a mechanical keyboard, with brown or red switches (or maybe with blue switches, but i will try them once another, cause I can't choose it yet). I want the cheapest solution as possible. I want on my keyboard a numeric pad (I don't know if this is the right word to use, but you know guys, that part on the right with numbers :D) I was the happier if I get numeric pad, but don't get the arrows (like on the CM Storm Quickfire TK ). That isn't a bad thing if the keyboard has backlight, but if has, I want a red backlight (but isn't necessary to have any backlight). I thinked about the Kingston Hyperx Alloy FPS, or a Corsair Strafe keyboard, but I don't know if there is a better solution. Thanks for help.

Hi everyone, I've been in and out of the tech world for some time now, but I'm coming backing into it again. Before I used to game quite frequently, now I rarely play more than 1 hour a week. Now I'm much more focused in work and I have been wanting a mechanical keyboard for some time now. I have been considering a Cherry MX Blue or Brown, but I think I'm leaning over to the Blues. I don't share a room with anyone so the noise won't bother anyone else. I've tested out the Blackwidow and those Kahil Greens are really similar to Blues(at least most people say they are) and the noise of those doesn't both me. I have been trying to find a keyboard with Blues for some time now, and I just can't seem to find the right one. All I need is a backlight, a Number pad, wrist rest and a non-gamery font. That's it, and it's unbelievably hard to find this. Can anyone recommend me a reliable keyboard to use over then next few years?

Since my first couple PC's were laptops, I've always been more used to typing flat and I'm rather inaccurate, especially on certain keys, with it raised. Curious what the split is like with everyone else.

This has been stressing me up for such a long time now. I am usually trying to type fast (my speed is only like 74 wpm). But windows won't allow me to do that because it some sort of delays my typing when I am trying to type fast in the programs I use under windows (chrome, discord, visual studio code). When I type in the CMD, my typing is really smooth and there is not a slight delay. That's how it should be. Same goes for "renaming files or folders".I have not seen any thread like this one before.. idk..

Hey! Out of curiosity what is your typing speed? Submit your typing speeds or anything related to typing (practice) here. (It can not be misleading, keep it related to speed, accuracy, or quantity (of words, etc.) -------------------------- My Top: 118 wpm Average: 91 wpm --------------------------

I know it sounds weird but I have a problem on my Surface Go When I try to type on Windows Start menu, File Explorer or some MS Office apps nothing happens, but the keyboard (Typecover) works perfectly with my browser, acrobat reader, outlook, WIN key and Win shortcuts (Win+R, Ctrl+Alt+Del, ..) Earlier this week I deactivated the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" because the screen keyboard kept popping up every time I touched the screen with my hand while trying to write with the pen. I just tried re-enabling the service and it's actually working again. Guess I'll have to find another way around this annoying software keyboard.... I post this anyway because I didn't find anything on the internet and it may be helpful for someone.

I would like to know what is the best keyboard for a high school AP English teacher and future author, silent (so no interrupting students), no tenkeyless (putting in grades), I don't want or need pain from typing from hours. No wrist rest please. I prefer full height key caps. What keyboard should I get/use? Thanks,

How do I type in multiple languages in Windows 10? I live in Sweden and my PC is set to Swedish, however, I've also added English under the keyboard settings. The problem is that I still get red lines under the text that I type when I type in a different language than Swedish. How do I fix this?
