Hi, I am making my sim rig and as I came to knowledge Video cables looses their properties over longer distances. I am looking for functioning way to ensure it will work that will not cost a lot of money. (3x times DP 1.4 fibre cable is an option but quite expensive one) As I am looking for 3x FullHD 144hz is it possible to use some kind of splitter? HDMI? one cable from PC to a splitter and then into monitors? Thank you for any suggestions, tips and solutions

Budget (including currency): $340 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, unity, roblox, apex, Microsoft flight sim (which crashes every time I try to open it, any fixes or is it just my hardware?) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I have a very unique setup that I am trying to upgrade. Right now I have two monitors and a nvidia geforce gtx 670 evga. I know it’s really old and it is a major bottleneck to my pc, but anyway I have a good modern cpu, 32gig of ram, new ssd, motherboard, etc. I am looking to upgrade to a triple monitor setup with one primary 34” curved ultra wide and 2 27” curved monitors next to it. I am looking for the primary to be used because I don’t have the budjet for new, but I found a good deal on 2 new 27” monitors for $108 each. My question is if my Gpu can handle it. The DisplayPort output still works and the other two older connectors still work as well. Right now I use the dp for my main and the older one for my secondary. Can my gpu handle an ultrawide and Two others? Is there even a way to connect them? I have usb3 so maybe I could do something with that like usb3 to hdmi? The reason why I say it is because my hdmi port got waterlogged and doesn’t work anymore. Also, any suggestions on a 34” 21:9 monitor I can find used with shipping for under $150? Thanks!

I found a ThinkPad USB 3 dock in storage at work, and my coworker has a T470s. Will it be possible to triple monitor using the DVI ports from the dock + HDMI from the laptop? Or will the triple monitor only go as far as laptop + 2 DVI?

My coworkers are using 3rd gen i3's for their workstation and some are interested in running a triple monitor. According to Intel's support pages, it should be possible. Is there a CPU/resolution limitation? For one of my coworkers, here's how I configured it: 2x DVI to DisplayPort on a 1280x1024 Dell monitor 1x VGA on 1920x1080 Lenovo monitor It doesn't seem to work, however. I extend to one display, and one of the montors stops working. I tried with Intel's Graphics Control Panel, and the 3rd monitor doesn't show. Pre-COVID, he was able to use triple monitor, but I can't recall if it was before using a Lenovo monitor with webcam or before I swapped his desktop (same 3rd gen i3+8GB RAM). Drivers are also up-to-date (which I made sure of last year when most are working from home). I now have another coworker who's interested in doing it with (not sure about the cable configuration): 2x 1920x1080 ASUS monitor 1x 1366x768 Dell monitor P.S. their interest came from me, I think. However, I got a Coffee Lake i7 + 32GB RAM with 3x 1080p.

Windows 10, 64-bit MSI Z87M Gaming (BIOS v1.5) i5-4670k OCed to 4.6ghz 16GB DDR3 CL6 RAM (Ripjaws) Gigabyte GTX 1080Ti Gaming OC 11G + NZXT Kraken G12 Seasonic 650W I have three monitors (LG 23MP68VQ) that accept VGA, HDMI and DVI. The GPU only has 1 HDMI, 1 DVI, and 3 DP ports, so one of the monitors need to convert from DisplayPort. I have DP-HDMI cables, and active DP-HDMI adapters, none of which seem to work specifically on the 1080Ti. I have another rig (Ryzen, 1660 Super) that I tried the DP-HDMI cables/adapters on, and they're outputting to the monitors correctly. Is there anything about the 1080Ti that makes it incredibly picky with cables? I've picking at this problem for weeks now and I have no leads. I've done most fixes suggested on the internet, including updating the DisplayPort firmware to no avail. To elaborate on what was attempted: power cycling the monitors a clean reinstall of display drivers (DDU). DisplayPort firmware upgrade tool provided by NVidia. changing GPU power management to favor performance manually configuring the monitors to check HDMI inputs rotating the cables between the available ports on the GPU spamming "detect displays" on both Nvidia control panel and Windows settings (Extend Screen, too). NVidia control panel's TV detection function Disabling FreeSync on the monitors Thank you muchly for any and all help. I trust Linus for PC-related things and I've already transitioned from lurker to active poster on several forums trying to fix this.

