psu suggestions Need experienced suggestion for a new PSU
CatAssTrophic posted a topic in Power Supplies
Hi there, This is my first ever post here. I badly need you guys' help. I am from Bangladesh and right now there is a serious PSU shortage going on here. A few months back I had to send back my Thermaltake Smart BX1 RGB 550W as it was showing some problems since I bought it (Even though I don't like Thermaltake PSUs I had no other options then) now I am running a Corsair CX PSU (lent by my local PC parts vendor) for a few months and he finally managed a few PSUs (Added an Image of all the available ones) and I am not sure which one to get. He said I might need to wait another one or two months to get Corsair or Antec PSUs .. so I was hoping if you guys could suggest me which one should I buy or should I wait for Corsair or Antec. Do you think either of the 750W PSUs in the image are reliable enough? I don't need RGB I just need reliability. I have lost all my confidence on Thermaltake and on one review I found the Capacitors in the CoolerMaster ones are low quality and I was waiting for either one of the three among Corsair CX750, RM750 or Antec NeoECO Gold Zen 700W. Please advise me .. do I wait for the ones I mentioned or do you recommend any one of the four 750W ones from the Image? Thanks... :)- 3 replies

I decided to post pictures of the cabling setup maybe to help somebody else out because the manual was so dreadfully terrible. Does anybody know if this controller works with my fans as well? Do I need a conversion cable?

Hello guys I had I THERMALTAKE SMART RGB 500W psu and it started making noises after 10 months so I sent it to rma in the main time I'm looking for a new one and in my country we have bad manufacturers ( NO CORSAIR / NO EVGA .... ) The only choice I have is COOLER MASTER 650W BRONZE V2 or FSP HYPER M85 + 550W BRONZE I planing to buy theCoolet Mastet one because some guys told me the fsp one is known for coil whine but I saw reports that's the CM one fails a lot after a while of using but these reports were about the V1 version so am I good to go with the V2 ? or should I stay with thermaltake replacement ? note : there is thermaltake thoughpower DPS G gold and thermaltake smart pro rgb( à lil bit expensive but maybe if I stick with my old thermaltake I can save money for it ? ) So what should I do : => Cooler master MWE bronze v2? => Stay with the replacement until I save for the thermaltake thoughpower DPS G Gold or thermaltake smart pro rgb ? Thermaltake View 31 TG's Headphone & Microphone ports are not working after 2months of its built... It was a brand new Chassis... Both ports were working well... Suddenly I am having issues... The Microphone port records some noise instead of my voice... The Headphone port provides less than 50% volume as output... Headphone & Microphone ports of motherboard are working well.. Though here is running lockdown, there is no way to repair it from shop... Does anyone have any idea about these issues and its solution? Please let me know... Thanks in advance. audioclip-1582301411000-12608.mp3

I did a massive update to my computer a while back, it went from a buffed Dell Optiplex to a relatively-possible-to-go-pro kit complete with all the glowy colors and rgb necessary to impress your 4 year old younger brother. Anyhow, I have a MPG Z390 Gaming plus MOBO and a Thermaltake cpu fan. The fan on lights up one setting, but I want to control it how you're supposed to be able to. There are 2 cords that come out of it and one of which I cannot identify at all, nor can I look up one of the symbols because I have no idea what it is. I will drop a picture below, can you tell me what this cord does and what it plugs into?

Hey guys, I'm looking for suggestions for a liquid cooling system that works with The tower 900. One that is not overly complex or flashy (I don't think I'm ready for those big tanks) I'm completely new to building computers, and just recently picked up the The Tower 900 and all needed parts(Intel not AMD) that were recommended by a friend. However it appears that the Liquid cooling system I bought is incompatible ( it was a Corsair H115i Platinum) the way the case is designed had the LCS`s tubes too short and did not connect to the side classes well either (although like I said I am new at this). I did like the look of the corsair and would have loved it if I got it to work. So any suggestions that would be along that line but compatable would be great!

Hey guys, new to computer building and just got the Tower 900. Having trouble finding a AIO liquid cooling system the will work with it. I mistakenly bought the corsair h115i but I can't seem to get it to fit (turns out parts picker says its not compatible) I do like the look/ bells and whistles of the corsair but can't seem to make it work so I was hoping for suggestions for a diffrent compatable one, or someone who has experience with hooking up a AIO LCS in a thermaltake that could tell me if I'm wrong and the h115i can work and I'm just not looking at it right. My friend had bought a set of Thermaltake Pure 12 Radiator Fans (premium edition) and gave up on installing them less than a year ago. I had just recently built a PC and he had the kindness to give me his unused fans. The fans function fine, but I am unable to use the RGB function as the ARGB controller was missing upon his opening of the box. This was partially why he had given up on this as he did not have the patience to deal with the customer service. Has anyone had any experience with Thermaltake's policy regarding such matters? I'm willing to shell out a few dollars for the missing part. I can't contact Thermaltake via their number right now. The call is answered with a voice that says Thermaltake is not open at this hour, and directly contradicts the schedule it is claiming that Thermaltake operates in (likely COVID-19 related).

