  1. Youtube is ending CC community contribution feature that lets youtube users to add subtitles as a community contributors to the videos, it will still be allowing original user to upload subtitles that they make, but will disable community uploading feature option by September 28th this year. Closed Caption community contribution is a feature if it's allowed by the uploader, there will be an option available for anyone with a youtube account to upload their own subtitles that they made using any software , for example like amara to create a sub file upload a .srt file to match with the video translation. the file will stay hidden until channel user approves it manually & later it goes live. if the feature is enabled, contributors can go to this menu in the subtitles option & upload a sub file manually picking whichever language they what it translated. This feature is an immensely helpful feature for people who have audience overseas with their first/mother language isn't English & the subtitles uploaded by their community from someone in that region becomes extremely helpful to the ordinary viewers who wants accurate translation provided by their community. Other main beneficiary to this feature was deaf people. although small fraction most of the User uploaded subtitles are far more accurate than the horrendous YouTube auto-generated subtitles that sometimes makes no sense. this on English, imagine it going through another filter to translate to another language.shit gets seriously complex. Obviously some of the users were infuriated & ranted on social media. Aaaaand theres already a change.org petition, why do people do that? like it makes any sort of difference? Anyways what do you guys think, post comments down below. i think it's a blunt short sighted move.theyve been making lots of unnecessary changes a lot lately, ever since that Tati & James charles drama leading upto the subcount rounding up & blocking soicial blade app from having data & changing comment section on mobiles etc.hopefully they wont go down the drain & into shit like those other online media platforms. does Linus use this feature in any of his channel contents? post down below. source: https://support.google.com/youtube/thread/61967856 https://www.theverge.com/2020/7/31/21349401/youtube-community-captions-deaf-creators-accessibility-google https://www.engadget.com/youtube-community-contributions-saying-goodbye-141205281.html
  2. DVD res is making a comeback yo! TLDR : YouTube streaming has surged due to people being under quarantine during this pandemic. Google is well equipped to handle YouTube streaming strain in the past, But the current problem is the consistency at which contents needs to be provided. For the first time ever Youtube is above Netflix ranking almost 2X the Volume in streaming data. To counter the global traffic Youtube is planning to reduce the default resolution to 480 to reduce the pressure on internet infrastructure globally. The resolution limit is set for a month (30 days) globally across all platform. 30 days limit is due to the expectation that the pandemic & associated quarantine will be under control by time. Most of the current generation isn't subscribed to cable like old gen folks glued to a TV , so naturally most of the internet platforms are being relied for daily entertainment. Plus Over 43% of the global internet is consumed by Netflix, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft & Apple collectively. In Europe, video providers including Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+, are also slashing streaming quality to avoid internet congestion. Read about it in a previous thread here made by Porina >> Anyways what do you think about it , Post your comments & thoughts down below. imo i think it's a decent move. i wouldn't say a good one since it's the year 2020 & we shouldn't be at a 480p dvd res as a default at this point. that's 2009 dvd era shit. atleast 720p should be a standard. especially when they know they can handle it globally, but 480p is just reducing it furthermore for that extra safe space that isn't essential. 3. 1 million Elon Musk san tweeted out the news that Tesla has Produced it's milestone 1,000,000'th electric car, 1 millionth car is a Model Y SUV Tesla's first electric car was an electric sports car called Roadster released back in 2008 & it sold around 2500 nos at that time. Tesla introduced a uniquely designed Truck last year which broke the pre-order record in 3 days after it's announcement with 200,000 confirmed orders. The electric car popularity is a good thing for the environment, the more users switching to this form of transportation will evidently reduce the harmful gas emission, although it might take time to reverse the effect a little bit at a time is good. even though there's a bit controversy surrounding the making & maintenance being criticized by some.Eitherways the more of these is a good thing. So what do you think about this milestone achievement? Post your thoughts down below. unrelated pic. plz ignore Source: Elon Musks Tweet(link at the beginning of the top) https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/tesla-just-built-its-one-millionth-car https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-elon-musk-1-million-evs-built/ https://mashable.com/article/tesla-one-million-cars/