Hey everyone! I have a problem with my current setup, I have a laptop screen which is 4k and two monitors that have different resolution, and configured like this: Screen 1 is my laptop and the others are my monitors. The problem is is that those monitors are physically much larger then they seem due to their different resolution. Is there anyway i can change the physical size within these settings? Because it would be nice if i could go from screen 2 to 3 with my mouse without going through screen 1. Thanks!

Hi I currently have a multi-monitor set up and was wondering what graphics card I will need in my next build so I can game on all 3 screens. Link to monitors - PQ27 Pro. Its a 27" 1440p 165Hz capable screen. Aiming to play between 60 - 120 fps depending on the game. I was told by local custom PC builders that I would need a 3080 in order to push the number of pixels. Not sure if they were trying to up-sell me on the product or if its really necessary. Would appreciate some advice. Rest of the build spec in my previous post. Edit: Games - Satisfactory, Minecraft (want to try with ray tracing), Cyberpunk, Assassins Creed Workload - CAD modelling (Fusion 360)

Good day, following problem: I try to use Eyefinity with 3 monitors, but I have a 240HZ monitor and 2 60HZ monitors I want all three to run at the maximum refresh rate, but unfortunately that doesn't work. With 2 connected monitors (240 + 60HZ) it works to select 240Hz and 60Hz with Eyefinity activated. if all 3 are connected, this is no longer possible, all only run at 60 Hz I use an RX 5700XT and the Radeon Software 2020 20.4.2 The 240 HZ monitor is connected via display port, the 60 HZ each with HDMI The OS is Windows 10 64 bit version 1909 (build 18363.778) How can I implement what works with 2 with 3? Thanks!

Hey, I just got my VG249Q (IPS 144HZ 1080P 24") and it's a beast! Coming from an old 60hz. I am looking forward into a 3 monitor setup as I would use them only for racing games. I mainly play AAA games, competitive games and racing games. My only use of the 3 monitors simultaneous would be in those racing games. Now, should I buy 2 of the same monitor that I have knowing that I will not use all three in all games I play ? OR Should I buy 2 same monitors (60-75hz, IPS, 24") at a lower price ?

Hello. If you are in hurry please do not read text in brackets() it is not essential to problem. So my story goes like that: Two months ago i decided to sell my old PC because 4670k was not enough anymore. Sold it for quite a good price, and began to build my new rig. Time for some specs: Mobo: ASUS ROG X470-F (I hate idea of chipset fan, besides PCI Express 4.0 is useless now and won't made difference in near future) CPU: AMD 2700X (bought it new w/o cooler for less than 2700)(planing to upgrade to 3700X after 4000series launch) RAM: Patriot Viper 2x8 Gb 3200Mhz Cooler: AIO SilentiumPC Navis Evo ARGB 280mm (brand probably not known outside Poland, known here for great price to value(80 bucks for 280 AIO with ARGB!)) Drives: From old PC: 240 SSD Iridium Pro, 256 Intel NVME, 750gb 2,5" Hitachi, 320Gb and 1Tb Samsung 5400" 3,5", also bought 1Tb SSD NVME XLR8. (why so many? Why not. Some of them was for free etc.) PSU: From old PC also SilentiumPC Supremo 550W 80plus gold. (relatively good PSU DC-DC converter etc.) Monitor 1: Samsung S24E390HL FullHD (bought it used cheap some time ago) Monitor 2: Samsung 920NV Syncmaster 1440x900 connected via VGA to HDMI dongle (my 10 YO monitor, i use it as a secondary) Windows 10 x64 latest update And finally GPU: Plan was to buy 1080, but cannot hold myself from 1080Ti. (Used on warranty it is priced like new 2060 in my region, and quite a bit faster. So i bought EVGA 1080Ti SC2 and later returned it and bought ASUS 1080Ti ROG(Later i will tell you why)). After building everything seems to work great. Problem was GPU was really bored with this Monitor. So i bought new one, Acer Nitro XV272UPBMIIPRZX 2K, 144HZ freesync, HDR monitor. So now i have three monitors. Problem is when i use heavily GPU, my 2K monitor sometimes is turning black and turns off backlight for like 4 seconds, like when you change resolution. It only does it on 2K monitor, only when all 3 of them are used, only when using freesync and frequency of problem depends on GPU usage and probably quantity of movement at screen. My theory was that EVGA GPU is bad. I turned it to stock, even downclocked and it made no difference. So i bought another 1080Ti(ASUS), but problem did not disappeared. Had to send one back so i send EVGA (It is engineered and made much better with more features than ASUS but also much warmer and a lot noisier ASUS feels like plastic toy, but for me it has better chip (2ghz w/o problem) and it was way cooler and quieter). So my second theory was that monitor is bad, so i replaced it with Acer Nitro VG270U 2K 144Hz freesync monitor(also previous one had biggest BLB i ever seen). Also made no difference. Changed DP cable and problem still exists. It's working fine when i use HDMI, but then i cannot use freesync, so it is usless. Also of course i tried different drivers, wipe between installs BIOS updates etc. So why is it still doing that ?

