So the situation is this, I have a 165Hz Gsynch compatible monitor @1440p but it woks at that refreshrate only when hooked up with a Displayport (HDMI outputs 120Hz max) I see that elgato solutions need an HDMI input... And as far as I understand none of them can output 1440p @165hz (also what about variable freshrate? ) Also as far as I understand their best product (4k60s+) has a significant delay when streaming (like above 250ms? ) I dont care to become like a "game streamer" but some of my close friends moved out of my city and now we like skype each other or what not to hang out but this gets a little tedious if our "sessions" last more than an hour and they do usually, because its not the same as hanging around in a bar or at someones place there are moments where there is silence or whatever etc. So I thought (since I am the only gamer, the other dont game but e.g when in my place they liked watching me play and brake my balls with every small detail they see which was getting into my nerves but I somehow miss that now ) that I could like play a game and have them watching and talking to me so me playing the game could fill up those intervals of silence that happen usually when we e.g talk to each other via discord or skype. The issue is that I would like to have as close to 0 latency (so that they wont ask stuff about the game footage they see that is in the "past" on my perspective and confuse me while playing like "oh you didnt pick up that thing!" "What thing?" "the thing next to the desk in that room" <--- which would be a room I already left etc) But I also would like to keep 165Hz and variable refreshrate on my monitor. Last but not least I would like to feed at least 1440p 60hz on the stream. (so having the device bypass on my monitor to hdmi is a no go) So what streaming solution (doesnt necessarily have to be from elgato) could work? Also would there be flickering issues if eg. I hook the GPU to my monitor via DP (165hz variable refreshrate) but the device (e.g elgato) to the HDMI (as a second monitor) since over HDMI the GPU could not give 165Hz feed? Last but not least could suggest to me headset with more than decent microphone and at least ok sound? Money is not necessarily an issue but I would like the best bang for the buck. Thanks

Hey all, I’m USA based and looking at getting into twitch streaming. I used to do it awhile back and streaming things like Minecraft was easy. But now I’m into games like Escape From Tarkov. I ran some screen recording test and my fps dropped a noticeable amount to the point where I felt it was impacting my ability to play. I would ‘like’ to capture 1080p 60 fps. I’m looking for some guidance in what I should upgrade in my PC or add to it. From my research a capture card will likely not do much unless I had a second desktop (or unless you all know of a card that really reduces overall load on my PC). Otherwise I’m sure my GPU is very dated now. Any suggestions or priority order from you all for me to focus on? I would like to take this one upgrade at a time to minimize costs and don't really want to spend more than lets say $600 (but if needed the upgrades can happen over the course of months if necessary to expand the budget). //Current PC Build Details GPU: Nividia RTX 2060 SUPER CPU: i7-4770K, 4 Core @ 3.5 GHz Memory: 16 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H-CF

What is the Best Capture Card that has AT LEAST 4k 120hz passthrough with the ability to Capture between 1080p - 1440p 60hz? I want to capture my Main Computer (MacBook Pro) Screen and use my Secondary Computer (Windows PC) to be able to take those visuals and Stream it to Twitch via OBS.

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my girlfriends current PC set up. She's a twitch streamer (P3achybuns) and loves playing games on stream. Unfortunately, her current set up can be a bit awkward with games like Two Point Hospital or Planet Coaster / Zoo - which she loves to play. I would like to spend the money in the right area to make sure we can get the most out of the build and hopefully stop any of the current glitches she has whilst streaming and playing certain games. What would you suggest to upgrade on this build? Any suggestions appreciated!

Don't know where to post this but "Troubleshooting" seems the most relevant to my "issue"... Some Context.... I'm trying to do some live streaming on my PC but it's way to underpowered and I don't have the money to buy a fully spec'd out PC. What should I "upgrade" about my PC? Should I Buy a AMD A10 6800k (supports the same socket and is apparently better than what I currently have) and upgrade my ram? Should I buy a External GPU housing and buy a GPU? BTW Gaming is secondary but I do game on PC often. Thanks for the help!

