Need recommendations on portable monitors. Im an Engineer and don't need super color accurate screens ( I have my blue light filter on 24/7 feel free to roast me). I mostly want something that would work well for both on a plane and on a random table or desk. I'm not sure what kind of budget I'm in, but considering the other solution coworker have (see below) is about $500 Id think anything $200 and below would be easily approved. Some of my coworkers have the Xebec TriScreen (LTT did a video on this linked below) I tried a coworkers the other day and couldn't stand it. I am looking at other solutions to request. The one coworker who really liked the Xebec said he used it on a flight. Which I could see being nice since it doesn't require additional tray footprint.

Hello everyone looking for some help finding a laptop. 1. I've been trying to find a website where I can get benchmarks on diffrent games with a particular laptop but that does not seem to exist in the same way with components for a desktop. If anyone knows of one let me know I could use it to make a decision. 2. I want a computer to game and stream when I travel. I vacation for months out of the year and want something I can play Cod warzone and stream it. Looking to spend $2,500-$3000 but I want to make sure it can run it at least 120 fps. Ps. I would prefer something with a screen over 17in. Thank you in advance. .

Budget (including currency): $2500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, School, Programming, Travel Other details (Important): I am attending college this semester and traveling a great distance across the country without a car. My primary mode of transportation to and from home will be by plane. With this in mind, I currently have a desktop at home. Though I am worried about moving it cross country especially with how often I'd be going back and forth between the two. Additionally I'd need to be able to play games on this device as I am on an eSports scholarship. My current ideas are, a laptop (unsure of what laptop currently). A small form factory PC, that I can put in my carry onbag. Also I'm not afraid of building a PC, I have built a few, and helped with many. Or shipping my PC cross-country and remove the GPU. BIggest issue with the last idea is just the frequency of moving. Likely, I'll be moving between home and college 4~ times a year in addition to any LAN events I'd attend. Obviously I don't want to have to spend money if at all possible, but if it's something I have to do, I will do it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! (Edit : Tags, and Use)

I know I saw the video about the skate attachment for shoes that you have to walk to use, but the Airtrick seems a bit cooler. Anyone seen them in the wild or heard anything about them? I need real Airgear in my life... Airtrick eskatesAirtrick eskatesAirtrick eskates

Hey guys not sure if this is the right part of the site to ask about this but I'll be moving soon for college across country and I'll be taking a plane and I need some help and advice with how I should transport my computer. Currently I plan to disassemble most of the parts leaving the chassis pretty much empty and hand carrying my HDD and SSDs with me along with my GPU and Motherboard but I do plan on leaving the CPU in the Motherboard socket but I don't know if that's safe? I didn't wanna bring the CPU box since it's really bulky but if I have to do so to make sure it's safe please do tell. Everything else besides that will be pretty much be put in their original box. Another concern I have right now is they don't have any anti-static bags big enough for my HDD and I was thinking of using paper bags to use as an alternative as that's what I've seen to do online, is that still viable advice or is that misinformation? I was going to order it online but it would take 2 weeks and my flight is in a week so that was poor planning on my part.

Hey everyone - I’m a freelance video producer and need to buy a laptop that allows me to edit on-site for quick turnarounds. Currently edit on a desktop system with a Ryzen 7 3700x and a 3070. Looking for a windows machine with a light enough weight to not be a huge burden for travel but has the power to handle 4k editing when needed. I know I’m describing a mac here but I’d prefer a windows laptop. Budget is 1500 but I can kick it up to 2000 if it’s mandatory.