Hi everybody! I've just recently treated myself to a third monitor, which I'm really enjoying. But I'm kind of OCD when it comes to the looks of my setup, and I want my wallpaper(s) to look decent. Since my setup is kind of unconventional, it's proving to be difficult to find something I like. I have three WQHD 2560 / 1440 16:9 monitors, two of which are horizontal and one (furthest to the right) is vertical. I like really minimalistic and/or abstract wallpapers, having them animated (I'm currently using wallpaper engine to achieve that) is nice as well. My desktops are very clean, I even have icons disabled and the taskbar is set to auto hide. I'm willing to get my hands dirty and make something myself, but I don't really have any idea where to start. Plus I'm definitely not artsy... Where do you guys find your wallpapers? Is there anybody out there with a setup similar to me? Something you can recommend? Or is there maybe even somebody out there who is willing and able to make me a custom wallpaper (I'd of course pay for the trouble) or who can recommend somebody who can do it for me? Thanks in advance everybody, I'm really looking forward to any help you all can give me on this.

Hi guys, I've recently set up a triple monitor setup to play DiRT Rally 2.0. I'm using 3 different monitors (25" Acer, 24" BenQ, 21" Acer). I set them up using Nvidia surround, and they work pretty well. I was wondering though if it is possible to make it so that the game displays across them all as if they were the same size, but only display what would actually be visible. (Don't know how understandable that is, screenshots to explain a little better: What I want it to be like: https://prnt.sc/r398l1, and https://prnt.sc/r39bsr || How it currently is: https://prnt.sc/r39ctn). Also, I believe this is the option I'm looking for(just in nvidia form) : https://prnt.sc/r39t8p Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how?

Hi. I'm a CS student and about to purchase my third monitor for my setup. However, I run a Ryzen 5 2400G setup with no GPU currently and with only two HDMI outputs. My idea was to buy a 1650 Super as the driver for the new monitor, so that it can also be used for occasional gaming. In this regard I wondered if it would be possible to run the two secondary monitors on my CPU (Slack, Browser windows) and run the new gaming monitor on the GPU or if it would be better to run everything on the GPU? The reason for asking is, that I can get a 1650 Super for around 220$ with DP, HDMI and DVI output. I don't want to use DVI though, so if I want a card that has 3 outputs consisting of only HDMI or DP I have to pay roughly 100-120$ more. (Thanks Denmark...) So obviously, I'd rather prefer the cheaper option if there's no serious drawback to this setup. Thanks.

An amazing feature of COD:MW (2019) is the option to have a natively supported fullscreen extended window that automatically spans across 3 monitors without needing to waste time trying to configure NV surround and wait for a transition. I am able to leave my display setup as 3x 1080p monitors, instead of having to manually convert them to 5760x1080. Are there any other PC games that have also began supporting this feature? What about 3rd party programs that achieve the same effect in games that don't have this setting?

