While cleaning the grooves on my Corsair Katar's scroll wheel using my thumb nail & some 50% Isopropyl Alcohol paper towel. I accidentally pressed too hard & snapped the scroll wheel's shaft off right at where it connects to the scrolling mechanism. I know if it had been on the right side where it hits the button to middle click it could've been fixed with a nail. It's thrown away now though as it was designed in such a way I couldn't attempt such a fix & have a nail stay put. So I just ordered a Logitech G600 because it was on sale for $48 & the design of Corsair's mice's scroll click is turning me off of them now. Unfortunately I'm worried that my new mouse's laser censor won't track well on my small, multi-colored, free mouse pad. For now I'm using my old G100s who's left click takes a lot of force to even register . 1: Should I try to get one from Logitech that's intended for the G600 such as the G240? 2: Do y'all have a better recommendation for around $20 that'll perform better with it's laser censor? 3: Will a RuneScape noob like me even notice a difference coming from the mouse I had & current pad? *EDIT: No I'm not trying to endorse greenhouse fabrics lol I should've taken the pic of it upside down.

Here’s How Your Battery Status Is Being Used To Track You Online By: UMER S - AUGUST, 4TH 2016 Source: http://wonderfulengineering.com/heres-how-your-battery-status-is-being-used-to-track-you-online/ I found this a bit interesting, may want to put on your tin foil for this one. I never used battery apps in the past beside the built in one. Well since I use the Windows Mobile Phone there is a few battery apps available but I believe this is a bit more of a worry with Apple and Android phone of course. Honestly not sure if I should worry about this myself, but maybe there is something to this. Thoughts? *edit @colonel_mortis points out a correction; It is websites accessing your battery levels via the phones own battery status.

Good day all, One week ago, as I was in the Newark Train Station, I went to feel for my wallet, and realized it was not there. After searching my bag, my suitcase, and my pockets, quite thoroughly, I had come to one conclusion: it was gone. Now, I have never lost anything in my life, I pride myself in being quite responsible. Due to the large numbers of crime and rush hour traffic of New York City, I can only conclude that it was stolen. I lost my driver's license, credit card, debit card, both of my airline Rapid Rewards cards, several gift cards, and about $45 cash that I kept in there, so it was not a very happy day. After recovering my credit cards, and setting up new accounts, I purchased a new wallet, but I wanted to add a tracking device in there, so I can make sure this event doesn't happen again. My question is: what tracker should I get? I'd ideally like to have it include most of the following: Thin and discreet $25-35 price range Ability to produce sound and/or vibrate Thanks everyone!

So no it's not my touchpad or anything it's just the pad you place your mouse on and move it around. My glides are quite worn now but it's still works fine on the desk, however when placed on the mouse pad I can drag it to the side of the pad all the way and it won't even travel half the distance of the whole screen. Increasing the dpi is obviously not a solution, the mouse just doesn't track the movement properly at all. I've never heard of a mousepad not working before but well it happened Only thing I can think of is something somehow happened to the laser or the mousepad coating (lel)

Hi there, I'm currently researching into the constellation method for tracking moving objects, as far as I'm aware the Oculus Rift uses this method. Currently I am reading through some heavy literature reviews and literature reports being unable to fully understand how this method works. Is there anyone that could give an introductory explanation of the method and how it works in the hope that if I grasp the basics and principle behind the method the reports will start making more sense. Thanks very much in advance!

So I'm ordering a package from Canada (i'm in the US) and I have been keeping an eye on the tracking to see where it is and it sat at "International item being forwarded to destination country" for a while then this morning it changed to USORDS USA. I have never heard of that, I used the app when I saw that. Its not a city in the US either. So I went to the desktop and looked it up in the full site and that bit was gone. Just back to saying "International item being forwarded to destination country". Any ideas?

My school recently implemented a bunch of tracking when it comes to students. Whenever you login to a computer, the webcam on it will take a picture of you when you login and save the image; whenever you visit a website that triggers a web filter, it snaps a photo and logs the site. We aren't allowed to login to our personal emails at school, and we aren't allowed to charge our phones by plugging them into school computers (they found child porn on a student's phone that way). If you have your own device, they have a new wifi network that requires you to login using your domain account before you can visit any sites. I've never logged into my personal email on a school computer, plugged my phone into a school computer, or logged into the new wifi network. I've previously logged into the old one that just required the wifi password (they've since removed it and I've stuck to mobile data since then), but not the new one. However, I noticed something odd when viewing a friend's Google Drive link at home, on my phone. I had gone through Firefox to view it because the Drive app wasn't letting me save the files. When I checked the URL, I noticed that it had directed me from "drive.google.com/folderview?" to "drive.google.com/a/osd1.org/folderview?". The "osd1.org" string is my school's domain. When I tried to remove the /a/osd1.org string and reload the page, it redirected me so that the string was in the URL again. I've never even signed into any school or personal email accounts on my phone through Firefox. The URL redirect didn't happen in Chrome or on my personal computer. I'm not sure how much my school would be able to track me through my personal device, especially when I'm at home on my personal network. Does anyone know if the school would be able to view what Drive files I viewed based on the /a/osd1.org string thing? Furthermore, does anyone know how I can fix this so I can avoid being paranoid that the school is snooping on all the Drive links I open on my phone? As a side note, I didn't actually sign any of the legal agreements at the start of the school year that would allow the school to seize and search my property and view my internet history at school. I've signed the agreements in the past, but I "forgot" to do it this year because it would have meant allowing the school to seize my phone for up to a semester if I got caught with it out too many times (I obviously don't agree with that practice, so I refused to sign an agreement that would allow them to do that).