  4. You almost did it, You crazy sons of bi*** TLDR: Wuhan,China has been the epicenter for the recent Virus outbreak COVID-19 & The region has been on lock-down since the terrifying outbreak , a good majority of people were put under forced quarantine, some videos from the region showing that government forces locking people inside & taking risky people out to be quarantined.Schools are suspended until further notice. With many workplaces also shut. in a nutshell , people were enforced under quarantine to isolate & decrease the spread of the virus which meant kids were at home, forced to work & study from home. this meant a hike in online tutoring for kids. one of the apps that has been used by schools towards assigning homework & other work related comms was developed from Alibaba group called the DingTalk, it's a telecommuting application which during Chinese new year became the most downloaded app on China’s app stores & raised in popularity. so people started using it widely for all forms of communication like other SM apps. it's an enterprise collaboration app that lets you have group audio/video/text interaction with a preset contacts. can be used for both personal & professional use. teachers were using this app to set kids time assigned homework online so they were working at home even under quarantine. it is reported that an estimate of 50 million students and 600,000 teachers use this app throughout China. the app uses clock in & clock out features, which uses time framed access from users like employees or students logging in & logging out for sessions at given hours, being counted as work. if allowed it uses facial recognition or fingerprint to confirm that a specific person is the one that's using it & the work is not being done by some other, it also is one of the first Chinese apps to have obtained the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard. Data are encrypted at SSL/TLS security standards. so a very secure app people trust . So the kids there who already pissed off with the chaos happening in the society thought about getting rid of the homework burden, Collectively the kids in the region came up with an ingenious plan & figured out if the app is downvoted & reviewed negatively in the App store in a massive collective manner , it will be put under suspension or be removed for review. thereby getting rid of the online tutoring for weeks. With viral speed, tens of thousands of schoolchildren reportedly began rating the DingTalk chat app with one-star reviews, knowing enough bad ratings would see it kicked off the App Store. The homework app's rating reportedly plummeted overnight from 4.9-stars to 1.4. but unluckily the app still held on without being removed. but the reviews got so bad developer had to to step in via social media to ask to stop what they were doing. app post begging for stars. ios appstore one star reviews. So what do you think about this? post your thoughts down below. i think it's somewhat brilliant co-ordination to get rid of a common problem. sources : https://www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v42/n05/wang-xiuying/the-word-from-wuhan https://www.bandt.com.au/wuhan-students-figure-out-ingenious-way-to-shut-homework-app/ https://bgr.com/2020/03/07/coronavirus-kids-app-wuhan-quarantine/ https://headtopics.com/uk/ingenious-kids-under-coronavirus-quarantine-manage-to-defeat-homework-11736207 https://fashionmodelsecret.com/world-news/ingenious-kids-under-coronavirus-quarantine-manage-to-defeat-homework/ https://mashable.com/article/wuhan-kids-app-coronavirus/ https://technode.com/2020/03/02/dingtalk-begs-for-stars-on-chinas-app-stores/
  5. Cyber Kerchow Tesla Cybertruck hasn't entered into mass production , But even with that The Pre-orders have gone through the roof despite low expectations(thanks to memes). The Truck Boasting exceptional safety features such as stainless steel body & Bulletproof glass, Hard rock Chassis, Tough thick wide tires. It's basically an armor vehicle compared to regular & Off-road cars or even some mean looking SUV's. But ironically the same thing that makes it tough is apparently being put under scrutiny by some Safety Officials & Authorities as a hindrance to safety, For both the driver & the pedestrians. One of the main safety concern is pedestrians being hit by the truck & as you can expect from a tough stainless steel body & that almost sharp front side is tuff as hell(HARSH FRONT according to a commentator), According to current safety standards this needs to be soft almost pliable & collapsible when encountering an accident in order to reduce & lessen the effect of force driven injury to the pedestrian. The prototype with sharp steel front would most probably chop whoever standing in front into 2 with a given velocity. High Velocity & sharp front end design & 300-series stainless steel alloys, it is a brutal combo. (i mean look at this beast) This is somewhat can be fixed with a collapsible grill or a designed fender at front & it should pass the safety regulation feature. Which is what we can expect if the Truck ever passes the regulatory authority. Another concern is the lack of side/rear view mirrors, Although Tesla takes advantage of Hidden cameras at the Fenders at front (possibly at the back as well) the safety regulations insist the car should be having a visible side view mirror panel attached to the body (hidden camera for auto piloting & rear view) Another Concern is the tough Body in itself , meaning the the exteriors & chassis & whatnot, You can make it rock solid for safety reasons , But when it comes to real world applications an impact at very high velocity means the mass impact energy will be transferred to the occupants inside since the body doesn't absorb the impact force by properly deforming & absorbing the energy Onto the Next main concern, The odd protruding wheels , Safety Experts suggest that this could cause issues & put cyclists along with other motorists & pedestrians in harms way, this is kind of an obvious oneas thre design do look kinda like a monster truck