Hey I'm pretty sure this would be a problem, but I'm not gonna act like I'm the most knowledgeable person that's ever been on this type of stuff. So I figured I'd throw up a quick forum post and see what others had to say. My question is will running 2 graphics cards (1070 for my 144hz 1080P Benq, and my old 1060 GB for my other 2 monitors both also at 1080P) bottleneck performance/cause issues. I want my main display to not be bottle necked at all, and I want the GPU running my games to not be processing 2 other monitors that have Chrome/Discord/etc. running as well taking up some of that Video Memory. So my question is really, is this something I can do? Can I use a 1070 8gb card as my main GPU for games, and have a 1060 also in there 2 strictly run my other 2 monitors to keep as much slack off of my main 1070 as possible. Thanks for reading and thank you to and replies that may come, and if you would like any clarification as to what I mean above feel free to ask.

Hello! I’m not entirely sure if this is the place to put this or not but here goes I’m having some issues with my setup and I’d like to see if anyone has had this problem and found a solution. Here are a few details about my setup: I have a total of two computers One laptop which is my work computer. The outputs are 1 HDMI, 1 Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C, 2 USB 3.0 One desktop PC which I built for gaming. Graphics card is a RTX 2070 Super with 3 DisplayPort outs and 1 HDMI out I have a triple monitor setup One LG ultrawide monitor. Two HDMI inputs Two HP 1080p monitors. Each has 1 DisplayPort, 1 VGA, and 1 DVI inputs My current solution is this: Wavlink USB C,Type-A Dual 4K Laptop Docking Station https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DCLK55V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UCdXDbHTBQTBY This allows me to only have 2 cables (HDMI our and Thunderbolt 3 out) coming from my work laptop and connect all three monitors and peripherals, which is very necessary for my laptop and works amazing. the issue I’m running into is with my Gaming PC, which does not have a single Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port. The dock works in two ways USB Type C and USB 3.0 to get signal from the computer. On my Gaming PC I’m plugged into a USB 3.2 port on the back, but whenever I am using the side monitors and playing games I get really frequent (and very bad) frame drops on both my game and my external monitors. This may be because my CPU doesn’t have any integrated graphics (AMD 3600X) but I’m not sure what the exact problem is. I really like this setup because it allows me to have one keyboard and mouse for both work and when I’m off work and literally only requires that I swap out one cable on the Wavlink Dock. Does anyone know anything I can do to get my Gaming PC to work smoothly, without spending too much money? Apologies for the long post! TL;DR: Having issues with frame rate drops because the docking station I’m using for my laptop bottlenecks my gaming PC when using the side monitors. Plugged into my laptop with Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C, and my gaming PC (no integrated graphics) with USB 3.2

So i have 1 watercooled 1080TI and i would like to upgrade to a triple monitor setup. Id like to use 1 monitor for 1080p high FPS gaming and two monitors just for watching videos and browsing the web. Getting to the point, would it be possible and/or necessary to limit 2 monitors to 60hz and one to 240hz? I want my middle monitor to be used for 240fps gaming and i don't want my fps to be hurt from the other two monitors. Anyone who understands this subject better than me offer any wisdom? Should i just buy 2 60hz panels and one 240hz panel?

So essentially I am attempting to mount three 27 inch monitors in a corner (its a corner desk). The issue I'm having is deciding if the mount I've chosen will be able to contort to the angles required. Starting from the corner, two monitor arms would have to be at right angles to each other along each wall, and the centre mount at 45 degrees. The best mount I've found so far is: Mount Also, in case of any compatibility issues my monitors are: Centre Screen: MSI Optix 27 Inch Curved Screen Edge Screens: Kogan 27 Inch Frameless Monitor I am yet to purchase the Kogan side screens, so if anyone thinks there are better value for money screens which still look aesthetically pleasing (small/no bezels), please let me know! (Note: Kogan Cost $199 AUD) Many thanks in advance for the help!

