Hey all, I'm currently on the market for a new laptop and have landed on these three - the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin, the Aero 15X by Gigabyte, and the New Razer Blade 15. All 1080p 144hz at 15.6in, thin bezels, with GTX-1070 and i7-7700... My question is, which one should I take? As they are all extremely comparably in specs and build, I'm having trouble deciding. I am also open to any other suggestion of laptops (any price range, as long as decent battery life, high refresh rate 1080p screen, and capable of gaming). Harold

Can someone recommend me a laptop that has really good build quality and thinness with intel core i5 and 8 gb of ram that is under $1000? I found the Microsoft Surface laptop, but it is a bit pricey. I assume I will buy it if I dont find anything better.

Hey! I'm on the market for a new laptop to use aside from my desktop (a fairly capable one), I have around $1400 to spend and I don't mind buying used and/or refurbished laptops. I'm looking for something with an i7 7th gen or better, 1050Ti or better and just good overall quality, don't really care about design or colors or size (as long as it's not a 17" monster) nor brand. There are a lot of options out there and I just don't know if I'm missing any of 'em and I know for sure you guys may know 1 or 2 options that I could consider! -
Hey everyone, I'm currently interested in researching i7-8809G or i7-8705G laptops as I've seen a Hades Canyon NUC videos that got me interested. If anyone can tip me off on laptops that use either of the two processors, preferably thin and light (but anything is welcome), that'd be great! I'd really like to get a laptop that has the gaming performance I want in a thin and light chassis, and the option right now is for me to get the new XPS13, external GPU enclosure, and take the 980ti out of my system and plop it in. That way I don't have to cannibalize my desktop and spend $300-500 on an enclosure. Thanks for your help -
Hey everyone, I'm currently in the market looking for a new laptop as my old one has died. I was using an MSI GS60 GhostPro until now. In the same vein as the old one, I am looking for a thin gaming laptop, whose primary use will be for casual and professional usage (in university and for normal productivity tasks). Ideally, I would like for it to have a reasonable battery as my old laptop would die after a mere couple of hours of usage in class. I was thinking of maybe getting the Razer Blade Pro, but realized it has a quite a bit of competition this year. Any suggestions? My budget is fairly healthy and I should be able to afford any suggestion of thin gaming laptops currently on the market. Thanks all, Harold -

Hello everyone, I'm looking for some recommendations for a laptop for school and light to medium gaming. For reference, I currently have: Asus S46C https://www.asus.com/Laptops/S46CM/ i5 3337U 14.0" 1366x768 resolution GT740M 1TB 2.5" SSHD (upgraded from 5400rpm HDD) (Dead) 24GB half size mSata SSD Cache I'm looking for one that's thin(ish, around the same size and build as my old laptop), light(ish, around 2kg), relatively powerful, and reasonably priced. Now, I know that "the perfect laptop" proooobably doesn't exist, and I'm aware of that "Powerful/Thin and light/Affordable, choose two" triangle, but I am willing to compromise a little bit on each category, but I do hope someone here might know of a laptop, now or being released in the near future, that can tick all of the boxes. In a perfect world, my ideal laptop would have: thin bezels, 14-15" 1080p 100+Hz panel, GTX1050 or better, weigh 1.5-2.5kg, low-key aesthetics, 2.5" drive bay and m.2 slot, battery life >4 hours, and under $1600 Canadian Pesos. Refresh rate is one of those that I know I probably wont find on a non-gaming laptop, but it's worth mentioning. And, of course, price is the one that's the least plausible if I'm to get "the perfect laptop," so I'm willing to, and will probably have to, go above my budget. I've already looked at a couple potential candidates, but they all have some quirks (mostly pricing) that make me hesitate a little: Asus ZenBook UX550VE (too expensive) Dell XPS 15 (too expensive) Razer Blade (heard horror stories about its reliability, and too expensive) MSI Stealth Pro (heat and battery life) GIGABYTE Aero 15 (too expensive) Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro (Chinese OS that I have to reinstall, weak GPU, import/shipping and handling) Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop (bit heavy) Sager NP6850 (bit thicker than I'd like) Custom Laptops (few sites that sell in Canadian Pesos, also expensive, in part due to Canadian Pesos) As of now, I'm leaning mostly toward the Stealth Pro and possibly the Mi Gaming Laptop once its released and reviews are out. Possibly the Zenbook or XPS 15 if there's a steep enough sale. I'm starting in September, so any releases between now and then can be considered. I'm aware that the likelihood of a laptop that completely fits the bill is around 0%, so any additional feedback and suggestions for (or against) the ones I listed above will also be greatly appreciated. Also worth noting is that I'm also considering the Eve V instead of a laptop, or a completely thin and light, non-gaming-able laptop, since, you know, school. But I crave the sweet, sweet allure that is my Steam library. Edit: Recently released is the MSI GS65, which comes about as close to my preferred specs as possible; thin bezels, thin and light, "stealthy" design, 144Hz panel, etc, with only battery life and price being the main concerns. I'll try not to bump this post too much, if at all, but I'll keep an eye out on any upcoming releases that might be a little more affordable, such as a 1050Ti or 1050 version of the GS65. -
Hi everybody and sorry for my bad English.I've just sell my Alienware 15 R3 to buy a new gaming laptop, 8th Gen, with full GTX 1070, and I've done some research between Asus, Alienware, MSI, and in conclusion I hesitate a lot between these models (battery life isn't an issue for me, and I will carry my laptop everyday in a backpack to school from my house) :- ASUS ROG Zephyrus M GM501GS- ASUS ROG Strix GL703GS SCAR (does it exist in 15" ?)- MSI GS73/GS63 8RF (Max-Q or Full ?)- MSI GS65 8RF (Too expensive for only 256/512GB storage?)I came here to hear your advices and critics about these laptops, and what models would you choose ? Thermals are good on these laptops ? Because my AW had horrible thermal issues (99°C in game) and that matter a lot for me because I hate throttling when gaming (not just me I assume).Last thing : I can do a Liquid Metal Repaste but I heard that will affect the guarantee on Asus Models (and it's not good when you move your laptop in a backpack ???)Thanks in advance ! PS: just heard about Mechrevo V2, but not sure how I can buy it in EU.

