I want to take a bunch of screenshots on my Android phone but I want all the screenshots to display the same time in the header. Instead of having to go into date and time settings every time the time changes I would prefer if there was a way to install an app that in a way, "freezes" the time on the phone so that it never changes, or maybe just have it listen to the time and every time it changes, change it back to the time desired. I know this may sound like a stupid idea, but I would really like to know if any resident developers here think it's possible to do, especially given the many added APIs for lollipop. Thanks.

Source It's official, Comcast is giving up on the TWC merger. For now, at least. Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts stated: Things were not looking good for Comcast due to all the opposition they faced so they decided to back out. As Marta Tellado, CEO of Consumer Reports said: This is great news and another great achievement in the battle for net neutrality. Our complaints have been heard!

In case there was every any doubt as to the amount of income cable companies pull in, take a read at this article and be amazed at TWCs incomes and how they overcharge and try and charge for as many things as humanly possible. Its just amusing that they cry about how much building out their network would cost, yet their financials tell the whole market that they could easily afford it with how they charge their existing consumers (not to mention the tax breaks and incentives they get from the governments to build out infrastructure) Ugh. ISPs are depressing. Take a read through the article as it has more information if you're curious about the numbers themselves and where they came from. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bruce-kushnick/time-warner-cables-97-pro_b_6591916.html

So, I have been having this issue with my computer for a while now. Elements on screen start to break and the clock stops keeping time. I have atached a picture of what it looks like. This has been happening pretty much since I built the computer. I have replaced the graphics card and reformatted windows multiple times. I am not running any overclock or over volt on any components. It sometimes effects more than just the task bar, but that's what I have a picture of. Should probably tell people what components I have... i5 4670k 16Gb Dominator Samsung 840 GTX 980 SC EVGA Corsair 860i Asus Maximus 6 Gene The Image is really wide, I have 3 monitors.

I got an email today from Pebble via kickstarter saying that tomorrow morning they will be revealing something else about the new Pebble Time. So I went to the website and looked at the picture of the pebble time that said 13 ours to, I waited a few minutes until the next hour and it changed to 12, so another countdown. Here is what they said in the email: "We told you we had a few surprises in store, and boy do we have something special for you coming this Tuesday at 8 AM EST! We’re super excited, but for now here’s one little hint: There’s something in it for everyone. A little reveal that will make your Pebble Time experience even better. And who knows, maybe we won't stop there?" What do you think the reveal will be???

Hi, I have in my daily driver Laptop a 240gb OCZ vertex 3. It has about 11,000 operating hours and just under 19 TB of life time writes. The drive is perfectly healthy according to smart. Hearing that ssd's can die rather unexpectedly, when should i replace this ssd? I would prefer not to have any down time on my daily use laptop. Its much faster just to clone an ssd than to download off the home server remotely, Im at uni.