I hope privacy isn't becoming stale subject already. If so, then sorry I wasted anybody's time.

Did the Supreme Court just do something beneficial? Well, of course they did. The SCOTUS only really cares about making rulings when the Constitution is being screwed around with, and lo and behold they've ruled since the constitution was being screwed with. I agree, their ruling makes sense. Can't strap GPS on someones person without getting approval first. It is, of course, a technicality as a ruling. Tracking will still happen, that tracking just won't be eligible for use in court. Not that all needs for tracking ever need to go to court, of course. http://gizmodo.com/supreme-court-rules-government-gps-trackers-can-break-f-1694717207

Original Source: https://twitter.com/PCMasterRaceSub/status/628880171978899456 Windows 10 has been out less than a week and someone has already created a tool to disable tracking analytic from Microsoft and give those who want it, their privacy back. How the tools works: It disables telemetry through the registry Disabled the AutoLogger found under DiagTrack Deletes and disables services Changes Host Files. You can find the full post on the /r/PCMasterRace forum HERE and you can download the program HERE if you so wish. My thoughts? Damn, that was fast. While the tracking is on my mind from time to time, I don't really care. There are plenty of ways to recover information. It is nice to know there is an option to turn these features off now. Your Thoughts? Please leave them down below! UPDATE - MORE OF MY THOUGHTS While I understand some users hesitance to use this program, that's fine. I'm not forcing you to use it. Use at your own digression. I personalty don;t really care about tracking, so I'm not bothered. I thought I would just share this information with you.

I purchased a Corsair M45 mouse about 2 weeks ago and after about 3 days it started jumping and not tracking, I have a SteelSeries QcK mousepad which I keep clean so the surface should not be the problem. I returned the first mouse just thinking I got a defective one and received my second one a few days later and then after a few more days the same problems started happening but even worse, it won't track at all, firmware flashes/updates fail when they try and put the mouse into firmware mode and no amount of uninstalling and reinstalling drivers has fixed this. I have tried USB 2 and 3 ports on my motherboard (MSI z87m Gaming). I updated to Windows 10 after returning the first but the mouse still worked first few days and then started having problems. Is my luck just really bad or is there a problem with my PC (All other mice and keyboards worked fine)?

for some ridiculous reason my Razer Ouroboros has ridiculous tracking issues when using it on a RAZER mouse pad. it works perfectly fine on any other surface except for any razer mouse pad. I've tried it on two separate razer mouse pads each with different textures. when using the mouse on these surfaces the tracking to the left and down is incredibly buggy, the cursor jumps around and catches. I have a feeling it has something to do with that surface calibration thing in synapse but anything i do in there doesn't help.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had/solved the issue where the original/molten naga has failed to track. The buttons work fine and the lights are active, but the mouse just refuses to track on my razer exactmat or destructor mat. They both work just fine on a piece of paper, my steel series mat, my table, even my cloth chair. I have a deathadder which works on my exactmat and destructor with no problem so it shouldn't be my mats problem. I have had my mice for both over 3 years each with no problem with the mats before. I have already installed the newest synapse at razer's site, but nothing. I would think it is an firmware problem and would think to download some old firmware from the net but would like to ask the community first. This problem isn't just me as some people have posted it online before, but I have yet to see an official/successful answer to this issue. This youtube video (not mine) pretty much shows exactly what is happening to me (except my cursor does not move at all on the razer products). Many thanks