I now have three monitors to work with and it has been amazing for productivity. I have tried “Dirt 3” on the triple screen setup and it is amazing aside from the game being rather difficult. I have tried this with a few other games I have and they are clearly not designed for it as the Dirt 3 was. I’m looking for recommendations of games that work well with this extremly wide ratio. Any game type or genre is fine. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys. I'm planning on building a home workstation. I wish to do triple monitors, 1440p resolution at a high framerate (well above 60hz, ideally 144hz - seems to reduce eyestrain and the smoothness is just nice). My computer's workload is going to be primarily electronics CAD and programming, maybe a bit of light mechanical CAD in future. My programs are highly CPU intensive. Barring GPU acceleration features, GPU requirements are low; lots of GUIs, 2d drawings, and occasional low-res 3d rendering. As far as gaming is concerned, I rarely play games. So for gaming i'm totally fine to compromise as necessary by reducing framerate and / or # screens. A secondary goal of my build is to reduce system noise. Not having a card sound like a jet engine 24/7 would be nice To me it looks like this problem boils down to: what card can realistically push this many pixels continuously for light graphics tasks, and bonus points if it's quiet? I should also note that I'm still researching monitors, and i'm ok with getting a GSync or FreeSync specific monitor if i absolutely have to. I will be running Windows and VM / Dual Boot Linux, if that affects the AMD vs NVidia selection from a drivers perspective. So what graphics card would you guys recommend?

Hey, I was just curious to know if my pc would suffer a lot with a triple monitor setup... I always had 2 asus 144hz 1080p displays, but I recently got gifted a PG278QR, which is 2560x1440, and I am just worried I wont be able to handle that much. I by no means plan on gaming on 3 monitors, I would only play in the main one, being the 2k panel. Thanks pc: 16gb ddr3 hyperx Ram i7 4790k. gtx 1070 8 gb strix

Hi! Quick question: I have a Windforce gtx 1070, and am wondering what would be a better option for displays. Will the 1070 be able to handle running three 1080p monitors, game stretched across all three monitors? Or, should I go for an 1080p/1440p ultrawide? Thanks!

Hi, I am planning on putting together a sim racing rig to supplement my existing setup. I currently mount my wheel to my desk and use the 3 monitors I use for all other games. I am looking to get 3 more monitors for the sim rig, I want to use my existing gaming pc for both setups. I'm not really interested in VR currently but I see that it would make this simpler. Is there a way I can connect all monitors to my pc without constantly removing cables? Thanks. Specs: Cpu: Intel 4790k Mobo: maximus vi ranger GPU: Asus gtx 1080

Hi all, looking for peoples thoughts on a stupid idea. So background, I currently have 3 x 30" Dell U3011 2560x1600, 16:10 screens on an modified Aavara triple monitor stand to deal with the weight. I love these screens, but they are from 2011, and have a dead pixel each which is starting to shit me. I rarely use them in 3 screen ultra wide, though do very occasionally, so I would prefer to keep the replacements matching just in case. The only thing I have really found that stands out is the The Acer XB321HK Predator XB1: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37582/acer-xb321hk-predator-xb1-uhd-g-sync-32in-ips-gaming-monitor . Anyone have experience with them, or have another suggestion? Any idea how they look if you half ass them and run @ 1440p for if I was going to run them in ultra wide? Plus sides: Can re-use my current mount which saves me an awful lot of desk space I generally prefer IPS G-sync Fairly small size bezels, vs the dells anyways 60Hz isn't great, but I don't really play any shooters atm. Down sides: $3500 is an awful lot to drop for some dead pixels..... 60Hz isn't amazing moving forward DP and HDMI 1.4m (why?) so with my video card, I can only run 2 @ 60Hz and 1 @ 30Hz (MSI Gaming X 1080Ti = 2 DP, 2 HDMI 2.0 and DVI) Shouldnt matter in theory since no world exists in which 3 x 4k would run well off my video cards. Or go super dumb, 3 of those 43" screens and just...... dislocate my neck.