I am running into an issue that my CPU runs at 100% while I am streaming. I am running Streamlabs OBS, game, a chatbot, music program, some smaller background programs and discord. I am also using two monitors one is 1440 and the other is 1080. My framerate jumps all over the place while I am streaming, it runs ok for the most part, but defiantly lags at times. If you can assist in any way that would be great. - Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z390-A - Processor: i9-9900k - RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 2666 - NVMe SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - Video Card: ASRock Radeon RX 6700 XT Phantom Gaming

So i've had this problem FOR A LONG TIME, and this is a repost because everything i've tried; nothing works. The problem - My computer will randomly start twitching, every other time i turn my computer on, or if i leave it on for long enough, it will start doing it then too, so i'll have to force the computer off (when it's twitching, the "shutting down" circles will turn forever. [In the picture i'm uploading, you can see the frame rate fluctuations, Every time it goes down, audio twitches, Mouse teleports, etc, and then i'm forced to force shut it down and restart, so i have a day or so of normal pc use before i have to repeat] [I've been living with this problem for a few months now, slowly changing/trying new things to fix it] My build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/gamer1000percent/saved/4tXCLk What i've done to try to fix it, or narrow down the problem: - Switched/tried different ram sticks - Switched/tried different PSU - Switched/tried different GPU - Switched/tried different Boot drive and windows (Bought a new 970 EVO, and tried win 8.1 instead of 10, but after i did windows updates, the problem came back next restart) - Tried different m.2 slots on the motherboard - I've done a fresh install of win 10 once or twice, without installing any programs/etc, and soon the problem comes back - I've done a fresh install of win 8.1, once, and after updates the problems showed up. Side notes: - Updated all drivers - Updated all Windows updates - i have 3 drives attached normally, but 2 of them were disconnected most of the time, because they were from previous systems and aren't relevant. - My GPU and CPU are not overclocked - I've looked at Event Viewer thoroughly every time the problems occur, but i can never find any logs relevant to the problems.(except for Kernel-power) problems because i have to force shut it down. Next time it occurs, i will try to get a video of what it all looks like during it's stroke (i call it stroke); Though the only things i Haven't changed, is the CPU and Motherboard...

So I was streaming the other day and this has never happened before. I was perfecting my audio cause my noise gate filters was messed up and I added a compressor so when I talk quieter (voice is already soft) or if I were to yell the compressor and everything keep it normalized. After settings up the compressor, I went to go live and I starting noticing my voice was sounded a little robotic. Is this caused by the compressor settings filter or laggy internet? I have around 10-12 upload speed and stream @1080p60fps never had an stream quality or audio issue till now. I tried looking up some solution such as unplugging and plugging back in once live but that didn't help turn off compressor and still happening. What could be doing this? Any help apprenticed. Here are my settings if needed & system specs in signature:

Hi!!! So a friend is having a problem in wich he starts a livestream on his twitch channel and his channel just disappears from our followed channels, also showing that he is offline. Just for record his twitch is dudubarrichello91 (He has just reached 4k followers a couple days ago), also his Instagram has more than 85k followers, do you think if he puts a stories about the problem, tagging twitch, they would reply to him. We have tried to reach them several times before. If any of you have any clue what it can be please let us know. If you know someone inside Twitch that could help us we would also be very glad to know him/her. If you want to see the problem happening you can reach me via discord, I can send mine if necessary. Please help us he really needs because of his sponsors.

Hello, I have a little issue when I stream... I guess I would try on this forum, because I cant find anything on google and i'm not getting anywhere with twitch support or reddit. So when I stream on x264 (software), everything works fine... but when I select AMD (hardware) I get an error on twitch that my download was canceled (error #1000), but when I playback the stream after it works fine... My computer specs: R5 3400g 16GB RAM maybe because i dont have any graphics card... currently running on vega 11 integrated graphics.. Thanks!