Pebble Time Review Couple of weeks ago I received my Pebble time. While the shipping process was relatively painless it how ever was not cheap. To give context this is my first smartwatch that I have ever used. None of the other smartwatches in the market didn't really excite me because all of them lacked in one major aspect. either its the battery life or performance or design. For me the most important thing a smartwatch should excel at is delivering the notifications and messages from my phone to my wrist. And just like the original pebble and the pebble steel, pebble time does this extraordinarily. Just having the option to glance at a notification and deciding to dismiss it or react to it on the watch itself or to pull out the phone is such a paradigm shift that I never thought I would enjoy that much. Speaking of watches, how good is it at showing the time?. If you never connected the pebble time to a phone and just have it on your wrist it would function admirably as a regular watch. With the pebble times color E-paper display you can always see the time without having to do any flicking motion or pressing buttons. Where most other smartwatch screens fail when there is an abundance of ambient light, Pebble time screen shines during the day time. Literally. The light reflects off of the E-paper display and shows you the information. but not to worry there is a backlight that comes on when you press any button that can also be set to turn on with motion. although I have that feature turned off. While the screen is very good at displaying what ever its supposed to, How good it looks is somewhat debatable. Here is what i think.because of its low contrast and probably low refresh rate it's not good for displaying pictures or watching videos. That is certain. But for what the color e-paper display is used, I think it's perfect for this use case. Where most people would knock some points off for a lackluster display I applaude Pebble for making a conscious decision to go with a E-paper display rather than a OLED hence not compromising on one of the best things about this smart watch. its battery life. Since I have been using the Pebble time I have realised that it has been designed from the ground up to be the best in class when it comes to its fuel economy. Technical specs aside Pebble Time lasts for just over seven days for me. I’m not the person that gets hundreds of notifications a day, but from my experiance with it I can tell that it should last for at least four days for the most heavy user. That is double the time that you can get from a android wear smartwatch at best. That’s impressive. So what can you do with seven days for battery life on the Pebble time? Time smartwatch sports the latest operating system that uses the all new “Timeline UI”. Essentially it will show you agenda in three categories namely Past activities, Present, and Future. Using the Up and Down you can see the past and Future respectively. For me calendar appointments showed up on the timeline and that was all I needed. Im sure there are many more apps you can get that hooks in to this function. When a notification or a text message is received to the pebble time, you are greeted with the usual set of options to interact with it. For example it gives you the option to reply to a text message with a preset message or with voice. which i will talk about soon. For IMs like Facebook messenger you also get to “LIKE” that message. Oh and it can also reply with emojis as well. This also brings up a gripe that i have with the notification system on both the pebble side and android in general. there is no way to get back to notifications that you have dismissed. Also once a notification is dismissed on the phone the pebble time has no way of knowing that it has happened so it continues to display it and gives the user to interact with it that eventually leads to a fail. I wish someone would find the solution for this already. As I mentioned earlier pebble time has a built in mic that allows you to dictate replies for text and IMs. If you have ever used s-voice and thought that it's worse that crap, fear not its actually good. while i'm not sure what kind of a back end service it uses to do the voice recognition I know that it works surprisingly good. It was able to consistently and accurately pickup my words even in a noisy environment. I think it speaks to the quality of the mic and the voice recognition service that pebble is using. Though keep in mind that just like Google now Voice will not work without a live internet connection to your phone. All is well up till now, but there are some shortcomings to this well rounded smartwatch that I have to talk about. For starters the built quality is between the original pebble and the pebble steel. which is to say that it was a lot better than i thought it would be knowing that it was not a steel version. But the buttons was a big disappointment for me. Button placement did bother me at all. It was the tactile response or the lack thereof. the only worse buttons that I have used is on my nexus 7 2013 tablet. Also I wish there was a way to feel which button I was about to press with a small bump on the middle button. I can't believe they missed that. This pissed me off a lot. The plastic/rubber coating on the metal bezel seems to easily scratched off. I had a huge gash at the end of the first day. and after that I gave up hope on trying to keep it unscratched. But there are some good news. The Glass screen is holding up very well despite me bumping it on to metal surfaces quite a few time. Since I have been using this product I have been asking myself “who is this for?’. Well I think there are two types of people that will be satisfied with this. People that want something that will last for days on battery and deliver notifications to their wrist without looking too bad. And then there's the iPhone users that don't want pay a the price of a decent Android phone to get a Apple Watch. I you are in one or both of those categories then the Pebble TIme is for you.

Is it a good time to buy parts for a build? I heard Intel's new Skylake line is coming, should I care enough for that?