version, safety would suggest that the tires align with the body so that it would not protrude out to put others in harms way. Another low key concern is the bullet proof glass , in an emergency if the door is stuck & the glass has to be broken/shattered in-order to gain access to the inside would be an impossible task. on the flip side though Robbers love this safety feature. go figure. (unbreak muh glass hart) & Onto to the next Safety concern "the Headlights". Although this is one of the main design feature of the cybertruck & brings the whole cars design aspect into looking modern & futuristic. safety experts suggest that this spreads out & scatters light without focusing light on the road. although the test drives showed the truck performing well with the built in light illuminating the road. the proper safety feature suggests that a vehicles headlights be able to focus strong on to a particular distance & with a certain intensity, Meaning an addition of Headlight Cluster affixed to the front of the car. It's a Safety Hazard alright! Anyways all of this & and a bunch of other minor feature stuffs are being scrutinized like windshield wipers which were absent in the prototype, improper shape of the vehicle, side indicators not being wide enough or present, rear fenders needing to be modified , steering wheel in relation to odometer placement etc. autopilot concerns & others. Plus the monopoly against this as an electric equalizer from the Gas Gang & also from competition who dont want to lose money. everything is obstructing the progress of this being a reality in some specific countries. Despite the Odd informal shape & supposed street legality, the pre-orders were pretty good & is expected to have record breaking sales for an electric vehicle. imo i think there are legit concerns that can be fixed & there are obstructive form of petty stuffs that is just a pointless nuisance , but as far as i'm concerned the car only needs a collapsible extended front end bumper & a good wiper & it's ready for the road! 6. Now you can be ugly on the inside & on the outside. Last Year Microsoft produced a rare few set of sweater with the Windows 98 Theme & made only about 100 & delivered it to otheir close fans in the twitter circle, This year Microsoft made about 250 Sweaters & is on the process of doing a giveaway to those who follows their Windows twitter account like last year , but the number of sweaters have been doubled this year. 7. You will listen to this free U2 Album It is reported that during the software keynote at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, California next Monday, the tech giant is set to replace iTunes with different standalone version of music, television and podcast apps. replacing the almost 2 Decade old unifying app into 3 separate counterparts. Itunes was originally introduced in Jan. 9, 2001 . last update it received was at may 28 2019 just a few days back & that'll be the end of it, It's not planning to update the app according to the rumored news from Bloomberg. But no-one knows quite yet when it’ll put the service to bed permanently, presumably it’ll offer weeks or months for users to get their files in order before pulling the plug. The updated Music app will replace all music storage and organization functionality currently handled by iTunes. If you need to manage your iThings (local backups, OS updates, etc.), the Music app will take over there just as iTunes always has. users can expect the Music app to host many of iTunes’ audio features from now on. Apple already has dedicated apps for TV & Podcast being polished up for the event, with the introduction of the sleeker music app it will calling of the itunes app. Users can expect the new Music app to offer some of the same functionalities that iTunes currently does such as purchasing songs and syncing phones Music on mac OS retains the ability to sync a user’s devices such as iPhones and iPods. Devices show up in the sidebar just like they do on iTunes. The search bar has been moved to the sidebar, which integrates both Apple Music categories as well as the user’s local Music library, inherited from iTunes. This is the New Music App UI screenshot according to 9 to 5mac leaks Personally last time i used Itunes was way back when i got an ipod 3rd gen shuffle, the interface was pretty choppy back then i had no idea how to use it even after watching tutorials & kinda went with the flow & somehow added songs literally by luck. a stupid Chinese USB music player at that time had seriously better ease of use simple drag and drop interface which a few of my friends had. Maybe it would've changed later i could've gotten used to it but i dunno. And it looks like i'm not gonna.i used it rarely when i had the chance & whenever i was interacting with it i was confused creating playlist & having it organize files in my way. Anyways, So what do you guys think about this? Post your comments, rant, reaction down below. 