Hi,im searching for a laptop. Im currently a college student in need of a laptop and i have a few criterias hopefully you guys may help me with.im.searching for a laptop which is relatively thin and light but has a relatively long lasting battery(because i usually spend alot of time on campus and dont want to haul a bulky ass charger). I also need a laptop which has a pretty good screen.(but then again,my current laptop has a TN panel for a screen so it aint so hard to one up.) And i also need it to be relativly small.maybe 11-13 inch screen as its gonna be a pain in the ass to haul a 14-15 inch laptop. And i also need it to be relatively cheap as am very broke student living of ramen.maybe one which is below $700ish.the budget may fluctuate though. i know its sounds like the worlds most specific laptop but hopefully someone here can help out. Oh,and there is the regional issue.im studying in australia so hopefully you guys can reccomend a laptop widely available.

Hey! Starting college next year and I'm looking for a good laptop, I'm willing to spend around $1200 but I can go up to around $1500 if needed. I'm looking for something thin and light, majoring in computer science so I don't need anything to hefty. Hi everyone, I am a student in UK and deciding to get myself a new laptop for school and gaming as well. I prefer a thin and a powerful gaming laptop, but my budget for it is quite limited at around £1500 plus minus. I am currently looked at MSI GS63VR 4K Edition at around £1650 but would prefer to see any other suggestions. Im looking for specs like 15.6 inch size Intel i7 8GB Ram (Prefer 16GB) 256GB SSD + Normal hard drive GTX 1060 Thanks alot.

Hi, I'm just looking for recommendations for a new laptop. I'm looking for something that has: A good battery life (can go all day with light use) 13 inch screen (really just less than 15) Light, easy to carry Enough RAM and good enough CPU to handle light games like don't starve or minecraft Doesn't need to handle heavy gaming SSD Budget is around $1000 I've also got another related thing I'd love advice on. I've got a couple monitors I use with my desktop computer currently, but what I would love is to get a dock that lets me plug a (hopefully single) cable into my computer and have charging and have it connect to two monitors. Any recommendations for a dock/dongle that could handle this and laptops that would be able to support this? Just 1080p monitors btw. Thanks for any help!

Hey, So I'm planning to buy a new Laptop which I will be using for University and for gaming at home, on a 4k display, and on the go. The many difficulty in my case is that i will need a very good performing laptop, not only for gaming at home but also at my families holiday house. I also wanna have a thin and light laptop which i can carry to University everyday, because I don't really like switching deviceses all the time and I'm often working on Projects including 3D-Applications, on the go. So I started looking and found some Laptops like the Dell XPS 15, Msi Gs 60& 63. But I have some questioons to all of those laptops which haven't been covered in any review. 1. Does any one know if the Msi laptops support something like the Razer Core (which is hopefully awaylable sonn in europe to)? 2. Do you aviod the warrenty of an Msi laptop if you upgrade the M.2-SSD? 3. Does any one know if there is any possibility that the Xps 15 will launch with a gtx 10-Series graphics cardin the next view months? 4. Has anyone longterm experience with any of this devices in an somehow simular usecase? 5. Is there any other laptop which you would recommend to me, which is awaylable in europe? 6 Or would you consider it a better Idea to buy a laptop thats around 1000€/$ that supports a external gpu? thanks for your help

ok so right now i have a msi gs70 stealth pro, this is my ONLY pc atm... working on an x99 as soon as i finish the case mods. anyways... with the release of the new msi laptops with the 1060s in replacment of the 970m, trying to find out just how much better the 1060 laptop edition, is then the 970m 6gb edition. i already have a buyer for the laptop i have now if i decide to upgrade.