Thermaltake S100 simple case mod So as a disclaimer right up front, i'm not a professional when it comes to PC case modding etc. but i recently really enjoy doing it and finding solutions for making things a bit more unique. with that said the mod i came up with here is rather simple and was born out of the need to repurpose the Thermatake S100 wich is actually meant to be used as an led/rgb cover for your RAM slots. the need to repurpose it came up because i didn't really account for how massive my Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 CPU cooler actually is and how much Space it takes up over the RAM slots before ordering the S100 (stoopid me) My curret case is the Be Quiet Silent Base 801 which has great base functionality and a design i love so i'm planning on further modding it in the future. Thermaltake S100 on Amazon Step #1: removing the the original "calmping/mounting" mechanism with a pair of side cutters which was fairly simple because the plastic is quite soft so there is not much force required to remove it. Step #2: removing the 4 screws on the back of the S100 and opening it up because i was going to mount it to the the HDD Slot covers that come included with my Be Quiet SB801. Step #3: lining up the backplate of the S100 to the position on the front of the HDD slot cover i wanted it to be in and using a very small screwdriver to poke through the scerwholes in the backplate to get the correct position for drilling the mounting wholes in the HDD cover. i ended up only doing 2 wholes to help with alingment because i was going to hot glue it on there anyway. Step #4: drilling the wholes for the tiny screws from the backplate of the S100 and screwing them in, to help with aligning everything. then i applied a fair amount of hot glue to the backplate of the S100 and carefully putting the HDD slot cover on top while evenly applying a good amount fo pressure for about 20 seconds so the hot glue had time to dry. and that is about it, i didnt' really aim for perfection here. you could go ahead an sand the edges of the cut off parts to make it more smooth but the thing is that you can't really see them when everything is mounted inside the case later on so i didn't really care about it that much. Here are some pics of the finished product! (i ended up making a second one because really liked the look and wanted to have a second one in my case) Step #5: finishing everything up by reinstalling the HDD covers to my case and doing some cable management. So thats it! i really like the look and making this little mod. hope you guys like it too and maybe it inspires you to repurpose something like i did. I'm really looking forward to making more case mods in the future. Let me know what you think! Cheers

I'm going to be replacing my ageing gaming PC later this year once Ampere GPUs and Ryzen 4000 desktop have both hit, and I'm starting now to look at what kind of case I'd like to get for it. I'm very much a fan of compact builds and so have been looking at mATX cases, and 2 cases in particular that appeal to me a lot are the Corsair Crystal 280x and the Thermaltake Level 20 VT. Both are dual-chamber cube cases that look very smart and clean IMO, but after reading reviews for them both some reviewers (but not all, interestingly) have noted that temperatures inside these 2 cases are just slightly worse than similar cases. Obviously they both have a small gap between the glass panels and the metal frame to allow better ventilation, but is the potential thermal hit anything I should be especially concerned about? My research and general PC knowledge tells me that an extra couple of degrees is virtually harmless but I'd be interested to get some more input about the topic, particularly if anyone here owns one of these cases or a similar case with tempered glass panels. Did you notice that stuff was running slightly hotter than expected? Or not? I should mention that I won't be doing any CPU overclocking, and if the details we have about Ampere are accurate it looks like Nvidia's next slew of GPUs will be quite power-efficient and therefore cool too, so I shouldn't have any parts that run particularly hot anyway. Thanks!

So I bought a thermaltake P3 some time ago, and it came with a dead Riser cable. I had read around that it was rather common and that TT were sending out free replacements. True to their word I got in touch with thermal take Australia and after providing them with the Serial number, They sent me a replacement with overnight Delivery and that cable has worked fine. However just a few minutes ago, I restarted to install Hyper-V to mess around with it and it wouldnt post. After a few retries and eventually reseating the riser cable it works. I personally have had enough issues with thermal take and I am really not wanting to spend $85 AUD on one of their "Premium" Cables. $85 is expensive. So do any other brands have cheaper, more reliable cables? That are black, none of the 2002 beige looking ones. Please and thank you

i am considering getting a thermaltake core v71 case due to the airflow capabilities it has. no my question is a 2 parter. 1st question. will inverting the motherboard allow for better air cooling of the GPU? 2nd question. can i move the motherboard tray in the core v71 to allow for the inverted setup? core V71 : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133244