Good morning, I am looking for wireless microphones to travel with and record everything (kind of IRL stream) preferably with 2 sources. I have in mind traveling to another country with my cousin for 2 weeks. It's going to be my first trip "alone" (without parents) so I want to try and record everything. Already configured everything on our phones to stream youtube/twitch to have all the videos saved up in real time to the cloud so when we come back, we can watch our adventures again hehehe. What I'm looking for: - Wireless microphone (Bluetooth if possible) - Cheap (Under 50€ if possible) - Portable (To clip it on clothes) - 2 Sound sources (For me and my cousin) What I want it's something like "RØDE Wireless Go II" but on the cheaper side. Basically 2 microphones and 1 receptor (or bluetooth mic to the phone). This costs 300€ What I've found is something like this but I would like it to be Bluetooth with 2 sound sources: This costs 15€ (it's on sale atm) This one with 2 sound sources for 50€ but no bluetooth: https://www.amazon.es/DayDup-Micrófono-Inalámbrico-Portátil-transmisión/dp/B0BL767821 Does anybody already tried a bluetooth wireless portable microphone that works fine and do the job for under 50€? Thank you everyone!

So, has anyone ever taken a set of screwdrivers (sub-7 inches for TSA compliance) and spare batteries for their laptop (built-in sub 100 Wh, but replaceable, like a framework level of difficulty here) and actually bothered replacing a battery on the plane due to the built in one running out of juice? Forget any rational questions you may have about why just curious as to answers to this silly (potentially dangerous if you puncture the battery) idea. EDIT: I'm incredible disappointed with the responses I got. I'm not going to go through my technical or personal background, but yes, I have considered literally every danger point, safety concern, etc. written below and a number not. I'm not surprised by any of it. I also didn't ask to the feasibility, practicality, desirability, etc. of the matter. The question asked IF anyone HAS done it. I remember actually having a genuine moment where I considered posting this question asking if this incredibly stupid ideas has been done before because I feared that the comments would be filled with lots and lots of people posting about "why would you even?" or "have you considered obvious bad thing about obvious bad idea?" or "this would obviously be bad idea due to point mentioned in the question itself". In other words, negative reactions to an idea admitted in the second line to be terrible simply asking if terrible idea has ever had a practitioner willing to talk about it come out and share what they've learned with the class "Yes, fire indeed hot and hot in this particular way with this particular pain feeling" and no one actually answering the darn question. Indeed, that is what happened. There has got to be some concise way to signal that "idea is bad and I know that, now can anyone answer silly idea with silly response". Side note: most technically competent people are not so good outside their chosen domain. You'd be very surprised, but doctors, especially research doctors, are stupid bad at dealing with tech beyond a certain level. They'll have cache sync issues with their own code (regardless of if they write it or not), printer issues, etc. The only people I've ever met that were still doing the two finger keyboard typing game were in a research lab. So, they're just as likely to get freaked as anyone else

Hi guys! I will be moving soon to Tanzania (not reliable electricity neither internet - need for battery and at least 1TB storage), and I am looking for a laptop that fits me, could you please help me? I am a computer engineer and video game's developer, but lately, I've been kind of lost with PC hardware... I am looking for a laptop with as much battery life as possible, but powerful enough to develop "indie games" and other software. Then I'd love to have repairability and, if possible, quality parts/structure. So far, the one that have caught my eye is the Framework Laptop (with an i7-1280P). However, it is a bit too expensive for me, and I am not sure about it not having a dedicated graphics card. Do you have any recommendations for my use case? Thanks!!!!

Hello people! I am planning a ~14 Day Roadtrip around the US Westcoast with my GF next year. The idea is to start in San Francisco and then drive over LA to Las Vegas and fly back from there. Now the thing is, all the stuff you find online is tourist crap and I want to get some natives first hand experience here. 1. What are places worth visiting? 2. What are places not worth visiting? 3. Any hotels recommendations? 4. Transportation in the big cities (don't want to waste half the vacation in traffic :D) 5. Others? 6. Tips and tricks? For example we are thinking about visiting Grand Canyon while in Vegas but it's like a 5h drive so it kills an entire day, is that worth it? Thaaaaanks!