I'm looking for a new laptop - the only things it will be used for are web browsing and Microsoft office applications. When i say 'cheapest and thinnest' - I'm on a budget, but am looking for something lightweight with reasonable battery life. To be honest - anything better than my current Dell Latitude E6520. It's super powerful with an i7 and dedicated graphics - but it's getting quite old now and the battery only lasts 30 minutes (I replaced it recently too) As I said - specs can be as shoddy as u like (Although an ssd would be great). I'm just looking for something small, portable and non-annoying. Needs windows tho Thanks guys

I'm looking for a laptop for college to replace my Dell inspiron 7348. I only need it for media consumption and coding. The Dell is by no means lacking in terms of my needs but i've broken glass screens on this and an asus at school, both now repaired, making me nervous to carry one around. The Dell will go to a younger sibling since they also need one for college. Requirements: -No touch/glass screen -Screen sizes 14.5'' and below -Sturdy design -Hopefully, around or below an inch in thickness -Upgradable to an ssd (I can look this up myself) -Keep the price below $600 USD -Am fine with refurbished There is a lenovo ideapad 500s that pretty much meets everything for $560 on amazon, but i'm unsure about the sturdyness. However, this is the laptop I am considering the most. Other options in consideration are a refurbished macbook air (that i need to find with at least 256GB memory, and will probably install windows on) or a refurbished X1 carbon (also don't know about the sturdyness of these either). Any suggestions are welcome

Did some googling but can't seem to find a good match for what I want, turning to teh forums for help! Haven't decide on budget, but should not exceed 1200 USD What I'm looking for: 1) a good CPU, the edgiest mainstream intel processors 2) not demanding much in the GPU department, will even consider intel integrated graphix but prefer a discreet GPU. 3) enough PCIe lanes for those sweet nvme ssds 4) lightweight, gotta carry it around often don't know much about pre-built systems or laptops,will appreciate if anyone can suggest something EDIT: btw, going to use it to do school works and play some games. Games like cities skylines, EUIV, dota, none of those AAA graphic monsters. EDIT 2: also, the design must be either plain or otherwise non-gamey-looking. Elaborate designs on most gaming laptops are ridiculous looking and not great to carry around in between classes

I'm interested in doing 3-way portrait mode in the future but I have found some issues with most monitors sporting thin bezels. This: See what is in between the Red bars, it's the Logo and a super thick bar making this otherwise pretty thin bezel monitor, Not Portrait ready. I would like help finding a monitor that has: Very Thin bezels on every side (left and right not much of an issue) 1080p/1440p (if cheap) 24" (or more if found for cheap.) IPS Be affordable. I'll preface this by saying I'm from Australia and would prefer Australian sites. I'm looking for a new laptop that i'll be buying in the next few months. I've been looking at the GS70 from MSI as it's super thin/light weight, I want to keep the laptop close to these factors 418.5x287x21.8mm (LxWxH) and 2.66kgs i7 6700 HQ GTX970M I've been out of the laptop game for a while so I'm not sure what sites to buy the laptop from? it seems Logical Blue One closed down and that's where I bought my first laptop a long time ago. Everywhere else (MLN/PCCaseGear/etc.) are all the stock standard GS70. I looked at iBuyPower and I'm able to get (including GST and Import fees) the GS70 with 16gig of RAM and a 256gb M.2 ssd and a 512gb SSD all for about the same price as it is here (Around $2600) it also includes some nice bonuses. (Backpack/mouse etc. ) Is there any site in Australia that can let me customize it a bit? (Mostly just the ram, yeah I know I can just add it myself, and the hard drives) or any other laptop I should look at ? I checked metabox, but their laptops are rather bulky/heavy I've checked out Affordable Laptops, but wondering if there's anything else out there. I'm pretty set on the GS70 as it's super light weight and thin, and it's a 17" screen (Minimum for me)

I am a college student, and I work during the summers. I currently have a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 that I adore and I love Thinkpads. However, I am unable to carry it, my books, notebooks, etc. due to thickness and added weight (I am an Eagle (not bragging) so I am use to heavy backpacks but It gets tiresome for 8-9 months out of the year). I don't have the space, there for I have been really eyeing a Macbook Air, but I have also had my eye on a Macbook Pro. What do yall think, Air or Pro. It will be used strictly and taken to school for papers, PP slides, internet browsing, and taking lots of notes. Everything else is used on my T510 at home. Let me know what you think and I will save up. I will be buying refurbished/used A/B+ condition. Where have you purchased a mac used and had good experience? Also, what book bag would you recommend that can hold tons of stuff that is waterproof or has a rain fly added on? I could always use a trash bag too!