8. The German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz) (try pronouncing that in your first try) have a comprehensive database on most of all mainstream smartphone on radiation emission data that are popularly available in the market , according to their research the data suggests that the popular Xiaomi & One plus & several others were found to have a high level of radiation emission from their products, Although to be clear there isn't an international set standard for a widely accepted an absolute "safe level", it is generally considered around 1.6 W/Kg of body weight for the majority as a unofficial safe standard, the companies usually huddle up around this value as a standard to pass certifications that clears them for sales. According to the sites data chart , the budget friendly flagship set of phones were caught up in their higher emission category, which was a surprising thing. Just to note , all smartphones have to pass certification , so it must come under a certain generic value of less than 1.6 W/Kg , to compare Apple usually have a SAR value of around 1.4W/kg under their headset emission standard for most of their product in general which is safe, reason i say this is because this is high but don't get misguided by the news title as dangerously high, like the old alcatel/Motorola days. it isn't that high, it is high, but under a "safe value" high in a way. if that makes sense . but still , look at the chart below & see the top 2 set having passed beyond that safe mark. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is a number that measures the rate at which energy is absorbed by the human body when exposed to radio waves. In mobile industry the specific absorption rate to measure the energy absorbed by a particular mass of human tissue(usually near head), within a certain amount of time. We measure SAR in units of power per mass (W/kg). An important note is that , SAR value differs region to region & accordance with the states/nations official set rule per country basis & manufacturers tune it accordingly to skip & ease out of it just to sell the product & have the product perform efficiently depending on region & signal availability, it's basically pretty volatile in terms of having a standard, since there is no strict universal set standard. this mean something & nothing at the same time, a single SAR value does not provide sufficient information about the amount of RF exposure under typical usage conditions to reliably compare individual cell phone models. Rather, the SAR values collected by the FCC are intended only to ensure that the cell phone does not exceed the FCC’s maximum permissible exposure levels even when operating in conditions which result in the device’s highest possible, i depends & varies according to situation. phones condition, signal range & strength , near tower emissions energy etc, a lot of things come to play to gauge it accurately . (demo video on how the SAR value is observed in the industry) ^^^ Radiation absorption across certain age group according to an old research , the difference is due to tissue condensation difference. (ignore the killer tag, it was the only stock pic i could find showing how radiation surrounds us) So the question , where's Samsung? did they deliberately omit them from the above list? Turns out they surprisingly had some of the lowest radiation emitting handsets available in the market right now , consider that , after exploding phones & what not , it was actually one of the safest in terms of radiation emission ,surprisingly well below the current standard kept by the industry. So what do you guys think about this? post your comments & thoughts down below, comment on whether you were surprised to see the results coming from the major retailer so high & so so low on the list, especially one plus.apple & Samsung having contrasting difference. 10. Rewind , aka f*ck go back! & counting You knew the thing was doomed when it intro ed from Will-Smith & transitioned to Fortnight. Imagine creating an "open" "free" content creation & distribution platform , push it to the top of the the most reliable service providers for ordinary folks for years & years & later one day you went on making an Original Content video on your own platform years later & then have it be the most disliked video ever on the same platform that you created. introducing Youtube Rewind 2018! scoring in a whopping 10 mill 11 mill+ dislikes in under 7 days off of it's release. The video racked up 120 million views as of now. The video got hit hard by viewers who dislike the video . to scale, Previous record holder , Justin Biebers "Baby" Music video took over 7 years to rack up close to this level of dislikes. Youtube rewind is an Annual video mashup from Youtube itself which celebrates the platforms best content creators & it's most prominent & pinnacle content creators, recapping that years best biggest & most notable contents , trends, music & others of that year , it's usually presented in style by that years most prominent content creators in the platform involves musical, skits, choreography & such to present that years highlights. However this time around , it had a minor set back as it was set to be the most popular by the content creators , but ironically ended up being the worst most disliked video on the parent platform itself , according to viewer ratings on dislike. it's currently the worlds most dislike Youtube Video. a record which was previously held by a Justin Bieber music video "Baby" #Surprise followed by Jake Paul's Music video "it's everyday bro". The Youtube rewind is produced by Youtube & portal A interactive, content each year is posted on it's original channel Youtube Spotlight , The original Youtube rewind was first released in the year 2010 , from then on each year Youtube has produced it's own versions of Rewind for those each corresponding year. racking up mixed reviews & reactions, it was popular at first . but started to decline in popularity as things got too obvious. but it was usually a mix of reactions , depending on the quality of the content they put out. up until now 2017 video was the most disliked with 2 mil down-votes & also the most liked video with 3.9 mill upvotes , but this year it crossed those lines very dramatically racking in a whopping 10 million dislikes & 2.1 million likes , almost an 85% dislike ratio. Original Video: Current top 50 most disliked You tube Videos (wikipedia) Youtube Rewinds Like to Dislike ratio through out the past years (along with view count) The reason why it became the most disliked is a complex issue that looks too simple , Politics , Pushed trends, unpopular personalities , cheesiness , saturation , drama , you name it , it's a plethora of issues haunting it, also subtle issues like avoiding actual popular YouTube figure in it add to the whole mess of things . Marques brownlee who was also presenter in the video tried to explain it in a sensible way in one of his recent video addressing the issue, blamed disconnection between platform content creator & consumers , also blamed advertisersfor the whole mess. One of the best things that came out from it was the memes . So what do you guys think about this? why'd you like or dislike the video? 