Hey guys I might be moving into a van or camper semi full time. I was wondering if anyone here had experience with actual desktop setups in campers/vans. Is a Desktop PC even feasible for something like this? Or should I just be looking at a laptop for the efficiency it brings. I already have a desktop with a 3080, so if I could keep it that'd be great! Maybe something like a battery backup would be in order to smooth out the spikes. (Also I would be plugged into an external outlet while gaming) Any insight is appreciated ^^

Hi everybody, I'm planning on traveling to Germany on september and I'm considering buying a new PC case for my computer. The one the I currently have is the Meshify C, which is a wonderful case, but is has several problems design-wise, like the front panel flter which is a pain to clean, and a little bit of damage. By damage I mean that some of the pcie screws are stripped (the two ones that hold the gpu on the x16 slot). Anyways, I plan on buying a Meshify 2 Compact Dark TG and bring it on my checked luggage. I'm traveling with my little brother so his checked baggage will be mostly empty aside from clothes. The question is, it is doable and worth the hassle? Buying it in my country (Uruguay), is almost impossible without importing it from overseas, and taxes are outrageously high so buying it would be more than double the price of the pc case.

Hello, I am a college student planning to stay on my campus during the summer. In about a week, I'm gonna be home for a few days and I plan to bring my PC back to campus (it's about a 3-hour drive). I've watched Linus' video on packing and moving PCs, and have an understanding of what I need to do, although I don't think I have most of the packaging materials. I plan on taking out the GPU, CPU cooler (air cooler), and hard drive. I have the original boxes for each of these, but I don't have any of the original bagging. For the RAM, I'll make sure to zip-tie the edges of the slots. I'll also be taping all loose wires to the bottom of my case. From there, I'm not sure how to go about filling the case with packing materials, or how to protect the outside of the case (I don't have the original box for my case). If anyone has recommendations for certain materials to purchase (either online or at a store), please let me know. Also, my monitor will be in its original box, which should be safe. Here's my parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TRCgrr

I'm going to be moving soon, and I will be taking my PC (Mid-tower ATX case) with me. I am also a college student, and have considered bringing my PC to my dorm room as well. I could simply buy a pack of instapaks for safely travelling with my PC, although I'm curious if there's a reusable alternative to instapaks.

Is there any way to make your travel faster? I want to travel from Egypt to Germany in less than 1 minutes. 2nd Question: Is there any flight without Airport? I might some countries or cities don't have a airport.

We've all seen those YouTube videos where they go through their laptop bag/tech bag/tech they bring with them when they travel. I figured it would be cool to see what non-tech YouTubers bring with them. So LTT Forum members, what is in your tech bag? My laptop bag has the following: Bag: Amazon Basics 15.6" Laptop and Tablet Bag Smallest pocket: 3 microfiber clothes of different sizes Big (middle) Pocket: Laptop: MSI GS66 Stealth Laptop Charger Tablet: iPad 5th gen in STM Dux case or iPad pro 2020 11" with 2nd gen Apple Pencil and Logitech Slim Folio Pro case Organizer Pocket: Uni Kuru Toga mechanical pencil with extra eraser and lead (best pencils there are) Pilot G-2 Pen No-name portable charger from costco Airpods 2nd Gen Some old Bose wired earbuds MSI Clutch GM11 Gaming Mouse Wall wart with usb c Wall wart with usb a usb a to micro b cable usb c to usb c cable lightning cable flashdrive Sorry mods if this is should be in off topic, but i figured it was tech related and belonged here

Hi, so I'm currently getting ready for a big move and a little short on time (Next week is the date) I was wondering if it's possible for me to put my PC in a suitcase, pad it with clothes and put a T-Shirt or two inside to keep everything inside safe, not much of a tech savy guy, also don't have access to any of that PC foam that typically is used.

Hi! I plan to go on a 7 hour long road trip on a Bus from a city to another. I plan to do this every 3 months. Since I can get a single ticket for myself, I can only put the computer case in front of my seat, vertically. (The storage section of the Bus is not an option as I am afraid it would slide in it and bump into other stuff...) I was wondering about what I can do to minimiz ethe risk of damaging my components? I have a Hyper Evo 212 cooler and a GTX 1070 ti MSI Duke at around 31 cm (10 inch+), installed on a miniITX board. I was thinking of removing the GPU.. But since I'll be doing it every 2-3 months, I was afraid of wearing out the GPU and Board contact pins in a year or two... (I have read that I can only remove and insert the Card like 50 times before it wears out and dies) Appreciate any suggestions!