So as the Title says, I'm interested in getting rid of my old i7 2700k Sandybridge gaming PC (which i built like 4-5 years ago) and now am looking to update. Currently I play modern games. Here's a short list so you get the idea. CS:Go, World of Tanks, LOTRO, The Division, Ghost Recon, Battlefield 1, Starwars Battlefield, and a few hundred steam games. Such as Conan, or Torchlight 2, Trine 3.... you get the point. Anyway. I Mainly play games on this pc. But I'd like to start streaming my game time. I have a 2 - 3 monitor setup. (currently 2 but would like to upgrade to a 3 sometime soon). My Hardware is currently using a GTX970. I'm watching Netflix normally on 1 monitor (when not streaming) and gaming on the 2nd. When I stream it would be on 1 monitor and game on the 2nd. So.. Currently I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard and processor & ram. I currently am using a Samsung SSD 850 grey and as i said am still going to use my 970 for now. I would say 95% of the time i'm gaming. streaming/watching netflix or twitch. I would NOT say i'm doing word processor, excel or anything work releated on this system. mainly 95% for gaming. What would you guys recommend for me for a setup for a new motherboard and processor. Would RYZEN benefit me with my play style.

Twitch Streamer looking for upgrade recommendations!
Slugg posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hey LTT Forum! I'm a live-streamer at Twitch, and I'm looking into upgrading my PC as it's beginning to limit my streaming experience I almost only stream Hearthstone, a very non-demanding game to stream, on high streaming settings. (720p, 60fps, 3500 bitrate, faster CPU setting) I'm using OBS Studio. My CPU can't handle other games than Hearthstone while streaming. - Or well the games run smoothly, but the stream lags, even with low settings ingame and OBS (720p, 30fps, 3500 bitrate, Superfast) I've just picked up For Honor, and really enjoying the game, but when streaming it on low settings I have like 20 fps ingame on stream, the game runs smoothly for me still. I've looked at the new AMD Ryzen, but have been told to stay away from AMD when streaming due to x264 (might be confusing this with something else), is this still the case for the Ryzen? Other CPU's I'm looking into are the Intel i7 7700k, and the 6800k. Basicly what CPU should I go for? More Cores or higher clock speed? I do realize that my GPU also could use an upgrade, BUT my CPU seems to be the one holding me back as of now, will be upgrading my GPU soon aswell though. Budget: As long as I'm futureproof I don't mind spending extra. But around $400. These are my specs: The important: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz DirectX 12 (maybe important, not sure ) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 The whatevers: Windows 10 Home 64-bit. 16g Ram Thanks a bunch, Slugg -
Hello Internet, Wasn't sure whether to post this here or under the "Display" sub-forum as you will find out soon. I currently stream on Twitch occasional but want to get more into it, however it's an utter ball-ache. Whilst at Uni I use my Razer Blade (Late 2016 GTX1060 4K... blah blah blah) and because of the resolution it is a nightmare to setup with my Razer Ripsaw capture device (when using my second laptop as the encoder) or even running OBS Studio on the Blade. As the 1060 can't run every game at 4K I run the majority of games at 1080p which requires me to change the input settings for the Ripsaw and OBS s it doesn't show "Out of Signal Range"; this means when I tab out of game or change games, the resolution changes and so it shows "Out of Signal Range" again... tab back into a game and it will show to be working again on OBS but the actual Twitch stream would have a frozen image and it would just have the audio. Is there a possible fix for this? If not do I just have to deal with it/buy a 1080p monitor. If the second is the case, when I head back home, I use a 1440p monitor... I was contemplating upgrading monitor anyway but now I'm thinking, do I get a 1080p G-Sync monitor instead of the colour accurate 1440p/4K one I would have? TLDR; Twitch stream dies when I alt-tab due to resolution changing from 1080p to the 4k native res of the desktop... Any fixes other than buying a 1080p monitor? Thanks in advanced

Hello, Greetings, I just downloaded OBS to try out streaming for the first time but I cannot stream anything. The problem - I am dropping frames like anything. I have upto 99% dropped frames sometimes. Why? It's the upload speed,OBS is showing it as 500-1200 kbps and that's just pathetic. I have a 30 up and 30 down connecetion and it works perfectly fine, just not in OBS.I cannot even stream in 500 bitrate.Idk why isn't obs using my bandwidth properly, maybe you do. Thanks for your help.