11. an iconic refresh Microsoft has revealed all-new Office 365 app icons with bolder, lighter hues, combined with simplistic visuals and instantly recognizable symbols. each icon was designed to decouple the individual letters and symbols to maintain familiarity while keeping a focus on simplicity. Depicted as Human-centered designs that emphasize content and reflect the speed of modern life Microsoft tends to update the look of its Office icons every three to five years. the company last changed its design way back in 2013. new faces The new icon designs for Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Skype, Teams and more, will be pushed out to nearly one billion Office users across the world over the next few months, replacing the existing icons which were released in 2013. 13. Emagherd, mAH Pryvasey is en dengaar! Scarewares, Nobody likes em , once you get to know how the cycle works, but to those who are just getting in to the whole Digital thing as a new thing , like old non-tech savvy folks & younger eager minded guys & gals who want to keep their pc safe by grabbing everything that offers them safety for free without cutting a hole through their pocket. Most of the folks tend to steer clear of premium apps & software to begin with as most are based on yearly subscription & have payment & uneasy activation hurdles to go through to get a pure offered service, Many software providing sites that offer free software that does so under the guise of having the best ratings & offers sorta click baity software's that later turn into a nightmare for users. Now Microsoft Windows Defender Research team announced that starting March Windows Defender will start removing software that has “coercive messages” or “misleading content to pressure you into paying for additional services or performing superfluous actions.” they grew up so fast , :') , seems just yesterday it was letting in coin miners & trojans in like old pals From February 2016 microsoft required cleaner and optimizer programs that purport to clean up systems and optimize performance to provide customers with detailed information about what purportedly needs to be fixed. This requirement aims to protect customers from programs that present aggregate “error” results with no specific details, without providing customers with the ability to assess and validate the so-called errors. Additional criteria that will trigger the removal include notices that the paid offer will expire in a limited time, or that no other errors (such as an antivirus program) will clean up the problems. In short, vendors that use scare tactics to get you to install, pay for, and use their system utilities will now have to be very careful about how they advertise, least Microsoft deem their products unwanted software and flag the applications for removal. In particular, Microsoft says, the rules will be aimed at killing off the dubious claims made by filesystem and Registry "cleaner" apps that try to charge users for performing routine or unnecessary tasks. For software developer who are worried about this issue & want to validate the detection of their programs can visit the Windows Defender Security Intelligence portal & upload their file for review. it's kinda like those phony microsoft team phone calls to your doorstep, applications that offer to scan your Windows PC for free, and then conveniently claim your computer is under attack by viruses, or has serious defects, and that the only way to save your files is to fork out fifty bucks for a magic cleanup tool. Rarely legit companies use scaretactics as marketing tool, but it has happened, Back in 2010 users of the free ZoneAlarm firewall version were presented with a pop-up "Global Virus Alert" notification about the trojan "ZeuS.Zbot.aoaq." The scary pop-up declares that your PC may be in danger! The high risk threat states that "ZeuS.Zbot.aoaq is a new Trojan virus had been found that steals banking passwords and financial account data. Basic protection to your computer is provided by Your ZoneAlarm Free Firewall, but this new threat requires additional security." The users were then redirected to their site to buy link for their premium software. Blog post was made by Barak Shein from Windows Defender Security Research team , So what are your thoughts on this? pretty bold move if you ask me but it could hinder legit software marketing that offer true protection which Microsoft might play a bias onto & ignore it because of that, but it's a welcoming sight to see the basic offered protection from within can carryout this important task to those who don't rely on a third party application to do so. please post Your thoughts & comments down below. 