This post may contain more than 140 characters Starting today, Twitter users on iOS and Android devices will be alerted to a change in the type of data the social network is collecting on them, The new tracking method is set in place to fine tune user experience with much more refined & personalized ad for user Twitter Accesses the data via The App Graph , App graph collects the list of applications you have installed & are mostly being used by you But they are not collecting any data from within the applications. New App Tracking Capabilities Help Personalize User Experience & Benefit Advertisers in a real way.. Twitter claims that it's using your app graph to help build a more tailored experience for you on Twitter Like adding Tweets, accounts, or other content to your timeline that we think you'll find especially interesting. Improved “who to follow” suggestions that share similar interests. Showing ads with more relevant promoted content tailored for individual. The app graph data can be turned off, once you turn off the setting, twitter will remove your app graph data from their app & stop future collection. That's the basics: Now if you want to remove this feature follow these instructions : Disabling for Android: Tap the overflow icon Tap Settings. Tap the account you’d like to adjust. Under Other, you can adjust the setting to Tailor Twitter based on my apps. Disabling for iOS: From the Me tab, tap the gear icon Tap Settings. Tap the account you’d like to adjust. Under Privacy, you can adjust the setting to Tailor Twitter based on my apps. FYI if you haven’t seen the prompt yet, Twitter isn’t collecting your app data. This will be the message you'll be seeing (middle blue bar) According to WSJ Twitter’s user growth has been stagnating. Twitter is not the first one to track your app usage as well Facebook is also able to see which apps users have installed on their phones, if the apps use the Facebook SDK (as many do). Twitter, meanwhile, is implementing the app tracking data in a way that’s fairly visible showing a user a large, blue prompt that points users to their settings. It will also honor settings a user previously had configured including the “Limit Ad Tracking” on an iOS device or the “Opt out of interest-based ads” on Android Although this may be lightly concerning to those who view this as privacy violation , twitter is being very open about it & it's not just a tiny popup that disappear after a while when you are not noticing.. So what are your thoughts on this? post your thoughts & comments & rants on this topic down beloooooooooooooooooooooe... Bonus: Link: http://techcrunch.com/2014/11/26/twitter-app-graph/

On top of the overzealous data retention requirements, a new legislation proposal by the UK home secretary would force the ISPs to adopt static IP address for every account, so that both users and devices can be uniquely identified online, just like telephone numbers. It is still quite unclear how this measure would be effective, from technical and legal point of view. Source: Your IP address could soon become an identification number

#HELPGATE (did you guys hear that? i does more than bending) First credit goes to Onstar Auto feature which initially help to get the distress signal out in the first place.. Alright, Scenario: 28 year old Melissa Vasquez's woman's car rolled 500 feet down an embankment near San Jose, California,The OnStar feature in car triggered a call to police at 2 p.m. Monday, but placed the car near her home in the town of Campbell, California.Police searched the area fruitlessly for two hours, and reportedly received another alert at 4 p.m. giving her location as downtown San Jose. At 3 a.m. Tuesday, Vasquez's stepmother called Campbell police to report her missing.Officer Dave Cameron, who responded, got Vasquez's iPad, guessed the password after three tries, and activated the lost phone feature, which displayed a map of the phone's location. Cameron forwarded screen shots of the map from the iPad to the San Jose Police department, and Vasquez was found within 20 minutes. images of rescue: courtesy huffington post & CBS networks Officer Dave Cameron Rescue images: More images courtesy Huffington post & CBS news footage(click spoiler) This feature can be found on various other devices & for example , AT&T offers a smartwatch-like device called "Filip" that keeps kids constantly in touch with their parents and tracks their locations,Kids can call one of five preprogrammed numbers, or push an emergency button that, among other things, constantly updates their locations. Time to turn up the heat: B) Privacy Issues.. Alright, this doesn't come without a concern about the broiling issue of privacy , Vasquez's rescue highlights another aspect of a debate that has been raging over tracking people through their cellphones. The American Civil Liberties Union is fighting against government and law enforcement tracking of peoples' movements through various means, including cellphones. The circumstances of Vasquez's rescue are unusual, as law enforcement "does not have the technical competence or resources to track devices according to the law in most cases," Lieberman said. "It would be better to have a universal policy of authorized third parties that can access your device as part of your initial purchase." Or, the device could generate a unique code that could be shared with others to allow tracking For example Cyber stalkers are able to track victims, often in cases of domestic violence as NPR reported. But in other ways this is rather amazing way technology can help a stranded or a hurt person, Just gotta let the right people have to take control over it & not letting them abuse the system for their own person vendettas or issues..this is a really good news long since we heard that technology can be used for really realy bad things.. for more reads: http://www.technewsworld.com/story/Find-My-iPhone-Find-Me-Lost-Phone-Feature-Helps-Rescuers-Locate-Crashed-Car-81206.html Do Post your thought & replies , i do read em all

The black matte coating on my Mionix Ensis 320 aluminum mouse pad appears to have scratched/worn off after only about 6 months of use. The mouse still slides but my mouse (Razer Orochi) won't track on the worn part...anyone know of anything that'll fix this? Clear nail polish or anything like that?

I'm wondering if there is a way to keep track of the amount of data I'm using on my computer, since I just switched from unlimited internet to a data cap. I don't have the slightest clue where to start...