Okay so I recently built a new rig. I-7 6700k, gtx 970 (brought from old rig) 16 gb ddr4 ram, 1 tb ssd. i built this rig to start streaming regularly. My Internet speed is 300mbps down and 25 up. So from everything I've read i should be able to stream decently. However my streams are choppy and buffer all the time. Ive tried various settings and different platforms. This includes OBS, Nvidia Shadowplay, and XSplit. Nothing seems to help. Im mainly trying to stream Rainbow Six Siege Now here is where it gets complicated. My monitors native resolution is 2560x1440 the reason I bring this up is one time my settings for siege got screwed up and set it down to 1920x1080 and i noticed my stream was a lot smoother at this display. Wasn't as smooth as i wanted but it was a noticeable difference. So i would ask does my games resolution effect my stream? and if so is it graphics card related? Would upgrading to a 1070 help my issue? Secondly does my monitors native resolution effect my OBS settings. Would I set my base canvas higher and scale it down? Ive looked around a lot for answers to these questions and found nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll put basic specs of both computers down below! I'm following Twitch's guide for a 2 PC streaming setup (this one here) and I'm stumbling at the first hurdle which is getting monitor 1 to duplicate onto monitor 3. Gaming computer connects to capture card in streaming PC via hdmiGaming computer has two monitors connected via DVIStreaming computer has one monitor connected via VGA through a VGA to DVI adaptorWhen I attempt to detect the 3rd monitor it says that it is not detected and that I can try to connect anyway through VGA, When I try that it detects a 3rd monitor but won't allow me to save any display settings involving monitor 3.At first I thought it may have been the monitor on the streaming build as its an old IBM T55A! I borrowed a friends monitor, much newer, using a DVI connection and still no luck! Both desktops are running the latest versions of Windows 10, the capture cards drivers and firmware are completely up to date, GPU drivers on both computers are also up to date! Any ideas guys? This is my first attempt at 2 PC Streaming so forgive me if I'm missing something obvious! I was watching the last Wan Show on twitch and i noticed that LTT doesn't have much subs on twitch and i understand why, because it's an hour long show that you get only once a week and there aren't much icons either so why pay 5$ for it, and that got me thinking why don't twitch subs get free floatplaneclub access because it's about the same price and a lot of people have twitch prime for the "free sub" .

Hi! So ill make this quick, i need a good microphone for Youtube, Twitch, and maybe other stuff I plan on doing videos and streaming (mostly videos), with an Elgato HD60S and probably a Logitech C922. I was wondering what the best microphone was for about $150 or less, and hopefully USB (no like third party thing necessary). And with that, whether it would be good with one of those stands that you can move around or let it go near your face and such, that would be cool too Hopefully you guys can help me and give me some suggestions! Thank you so much!

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/twitch-will-start-selling-games.html https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-02-27/amazon-s-twitch-to-sell-video-games-on-streaming-site Sounds like a decent plan. though Twitch will most likely get a cut of the game purchases from their site, or the channel gets a small cut.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had anything in mind to solve this problem. I have a computer, built by me a year ago which is rocking basically some of the top components that were available back then. I have: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/miky26/saved/TJ2v6h I added a couple of monitors of the same size to this system and now I have a 3 monitor setup. My problem is this: when I watch videos online, I usually watch Twitch.tv, but the issue is with any video (from putlocker to youtube as well), while I watch them they lag at certain times. For example, I am watching a stream from twitch and, all of a sudden, it starts dropping frames and lagging. This happens both if I am watching only 1 thing or have three different videos playing on all the monitors. For example, I was watching a movie and 2 streams at the same time and, all of them at the same time, froze and then started playing again. The same thing also happens when I'm browsing and watching something at the same time, they both freeze at the same time. I have checked the memory / cpu / gpu usages and they are totally ok, being all under the 20% threshold. I use Chrome btw, but using other browsers doesn't appear to make any difference. I really have no idea on what to do. I would appreciate your help, if anyone has an idea on how to solve this. Thank you

Guys, I need some help. I am building a new PC and I am debating on a few things. Major thing right now is CPU. Im on the fence between an i7 6800K or i7 7700k or waiting for Ryzen, Really the CPU choice will determine the rest of the build. I like to game and stream on Twitch at the same time. Anyways I do not really do any hardcore video rendering or anything like that either. So just need some advice on what some other people will think. Ryzen looks promising but I have had bad luck in the past. Rest of the build is going to include 16 - 32 GB of Ram I will use my Samsung 840 Evo 250GB SSD 1TB Storage Drive EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Edition Thats really all i have decided on. If anyone has ideas please let me know.