14. You there! Time to Go Home PS:Not this drone^^ Okay , it's a cheesy idea , but kinda cool to see stuff like this happening , A Japanese firm is proposing an idea to kick out over working employees on time for their own good by literally annoying them out of the door with an autonomous drone , The drone will fly through offices after hours playing Auld Lang Syne, which is commonly used to announce that stores are closing. To alert & annoy them to leave their post & go home, when it detects an over staying employee, it hovers over their head & keep playing the tune until they move away from their post. according to the firm employees tend to get lost in their office job & forget when the time to leave or sometimes deliberately overstay to do as much work as they can possible. T-Frend can take a pre-programmed flight across the office autonomously, using its sensors to navigate around walls and other obstacles while staying at a certain height to avoid papers flying up from its propellers. As well as an end-of-work alarm, T-Rend also functions as a security drone, filming surveillance footage and storing the data on an SD card. The drone’s developers are also considering outfitting it with facial recognition technology to help spot burglars and other intruders after-hours The drone is primarily a security guard that uses a video recorder to sweep the building when most of the company’s employees have gone home i kinda just imagine it being like a really big annoying mosquito , The idea of sending a drone to do this instead of sending another personnel to clear out the person from their post is also interesting , they have tried this method but it cause more problems within the job environment apparently & frictions between employees became too often heated , since there's no physical entity you can argue with when it's a drone & you cannot take it personally because that would be stupid this kinda gets the job done & it's a win-win. The T-Frend drone is a collaboration between Tasei, drone system developer Blue Innovation and the telecommunications operator NTT East. T-Frend’s developers are looking into using facial recognition technology so that late workers can be identified. The Drone hovers around the heads of workers clocking in overtime & It plays Auld Lang Syne, an 18th century Scottish ballad better known in Japan for telling shop customers it’s closing time. Working long hours in Japan is viewed as dedication and loyalty from the employee to the employer, a culture that the Japanese government has been trying to change. Every year in Japan, many workers die due to strokes, heart attacks and suicides, Workers are entitled to 20 days leave a year but currently about 35% don't take any of it. Examples : On Christmas Day in 2015, 24-year-old Matsuri Takahashi, an employee at the Japanese advertising agency Dentsu, jumped to her death. It emerged she had barely slept after working more than 100 hours of overtime a month in the period leading up to her death. In October, 31-year-old journalist Miwa Sado’s death in 2013 was ruled as ‘karoshi’ after it turned out she had logged 159 hours of overtime in one month at the NHK news agency Critics say the government is prioritizing business and economic interests at the expense of the welfare of workers. T-Frend drone is expected to be launched in April next year, sadly it's a monthly subscription based service but it would be carried out remotely off site , The service starts with a target price of around 500,000 yen (around usd $4,400) a month . 16. Kaspersky , a well known multinational cyber-security and anti-virus software provider is celebrating it's 20th Birthday , it was announced on this occasion that there will be a free basic Kaspersky Anti-Virus version being released to the public, The Software manufacturer hasn't had offered a free version of it's top tier software's except for minor free tools & basic free trials which runs it's course around over a month max . Their AV solutions have been on the very best AV choice list in terms of detection & stable program that is light weight & ease of use. General Software reviewers gave the Kaspersky AV solution 4 - 5 star ratings in majority of their reviews A reminder this is a basic version of the software , meaning you'll get the same time signature updates , Quarantine , Browsing protection , Email scan & the self protection feature to keep the software itself safe from attacks , Hey, it's better than Windows defender . For a lot more premium feature you do need to pay , like parental control, Secure Pay, Virtual KB/Anti-Keylogger , VPN, Customer support , The software release is set to be done periodically , so depending on the region You might have to wait to get your hands on the free version of the software , The first wave of free version release covers US, Russia,Canada,Sweden,China & a few other countries & rest of them will be released slowly . Countries like India, Hong Kong, Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Latin America will have to wait till September to get their hands on the software , Kaspersky?? Isn't that the Russian company? Kaspersky recently made a slight headlines as US Congress made a move to blanket ban the Kaspersky products from the PC used by government systems because of feared Manufacturer is based on Russia & might be succumbed to eaves drop from Russian political official influence. The company responded by saying it will provide it's source code directly to the concerned officials to clear up any kind of mistrust issues , Recently few of the US engineers who were working for the company was questioned by the FBI on this topic . But long story short , nothing came up . " As a private company, Kaspersky Lab has no ties to any government, and the company has never helped, nor will help, any government in the world with its cyberespionage efforts - KS Labs representative " I think it's a pretty decent move from the company , Lots of free AV solutions out there that offer free solutions , but with this amount of reliable detection & protection offered as free is a pretty good deal , hope they don't do forced registration to run a free version. 19. Any possibilities to bring this feature back in at the bottom of the page? i know tagging the users like we did previously was hard to implement due to site crashing , but is it possible to have a window with active online members shown in numbers? or does it have its own serious cons in sites performance? Edit: PS: an active live counter would look cool doe