Ok, so let me start by saying I am a complete noob to programming and coding; as in, probably only know basic html but regardless I was wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction for an idea I have in mind. (Please refrain from commenting if you are not going to provide useful suggestions on the topic) I want to make a simplistic calculator that can determine the duration between two times precise to the millisecond. All the ones I have seen online include a date option (input days, months and years) which I absolutely do not need at all. I simply want to determine the duration of time (in milliseconds or seconds) between timecodes on a video. What kind of coding would I need to verse myself in to partake on this project? Secondly, what would I do to have the calculator account for the circular hexa-base type numbering of time (up to 60 rather than 100)? And finally, would I be able to take the code of a basic calculator and alter it so it works for time (this would be preferred)? Please point me in the right direction for how to begin. Also if any online options of this kind of thing exist (or even any programs) please feel-free to link them below so I can use them in the meantime. Thanks in advance!

The final computer build I want to build will be: Here is the link to the end goal build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/Nx6QMp The storage is a 250gb ssd samsung At the moment I'm only going to have one GPU. I just added to the second to calculate the watt usage. The motherboard is the main problem as the current one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00F5R9O46/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=20ZSRNBNCUIB8&coliid=I1OFSWAXZU5413#productDetails), but the main problem is I want to know if it's overpriced and would getting something like this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AQ9CF8K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=20ZSRNBNCUIB8&coliid=I1M93UODG493B9#productDetails ) would provide all of the same features but at a lower price. Overall, I would want a motherboard that has all of the features that I need it to have and to be reliable, but a cheap price would be optimum. The computer build is just going be some gaming, as I need an improvement from my old Xbox 360, but I want something that I can upgrade over time, so it doesn't become so outdated. Thanks

I have just recently noticed this issue with my computer that i have been using for over a year now with no issues. Whenever I shutdown my computer, the monitor display shows the usual windows shutdown stuff, and then turns off. At this point is where NORMALLY everything has stopped, fans stop spinning, the hard drive and power led dim, etc, However, my tower continues to run for about 4 more minutes and then shutdown. This issue shouldn't be caused by any malware or virus because i just recently re-installed windows 8.1. I do recall that this occurred only after I had my Graphics card upgraded. I use to have a Geforce GTX 650ti, and now i have upgraded to a Geforce GTX 780 (Asus Direct CU II variant). My boot times are fine, normal like how it was. Its only the shutdown process that takes a considerable amount of time to complete, and the strangest thing is that my monitor closes down at the normal time, just that my computer tower continues to run... I have also used CHKDSK and so far my drives are healthy. Hi there, I need a monitor and I am struggling to choose one. I would like an IPS panel, no lower than 60Hz and a resolution of 1080p or maybe 1920x1200. Response time less than 5ms. Budget can maybe stretch to £200 (yes I'm British) which is around $315 It will be for gaming plus other tasks and will be in use often. I will be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks UPDATE: I bought the Dell Ultrasharp U2414h and I love it

Im looking for a good monitor or tv for a console (xbox one, go console lesser race! jk i have pc too but thts irrelevant) The console has limited specifications so i dont want to bother spending extra money on monitor features my xbox one cant take advantage of anyway (refresh rate cap?) Like in nicer asus and benq monitors. Anyway, im wondering whether i should take a pretty damn good temporary deal for a tv: Here Normally $430, currently $269.6969 Specs: 1080p 120hz 42inch 6ms response time Seems pretty nice to me, the price being the most appealing part, only unappealing part being slightly high response time. there are other monitors i can buy for about the same price like the benqs and asus' people love, but im not sure those exceptional features matter so much for a console (maybe they do, not sure) I sort of see it as: faster response time (1-2ms vs 6ms) VS Tv functionality, Bigger screen (advantage or naw?), sexy af Knowing that this is for a console, there may be nice cheaper monitors that still maximize optimization of the xbone for a better low price Maybe: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009483 or something like that... Anyway just wondering if anyone has opinions or advice on what they would do. Suggestions for best monitors for Xbox one, or whether or not you wud buy the TV instead. I have about 10ish hours to decide tho so this post pretty much only relevant until then.