Hi Guys, My name is Shane and I am a first time poster, new to the forum and wanted to start a work log on my upcoming build in Thermaltakes Core P5. Its around 3am here and I have been drawing up some draft sketches and non scale drawings on my graph pad to render some ideas for how this things will go together. Concept: Create an infinity effect as the back plate of the Core P5, but not just the surrounds but accent each component with its own infinity effect. System Specs; Thermaltake Core P5ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 K6 GamingIntel i7 6700KEVGA Geforce GTX 970 FTW+ ACX2.0Cougar GX800 PSUApacer 480GB M.2 Apacer 240GB SSD16GB T.FORCE DARK DDR4 3000mhzCustom Sleeved CablesFully Watercooled with Alphacool components. The idea will be to place a new back plate over the existing case, add in the infinity effect using mirrored acrylic and component platforms to accenting each component. I haven't decided if I want to use MDF or Ply Wood or rather a combination of both. Follow this post to stay up to date! You can see the photo of the effect below. Follow us on Facebook to check out any new and upcoming builds. * If you would like to jump on board with this build. It would definitely be appreciated. You can contact me below via email or facebook. Thanks Everyone, Shane Rayson @: shane@hextechmods.com W: www.facebook.com/hextechmods

Dear forum, it is my first entry here, so please dont blame me for any mistakes i make So, first of all, i own an NZXT S340 and i am planning to use the riing RGB fans as an intake. I am looking at buying the 3-pack, because then i could mount two as an intake and i would have one spare fan left. So, if i want to put it on my CPU-heatsink, i would have to connect it to the splitter that is included, but then i couldnt control my CPU-fan individually, but if i connected it to the MB, i could change the speed without a problem, but how would the lighting react? Would there even be any light? I really dont wanna buy 3 individual fans / 3 pack +1 fan because it would be 20€ more expensive just to have one more small controller... Thanks for any help! Have a nice day ~ CheeZe

I just bought the Thermaltake Versa n26 case for my next build. I have selected an ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero motherboard and 7600K intel cpu. I haven't decided about the graphics card, sometimes ill buy super low end just to power up the pc and then upgrade to a good one. But will this case support modern graphics cards and are there any SSD slots? Ps: Im not into SLI or Crossfire anytime soon.

Hello. As the title says, I am wondering what case is the better option. The F31 has a solid front panel and the X31 has a mesh front panel. What I am worried about is that the F31 front panel will have less airflow than the X31 and if it is noticeable. What do you think? Another concern is that in my country I can't purchase the F31 with a glass panel but I can purchase it seperately but it costs about 20 USD extra compared to the X31 with a glass panel. Thanks in advance for taking your time to answer my question and if I was unclear on anything please call me out.

I have been doing some research and I've narrowed my pump/reservoir decision down to two items. The thermaltake PR22-D5 and the ek EK-XRES 140. I have read as much good as bad about them both and would like to get some opinions from people who might be familiar with these two items. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xres-140-revo-d5-pwm-incl-sl-pump http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002705 And help would be greatly appreciated.

Case war? I don't know, what do you think? Both look nice for me, but the SPEC-Alpha has a very particular desing while the N25's one is more typical. Here are the links for you to check them out: http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/carbide-series-spec-alpha-mid-tower-gaming-case-black-red http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002891 P.S: I want to fit a Cooler Master Hyper 212 or similar into the case.

Hey guys! I'm back with another sponsored project! EVGA was generous enough (as always) to send me some of their awesome hardware. This is another EVGA and Thermaltake sponsored project, and I named it "HoloView". Thermaltake was kind enough to send me their View 27 chassis and some of their water cooling components. This will be a quick (hopefully) and simple project but will add a special feature to it (hopefully I could pull it off properly). A huge shout out to the sponsors! Here's some of the components that will go in to this project. Yesterday I was able to test fit some components and tear the View 27 down to confirm some measurements and some possible radiator placements. The plan was to rotate the computer case 90 degree so the front panel will be the bottom of the case and the top will be the front panel. Here was my plan, either I will have the 360mm radiator in front and have the 240mm radiator at the bottom or the opposite way around. Originally, I thought I could use the area below the power supply for mounting a 240mm radiator but the power supply that I will be using is a bit long and will have some interference once the power cables are connected. So instead of doing that, I will mount a 140mm fan below the power supply as intake. Now that I have a rough idea of where and what components for water cooling are going to fit in, next will be taking measurements for the custom side panel, cutting out the 140mm fan mount on the back and making the custom front panel for the 240mm radiator. But that will be for the next update. That's it for this first update for the HoloView project. Thank you EVGA and Thermaltake, as always, for giving another opportunity to me for this project! See you in the next one! Ciao!