  20. Watch out SIRI, Samsung is to introduce a new voice assistant to its new line up of smart phones nick named "Bixby" , This new implementation of A.I assisted voice control is set to compete against its rival company's rather the digital assistant will debut with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in late March. Unlike SIRI voice assistance that works on through the home button , Bixby is set to have a small dedicated button for it to be activated just below the volume controls on the side of the phone , The goal of Bixby is to voice-enable every single action in an app that you'd normally do via touch, the general hassle of going through contacts or opening a certain message etc , the general notion of going into homescree, opening applications folder & there might be subfolder within folders that you need to go through to get into the app that you want, all of this will be eased out with a simple voice command using bixby basically making it effortless Bixby designer > Injong Rhee The system in general aims to do a polished version of SIRI in a way , but in a bit more complicated way , Samsung already had a simple voice command system known as S-Voice with limited ability to interact with the user , The new AI assistant is set to talk back & interact flawlessly with the user, Bixby's main progressive feature : Completeness When an application becomes Bixby-enabled, Bixby will be able to support almost every task that the application is capable of performing using the conventional interface (ie. touch commands). Most existing agents currently support only a few selected tasks for an application and therefore confuse users about what works or what doesn’t work by voice command. The completeness property of Bixby will simplify user education on the capability of the agent, making the behaviors of the agent much more predictable Context Awareness When using a Bixby-enabled application, users will be able to call upon Bixby at any time and it will understand the current context and state of the application and will allow users to carry out the current work-in-progress continuously. Bixby will allow users to weave various modes of interactions including touch or voice at any context of the application, whichever they feel is most comfortable and intuitive. Most existing agents completely dictate the interaction modality and, when switching among the modes, may either start the entire task over again, losing all the work in progress, or simply not understand the user’s intention. Cognitive Tolerance When the number of supported voice commands gets larger, most users are cognitively challenged to remember the exact form of the voice commands. Most agents require users to state the exact commands in a set of fixed forms. Bixby will be smart enough to understand commands with incomplete information and execute the commanded task to the best of its knowledge, and then will prompt users to provide more information and take the execution of the task in piecemeal. This makes the interface much more natural and easier to use. This is actually a significant move from the company that is pushing it towards a right direction imo, soon this will be implemented on Samsung future products according to their official blog post, a simple voice command is all you need What do you think ? 22. #FirstWorldProblemYo System which is a part of IOT made a bit frenzy during the Advertisement spot segment for some folks, which google had on their product "Google Home" , The system responded to the trigger voice command from the television "OK Google" & tried to respond to the following command following the ad transmission, Google Home is a voice activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant which always listens , which made this a mini chaos to those users who had it in a hearing range to the television the spot featured over and over again, people uttering its popular wake word, “OK Google” made the device wake & respond abruptly, The home system is dormant until a user calls out . Then they perform any number of functions from playing a musical selection to turning on or off the lights. Some users reporting that the system didn't recognize the command & responded " sorry, I don’t understand " #OkayDad, More Money Google hasn't yet commented on this mild hiccup , but no harm done. 23. Doing a mini research & noticed this interesting thing, on a Full HD monitor, almost all games for most of the video reviews so far i've seen showed the 1070 running well above 60fps on high to max settings on current AAA games for the most parts , well above the monitors limited refresh rates, meanwhile the 1060 hovered only a bit over the 60fps limit , but dipping near 40-45 at it lowest on the same settings but very briefly , now for a budget conscious person , those extra fps is literally wasted if he buys a 1070, right? , but it does give headroom, but still , without changing up the monitor to meet the needs do you think which would be the most appropriate buy , please state your reasons & your opinion & why on your comment down below