help with some constructive criticism please, I'm trying to build a computer that's average for video editing (meaning fast rendering speeds and smooth to use while editing, but not for high end 3d projects and other complicated editing projects), good to great gaming, and of course high quality video watching (which I assume would be there if the first two categories are achieved). I've done some research and also checked page 5000 which is where I based some of my parts from. I just want to know if these parts are worth the money, or if there are other better or equally good parts that are cheaper. Lastly of course I want to know if these parts would even be compatible, or fit with each other. The most I'm unsure of is the case and the size of the graphics card (if the graphics card will fit in with the case, since I've read on other forums that sometimes they don't and you just waste your money). CPU - AMD FX-8370E Eight-Core GPU - Sapphire R9-270X Dual-X OC 2GB DDR5 256bit Boost Full MOBO - am3+ Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 SSD - Crucial MX100 256gb sata RAM - Gskill Ripjaws X 16GB 8gbx2 DDR3 1866 CL10 PSU - Corsair CS650M 650W 80+ Gold Modular Power Supply CASE - NZXT Guardian 921 RB Black Steel If you'll see I only plan on having an SSD for now, any tips on what of HDD would be good for my purposes. EDIT: oh and of course I wouldn't want to bottleneck any of the components so if you guys have thoughts that one of these parts might pull the other down then please enlighten me. and another thing I wanted to add was that I plan on saving the graphics card for last, even though I did say I want this to be for good gaming also, I think I can live on a month or two with the IGPU if it means that I'll get to buy a GPU that's worth it

Hey guys I'd love to build my own custom 8 core PC for gaming. I'm a College student so I don't have loads of money however I'd say the most I'd spend is about £1000 ($1591.68) If I'd I need to spend a little more than the amount then I will haha. I was thinking about water cooling but I'm not sure tbh. I'm currently a Mac user (don't hate me lol I like Windows as well) so I've never really built my own PC before but I know since Linus has his tutorials that are simple on YouTube. This is going to be a AMD build since a 8 core CPU from AMD is like £125 and Intel 8 core CPU is like £1200. I'm thinking about using the NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case. I'm not sure what other components to use and I'd love to be able to run my game across 3 monitors. Could you please come up with the hardware that match my needs please? Thanks guys

My Pc takes around 30 seconds to boot. I have two ssd's, one with windows installed and the other with ubuntu and its grub. So my boot drive is the second. A normal boot time, I think, would be around 10-16 seconds, but 10 seconds is what it takes my motherboard to get to the Gigabyte Logo screen (incidentally I don't have a case speaker so I don't really know when it posts, the LED display is too fast). I disabled then the option of showing the gigabyte logo and enabled fast boot (not ultra fast, that gave me some trouble) but there was no luck. Any ideas nice gentlemen (and ladies)?

Hello everyone! So, today I plugged my old/school/not-gaming computer on (specs at end of page). I first was greeted with a message saying: "System battery voltage is low, press F1 to continue." This was now the third or fourth time, in the three or four times I have turned that computer on, in the last week. Before, I don't think this has happend. Then, after it had completely started up, I noticed I still hadn't plugged my ethernet cable in. Not too difficult. I then also noticed my time was NOT right, not at all. It said is was a quarter past midnight. It was half past five. Weird? Since I wanted to know what the time really was, I tried synchronising my time with the "internettimeserver" time.windows.com. Nope, it didn't let me do that. It said: (translated from Dutch) "An error has happened while trying to synchronise with time.windows.com." If that sounds weird (which it does), here is it in Dutch. "Er is een fout opgetreden bij een poging om een synchronisatie met time.windows.com uit te voeren." When I tried to go to YouTube, it said: "Your connection isn't private." "This is because the date of your computer isn't right." So, what is all this stuff about? Could someone maybe help me? Thanks for reading.

The disk usage is always 100% but when I go to safe mode, the speed is back to normal. I tried using system restore but it's stuck at iniatializing for 2 hours. Sometimes, it doesnt even boot and just get stuck at a black screen. What do I do?