So, I've been having some trouble with my laptop lately, and if I can't sort it out I've been considering using the opportunity to build an actual rig. That said, I travel a lot. To the point that it has been the deciding factor in choosing between a tower and a laptop. That said, I had an idea for a case that I wanted an opinion on. Assuming that I can buy or fabricate a case similar to the one used on Max's first pc build, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOw7TsIbmeM) where everything is bolted to the case would it be a safe case to travel with? In carry-on for example. My assumption is that having the GPU mounted to the actual case and maybe even having extra retaining mechanisms for the RAM would mean that as long as I had it in my carry-on, I would be able to transport it relatively easily. Does that hold true? Or would that be a bad idea and I should just get another laptop?

I am looking for some good software options for an idea I have for a road trip, however what I have in mind will almost certainly not work too well with modern navigation... well anything, I want to drive ALL the way around my state but NEVER once leave my state, no border/state line crossing, no shortcuts to save time - NO OPTIMIZATION. I want to drive the roads that are as close/the closest to my state border for my entire drive, all the while *never once leaving my state (*some exceptions for sleeping can be made but I must return to where I was last). I am currently looking at Google Earth Pro for desktop and (hopefully) exporting/importing the path to my phone for easy navigation in my car, but I want to make sure I use the best tool for my project, especially since (I assume) all modern navigation apps will help you find the best path for you, in my case, there really only is one path I can take but with way too many points to start at. I have seen another thread talking about Google Earth pro and using paths on phones, but I don't think they had much success: Thread: google maps is literally bad and I don't have a built in power outlet to charge my laptop to help me navigate over my phones connection via tethering, and I don't want to wait up to a couple hours to charge it when I could be driving instead; and to all the older people out there saying "Oh! Just use a paper map!", I will not have anyone with me for the entire trip and I don't think I will be able to collect enough detailed maps to follow my path down the many very obscure roads that are FAR less traveled. I don't really have an answer as to why I want to do this, just a stupid idea from the bottomless pit of hellish future planning that my mind tends towards quite often. What do you think? Is there better software I could be using, or even a special site/premade course somewhere within the deep dank basement dust of the almighty search engines? TL:DR I need the most wack navigation/course plotting software out there to follow the path that stays as close to my state border lines as possible, even if that means jumping on and off of any and all freeways/highways(somewhat joking), going down dirt/gravel roads, or even through the most obscure roads that very few travel. sorry for the awful mountain of text, I am awful with wording things and explaining my ideas with few words, once again sorry. -ActuallyNotACanadian

Looking for a Mechanical keyboard for traveling to and from work, also to be used when overseas (whenever that happens again). So i'm looking for a smaller board with these requirements, never had anything less then a full keyboard before so it will be a change. Main driver at home is k70 with cherry red but im up for anything. I've looked at the velocifire series, the M2 looks interesting, the Qisan 60%, the Keychron and the Anne pro 2. But ive got not that much of an idea on what i should be looking for in these smaller boards, including if they are wireless the benefits between bluetooth and wireless. Cheers for your help gang

I'm trying to find a travel case for the Ducky Mecha mini that fits the keyboard well and provides a good amount of protection. I've been looking around but so far have not seen anything that would particularly work. Anyone have any good recommendations for a 60% mechanical keyboard? Thanks!

I'm moving out! So I'm traveling by train... It's a 18 hour journey, I was wondering how should I pack my PC. I need suggestions to pack and travel it along safely. As of now I'm thinking of removing RAM,GPU,PSU and HDD from the cabinet and keep the motherboard, Processor and SSD inside the case. I have all the original boxes and ample amount of bubblewrap. The spec of the PC which needs to be carried: Ryzen 5 3600 Gigabyte A320M-H 8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz Zotac Gaming 1660 Super Twin(not the AMP) 1 TB HDD 240 GB SSD Corsair VS550 Antec NX200
